The Joker is about to realize that raising kids is no joke!
After falling into the same vat of chemicals that turned the Joker into his evil self, Batman is transformed into a baby and Joker finds himself lost without his arch-nemesis.
The Joker takes it upon himself to raise baby Bruce Wayne...but learns that fatherhood is a lot more difficult than he initially thought.
Such a wild concept but done in such a good way. This slice of life manga with a Batman twist was fantastic. The ending was very predictable, but still executed in a way that I thought was satisfying.
this volume wraps up the “single dad Joker & his adopted son, little Bruce (a.k.a. Batsy!)” series! It’s a cute, silly, and fun slice-of-life manga that still managed to make teary-eyed.
This was all good (Bruce is back with Joker, he overcomes his fear for bats (yes really), there are some fun moments with him and Joker, until the time skip which in turn I did like after a bit and I was cheering for Bruce and I loved seeing Joker and Harley do their thing, but then the ending. While I had expected it given things, I still had hoped for maybe a different twist, something different. *sighs*
Waaaaait thats it?? The series as a whole was quite enjoyable, though it felt like there was potential for at least two additional volumes. The conclusion seemed to come suddenly, which was a bit jarring given the otherwise engaging narrative.
Abschluss einer Hammer Story. Ohne In kein Yo.
I loved this volume and the whole series, but it ended so soon. I really just wanted more time with Baby Batman and Papa Joker. Due to this being the last volume, it felt just a tad bit rushed going from Baby Batman in the beginning of the volume to actual Batman transforming back. I honestly could’ve read countless volumes of Baby Batman in depth and him growing up, but it’s ok I still really enjoyed this short series. It was extremely cute, and I loved seeing Joker’s attachment and tenderness to Baby Batman, although him ultimately having an ulterior motive.

the premise is Batman fell into a chemical tank while Joker and Batman were fighting and turned into a baby. HA HA (This was paralel with how Joker was created.) Joker decided to raise Batbaby to become Batman. Afterall what is a villain without his archenemy. The Manga was all about Joker's struggle as a single RESPOSIBLE parent... HA HA the stuations were so absurt and some of them were really hilarious. This is probably the most absurt manga, i have ever read. All the American characters were acting with Japanese mannerism really took the absurdty level up a notch as well.
The Panels which were scenes from The Dark Knight film and Joker film were well pulled off, they were hilarious. Harley Quinn had a big part in the story as well. It was really fun to see a Joker with Nolan Films vibes (especially design vise) with Harley Quinn. They really worked together well in the manga. Batman is my favorite American Comics Character and i really enjoyed this manga. It is a very short read as well, only 21 chapters.
What an absolutely ridiculous concept for a comic but it just works. I really didn’t know where this story would end up but it wrapped up in the most perfect way. You can also tell the mangaka was a huge Batman fan with many references from the most infamous moments in Joker’s comic history. I think one of the reasons manga is becoming more popular is that with Marvel and DC being so focused on creating a massive interwoven canon using the most famous characters, the writers become too restricted and their creativity is handcuffed. Manga on the other hand (primarily) uses original characters so they don’t have to worry about the canon, and can just focus on writing the best story they can. By letting a mangaka write a Batman story, DC said forget the canon and do whatever you want, and we were lucky enough to get a wild concept that comes together in such an entertaining, heartfelt, interesting way Swahili still remaining true to the characters. If you love bizarre takes on a character then this is a must read for you.
4.5 This ridiculous series was just so fun, but also had a real emotional heart at the centre of it that kept it compelling. One of the best Batman stories I've read in years.
They managed to wrap it up just in the nick of time. If they’d attempted to drag out the story (joke) a little longer it would’ve been too much.
Five years have passed and little “Batboy” Bruce is graduating kindergarten. I liked the parallels between older comics in some of the art panels and, of course, a trip to the movies, Harley’s pearls and the walk down the alley because you can’t have a Batman origin without that.
I do think the ending was a bit of a cop out in that we don’t get an actual reason for why he changed back ASAP (other than Riddler’s guesses about what happened) but I do like that it ends with, essentially, saying the joke’s been on us for sticking with this ridiculously silly story.
All in all, a neat little series. Part of me wishes we could’ve seen this as an alternate universe (hell, it’s already a Japanese-Gotham, so it’s quite different) where Bruce had to make his way back to being adult Batman. They even had Alfred and Robin in the know so they could’ve been the ones to raise the Batboy next… I wanted to see what an adult Batman raised by Joker would’ve been like. You know he’d have had a skewed sense of justice at some points.
Alas… Harley & Joker didn’t stay dead and his memories of Joker raising him disappeared. It’s Lazlo and Colin Robinson all over again.
4.5/5

While confronting the Joker, something went wrong. Batman fell into a vat of acid and reverted to infancy. Helpless, Baby Batman needed to be raised again to be the symbol of justice. The Joker reluctantly takes on that task, caring for, teaching, and training the young Bruce to be the same Batman that Gotham City needs. Can the Joker raise the young Cape Crusader, or will his experiment fail?
Joker: One Operation Joker Volume 3 published by DC Comics is the latest work by the team of Satoshi Miyagawa and Keisuke Gotou. This manga-style graphic novel is the third book in a series. Even though it is a fun and uplifting read, the story makes more sense when read in order with the other two books. Batman comics originated in 1939. Since then, every new creative team has put their own spin on the stories. That holds true for this manga comic. Parents will get a kick out of Miyagawa’s story of raising a child with all its struggles and triumphs through the lens of The Joker. Gotou’s artwork is a brilliant blend of the Japanese style of storytelling combined with characters every Batman fan knows and loves. This is an excellent book for the whole family of Batman fans.
Robin takes over. Baby bat sees a real one. Daycare squabbles. Riddler, Harl cameos. Shoulda seen the end coming but it had all the emotions. Maybe the last pages coulda been done a little more cinematic. This is the last issue with some decent size time jumps so pacing for the whole series coulda been inconsistent. I think there should have been another book or two of aging, focusing more on humor and how Harley and Joker changed. Also, there prob should have been callbacks to Robin and Alfred.
I have some mixed feelings about this one, but it held me and I was compelled to read it to the end until the last page. Amazing artwork and an incredibly wacky idea that somehow works out better than I would have predicted. It isn’t to the point that it blew me away in the end, but I ended up loving the ride.
The two first volumes were ok. Not exceptional, but OK. The third one had great references to Batman's comic history, like the pose of the killing joke. Nonetheless, the end felt rushed and too illogical within the illogically of the premise. It left two main plots unsolved (in my opinion) Alfred and Robin. But the art is great and the cameo of Clark was excellent as a running joke.

Just when I thought this series couldn't get any dumber, it does. That ending was atrocious. It makes no sense the way it parallels Batman's beginnings. Just dumb beyond belief. Then Batman turns back into himself because he was left in the rain? I just don't get how the ratings can be so high on this thing. The only thing it is worth is to use it as toilet paper.
This was the last of the Trilogy and i have to say I was hoping for so much more the story just did not wow me. This is the conclusion of the Joker raising baby Bruce to be batman. The ending seemed very predictable. cute manga to have as part of your bat man collection but it kinda ends there with me.
Unpredictable and utterly brilliant. I loved this story, from the off it sounds so stupid and silly but it's genuinely brilliant. Seeing the soft side of the joker and seeing all the references and Easter eggs was brilliant. I utterly loved this book and series as a whole.
"Um, I don't know how to tell you this, but this dude is obviously the Joker." -Robin to Alfred
Not only do we get hilarious appearances from Robin and the Riddler, but a truly epic finale worthy of the Batman legacy. Bat Baby is extra cute in this one too.
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!! WHAT?!?! Where was this energy in the last volume?! All the references were flawless, the Batman universe characters they included and HOW they used them was flawless, the satisfying conclusion and how cyclical it all was. WHAT!! This was great. 👏👏👏👏
Aw, it’s over already? I wasn’t ready for it to end. I want more of their bat baby and joker dad shenanigans and tenderness. Absolutely precious, I loved it
