I’m still learning how to navigate these relationships, especially as they've started to pay the price for my actions. The fear of losing them grows stronger each day, and I don't know how to fix things between us.

But I'm determined to make forward progress and rebuild what I've destroyed. I just hope it isn't too late.

🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧

I jumped on this one as soon as it hit my BookFunnel audio library because, as I have mentioned before, me and this story are getting along just fine, and also, we’re at the point in the journey were circumstances are happening that mean a whole lot for the future of this relationship! So pins and needles and all that …

That being said, this installment tested me and had a lot more dramatics than was necessary for the story to have an impact. I’m not saying that the circumstances that happened wouldn’t happen realistically in a relationship, but we’re in round four of this and we are still whacking at conflict points like a game of whac-a-mole. It’s exhausting. *shrug* Honestly, I was hoping they’d take advantage of the marriage to build their relationship but instead they were still battling it out. It was exhausting. Don’t get me started on the conflict with his daughter because that should have been handled way before now.

I’m not really a fan of stories that allow conflict to drive the story until the end. I believe stories need conflict because life is not ever all rainbows and gumdrops and things happen all the time, but how do I believe in a relationship that is in constant turmoil in one way or another. *sigh* I was a sad listener for most of this instalment and I didn’t like it. The circumstance that ended the last installment was used as kindling to allow Forward Progress to be “on fire” for the entirety of the story and maybe that’s just a me thing, but it was just too much. It should have been used as a plot-device to bring them together and unite and show some growth in the relationship, but it was actually used to derail and move ten feet backwards by ending with … wait for it … divorce papers. *blink*

As you can read, I am now not getting a long with this serial telling of Travis & Victoria’s journey but at least it was only 4(ish) hours long *shrug*

Sidenote: I laughed a lot at the title of this instalment because, really??? LOL

🎧NARRATION ⇒ I’m still very impressed with Lance Greenfield and Callie Dalton’s performance, but thru no fault of their own, they didn’t enhance my experience. The story was just too much. *shrug*

In book four things begin to unravel, bad decisions, exposed secrets and no time for communication. Travis and Victoria are at their limits, there are no other shoes left to fall; or is there? There is very little forward progress for Travis and Victoria. Only one book left to pull this all together, I have faith in Ms. Suzanne, and I trust her to get us there.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

4 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This series is killing me. Each cliffhanger ending .. I just need to know how this all ends!

This is my least fav of the series because so much negative drama happens, and I just hate seeing these two not communicating with each other.

The one thing with this couple is when they are good, they are so good, which means when they are bad, they are really bad.

I guess I will just have to continue to see how it all ends!

You get:
• Dual POV
• Spicy
• Mental Health Rep
• Sports Romance
• Miscommunication
• Celebrity
• Found Family

This is a great series! Available on KU, ebook, paperback, and audiobook.

4.5 THE ANGST IS SO GOOD STARS !

This book picks up exactly where book three leaves off after that incredible cliffhanger !! Travis is a superstar football player for the Vegas Aces which also allows him to be a superstar playboy off of the field . But when a tragic accident leaves him being the new single dad to Harper, who is in fact his biological daughter, that he has never met .. life takes a huge turn for Travis . Victoria is Harper’s new reading teacher and she has had enough of the grumpy football star who Harper calls dad . But even with all of the tension, dislike and bickering matches these two get in .. they have incredibly explosive chemistry . But will that be enough for everything that is in store for them ?

WOW !!! Lisa always does such an amazing job with all of her series and Travis’ is starting off with such a bang ! The epic cliffhangers continue with book two leaving you wanting book three immediately ! I can’t wait to see what happens next in Field Goal .

This is book four in the Vegas Aces: The Playbook series and it ends on a CLIFFHANGER . This book cannot be read as a complete standalone .

This audiobook was given to me for honest review by Valentine PR + Literary Management .

Book Number 4 in the series has definitely brought the most drama. At the end of book 3, there was definitely a lot left up in the air with Travis, Harts, and Harps. And this book gives us a lot of answers for consequences of certain actions that happened. And while the last book was mostly happy in paradise, this book was not.

Victoria and Travis really go through it in this book. While they rushed into what should have been the inevitable marriage, they are both questioning things now that things have gotten tough.

They always say that marriage is a mix of the good and the bad, and these two seem to be struggling with the bad. But will they last? Or is this doomed before it really even began?

Looking forward to reading the 5th and final book in the series in hopes that this little family will finally get their HEA. Harper has been through so much in the few months since her parents passed away, and now she is dealing with a whole new set of troubles. I just want Harper to get the happiness that she deserves!

Travis has made a lot of mistakes. We keep waiting for him to stop making more and yet they keep coming. Some from his past. Some not so quite. And yet, I can’t seem to stop rooting for him either. I can’t stop wanting him to get it right. Maybe because every time it switches to his POV you can see how the heart is always in the right place despite the brokenness that keeps darkening his life.

Or maybe it’s because it resembles real life. How we take one step forward and two steps backward until we start taking two forward instead. How we take time to get things right and even when we think we did… something always happens to test that.

Maybe it’s because none of us can ever be perfect and yet that’s what we strive to be everyday. Maybe it’s because sometimes we fear the road ahead and try to come up with so many excuses to hit reverse.

Maybe it’s because I fell for Travis many books ago. Maybe it’s because I fell for Victoria in just as many. Maybe is because Harper deserves the world.

Everything is Falling Apart!!

Travis and Victoria’s life seems to be falling apart. How can something that felt so right turn into such a disaster? Travis is off to training camp making it near impossible for the couple to communicate which definitely is not helping their situation. He has so many things coming at him with one mistake after another putting his relationship with Harper in jeopardy.

I cannot wait to see if Travis, Victoria and Harper get their HEA. Their story has pulled me into to their world and has me anxiously wondering just how can things work out with so many things being put in their way.

Twists and turns, too could have been an ideal name for this book because omgg they had me sat through and through. I love this series! It’s so entertaining. I really don't want to give anything away but I simply love the character development of both the MCs, especially Travis. And Vitoria is a strong and a smart protagonist and she is portrayed well in the series. The story line is really creative and I found myself saying "no way" many times as I was shocked and been drawn into the book. So far, I have love each book, and these main characters. And I love the well thought out plots of each story. Can't wait enough to finally have their HEA!!

🌶️🌶️

Forward Progress is the 4th installment in the Vegas Aces: Playbook series. This one mostly deals with the fallout for all the mistakes Travis made in the previous book. This had a lot more angst and drama between Travis and Victoria.

I was kind of frustrated with this one after all the character growth they had in the last book. I felt like they were finally acknowledging their love and creating a little family with his daughter. This one took their relationship backward. They both reacted poorly to the consequences Travis had to face from his actions. I did think Victoria acted way too rashly without trying to work through things with Travis. She took a couple of steps back as a character for me. Victoria really comes off very immature. Travis is going through a lot with his career and public image, so his responses seemed realistic and understandable.

My issue with this series is that the heroine is immature and pretty unlikable. I liked her more in the last one, but unfortunately, this one brought her down for me again. I mean, she stayed with a verbally abusive boyfriend for 3 years but does not even give Travis a chance to work through their issues.

Audiobook Review
Lance Greenfield and Callie Dalton continue to do a great job bringing these characters to life. Lance Greenfield really showed his characters frustrations and struggles in this book. I could feel his anger and anxiety over the fallout he was facing. Callie Dalton also did a great job with Victoria’s anger and bitchy behavior…..🤣🤣🤣 I just don’t like Victoria.

Thank you to Valentine PR for providing the ALC.

Book four. Look. I’ve read enough of her five-part mini books to know how this works. Book four is where all hell breaks lose (which is does)- and the end makes everyone feel like their isn’t hope.

That’s exactly the same formula that happens here. This time though it’s just stupid mistake after stupid mistake and it’s more on the character than outside influences which felt a bit more annoying.

Travis isn’t even redeemable in this one. He is just as irritating as Victoria. They both are equally yuck in this book. Part of me doesn’t even care to find out to HEA in the next book, which is sad since I truly love these little series and the Aces. The stories are just a bit too much to me and this one just feels unbelievable and tired.

I’m literally Stunned, this book picked up exactly from where it had ended. The narrators were phenomenal as usual. Callie Dalton and lance Greenfield didn’t disappoint in their performance and portrayal of the main characters and others.. they brought the story to life that will leave you fuming and salivating for the final story in this series….
a story that Lisa Suzanne has so expertly crafted.

One lapse in judgment has ripple effects I never saw coming.
TRAVIS ~

This story was riddled with one bombshell after the next, moments of miscommunication, confusion conflict and uncertainty and unnecessary drama..
Yes.. and utter selfishness.
Victoria. SMH .. just as I was sort of thinking I could like her she showed me why I shouldn’t .. this girl is unbelievable!
Travis and Victoria got married then soon after their return home, her disgusting ex who she showed more loyalty and love to had Travis arrested right in front of his daughter , and from there things between them were one struggle after the next.

Legal battles, jail time, and league punishments don't faze me as much as losing the two people who are most important to me.
TRAVIS~

While I get the frustration from both Travis and yes Victoria (rolling my eyes) I just can’t believe that the club thing would be the straw to break them ..well that among other reasons.. but good god this girl was just going on about how she feels and what being married to Travis in such a short time has cost her..HER.. WTH !!

I'm still learning how to navigate these relationships, especially as they've started to pay the price for my actions. The fear of losing them grows stronger each day, and I don't know how to fix things between us.
TRAVIS ~

Travis went to jail because he went and got back her stupid ball.. her married her not for his daughter alone but because he loved and wanted her .. yet she is up in her head about how bad he is for her .. and so she ended it. WTAF!

Now Travis is feeling as if he truly deserves losing everything her and even his Daughter ..when he really is trying to manage the best way he can .. did he F up at times sure but it understandable he was in training and under pressure extremely difficult times.
Now he stands to lose his daughter who he never got a chance with. As her mother had manipulated the young Travis so she could get pregnant and then cut him out of the little girls life .
This guy really has it hard .

I'm determined to make forward progress and rebuild what I've destroyed. I just hope it isn't too late.

Forward Progress is the fourth book in the Vegas Aces: The Playbook series, which must be listened to in order.

Couldn’t put down this Audiobook at all, as one drama after next is quickly unfolding!
Lisa Suzanne is queen of cliffhanger.no doubt about that.
And the emotions that the narrators brings was enough to leave me seething at the end!

Can’t wait to find out if Travis will get his HEA and will Victoria realizes her mistake in time..
I really Hope she will be the one to GROVEL..
Must say though I’m not mad that this book is in five part s because I’m totally enjoying it..
definitely recommend but insist you start from the beginning.

Diving back into Vegas Aces: The Playbook series, Lisa Suzanne has us picking right back up with Travis and Victoria’s story in book four Forward Progress, continuing straight from where the cliffhanger left us hanging in book three Fair Catch.

The storyline definitely threw you for a loop considering the book title Forward Progress was a contradiction of the plot delivered.
But that’s what made the story even more interesting and appealing, thinking you know what you’re getting, only to be surprised. And even more so at the twists and turns thrown, something that was completely unexpected to say the least IMO.
And yet it never once stopped you from chopping at the bits, seeing just where Travis and Victoria’s journey alongside Harper would take them with every page turn.

They say the honeymoon phase doesn’t last right and seeing as Fair Catch seemed to be Travis and Victoria’s honeymoon period.
The blossoming of their new relationship and then their newer established relation later on.
It came at no surprise that Forward Progress wasn't all lovey dovey and flowers and sunshine for the two.

The plot truly thickened the most in book four not only with all drama and conflict that came into play from every turn.
But with all the major waves that kept hitting and pushing at Travis and Victoria, it had them being tested to their limits.
All of which Lisa showcased through their dual POVs, that included their inner monologue giving further details from the in-depth look. Of which we were able to see them being stretched so thin and apart, leading both struggling to overcome, creating even more distance between the two.

With such heavy tension and intense suspenseful filled storyline, Lisa had you falling deep into the emotionally charged journey of it all. Mostly when you took into account the waves of angsty-ness that came pouring out, courtesy of the situations and events faced by Travis and Victoria themselves.
The pain from the raw emotions presented really hit deep and hard at times, having you on the brink of tears from the heartbreak it made you feel alongside them too.

Let me just say that ending truly broke my heart with having me close to tears.
Whilst Forward Progress ending hit differently compared to the other endings Lisa has left us hanging on in the previous books, none the less it still has me desperate for Lisa Suzanne’s last book in Vegas Aces: The Playbook series Field Goal to see how it will all go down from Travis and Victoria once and for all.
More so Harper though, who deserves a HEA the most.

Forward Progress is the fourth book in Lisa Suzanne's extremely addictive Vegas Aces: The Playbook series and is Travis, Victoria and Harper's continuing story.
Forward Progress picks up right where Fair Catch ended with that shocking cliff-hanger which left us wanting more!
After what happened and the fallout from the incident, things between Travis and Victoria is tense to say the least, they are far from being in the honeymoon phase of their relationship. Travis cannot help but feel resentment towards Victoria, if she wasn't in his life none of this would be happening right now and Victoria is feeling the same about Travis, his actions has cost her her dream job and all these things they're feeling and the problems that they are up against is making them question everything.
But no matter what is going on in their lives, the way they feel about each other and the family they are creating is the only thing they're certain about right now.
"Real feelings are involved now, and I have fallen in love with him and his daughter"
However when it comes time for Travis to head to training camp and be away from Victoria and Harper for two weeks, if this was a few weeks ago he would have no worries that Victoria and Harper will be waiting for him to come home but now after everything that has happened Travis cannot be sure there will be a family waiting for him, or even if there is a family to salvage.
"A wedge divides us, and I don't know how to close the gap when it just seems to be getting wider every passing moment."
Are Travis's fears about losing the best things that has ever happened to him all in his head or is there some truth to his fears? Does Travis need to be worried that he'll lose it all?
Read Forward Progress to find out!
I LOVED Forward Progress, I could not put it down! Even though I cannot wait for the next book, in a way I'm glad there is only one more book left, I don't think I can take another one of Lisa's cliff hangers! But I'm not ready to say goodbye to Travis, Victoria and Harper! With every book of Lisa's I find a new favourite and I say I can't possibly see how she'll be able to knock it off of my top spot but every time she proves me wrong and she has done exactly that with this series.
I received an arc of Forward Progress and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Forward Progress
Just when things should be looking up for Travis, Victoria and Harper, everything starts to fall apart. This book starts off with Travis being arrested in front of his new wife and daughter at the Vegas Airport. He spends the night in jail. He thinks about his life and choices. How will this affect his career there is a personal conduct clause in his contract. What will Harper think seeing her dad arrested? He should never have accosted Owen, is it Victoria’s fault? Will this cost him his new wife? So many things to think about and Training Camp is coming up, meaning two weeks away from Victoria and Harper.
Victoria has no idea how to process all the paparazzi and media attention. She protects Harper, grabs their luggage and heads home. She wonders if she can navigate this new world of being a Football Wife. Then being a focus of the media leads to Victoria losing her dream job. The school district released her and her old job was filled leaving Victoria unemployed. Did she make the right choice? She undeniably loves Travis and Harper. Can they make this work?
Travis is under pressure with a league decision coming soon about his arrest. He is not thinking clearly and makes mistakes. He should have called Victoria; they need to communicate. Travis has abandonment issues and thinks maybe he will lose Victoria. Then there is the Callahan’s lawsuit to remove Harper from Travis’s home. Can Travis regain his position on the football team after a 3-game suspension?
Victoria has no idea how to move forward, she has no job. Her career as a reading specialist is gone. Travis seems distant and making bad choices. She decides to take an escape clause in their marriage.
What about Harper? This sweet little dinocorn loving ten-year-old has lost her parents. She finds out that Travis Woods is her father. They move to Vegas, a new home, a new school, a new everything. She becomes attached to her reading teacher. Her father and teacher get married. Then she sees her father arrested.
This book was very emotional. So much pressure for all involved. This is new territory for everyone. Can they find a way back to each other. Love is a great foundation but is it enough?

WOW.... Oh, Travis. Our 'Knight in Tarnished Armor' is back again and the hits just keep on coming.

Forward Progress brings out ALL the feels 😭 Grab the tissues & prepare yourself for the ride ahead.... I never thought I would hate someone as much as I hate Savannah Buck but Owen Platt sure ranks up there, the little weasel!
Lol 🤣

Travis finds his world spiraling yet again as he faces the consequences of his actions. Anger, tension and resentment builds as he tries to hold everything together by a thread. Old hurts and insecurities fester as he's never truly dealt with these emotional scars and he begins to question every decision he's made since his daughter turned up in his life. His world is turning upside down both personally and professionally and he's quickly spiraling out of control. One bad decision has led him down a slippery slope and the hits just keep on coming threatening to drown him.

Victoria is struggling with her own feelings of doubt, insecurity, anger and resentment towards not only the new world she finds herself thrust into but her relationships with those around her. She wants to desperately be there for Travis and Harper, the family she's always wanted, but can she deal with this new life that she's not sure she's cut out for? Being in the spotlight is not something she expected or prepared herself for when she fell in love & quickly married the HOT Football star 🥵 Actions have consequences and she's quickly finding out that she might not be equipped to handle it.

Mistakes & Misunderstanding. Old Hurts & New. Miscommunication or None at All... So much angst and drama. 💔

Do they have what it takes to overcome everything stacked against them and defeat all the obstacles in their way?

Lisa Suzanne has done it again! The Queen of Cliffies has left us with a big one and I can't wait to see how this series ends!

As I finish this book I have so many thoughts and emotions going through my head and they really aren't good ones about these 3 main characters.
Travis is certainly no angel but he has been trying. He really has stepped forward to be a father and provider to Harper and shown his love and devotion to her although he does seem to send her off for sleepovers whenever possible to get his alone time with Victoria. I understand his needs but come on guy - priorities and at this stage and with his daughter's age, she should be his top priority, especially considering all she has been going through. BTW, she should be getting weekly therapy. The whole Owen thing is so annoying and his decision to mess up Owen's place and smack him around was not mature or necessary. It just fed Owen's fire.
And then there's Victoria. Her and that darn baseball. She should have thought of that when she fled his house and as we learn through life, some hills are not worth dying on. Let it go already. There are times when she comes off as a jersey chaser. "This is what it's like to be a football wife." And then there's her job. A private school anywhere in this country is not going to like one of their staff members drawing attention. She made her bed and is now whining when things don't go her way. However, when Travis steps in and presents a solution, all of a sudden life is wonderful again for her. I did not like her character at all in this book and had no sympathy for her.
Harper...she's been a whiny kid from the start. Her neediness is justified due to losing her parents but she's acting like a brat. Travis has done so much for her but the material things don't seem to be doing it for her.
Lisa Suzanne has done an outstanding job of getting my emotions going with this installment and I can't wait for book 5.

Forward Progress (Vegas Aces: The Playbook #4) by Lisa Suzanne is part four of a five-part contemporary sports romance serial and ends with a cliffhanger. Told in first person dual POV, this installment includes single-parent and marriage-of-convenience tropes. The story follows the relationship between new single parent, pro football player Travis Woods and children’s reading specialist Victoria Hartley.

This book picks up where the previous one ended, with Victoria and Harper watching as the police haul Travis from the airport in handcuffs. The consequences of Travis’s actions have caught up with him and the repercussions are far-reaching, affecting him and Victoria in unexpected ways. They’re newlyweds, but life is far from a honeymoon as they deal with one obstacle after another. Both Travis and Victoria struggle with feelings of resentment toward each other; the lines of communication between them break down; and they wonder if getting married so quickly was a mistake. Will they make it through this rough patch? Or will they cut their losses and move on?

I enjoyed this fourth installment of Travis and Victoria’s story. Where the last book was mostly happy with their relationship growing and progressing, this book was the opposite. Instead of forward progress, as the title suggests, their relationship breaks down and deteriorates. Victoria and Travis are not communicating well and the distance between them is growing. At the start of this book, things don’t look good for them, and by the end, they don’t look any better—especially not after that cliffhanger. Forward Progress is full of twists, drama, and a healthy dose of angst. I’m looking forward to finding out how it all ends in the final installment, Field Goal.

We're heading into the home stretch for Travis and Victoria with Forward Progress, book 4 in the Vegas Aces: The Playbook series by Lisa Suzanne.

3.5ish ⭐

Ok, so hear me out- I was not really a big fan of this "installment" of the Travis-Victoria saga. When book 3 ended on that cliff I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book so that Lisa could work her magic and correct all that was about to unravel. Only this time around I felt like the unravel was happening faster than the fixing. I found it kind of amusing though that Lisa titled this book Forward Progress because of that- like pretty much everything about this book is the opposite of these two moving forward and its killing me.

And personally, I just wasn't connected with either Travis or Victoria. Too much felt just surface level and all the resentment building between these two as the hits just keep coming. Add in the insecurities from both sides and just a complete break down of communication, it all just added bruises to my heart. There are beautiful little moments between them where I thought that everything was going to be good, they could nip some of the hurt coming because they were working together but then they kept creating this distance between them and basically shut down on each other.

So yeah, not my favorite book as far as the progression for the couple goes BUT I don't doubt that Lisa has big plans for these two making all the blows to their relationship necessary. Travis really got to me right toward the end- his words and inner turmoil made me ache, especially when it came to his precarious relationship with Harper- so naturally that's where the story stops!!

Bring on book 5- I absolutely need it now, Lisa needs to fix all the devastation and give that poor lonely boy some love!!

"Forward Progress" takes readers on an emotional journey. As a HUGE fan of Travis, I must admit that it's impossible to ignore the growing frustration that Victoria is experiencing. While it's easy to empathize with Travis's struggles, it's so important to acknowledge that Victoria's weariness is justified.

Travis and Victoria's relationship is complex, to say the least. It has become evident that his recurring patterns of behavior have taken a toll on Victoria (as well as Harper). The narrative doesn't shy away from addressing this, emphasizing the importance of growth and maturity in their dynamic. As adults, Travis and Victoria NEED to confront their issues head-on if they want to establish a stable life together.

Victoria's journey is particularly saddening this book. It's clear that she has been compromising her own needs and emotions to stand by Travis's side time and time again. Her inner conflict is palpable, and it's difficult not to ache for her as she grapples with the weight of her decisions. The readers are invited to stand by her, understanding that her breaking point is approaching, and her longing for a family unit is both relatable and moving.

Oh my gosh, the final page of the book is a true gut-punch, leaving readers aching for Harper. As she navigates the challenges of having Travis as a father and the constant public scrutiny that accompanies their life, her resilience really shines through, until that last page.

With the conclusion of their story on the horizon, the anticipation is palpable. The hope that Travis will acknowledge his shortcomings and make the changes necessary for the sake of his family is a prevailing sentiment, and readers will undoubtedly be holding their breath for the well-earned happy ending that these characters have been striving for.

OMG This couple just cannot catch a break..!!
This is another enthralling installment of the ongoing relationship between Travis and Victoria.
We begin were book 3 ended so Travis is in BIG trouble and losing his daughter is a huge possibilty.
Victoria is left to pick up the pieces when Travis is taken to jail and Harper his daughter is upset.
They need to put on a united front to prevent Travis doing jail time..He could lose everything, his job,his daughter and maybe even Victoria.
But cracks are starting to show in their relationship, between media coverage of Travis's downfall and the harrassment they give Victoria..The pressure of being a superstar athlete and being a wife to a NFL player is becoming too much and throws a wedge in their relationship.
Love may not be enough to keep them together.
Honestly Travis has blow after blow to his reputation he keeps making mistakes and starts to resent Victoria because what he did for her caused him to be arrested.
Football is his life and now he could lose that.
Victoria is also becoming resentful because she is being judged by Travis's actions and she starts to lose things important to her.Which sees her taking drastic action.
Once again Lance Greenfield and Callie Dalton narrates this book and they continue to amaze me with their portrayal of Travis and Victoria.
They perfectly tell this story with feeling and heart...I love listening to them they are the ideal voices for Travis and Victoria.
Ending on another nail biting cliffhanger I am begining to wonder if Victoria and Travis will ever recover from the onslaught of bad news.
I really enjoyed this audiobook and I can't wait for book 5..I need to know what will happen to this broken family.
Fabulous story,Magnificent audiobook.
loved it.

Just like with all games the hits keep coming. When Travis, Victoria and harper return from the Bahamas Travis is taken into custody. Not only did Owen have the police meet them at the airport, but also the press. This gives Victoria her first glimpse into how her life with Travis is going to be and she is not sure she can handle it.
Thankfully, Travis does not get in too much trouble legally. However, he is fined and benched for the first three games of the season. He is incredibly upset by this because he wanted to make a name for himself on the team. As the weeks go by, he loses his chance at being a starter and starts to blame Victoria for this. He thinks he would never be this position if he never met her, but his next thought is always that he loves her.
Victoria is realizing that Travis's career is affecting her more and more and she starts to resent him also. This comes to a head when Victoria's ultimate dream is taken from her because the repercussions of Travis's actions.
While at camp, Travis makes another bad decision that leads to more bad press. Victoria is upset with him and the choice he made but is more upset that he did not tell her and she had to find out on social media. And if all of this is not bad enough, enter the girl who can not just let other people be happy and move on. Information about Coax is linked to the media and names are mentioned.
Victoria has had enough and tells Travis she no longer wants to be with him. When he tells the other girl in his life this news, she tells him she doesn't want to be part of his life either......

Forward Progress by Lisa Suzanne is the 4th book in the Vegas Aces Playbook series. Fair Catch ended with Travis's arrest as soon as he disembarked off the airplane back from a destination wedding because he damaged the property of Victoria's ex, Owen. In his attempt to recover the baseball, Owen refused to return to Victoria. Numerous consequences from the poorly thought-out ball recovery keep rolling in as Travis has his day in court while accepting the Football League's penance. Travis feels overwhelmed with all he is facing, including Harper's parents' neighbors trying to take Harper away from Travis' care for monetary gain. The hits keep coming as Victoria suffers the consequences of the fallout of Travis' actions. Both begin to resent each other, wondering about the actual depth of their feelings for each other. Travis's actions lead to moments of regret regaled with negative press that won't go away! Victoria's conflicted emotions stem from feelings of "wife neglect" and the lack of communication between her and Travis. Travis and Victoria have a way to go before they find their HEA and keep Harper. Field Goal, book 5 of Vegas Aces: The Playbook, will show how Travis made a fumble with his two girls, but that he will do what he can to make a field goal or two that will hopefully bring about the win in happiness! Lisa Suzanne will work her "author magic" and pull out a miraculous ending that the reader will love. I am ready to read how Lisa Suzanne makes it happen in Field Goal, the series' final book.

this fourth book in the vegas aces: the playbook was full of drama and I couldn’t not put it down! book three ends with travis getting arrested as soon as they landed from the bahamas and continues on with the trial and the repercussions of his actions against the ex

victoria, on the other hand, is not use to being in the public eye and all of the sudden she is getting blamed for her husband’s decisions. she’s running into paparazzi where ever she goes and she’s trying to keep it together for harper while trying not to break down herself

this was not the love story of victoria and travis though. they hit a rough patch in their relationship and what’s worse is that he has to leave for training camp for two weeks. he barely has time to breath at camp and has limited time to call harper and victoria while he is away

I cannot put my feelings into words about how much I loved this book. I can feel the pain of both travis and victoria written in the pages. they aren’t picture perfect but they cannot see the other side of the story. they try to keep open communication but they are both stubborn and won’t understand the other’s options. when you think everything will be okay, your heart just gets ripped out when they start fighting again

their relationship strains the longer he is away and I am upset on how this book ended. just knowing that lisa has only written hea stories, I’m hoping she doesn’t switch directions now. I am so excited to read the last installment of this book and I’m hoping that victoria and travis will save their marriage

This is book four in this series, and things for Travis and Victoria are falling apart. Thanks to Owen, things go downhill once Travis and Victoria return home after eloping. Their relationship is truly tested in this book. Just when I thought things could not get any worse, they did. Travis and Victoria are questioning their relationship and are no longer communicating well. They allow anger and misunderstandings to overshadow their love for each other. Mistakes have been made, and Travis is fighting to get things back to where they need to be. Travis, Victoria, and Harper have been through so much. I can't help but root for them, and I can only hope they get their HEA in the fifth and final book.

NARRATION:
Callie Dalton and Lance Greenfield did a great job with this fourth book. This story was an emotional rollercoaster, and the narrators did well portraying the intense emotions elicited as the characters attempt to navigate the struggles in their relationship. Callie and Lance continue to impress me with their storytelling and ability to keep me on the edge of my seat. I am really enjoying their performances and can't imagine anyone else giving voices to Victoria and Travis.

Thanks to Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for providing a gifted audiobook. Opinions expressed are my own.

This book was a really quick read! Both in a good way and a no so good way.

The book was called “Forward Progress”, but I felt like Victoria and Travis had a lot more backward progress. They used to be so good at communicating, and with physical distance that’s a huge piece to a relationship, but instead they shut each other out. Which leads to resentment building on both sides.

There was so much drama packed in here. At first, you feel bad for Travis for the chaos storm that Owen drops on him. But then there’s just strike after strike against him. And as he says himself, he just doesn’t seem to have a lot of fight left in him. He makes dumb decisions, barely takes ownership of them, and pushes Victoria further and further away.

On the not so good quick read side, though, I felt like a lot of moments were just glossed over quickly. There were weeks at a time that got skipped over with barely a sentence acknowledging them. Harper seemed to be gone more than she was home, and I feel like her presence is so key to both Travis and Victoria.

The end of the book was so heart crushing! It’s hard to see Harper upset. She is obviously young and doesn’t quite understand the intricacies of what’s happening with Travis and Victoria, but she’s feeling the effects. And I’m sure she feels alone and confused.

Can’t wait to see the end of this series and for Travis, Harper, and Victoria to get their HEA!

Forward Progress by Lisa Suzanne is the fourth novel about the Vegas Aces, the Playbook Series, and the continuation of the story of Travis, Victoria, and Harper. A lot happens in this novel and my stomach felt every bit of the suspense, angst, tension, sadness, fear, love and sizzling hot interactions between Travis and Victoria while awaiting the decision of the Court, the League, the Team, Victoria’s status inside and outside of their home, along with Harper’s complete turnarounds. The chasm that developed between Travis and Victoria is palpable and frightening in the way it starts with a small crack until it becomes the great divide. I was on pins and needles during this entire read and was so emotionally strung out that I reacted as if these things were happening to me! That tells you just how powerful Ms. Suzanne is when she writes and the momentum her words convey to her readers as her stories unfold. Forward Progress had me in tears at times, the sadness and emotional turmoil, the scars and wounds that remain open from Travis’ lonely childhood felt overwhelming, as did Harper’s knowledge that she would just not survive any more losses in her young life. Once again, the Queen of Cliffhangers (Lisa Suzanne) has left me hanging over the cliff, held by a mere thread which is slowly, but persistently thinning as I look on…! I am blown away by Forward Progress!! It took my breath away!!
