Read this now! Especially if you're a woman of color

Years ago when I first came across Amanda Frances, she triggered the fuck out of me! "Who does she think she is? Of course money is easy for her bc she's white. This stuff doesn't work for brown, immigrant women like me." However, I was already diving deeper into spirituality, energetic and decolonization work so I knew I had to dive deeper into this trigger. I ended up enrolling in Money Mentality Makeover and started deeply healing my money stories and intentionally applying the concepts. Fast forward to today (Dec 2020) and my business 4Xed even during the pandemic, went from $5K/monthly to consistent $20K+ months, debts are paid off and I know I will quantum leap even more in 2021! I do so much good with my money and have a positively growing relationship with money and building wealth. I read this book and already feel huge energetic shifts! Anything Amanda creates is a money vortex and you absolutely want to be apart of it! Buy, read, integrate and embody the teachings and wealth codes in this book!!!! We absolutely need more conscious women especially women of color and BIPOC folks to heal money stories so we can change our world for the better! Thank you Amanda! I love you!

Update 2023:

I have to drop my rating from a 4-Star to a 1-Star. I see Amanda is now doing a course on how to self-publish. To produce such a low quality book then do a course is not rich AF vibes but scammy AF vibes. She has said she is an expert in money, so she speaks on it. She may have experience in self-publishing but that does not mean the advice is good, current, or that she is an expert. Because she is not an expert in writing or publishing this seems like a money grab, which then devalues everything else she has said and taught. I would prefer to solely rate the book only on content, but as she is using this book as proof of her experience I feel it’s fair to rate accordingly. Had she not created the course I would have kept my rating a 4-Star. I really liked Amanda up until this point, but for me this is a red flag.

What I enjoyed:

I had never heard of Amanda Frances before this. I have read Denise Duffield Thomas’ book Get Rich Lucky Bitch, and if you’ve read that one you’ve basically read this one. Still, I think it’s important to read thoughts on wealth consciousness from multiple perspectives. I enjoyed what AF had to say about how to attract money, surrender, worth and believing in yourself etc.

I truly believe everyone should read books like this. I’m not sure I learned anything new or groundbreaking, but for those new to wealth consciousness you should absolutely read this book.

What I did not enjoy:

1: The grammar, spelling, sentence structure and formatting are poor. If you are a grammar snob this book is not for you. There are mistakes throughout the entire book. I am sure she had an editor, but it honestly seems like nobody read the book before it was published.

2: This quote on pages 179-180:

“An insecure person avoids uncomfortable truths. A weak person is tossed around by everyone else’s views of these truths, abandoning herself and she goes.”

I’m stunned that someone in the counseling/psychology field would write something like this. Listen, it’s one thing to not pay attention to what is going on in the world because you want to be in “love and light” but a huge mental health aspect is not being acknowledged here. If you are struggling to survive and cannot look at the state of the world for awhile, don’t. That doesn’t make you weak or insecure. It makes you human.
If you feel lost, “tossed” by others views or like you abandoned yourself you are not weak. You are human and learning.
If you are uncomfortable with the truths of the world, you are not insecure. You are human and learning.
How in any way shape or form is it empowering to call people weak or insecure who feel this way?
And yes, of course it’s safe and hard to look at these things. Of course it’s necessary. I’m not arguing otherwise. My argument is that the words “insecure” and “weak” put people down and have absolutely no business being in a book aimed to empower women. This needed to be left at “— someone who will do her part to unearth and unlearn systems of oppression that have contributed to the marginalization of other groups.”

All opinions are my own. Any comments arguing with my opinions/ thoughts will be not responded to and immediately deleted as this is my personal space to state my own thoughts/opinions about the book.

Honestly I had to force myself to finish this book. I kept hoping it would get better and it did not.

I fully believe that you have to change your mindset about money to be able to make more money. If you’re looking for advice on that, you’ll find it in this book.

However, I also think that you have to make plans—you can’t just manifest money into your bank account. She mentions more than once that “how” you’ll make money isn’t your responsibility… but it actually is.

I would say this is about 80% fluff and bragging, and then 20% of good advice.

I first discovered Amanda Frances on YouTube in the middle of the first UK lock down. My mental health was at a real low point, being at home allowed me to think of all of the wrong decisions I have ever made that resulted in me still living in my Mum's house with no money and no prospects at the age of 27.

What sets Amanda apart from all of the other mindset coaches is that she really digs deep into why you don't currently have the money/life that you want, and for a lot of people it comes down to feeling unworthy of it. Amanda has helped me work out exactly when and why I stopped considering myself worthy of good things and with the strategies she presents in this book I am slowly but surely working my way through my issues and for the first time in a long time I have hope for the future.

This isn't just a book about money, it's a book about learning to love, trust and believe in yourself.

First of all, I can't be angry that this book has such high reviews. Clearly that means it's helping people, which is great. But if you've ever taken any sort of foray into the world of spirituality/manifestion, you'll see her information is VERY basic. She does really great marketing that makes the book accessible to people who may not otherwise be into the topic. Which is good, but it's frustrating when she spends the first quarter of the book buttering us up talking about how she teaches this stuff better than anyone else, is so amazing at it, is so rich from it, blah blah blah. She literally just gloats about how rich she is for most of the book, which to be honest, I WAS FINE WITH! Part of me enjoyed it. But when you slowly realize her content doesn't go far beyond that, it gets frustrating. The book is 80% fluff with a few good prompts and ideas in there. It's written like a high school essay that is trying to take up space. She doesn't get through a single sentence without giving three different variations of a word and separating it with commas. IT IS SO ANNOYING. "Idea, thoughts, feelings, emotions" is pretty much all you're gonna read. It's exhausting.

This book is the bomb! I have read many, many, many books about money...and Amanda's book is the only one that felt REAL to me. Her transmission on finances is absolutely pure, because she comes from getting the subject deeply. You can feel it in every word. I believe her. Her advice actually moves something deep within me - it is not just a collection of platitudes and self-help hype like most money books, it is an actual energetical transmission from someone who has walked the path and is willing to leave no stone unturned when sharing the lessons. And my favorite thing about Amanda's delivery is her kindness mixed with the flair of being unlimited, unreasonable and fully unleashed - this book is like a permission slip to have it all, and an injection of confidence and courage that can transform you from within. Thank you!

This book has sooo many good nuggets, but it’s overshadowed by her white privilege.

She talks a lot about using the pool at a hotel for free, but most people wouldn’t have gotten away with that. Then she says some messed up stuff later on about how she over came her struggles and other people need to get that. (Will add quote later on.) She doesn’t understand her privilege at all.

Her book does have prompts in every chapter, but her book is a clear entry point to her courses. Most being over $500.

Her money courses and even this book use the same 3-4 testimonials of other women seeing success with her book etc. She definitely needs more proof of her methods being successful. I joined one and returned it, but I was in her group and a lot of the women there weren’t successful.

She also talks heavily about the bonuses she gave her employees, but in California where she and I both live and work, bonuses are taxed 50% so your take home is half of what you are paying the federal government/state government taxes on. I just don’t believe she did that much of a charitable thing. (Unless she gave them that money in a different way.)

In all of her stuff she talks about “her man” who looks like he uses her for her money and free childcare. I’m not 100% sure if she supports him or if he was married when they started dating. Although I’m not for us having no money and men supporting us, I don’t think us supporting men is key.

EFT tapping is NOT a great long term tool. It is simply a bandage for a broken leg. That’s her main tool.

A good course/book on these topics need to deal with mindset and subconscious work. Most of us have so much resistance that we need assistance in healing from. She does get into some of this, but not fully.

Pros/Main Take Aways!

She wants women to make way more money than we ever made before. She isn’t for us constantly scrimping and saving. No matter what let’s make LOTS OF MONEY!

(Will update in future, after I read it again.)

An entire book about wishing for money

I wish I didn't fall for the title. It was completely unreadable and unreasonable.
If 10k months were simply a matter of mindset blocks and "manifesting" more people would be earning it.

Don't bother buying this book... the message is money is all around you just need to raise your vibration and attract it 😂

I do enjoy some mindset/manifestation podcasts so thought I would give this a go. A horrific novel, saved by suggestions of journaling which I do think helps with self reflection and bettering yourself. In the last section the author genuinely starts to say ‘lol’ at the end of sentences and spends pages upon pages bragging about how making half a million a month is nothing to her. I actually got scammy vibes from this book. Could not recommend less.

I'm obsessed with Amanda Frances. She's authentic, tells it like it is, and doesn't hold back. If you follow her on ig, you can hear her when you're reading this book. It's completely her and I love it so much, ill probably read it again.

It was good, but very repetitive, and a bit too self promoting with all the testimonials.
Basically just read the book The Secret and apply it to your finances and income and that's good enough. At least for me.

This book alarmed me more than anything. But, credit where credits due; she's doing well, thus far. And I do believe in Abundance & Cognitive Dissonance ("the you you see, is the you you'll be"). Could though have easily been covered in 20 pages, not 200! What's dangerous is the "kool Aid" drum, banged on every other page... "I remind myself .. The money is coming. More is coming. More and more is coming. It's here, It's mine. The how is not my responsibility". Oh lord, a trumpet call to the masses for short-sighted greed and indulgence. Sells book I guess...

Inspiring and uplifting…

I have loved this book so much. It’s motivated me, enlightened me and put a fire within me. The homework tasks at the end of each chapter are gold. I’ve gotten so much out of doing every one. There are so many great lessons and insights in this book. I can’t wait to read it all again.

Thank you Amanda Frances!!!

Great motivation! But that’s about it. She says in her book “the how is none of your business.” This is completely unrealistic. I don’t appreciate being told having a sh**ton of money is awesome and you should be more open to having more money. However, I’m continuing to give her more chances in her work and it’s because of her impeccable confidence and she is clearly successful. She just doesn’t really spill the beans in this book on how she became so wealthy. I love the motivation and confidence she gives me. I just wish the book was more business focused instead of money focused.

It was good at first, then I got lost in it and felt like every chapter talked about the same thing. Most of the book is about having good energy towards money and how rich she is. It was VERY repetitive of how much money she makes and all the things she’s able to buy. I honestly expected more from this book.

Absolutely LOVE IT!

Absolutely love this book, it was perfection. I am digging in to reread it and can’t wait for the paperback and audiobook. I think this will be the first time I buy all three types of one book. Highly recommend!

The messages and concepts in this book are good... but it didn't feel like a book. I wish it had been structured better and that there was more continuity or narrative progression between chapters. It felt more like a bunch of essays or newsletters or social media posts that had all been pushed together—ESPECIALLY toward the end of the book, when there were random "lols" inserted at the end of a few sentences.

I was also disappointed in the editing of this book. It definitely needed a final proofread (I happened to notice at least a dozen typos and other errors over the course of reading it), and there was even a section where a sentence hadn't been finished. (I read it on Kobo—maybe the wrong edition of the book was uploaded to Kobo?)

The journalling prompts didn't do much for me, although other people I've spoken with who have read this book raved about the prompts. I still think this book is worth a read (like I said, the general content has some really good messages!), but I don't know that I'd feel the need to read it again.

I only read this work for work purposes (I am a commentary content creator) and would absolutely not recommend this book to anyone UNLESS you are looking for the opportunity to avoid reality and live in a delusional fantasy where you can imagine your way to wealth. In that case, this is the book for you.

The entire book is riddled with privilege and empty platitudes as the author makes sweeping statements and oversimplifications about her rise to wealth.

I will add that it’s also incredibly concerning to me the obsession with money that this book perpetuates. As someone who actively analyzes what is happening in the coaching/manifestation space, it is very clear to me the parallels between this money-worshipping behaviour and what could be considered unethical business behaviour.

This just seems to be a recount of how she scammed people into her course with the promise that manifesting and her mindset will be fruitful but honestly it's just her bragging about her multimillion dollar coaching business, lavish lifestyle and multiple properties. Look, good on her for achieving that but I feel her business model preys on people like me who are genuinely trying to improve our financial situation.

If anybody is actually wanting a book to help with their financial situation, I'd recommend She's on the Money by Victoria Devine. She's also got a great podcast by the same name.

Perfect

This book is everything I hoped it would be. AF creates an energy of Lightness around money that is accessible and easy to embody. I truly appreciate and respect the work Amanda put into this book. Thank you for showing up in this time and space. Finally a money book that will make you feel good, uplifted, and inspired to do the work. I’m beyond grateful.

This book was life changing and I don't use that phrase lightly. The energy Amanda has is infectious. Audio book is even better with bonus little extras included that are not in the hard copy book. She also just came out with a journal to do the prompts in which is top-notch. I plan on reading this and listening to this again.

AF is a gem. She writes in a conversational way, and lays down how her idealism is what got her to create an epic reality. We can all learn something about money mindset from Rich As F&ck. The homework at the end had great questions at the beginning, then began to feel a bit more redundant and vague. Not your classic rags to riches story- what really struck me is how unapologetic AF is, and how that has aided her journey to making dreams a reality for her and others.
Some standouts:
- "I've learned you can change anything, by changing the energy you bring to that thing."
- 'when I accept myself as I am then I can change.'
- how to get into receptive surrender mode: "I choose to allow the outcome to be exceedingly and abundantly better than what I've decided to have."
- What benefits you benefits those around you
- doing what you want to do makes you a greater energetic match than things you don't but think it will get you $
- 'bring forth what is w/in you and it will save you- don't and it will destroy you.'
- All outside feedback is a reflection of your inner self-doubt
- If you become arrogant, easily discontented, and difficult to work with, the universe will realign you fast- money is an amplifier and while it won't make you "bad" it can bring out what needs to be healed.
