Kris and his ladies survived the battle of Clearwater along with his in-laws, friends, and most of his crew. But Rokad escaped and his hiding within Tolgrath's Clan even though he was wounded. Kris had gained friends while attending the games but lost more. He also found out that his homeworld was attacked as well. With the demon responsible in the wind, he and his crew are desperately trying to locate him before he creates more mayhem.
Exhulm is on high alert now that Clearwater was taken out. The people know that it is a matter of time before the demons and their spawn will strike. Since Akmir has a foothold back onto their world, things are about to become chaotic.
This book is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. It has cursing, violence, gore, sexual content, and unconventional relationships.
The power ramps up. The characterization stays even (i.e. poor). And the plot and pace are still strong. I was worried about the gods showing up, but hey, power growth has to go somewhere, right? Sorry, that implies he's fighting gods and we're not there yet. Maybe next time?
I've caught up to publishing and I'm ashamed to admit that I'd read the next if it were out yet. Okay, I don't actually have a sense of shame, but if I did, I would. Three stars.
A note about Steamy: I know there were explicit sex scenes but I skimmed them ruthlessly. So I don't remember how many. Maybe they were even better than before. But I doubt it.
This is okay. There are so many people in these books by this point it is hard to keep track. Takes a while to get back into the series. The MCs in this author's books are all pretty much the same. They have an IDGAF attitude. Don't have time for any nobles and their politics and they are usually really OP. Enjoyable but could be better.
very creative adventure and situations with an OP MC and his crew.
The adventure continues, though I enjoyed the 1st couple of books more. This is mainly because of all the characters. I cannot remember them all so its harder to invest in relating to them. There needs to be a refresher built into the story as characters are introduced so we can remember them. Only a few stand out, like his succubus lover who raised him, his fairy girlfriend and Allister, his mentor. All the others have sort of meshed together, so I don’t know who is Tallia’s daughter etc. still the story is quite creative.
As in all of the author’s books (I’ve read) the MC is A pretty rebellious guy who has issues with authority figures. Fortunately for him he is OP so they cannot smite him into submission. Still they all act like they never heard “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar”. This mindset wont work out so well for most people in the real world. What is more realistic in this particular series is that while the MC and his harem are OP, there are others that can at least pull their weight. In other series the MC is OP and just about everyone else feels like cannon fodder waiting for the MC to save the day.
I still look forward to more of the author’s works as I am reading 3 of his ongoing series.
As a fantasy harem lit romp that's more about being a fun ride than compelling intrigue and drama this is pretty decent.
The dramatic archs move more like a long form web novel and there are some plot holes here and there. With that said it's still pretty fun if you just let go and go along for the ride.
I am concerned about the rate of puplishing. This story likes to get side tracked and the MC loves being unconscious for large swaths of time. So much so that the ending to this novel had to be prepared with a bow. It was still fun (after I got over some gripes) and was worth the read. But I'll be retirement age before this saga finishes at this point. Unless we get another ending wrapped up in a bow.
As the title says. This series though has been an interesting one for me. And this book basically gave me whiplash with some of the turns with the plot. It’s… weird, but like not in a bad way? The only way I can describe this series is like with the type of food you have, that by all accounts tastes funny, smells funny and looks funny, yet somehow it’s slightly addictive and you can’t help but go back for more. Either way I’m looking forward to the next one.
Superb! Jade got everything right in this book! Last book disappointed me at the end. Now it seems I will have to read another series to see what’s going on, which I don’t mind. It’s just a shame that these books take so long to come out. Kris and `Rhys really came into their power in this book and so did the rest,of the crew and family. I’m glad the ten finally caught up as well. I’m excited for the next book. I hope this series continues for many books to come
This is an exciting story. I can’t go in to details, since those would be spoilers. If you have not been following Xander, you need to. There is a reason he is so popular.
The continuation was very enjoyable. Kris and his crew came through again, and was surprised to see the story merge into meeting with Dominic and his family. I can't wait to see how this story continues on both story lines.
Chaos: The Celestial Chronicles Book 4 by zander jade
Another fantastic by the brilliant Zander Jade. Well done, very fast paced, good new characters, interesting, interplay with World building. Very good. Gary Challenger from Devon UK.
... because I have to wait so long for the next book! Mr. Jade is rapidly becoming a favorite author. Every book I've read is greatly entertaining and I look forward to many more
I have personally enjoyed everything this author has written!!! I have found myself pulled into the worlds they create which to me is what makes them a master storyteller!!! If you haven't read there other works,I'd recommend them highly!!!!
I wish we had more sexy time with the girls and maybe slow the story down a little but, I know Xanders books are all about that crazy ramp up. I also loved the crossover at the end.
We really didn’t need another half book with healing side characters I ended up just skimming most of the first half and middle to get the story moving again
The first half of the book was really hard to read. Too many characters to keep track of… I have to re read the previous book to understand the who’s who…
