Brielle 's first book. And I'm happy I got to be one of the ARC readers. Now I can't wait for the second part of the story. Jake and Rose, the high school sweet hearts. These two are so different compared to each other. Jake being the town' s Bad Boy with a dirty mouth and Rose being the cute and sexy nerd , yet they fit so well together I loved it . I also loved Kristy and Tyler's chemistry there. The surprising Ending of the story has me in knots. I really wanna know what happens next but alas we have to hold our horses and wait. Anyways I can't say anymore than I did,
you'll have to find out to see for yourself . It was indeed an interesting read to me.

ARC REVIEW
Rose is the typical good girl, always focused on good grades and trying to enjoy her last year of high school with her best friend Kristy by her side. She’s very happy with her routine and very easy going, calm life. Until Jake, the new boy in town and school, starts getting to her and makes everything so not calm anymore.
Jake’s is what you call the teenager bad boy, the one that all the girls want, even you bahaha. Rose doesn't want to deal with him but of course life and mostly Jake isn't planning on keeping it that simple
I think maybe i'm not the specific target for this kind of books anymore and it kinda makes me sad… i truly enjoyed Brielle's writting and withered sounded so promising, that's why i was so excited to read it! Rose and Jake's story was such a rollercoaster, with all the tension and cute moments but i just wasn't able to truly connect with the caracters.
I still had a great time while reading it. If the blurb speaks to you and you know you love a good girl/bad boy high school romance i can only recommend you give Brielle's work a chance and get to know Jake and Rose but also Tyler and Kristy, the best friends ✨

Okay…. I LOVEDDDD this so much, but trust me when I say you are going to me an emotional mess by the end of it!
We follow our mmc Jack and fmc Rosie. They are such beautifully written characters and I loved how no emotions were hidden throughout🫶🏻 Jack is honestly the sweetest and I loved rose so much for just being rose🥹
The side characters Tyler and Kristy were such fun too, they are so cute and I feel like I am already obsessed with them!
But WOAH can we take a minute for THAT ending?!?! I was left on the edge of my seat and I seriously need the second book right now! I just need to know everything as I love these two so much💜
I am extremely excited for what’s to come and I recommend this story to everyone🧸

first of all i want to thank @ for sending me her book and giving me the opportunity to read and review it before it came out.
withered isn't exactly the kind of book i'd usually read, but with the trope it just seemed too good to not apply for the arc. i didn't really know what to expect but i ended up really liking this book. withered just gave me teen movie vibes and it was such a change from the books i read.
i liked rose. she was such a great character and i loved how we got to see different sides of her. i also liked kristy and wish we'd gotten more of her during the book. however, i didn't like jake, the mmc so much. he had his mood changes and the way he treated rose sometimes just wasn't it for me.
like i said before, it's not the kind of book i usually read but it was such a fun read and i think that people should definitely give it a chance.

I loved it and if you guys don't know I majorly took 7 hours to finish the book but I read it in one sitting straight for 5 hours and tadaaaa your girl finished it!😂😌
It would have been okay if the chapters were a little less lengthy and a little less detailed but fine every book has it's own way to engage the reader! It is very well sequenced honestly I was able to connect the whole thing one after the other and that made it fun! I cannot wait for you'll to meet the characters, they are absolutely adorable!
And highlights might be a recommendation if you like any of those thing!

First of all congratulations to @author_brielle for writing such an amazing story and making me miss Hardin, Nick and Ares 😩
Rose is the beautiful and sweet girl next door and Jake is the bad boy who is new in town. When Kristy aka Rose’s best friend makes her go to the party organised by Jake’s best friend Tyler they meet and let’s just say it’s not a meet cute 😉
Jake has not only the bad boy energy but he is also plays football/soccer and yeah he is smart too which irks Rose even more.
What can go wrong? Well he is her neighbour too.
I loved how their story involved and how they grew close to each other 😭 the ending was not what I expected but I also can’t wait for the next book in this series.
The importance give to side characters was so great and I loved all the moments they both had with not only their respective families but also with each others.
All in all this book was a great read and makes me miss my Netflix boyfriends 😭😭

let’s start this this arc review with some quotes so u’ll see how rose can be such a mood:

“All those cheesy books and those fictional characters have screwed me. I want someone like Mr. Darcy; it’s because of him that I’ve got high expectations now.”
what’s to say about her i liked her and i think u can easily relate to her in different ways that u have to discover by reading the book ofc 😁 i can’t wait for book 2 bc i’m sure we’ll see a stronger rose after everything that happened in this book and after the final bc I need to see her more stronger bc yes.

Thank you Brielle Anne for sending me this arc forever grateful. (Please note that she will be paying for my therapy until I get book two 😚😜🫶🫶)
I truly have no words…. I just finished the book and had to write my review now. I’m in pain that the fact that I’m left with this ending right now💔 the need for a book two is overwhelming. Let me just say when I first started reading this book I wasn’t convinced I was really gonna like it. I’m not sure when the switch happened but suddenly I was completely invested in the damn book and could not put it down!!! I just fell in love with the characters and where I thought the book was going to take me.
When I was reading the book it 100% gave me wattpad vibes. It was so nostalgic for me because I lowkey miss reading books like that. I think it was the fact that this was a high school setting but also the overall way the book was set up to me gave me major Wattpad vibes and I absolutely loved it!!!
As of right now Jake is on my list of people to GET!!!because this man was so damn confusing and the mix signals were crazy. But he did have his sweet and tender moments. Honestly I am feeling for my girl Rose right now 💔 She is an absolute sweetheart and deserves a mountain of answers😡 this book was so confusing, adorable and addictive everyone needs to get their hands on this book NOVEMBER 11th so everyone can feel what I am feeling so I am not alone 🙏🙏

First of all brie , I want to let you know that jake is my top tier boyfriend and he has made his name to my top 6 book boyfriend list.🥹🫶🏼
The characters and their story was so damn amazing like you'd feel yourself connect to each of them at some point. Also the friendship of Tyler and Rose it was chef's kiss.
Also also on the note of friendship,let's talk about out star friendship Duo "Kristy & Rose" (Alexa play If We Have Each Other by Alec Benjamin - yes this songs screams them). The way they had each other's back. Like you know how little of female friendship rep. We have in books , the truly generous female friends without an ounce of jealousy??? But Brie did this.<3 I love u more for that.
Now let's talk about Jake & Rose 😭🤌🏻? How do I say it without spoiling the story for you all??? Let's just say they're kind of academic rivals & live as neighbour, they hate each other but he likes when she's around even though he doesn't show this??? Yess a bad boy × good girl trope (also the said bad boy is from London and he has DIMPLES - come on now what more reason you needs??)

╰┈⫸To say that I love this book would be an understatement. I started this book as a beta reader and I've seen the characters grow into what you guys would read today.
I'm so very proud of bri and of everything she has overcome to write this beauty of a book. this book was one hell of a fun and exciting read!!! it was a little bit difficult for me to get into the book but other than that, i can assure you it's one h3ll of a cute book. rose is a sweetheart and i will fight whoever claims that her personality is bland. unfortunately, i couldn't like jake much because he always keeps smirking which gives me the ick 😭 every character in this book is actually lovable (well other than some f**kers). this book will also send you into a whirlwind of nostalgia and make a tiny pweeeny part of you miss those wattpad days where you'd stay up all night to read the cheesiest, corniest romance ever.
yes this book is cheesy af, in a way it will make you giggle and throw your phone across the bed. AND THE TAYLOR SWIFT REFERENCES OMG!!!!

First of all, Brielle, how dare you write a debut book that makes me sob for 10 minutes when I finish it! And now, I know I have to wait probably a year before the next in the series!!! My heart cannot handle how long I’ll have to wonder what happens next and we get more of Rose and Jake! RIP
To any readers:
Please give this book a chance. It is a high school romance book with such authenticity that I felt like part of it was my own story. The writing is so good, the story keeps you engaged, and the spice was just enough to again make the book feel so genuine and authentic. (I don’t want to give too much away)

This book made me laugh, cry, smile, sad & almost every emotion. I loved the way Jake & Rose love each other. Me, being a sucker of Bad Boy×Good Girl Romance, loved this beautiful novel to bits & pieces. The anatomy of the book was extremely well written & it's characters are well-nuanced. The ending had me in such a surprise & left me wanting for more. As the revelations happened in the book, I was intrigued by the way the protagonists had a wonderful character development accordingly. Well, Brielle has become one of my Automatic-Read authors now & I seriously can't wait for Book 2. Jake & Rose as individuals are wholesome in a different kind of a way, which added to the beautiful chemistry that they had throughout the entire book. It was a wonderful read, a captivating one with heartfelt & toe-curling moments.

i now i always say this but this book had me giggling! especially because of freaking jake. jake is the biggest flirt and softie (only to rose😏) even though he would irritate me sometimes with his mood swings, i understand some of the reasons he acted the way he did. i would say the way jake treated rose sometimes didn’t rub me the right way. i really liked rose and how you get to see her develop throughout the whole story. also rose and aria’s relationship was everything🥹
i have never been in a relationship before probably because my standards are too high! i blame fictional men for that😂 but i feel like this describes well what a realistic first relationship would look like. it shows how teenagers tend to overreact and make things much more complicated than they actually are.
one of my favorite things of all time about books is when you finally understand why the cover is what it is. all I have to say is the dragonfly is significant😉 and when jake took rose to his little hideaway🥺

What fun and quick read for me! Its been a while since I’ve read typical bad boy x good girl high school romance and its was exiting to dive back in all of this teenage drama, hormones and situations with this book. Reading this story I remember some of my own moments and once again its was like a reminder of how when we are young we tend to overreact and over complicate some situations and of course how much & how deep we feel in our teenage years. Rose and Jake were navigating their high school year together, learning not only about each other but also about themselves, story lives in cliffhanger so we have yet to find out how their story gonna continue.

I have this book a 1.5 stars. I DNFd this book at 79%. The writing is not something i really liked and the characters fought over conflicts that weren't even conflicts and they were so dramatic about things that didn't even matter. It wasn't even like enemies to lovers because they got together basically immediately. Even though they weren't bf gf they were still together. They got together like 60 percent though and i just couldn't go through them just having small fights and getting over it. I didn't give this book one star though because i still enjoyed some parts.

I read this book as an ARC-Reader. What a fun and quick read for me! It's been a while since I've read typical bad boy x good girl high school romance and it was exciting to dive back high school teenage drama. Rose and Jack were navigating their high school life together and get to know each other. And they also find their new side when they are together. Well, the story ends on a cliffhanger, so we've yet to find how their story unfolds more. So excited for the next book.

I have a tendency to read a book from one quote of insta so i saw this book and was like “oh a cute little high-school romance cute” IT WAS NOT BUT IT WAS AT THE SAME TIME.
My friends are so done with me talking about it but i can’t stop. This book omg i don’t what was in it but it was addicting and i loved it one second i was smiling and giggling the next i was going like what that actually then a sentence later sobbing.

I liked the story, but there were some grammar errors. In my point of view, there were useless descriptions and at some point I got bored. I would have prefered to know Jake's pov, but maybe in the next book.
