This was such a cute and welcoming story. I think the ending could have been flushed more, but overall, I loved it.

Well written, easy to follow storyline. College friends both too scared to admit they had feelings for each other lose touch only to meet up again years later. HEA Got this book via Bookfunnel, Review voluntarily given.

I enjoyed this story when I read it the first time. Now, with the additional chapters it's even better!!! As the first book in the series they can be read as standalones however, reading in order would make them more enjoyable.

The story 'Second Chance Weekend' by Hazel Belle was a really nice "happily ever-after" story that made you feel good. Rylee had had a good friend in college that she had bonded with because they liked the same things and they were more natural than a lot of their college friends. She had hoped that something more would develop out of her relationship with Aiden, and several times she had thought he had the same hopes, but he had never voiced them. Soon after they graduated, Aiden had gone off to the Army in order to pay off his student loans. Rylee wrote to him a few times but she didn't hear from him after that and she was afraid that he had forgotten her. Aiden had been thinking of Rylee through the years after and regretted never acting on his wanting to ask Rylee out as a girlfriend. He thought his chance passed him by. But one day, Rylee was frustrated in being passed over for a promotion and decided to take a long deserved vacation to Big Bear mountain where their college group used to stay in some cabins owned by Aiden's grandfather. It so happened that Aiden now owned those cabins, and he decided to go up and do an inspection on them. There was a sudden snowstorm, and Rylee and Aiden found themselves snowed in while unknowingly staying in the same cabin. They were overjoyed to see each other again and hoped this would be the start of something big.

Rylee takes some vacation time to reconsider her career and runs into an old college boyfriend. They liked each other in college; they like each other as adults. Aiden's one question is whether Rylee is really ambitious enough to be compatible with him.

Points to Hazel Belle for telling it like it is. Even in the 1970s I didn't know any of those men who didn't want their wives to work; in the present century I have met men who admitted filing for divorce because their wives didn't rush back to work six months after giving birth.

What some readers will love, others will hate: Rylee still has all those single friends whose romances will make a series. If you like Rylee and Aiden you'll want to collect them all. I think every novel can't be above average and this is one of the average ones, but that's not to say it's unsatisfactory or won't be some readers' favorite. The fashion industry background may appeal to you more than it does to me.

Anyway, this one's recommended especially to readers who need to be reminded that for some women balancing careers and marriages is dead easy. Not all wives become mothers.

This is a very sweet, clean second chance romance that keeps you turning pages with characters you can't help but like. Rylee and Aiden were close college friends, keeping their true feelings to themselves not wanting to ruin their friendship. But upon graduation, Aiden went into the service and Rylee went after her career and as things happen, they lost touch. When Rylee is passed over for a promotion, she decides to go on a three week vacation to the mountains. She gets the caretaker's cottage and much to her surprise, Aiden is there and has the caretaker's cottage as well. Are there still feelings there between them? Will a snow storm help them face their own personal problems and come together again - or will they just remain as friends like in their past? I really liked these characters and the ending is great. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Don't Ever Dismiss Your First Love

Aiden and Rylee both were some introverted young people in college both being each other's best friend. Then after thier graduation life happened and hardly a word was exchanged over ten years. Ryle saw Aidens contact and decided to just say hello. Both Rylee and Aiden didn't they were good enough for each other letting time and distance come between them. Aiden couldn't believe hee got another chance to talk and see her again. Weeks later Rylee decides to quit work after deliberately being passed over for assistant editor for the forth time in a row, going to the cabins from college after her conversation with Aiden, who decides to also come to the cabin since his staff neglected to do the spring fall maintence. Both ending up in the same cabin during a snowstorm. This was an excellant book and we'll worth the five stars

OMG I just LOVE Hazel Belle. I can't get enough of her writing. From the first word until the last word I never want it to end. I flew through this book and I can't wait to read more of her books. This series has been my favorite so far. You will swoon, laugh out loud and just fall in love with all of the characters. This one is about Rylee and Aiden and let me tell you what a perfect couple. I loved that there was no drama just two people who fall in love. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

Thank you Hazel Belle for allowing me to read this for my honest opinion!

I was asked by the author to read this updated copy with 5 more chapters. More info is given about Rylee and Aiden. During their college years Rylee and Aiden were best friends. They were afraid to lose that closeness by acting on a romance. Then Aiden left for the military and Rylee never had contact with him as she went off to write for a fashion magazine. When Rylee does not get the promotion that she was promised, she takes a 3-week vacation in Big Bear Lake where she had vacationed with friends in the past. Unknown to her, Aiden is also heading to Big Bear Lake. What will happen when they see each other? Will they get that second chance?

This is a sweet, quick read with likeable characters.
Rylee and Aiden were great friends in college but drifted apart after graduation. Both wondered "what if" they had acted on their feelings back then.
Fast forward Rylee doesn't get the promotion she deserves and decides to go on vacation. The resort makes a mistake on her reservation and she ends in with the caretakers cabin.
Aiden is going to the resort ge owns. He too is going to the caretakers cabin.
Fate brings them together and they realize that what they had in college is still alive.
Ryleexand Aiden are wonderful characters. This is an easy read story.

Rylee and Aiden were secretly enamoured with each other years ago while in college but life, careers and years allowed them to drift apart.
Rylee is facing a crisis in her life and gathers her courage and demands a three week break from her selfish boss. Remembering good times and a need to secure a quiet hiatus she goes to a lodge from her youth. Aiden, feeling overwhelmed and annoyed with his staff having not checked the cabins that are due to be let. He decided to go there and sort it himself. This is the basis for the lovely, long awaited coming together of these two shy, intelligent but lonely, even among their wonderful friends. Loved it.

Person gets passed over for a promotion is a high end fashion magazine. Highly upset, she takes a three week vacation to make up for all the years with that she never took a break.

She goes to a location where she had fun with her college roomates years and years prior. She meets a man who went into the military after he graduated.

Enter the second chance of two old friends who rekindle a friendship that has them, once again thinking about the future. Both their business and personal lives.

This was written in POV style, alternating each chapter. Not fond of POV.

This was a very clean read.

If you want to read a book that you wouldn’t be ashamed to tell your mother, teenager, or pastor’s wife about, this book fills the bill. It will hold your interest and have you rooting for Rylee and Aiden to tell each other their true feelings. A bonus for me was reading how Rylee made a life-altering decision. What a brave woman!

Perhaps you don’t have a lot of time to invest in a good read, but on the other hand, you don’t want to feel like you missed out on a thorough story. If that’s you, I heartily suggest reading Second Chance Weekend as soon as possible!

This is an interesting novella with a lot of potential, but the storyline itself seems to be somewhat underdeveloped… The snowstorm pushes two old college flame’s together in a cabin, for the first time in years, but they play monopoly? The storyline needed a little more heat, without burning down the cabin… Also, the ending just seemed to drop off and go away in a hurry, as if the author was trying to meet a publishing deadline? Hazel Belle is a good writer, but it just seems like she rushed this one along too quickly.

This second chance, clean romance is a lovely quick read where two friends, who were close in college and went their separate ways afterwards, are reunited in unique circumstances by being snowed in for the weekend!

Enjoyed the way Rylee and Aiden reconnected while Rylee had important decisions to make for her future both in the world of work and romantically! Felt there could’ve been a little more depth to the story but overall, a feel good read!

Received this is a free copy from the author and this is my own opinion given voluntarily.

I love all things Hazel Belle, and this does not disappoint!! Rylee works as an assistant to a magazine editor. She is expecting a promotion, which she does not get. She decides to take a vacation to the mountains to think things over. Aiden runs his own company, and owns cabins in the mountains, that his Pops used to own. Aiden heads to the cabins to check on inspections, and a snowstorm is coming. Aiden does not know that Rylee is staying in his cabin. They were the best of friends in college and lost touch. Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters.

This book is a true romance about college best friends and the definition of chances. Second chances with romance, professions, relationships, and even life by making old memories into new memories. The author provides an epilogue at the end to drive home the happiness of this book. If you want a pure romance, this is your book. Who knows what the second chances will be in this book and if they are what you expect.

This was a cute, second chance story about old college best friends meeting years later as they ended up snowed in at a cabin.I really liked Rylee, her friends, Darcy and Alexa, and Aiden, her college best friend.  The story was funny at times with Mother Nature.  I especially liked how Rylee's character grew and how she became more assertive about what she wanted to do with her life.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A sweet, clean romance about a second chance at love. Rylee and Aiden meet over a weekend after not seeing each other since college.

The setting at Big Bear Lake is perfect for the story. The main characters have a lot of layers and their humorous banter kept me laughing. They seemed real and I liked them right away.

A lovely story with lots of interest and a happy ending.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and chose to review it. All opinions are my own.

Rylee and Aiden end up sharing a cabin during a snow storm one weekend. Aiden and Rylee were close College friends eight years ago. This book starts with a weekend leading to dating, first kiss, Proposal to wedding giving looks ins to Rylee's friends who join her in starting a fashion brand. This was a cute story with both characters second guessing themselves and their relationship but with fun friend moments.

Fabulous book on!

Life can just be ugly sometimes. And Rylee just got a pile of dirt poured over her. She needs to get away to clear her head. Never in a million years would she have guessed how that getaway would go!

Rylee is such a funny character! You’ll enjoy watching her and Aiden as they explore times of their past together, and see if they’d like to reconnect, especially with all the laughs that are intertwined.

I am a sucker for a good love story and this book was just that. Two long lost friends find each other again who actually fell for each other years ago, but never admitted their feelings. They both realize they still feel the same and are finally brave enough to admit how they feel.
