I need to scrub my brain and my eyes out with soap. What the hell is this? The heroine has a thing for the much older priest. Turns out, the heroine's mom & him are fuck buddies. The heroine catches them in the act, gets turned on, runs back to her room to get off and he follows... then proceeds to help her get off.

The blurb is misleading as hell and I'm so disappointed. What the fuckkkkk.

An age gap story.
A priest in a small town, and you think…
That's an interesting story…

descriptiondescription

Elijah is the priest in a small town, and he's doing sex with Bella's mother.
Bella's father left them when she was a kid, or so her mother tells her...
Everything changes at Bella's eighteen birthday.

descriptiondescriptiondescriptiondescription

I was hoping for a dark story, and this was an effort, but it couldn't.
At least, not for me.

This may be a little too taboo if you are religious, but it didn't really bother me. It is a very quick and spicy novella. This will be perfect if you like a taboo and age gap romance with some daddy kink.

Just be aware this has a pretty large age gap, where the hero is 52 years old, and the heroine has just turned 18.

Bella has been pining after Father Elijah for years and has decided that now that she has turned 18 she will go after her secret desire. Father Elijah has been trying to not cave to Bella's temptation, but now that she is of age and asking for lessons, he can't refuse.

There is the added plot element of Bella's psychotic and abusive mother. It was a little OTT, but that is to be expected in a smutty novella. I kind of wish this was a longer novella (150+) to get more character development and a plot, but it serves it's purpose as a spicy novella.

Thank you to Unalive Promotions for providing the ARC.

I came into this with apprehension knowing that this was an age gap relationship book, which isn’t a trope I really enjoy.

The writing feels like fanfiction, and the word “altar” is misspelled twice in the KU version of the book.

The majority of the plot took place in less than two weeks, the writing and pacing are awful, and the fact that he was dreaming about doing it with her before she turns 18 is vile.

He’s also banging her mom and jerks off all the time without a shred of guilt.

There was some really weird prayer and baptism language thrown in for the smut, and a confessional scene just felt rushed.

The whole book feels rushed and the reveal that her mother killed her father had no impact on me.

I’ve read other priest romances before, and this one really missed every single mark.

I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

This novella is a quick spicy read. If you're looking for an age gap, daddy/good girl read, this is one worth reading.

Bella's been raised by an evil mother who demands perfection and absolute devotion to her rules and church. But on her 18th birthday, her defiance takes hold and she finds solace in her priest.

Father Elijah is in his 50s and has always been drawn to the light that is Bella, but as her 18th comes about, his watching from afar is shattered when an innocent young woman seeks help from her priest.

You'll need to read this book to get all the juicy details and how secrets revealed and love surpasses all.

Check the trigger warnings. For the most part this is on the baseline of morally gray for me.

I signed up for the ARC because I loved the premise and thought this had the potential to rival Priest by Sierra Simone, which was a disappointing read for me. This started very well, though for reading a novella, this took me a while to read (about 2 hours) just because I was listening to music in the background. But I read it in one sitting and stayed up later than I should have, so that says something too. I was a little taken aback when I found out that Elijah was 52 because most heroes are not that old, especially if the heroine is 18. That's a huge age gap. I knew it was a 30-year age gap, but I don't know, I expected him to be 48 like the hero was in Jade West's The Man Upstairs. I don't find 52-year-olds attractive, but I tried to look past it for the sake of enjoying the story. (My bad, I see now that the graphics said 30+ age gap.)

I succeeded lol because I found the sex scenes to be hot. Of course, the "little girl, baby" and "daddy" endearments work very well for that level of an age gap, lol.

Bella was relatable, especially with this line, "The biggest perk of this new year in the life of Bella Thornfield is without a doubt the fact that I can now legally fornicate with any man I desire." That was my favorite thing about turning 18, too...being able to be with older men 😂😂

I know this is a novella, but I wanted more of everything: more backstory, why Elijah became a priest, why he decided to have sex anyway, etc. I would have also liked to know how

The mom was awful, truly defining my tag "horrible-parents", . I would have liked to know Bella's goals and aspirations for the future besides just being with Elijah.

I would have liked some closure at the end. Did they get married? I know they had twins, but did they tell the congregation about them? And how do priests even get married? I would think he'd have to renounce his priesthood.

There were also a few typos (mostly "father" and "mother" needing to be capitalized). Chapter 7 also switched to past tense when the book was written in present tense. Moreover, the maid Gracie, who only was mentioned at the very end of the book, was called "Emily". I think the release was just a little rushed. This is also an ARC, so hopefully, I wasn't reading the final version.

I love the cover & the scene headings for Elijah were gorgeous!

Thank you to the author & Unalive for the ARC! This is my honest review/rating.

Well, this was like a refreshing glass of water.
This is the first time I have read this author, and I am eager to read more of her work.
It was one of the hottest books I’ve read this year.
Well this was like a glass of fresh water.
I’ve not read this author before and am for sure eager to read more of her work.
This book was off the charts hot. With an age gap, taboo trope and daddy kink I loved it from beginning to end.
This was a short packed full of hotness novella.
If you love dark romance with all the tropes above read this. loved it from beginning to end, with its age gap, taboo trope, and daddy kink.
Despite its short length, this novella was packed full of hotness.

*** This was a taboo, age gap, forbidden romance novella that captured my attention from the beginning. Definitely note that this is a taboo romance in a religious setting and not for everyone, I have yet to find a hard no for me and this was not a no for me, but could be for someone else. Be advised and skip if this would be upsetting for you. ***

Okay, all seriousness aside, this was an interesting and quick read. Bella and Elijah were fun to read about and seeing their relationship develop. Despite this being a novella not a full length book, it didn't feel rushed. The story of them and the other plot with Bella's mother came to a close nicely. The ending definitely gives way for more to their new life. It was a fun read and looking forward to what's next from Tristina.

The story line was great but quite predictable but its alrightt
The Priest x Innocent virgin girl trope was nice! though I wished the spice was more lasting and intense. I only loved the baptise smut scene other than that it was just plain ol' smut

So, you know if I see a book that says 'age gap, daddy kink' I'm going to be needing it ASAP, and once I got this delicious novella - I was hooked from page one.
You get your forbidden relationship - he's a priest and she's only just turned 18. And we even get a great scene while she's gone to confessional!

If you're looking for a quick, incredible spicy read - then this is the book for you.

If you consider yourself religious, be warned... there's some smut here that is downright blasphemous, but hot damn did I love it! We're all going to hell anyway.

I love an age gap, and this novella has the mother of all age gaps. Bella, who just turned 18, decides that the one thing she wants for her birthday is the town's Priest, a 52 year old man who she's had a crush on for years, and boy does she get her Priest. The story was super fast-paced, and it left me wanting to know more. Despite this, it was still a good, fun read that even had me blushing at times. If you know me, you know I don't blush easily.

Rating: ⭐️.5

Tropes/content: Age gap (30 years), priest romance, daddy kink, virgin main character, praise, forbidden, light breeding kink, baptism scene 👀

⚠️Check triggers⚠️

Bella has been secretly pining after Father Elijah for years, but never given into her desires. When she turns eighteen, she decides she's ready to make her move. Father Elijah wants Bella, but he tries to fight his desires. When she tells him she needs his help learning about pleasure, he can't help but say yes and becomes her daddy.

This book had so much potential, but ultimately, it fell flat for me. There's a few issues with this book. The first is the length. This book is way too short for everything in it. Bella and Elijah barely have time to develop a relationship. I think instalust can be done well, but it didn't work here. On top of their relationship, there's a plot line between Bella and her mom, Bella's mom and Father Elijah, and one with all three of them. There's barely any time given to those plotlines and everything happens so fast. It's chaotic in a way that isn't enjoyable because you can't get invested as a reader.

My other issue was the way plotlines were dropped. Father Elijah has a plotline with her mom that's never talked about after it occurs. We never understand why it happened, how it started, etc. Bella witnessed it, which knowing how she feels about him, makes it hard for me to believe she wouldn't have questions. Another one is that Father Elijah is a priest. Priests can't have sex. Yet, Father Elijah does and says he's going to marry Bella. Now how does that work? How can he be a priest and marry her? At the end, he's still a priest and they're together at the church. It doesn't make sense and is never really explained.

My last major issue is with the spice. Some of it was good. There's a scene where he tells her to "baptize his 🍆 in her 💦" so they can be reborn together. So hot. Yet, a lot of the spicy scenes felt corny and lacking any feeling. This is supposed to be a super forbidden/taboo relationship, but the spicy scenes don't have much behind them except for a few parts. I think some of that comes down to the writing (overuse of exclamation points during spicy scenes) and the lack of connection to the characters because of how fast paved the story is.

Thank you to Tristina and Unalive Promotions for the early copy.

Did we all read the same book?? This was literally cringey, I know it’s a novella but I needed more of a story or explanation on a lot of things the mom is a bitch and deserved to die, the whole husband kill thing was not even necessary, the author had too many ideas and thrown them out and confused me 😂💀

This was a fast paced novella, it wasn't as dark as the rest of her books , but it was still good, balancing on a thin line off forbidden and desires. It was deliciously spicy. This one had me angry, laughing, wanting slap a bitch to needing a cold shower. It has age gap, taboo, daddy kink, forbidden desires and a crazy ass mother. With secrets and twists you just don't see coming. I loved their story even if it was a little crazy. It took me on the crazy train ride, that I just couldn't stop reading. Such a great little read.

Elijah is the priest in a small town, he's been apart off Bella's life for a long time, her and her mother attend his church. He's an older man 52 years off age. Hes tangled in a web off secrets that he don't want to be in. And lately his dreams have been plagued with naughtiness that he has been doing with Bella, but he tells himself over and over it's just a dream..but his thoughts are also filled with naughty things him and Bella. He needs to get himself under control, he's walking a dangerous line.

Bella is turning 18, she's such a sweet and innocent girl. That's trapped in a world off misery and just wants to be free, free off her evil mother. But she's has to grin and bare it for now. She's got a crush on our father and doesn't think anything will happen due to their age etc.

On the night she turned 18, she's woken up with noises and goes to find out what it is. She finds out the noises are coming from her mother's room and takes a closer look to find her mother is having relations with father Elijah, she's appalled but can't take her eyes off the scene that's playing out Infront off her. She realises that father Elijah is watching her and she runs away. Father Elijah is on his way out when he hears noises from Bella's room and goes to make sure she's ok. And finds her naked in front of her mirror , trying to please herself but failing. She's finds him standing there and begs him to teach her. He should refuse but he can't and that's when they're forbidden journey begins.

There's so much more to the story and so worth the read. Highly recommend.

This one's a miss for me. There are a lot of typos. I’m not usually one to count that against anyone in an advanced copy, but when you’re writing a book about a Catholic priest and not capitalizing Lord, God, Father, ect. I can’t let it slide. There is no way those characters would ever not capitalize those words. I also thought it was an interesting choice that his nickname for her is little halo, as in the glow that denotes something’s holiness, when really she’s the opposite of that to him. It felt like he went with that name because he was trying to not go with angel and that was close enough, but it doesn't make a lot of sense in context and its just a weird one.

I felt like their relationship relied too much on off page events. It felt like we, the reader, are just watching the climax of a much longer chain of events and we really could use more of that story on page. The plotline with Bella’s mother also was wrapped up way too quickly and neatly to feel believable. It felt like the book was supposed to end and we had to finish this somehow so here you go. It doesn’t address whether or not Elijah is still a priest. Was he defrocked? Did he renounce his vows and get a dispensation? Is he just still a priest and everyone is pretending they don’t know? Did Elijah and Bella get married? The epilogue addresses none of these things and is essentially a final HEA spice scene. I would have loved to explore how Bella's mom is essentially holding both of them hostage in different ways and to see them bond over that. This story had a lot of potential to be really interesting, but just fell short. I feel like it could have used a pass with a developmental editor or beta readers.

On Your Knees is the story of Bella, an 18-year-old girl brought up in an extremely strict, religious home, finding solace and sin on her knees at the feet of a 52-year-old local priest, Father Elijah. It's a quick and steamy read with some taboo elements—not just the age gap or religion, but some of the behind-the-scenes action involving Bella's mother too.
There's a little bit of a back story teased throughout the story, including the mention of blackmail and murder; however, they aren't fully explained in an overly detailed way, but they still add to the characterisation of Regina, the main female lead's mother. On the outside, she comes across as strict, proper, and devout to her religion, but behind closed doors, she is cruel, callous, and psychotic—and not afraid to sin if it gets her what she wants, even if it hurts those she should care about, like her daughter.
Bella craves affection, and she's always had a little bit of an attraction to Father Elijah, but as a teenager, she never had the bravery to attempt anything. Freshly turned 18, she catches her mother and Father Elijah having sex, and through a mix of jealousy and arousal, she propositions him, which leads to some very naughty moments. Expect a dirty mouth and lots of use of the word Daddy.
It's a quick read, and their relationship is very fast-paced, as Father Elijah is also attracted to Bella and is all too happy to act on it. There is some plot, but it's not overly heavy, with the main focus being on the taboo nature of the relationship. I enjoyed what I read nonetheless, and I would look out for more from this author in the future.

❤️‍🔥I'm not rating this as a four star just because I felt weirded out a little at their relationship not because this book wasn't well written (which it was!). This might contain spoilers so if you don't want it spoiled please stop reading here! Ok what was weird to me is she is just turning 18 and the MMC who is I believe in his fifties made the remark that he has been looking at the FMC in a romantic/sexual way for awhile... So before she even turned 18. Which is just giving pedo vibes instead of what we are clearly looking for. Then he keeps calling her his "little girl" which just added to my ick vibe since he has said that he acted as a sort of father figure since hers was gone. Like I saw the vision and if it wasn't for a few weird lines this book would have been a 4 ⭐ 4 🌶️ read for me. But once my mind was like "ew that's weird" I just couldn't get past it. Again though this book was still well written for a taboo novella and if you can get past those weird lines and you enjoy these tropes I highly suggest this book!

This is a huge age gap, small town, priest falls in love with a virgin romance. The priest is fifty two years old and the young woman is eighteen.

The priest in this story is named Elijah. He is a Priest in a small town. There is a young woman who goes to the church with her mother named Bella. Bella in this story is just turning eighteen years old. Her father was said to have left her when she was a kid which was told to her by her mother. Her mother apparently isn’t a good person. She is having sex with Father Elijah and Bella sees them and attempts to take care of herself after seeing them. Elijah catches her watching them and he goes to Bella. He ends up having sex with Bella who has just turned eighteen.

You don’t get any background on Father Elijah in this story. You don’t know why he became a priest or what he did before becoming a priest. You don’t know what Bella is studying in school or what she likes to do outside of school. Elijah and Bella have sex throughout this story. He even does something in the church which isn’t very priestlike. He thinks of Bella in very dirty ways. You don’t see them dating in this book. They just have sex. There isn’t a plot to this story and there isn’t any background of the people in this story. I wish that this had been a longer book and more background shared in this story.

ARC READER

*Spoilers Ahead*

The story line was great but I wanted more! The story was rushed and didn't allow me to connect with Bella and Elijah.

The fact that her mother killed her father was just thrown in there unnecessarily. It did not add anything to the story.

I would have loved more of the back story to Elijah. Why become a priest and not follow the rules and still stay a priest?

How did Bella find out about her dad being murdered? When did the staff turn against Bella's mom? There are a lot of gaps within the story.

The epilogue also did not add anything to the story. It was slapped on to just add another smut scene and confirm that they had children. Which was not necessary.

The smut was well written 🌶🌶🌶 and I appreciated this.

Some chapters repeated themselves throughout. For example, how Bella is trying to hold out on her mothers behavior until she can get out of that environment. It was repeated a lot within some chapters.

I love the cover art of the book it's very cute and represents the story well.

Thank you Tristina for allowing me to read this ARC and to unalive promotions for doing an awesome job promoting these books!

[be sure to read the trigger warnings before reading and if you’re religious then this might not be for you]

The concept drew me in instantly as I had been looking for forbidden priest romance stories. But this overall wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Knowing it was only a short book I went in expecting it to be fast but maybe this was a tad too fast for my usual liking. 😗

I wished we spent more time with the main characters and got to learn about them more. Specially when it came to our heroine (Bella) as she grew up with a manipulating and controlling mother. And as the book neared the end it all seemed one big rush to wrap up. 🫣

For me this was “a heat of the moment” type of book, I read it mainly for being in the right mood at the time and I felt like reading something taboo and sinful. This was smutty and our priest had a dirty mouth, so I wasn’t left too disappointed when it came to the romance and smut 🤭😏.

I’d give this a (low) 3/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Forgive me, father, for I have sinned. It’s been twenty days since my last confession.”
Bella is plagued by impure thoughts. Thoughts that a young, God-fearing woman shouldn't have. Father Elijah cares for his flock. He offers aide to those who need him. What happens when the sin is far too sweet to deny?

Well, hellooo there, fellow sacrilegious fiends. I come bearing a gift in the form of an 85-page filthy forbidden romance novella!

This one kicks off with Bella, who is a young, inexperienced woman. We learn quickly that she has budding impure thoughts about a man well above her age. Not to mention his career choice...it makes things difficult. I am a gremlin for these types of books, I love everything about them. The question in morality, the attempted resistance (or lack thereof), and the building fantasy come to life. Father Elijah's character had me fanning myself every few minutes. Something about a man of cloth having a filthy mouth just does something for me 😏 Due to the short nature of the book, things move quickly. Have no fear! It works out well.

The premise of this was fantastic and drew me in immediately. But unfortunately, this novella fell short for me. I would love to see more development of these characters, even if it leads to more of a novel than a novella.

It felt rushed (even though it took me several settings to get through.. and even by novella standards..) and I felt that a lot of the relationship between Father Elijah and Bella relied on off page events that we were seeing culminate in On Your Knees. I would've loved more backstory- Why did Elijah become a priest? What happened with Bella's dad? How did he get entangled with Bella's mom? How did he manage to find himself obsessing over Bella? Did Bella care about anything else other than being with Father Elijah?

And how did it all end? We know they have kids, did they ever get married? Having kids out of wedlock is generally a big no-no. Is he even ALLOWED to get married or would he have to denounce his priesthood? It just felt like everything hit a climax and was wrapped up like "Okay, there we go, everyone's happy. Yay!"

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is a dark, taboo, age gap romance. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. This book takes place in a small town and I love the settings in small town romances but more so when something is going on you would never think was happening. It is also a novella so it is a quick little read that might just have you blushing at times. This is the story of Elijah and Bella. He is a priest and Bella has a very strict mother who has raised her to live life as a good girl. Never doing anything wrong and she is using the help of the local priest when she needs to. Elijah is that priest. However Bella has always had a thing for Elijah and now that she is turning eighteen she knows that this is her chance. Confessional will never be the same for anyone who does confessionals. You'll be thinking about that scene for a while. I can't say anymore about the book or I will give something away. It is a great little age gap romance.

On Your Knees is a novella that leaves you wanting more. Author Tristina Brockway tells the story of Bella and Father Elijah with sharpness and quickness. Her writing is pointed, and she uses just the right amount words to describe the situation. This is the coming-of-age story of Bella, who has just turned 18 and is curious about her sexuality and Father Elijah. Bella’s mother Regina Thornfield uses her privilege and power over both her daughter and The Priest to obtain things over both. However, shy, innocent Bella develops a voice to pursue her interest and learning about her own sexuality. And Father Elijah is willing to help her. The steam and spice melt the pages of this book. 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️This is a fun and easy read. Just enough drama and just enough spice.

"Then again, my soul is already marked for hell, so f*ck morality. If I'm going to hell, it might as well be worth the ride.

Listen.. I'm all for taboo, Forbidden romances.
But I just feel dirty after reading this (and not in the good way)

I don't know if it was the large age gap, or just the fact she LITERALLY just turned 18. I'm going to bet it was HER age.

Was it spicy? I guess. Like I said, it just made me feel dirty.
The plot wasn't super great, but it probably wasn't meant to be.

And the little twists thrown in at the end just seemed rushed. Yes, it was a short book, but I've read short books before that I absolutely devoured, and they left me wanting more.. this one made me feel like I needed to apologize to God immediately.

I'm sorry, this just wasn't for me.
