This is a very intriguing start to this new series. The story is well written and offers up a compelling combination of emotion, drama, tension, sparks and a whole lot of the unknown that will have you eager to keep reading and left wanting when you hit that cliffhanger at the end of the book. It is dark, twisty, intense and will have you feeling like you are perched right on the edge and just waiting for the fall. All I know is I want more and I want it as soon as possible. This is my sincere, freely posted review.

BRILLIANT Need MORE!!!
Oh Yea this is definitely a tantalizing mysterious dark read with plenty of emotions drama and suspense that got me excited holding my breath riding the edge feeling dreamy and ready to explode loving every amazing word. The chemistry was so freaking hot with a wild twist to it that sent spine tingling shivers through me. (YUMMY!). Brilliantly written sweet enticing start to this series that screams with an urgency to be read and feeling frantic as the cliffy excites and leaves me scratching my head tossing my kindle praying that book two hurries the heck up and helps to ease the uncomfortable feeling book one kept giving me a twisted taste of.

This is the first book in House of Lions series and brings Rex and Luna's story. The author once again starts off with a bang! She brings strong characters and weaves an intriguing story with tons of emotions and pulled me in with all the drama ,tension and steamy chemistry. It's well written with vividly painted scenes and the story flows fluidly. She had me glued to the pages from start to finish and left me with wanting more. I can't wait for the next book!

I was super excited about a new series from Shayne Ford and Rex didn’t disappoint. Luna Rae and her best friend Frankie are on a beach break when something unexpected happens and that’s how they meet Rex and the quiet Luna is instantly interested cause she knows there more to Rex then the obvious. The mystery factor in this book has my attention majorly for what’s to come next

Luna Rae is staying at the beach house that her grandaunt has rented for them this summer while she was away, her best friend and roommate Frankie After f go to the beach the first day and while Frank is enjoying the water Luna is watching the sky and the people around her area she notices two guys and a woman they are surfing. All of a sudden the weather changes and the wind picks up and the waves start to roll in but she doesn't see her friend anymore and gets worried but she cannot leave not knowing where Frankie was but she knows she didn't get out and walk away, one of the surfer guys came over and she told him about Frankie and where she last saw her he goes off and after a long time and she sees everyone else leaves even the big guy who was all muscle and strength come out of the water like he didn't have a care in the world.
After they come out of the wanter together she is so relieved that she can hardly stand and then the guy Rex walks them to their car and of course that is not the end of it and this is their story Luna and Rex and Frankie and Carlos. Rex: House of Lions Book One by Shayne Ford. Highly anticipated new series from a truly talented author. I don’t even think about it- all her books are one click choices for me. Her stories are like a drug for me- just can’t get enough and always waiting anxiously for the next one. Rex has certainly piqued my interest too. I just finished this book and I have to say I am seriously impressed with the quality of writing that went into creating this incredible story. I can’t wait to find out what happens next with all the characters involved. I enjoyed learning about the main characters (Luna and Rex) and their struggles. Looking forward to next installment in this series. I was graciously given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A great majority of her books are series and therefore have cliffhangers and so of course you are just waiting on pins and needles for the next installment but not to worry she always makes it worth your while. I have read a lot of her series (not all of them yet) and every one of them is 5-star ratings. Highly recommend you read this new series of hers and if you haven't read her others, START NOW!

November 23, 2020I've read all of Shyane's series to this point and Rex does not disappoint. It has all the heat, angst, build-up and romance you expect from Shyane and more. A little more edge and darkness. Beautifully written, compelling and strong characters, and intriguing plot that keeps you reading long past bedtime. It's everything a person wants in dark romance. The cliffhanger at the end is classic Shyane. Thankfully she generally rapid releases so we don't have to wait on the edge of our seats for too long. I can't wait for book 2 and all the ones to come in this series. It's shaping up to be simply delicious!

What can I say ,I have been waiting for another book from Shayne ,and I had to say she never disappoint .This started of with a sense of curiosity as to where it was going but soon when Luna met Alex and their coming together was so explosive it was like 2 asteroid travelling the same path about to crash into each other....Shayne your books are astounding and deserve more than 5stars... It ends with a cliff hanger and omg I can't wait to see what book 2is about especially with the man no one wants to hang with Alex brother..this book will have me to the edge of my seat ...I am an arc reader and I am giving an honest review voluntarily...

I think it's a good firts part for this series. The story begins slowly with the heroine, Luna, whose lives for the women in her family have not been happy for one reason or another, with the men.
Events disturb what could have been a simple romance, as a mysterious side develops when Luna meets Rex and opens up to him. It's this mysterious side that I really liked.
The cliffhanger doesn't put too much pressure when it happens, but it does hint at an unpredictable sequel due to the mystery surrounding the male characters.

The beautiful California coast is the setting for the story and the picturesque scenery gives this a dreamy feel. But after Rex and Luna meet by chance at the sea shore the story soon becomes shrouded with mystery, danger, tension, and intrigue.
These two have good chemistry, but I think we've barely scratched the surface with them. They have the potential to blow the roof off as their connection grows. Rex's mysteriousness and the sense of foreboding that it creates has piqued my curiosity. My imagination is already getting away from me, wondering where this series will take them. Ready for the next book!

Shayne Ford has me completely immersed in this new series starter. Who is Rex Jackson, really? The mystery of the man has more than tweaked my imagination. Luna finally tries to spread her wings, unleash her cautious hold on life but I can't help but wonder if she's stepped onto a slippery slope that will have everything she's believed about herself careening. The next installment on this couple can't get here soon enough!

This is truly a dark and delicious start to a new series. The storyline is filled with emotion, chemistry, drama, and twists. The main characters are defined, have issues, and attraction. This book has an intense and suspenseful plot with mystery, drama, strong emotions, unexpected twists, and sizzling chemistry. The characters are well developed and intriguing. I knew from the first page of Lex and Luna Rae's story I'd be in for a wild ride and sure enough Shayne didn't let me down. It's mysterious and intriguing and that's only the beginning of things to come. I can tell already it's going to be quite a journey into the unknown that has piqued my curiosity.

I picked this up as an intriguing cover photo and new to this author. Nice style of writing. I was stunned and delighted when the steamy scene was so dark and bdsm-esque. Turned me on completely! Then found myself running out of pages!!! Can’t wait for the next one.
