In a world plagued by rage and despair, survival is their only hope.

It starts with the internet whispers of a mysterious and devastating virus sweeping across the nation, sending ordinary people into a bloodthirsty rage.

After that, it doesn't take long for the country to fall apart. Riots sweep through the cities. Law and order crumbles. Survivors desperately scramble for shelter in a new world of unprecedented violence. Amidst the chaos, five strangers' lives intertwine, leading them on a harrowing journey where survival is the only thing that matters.

David, a grieving father, sees the news of riots at the local hospital. Knowing his estranged daughter works there, he sets out on a treacherous mission to reunite with her in the midst of a crumbling society.

Trapped in a hospital as the city descends into chaos, Keira, a resourceful young nurse, is torn between her determination to save lives and her desperate desire to escape the horrors of the outbreak.

Nisha, a deaf teenager, fights to escape her school where the infection is spreading rapidly, while battling with the limits of her disability.

Dwayne, a enigmatic criminal burdened by a haunting past, embarks on a quest for redemption amidst a city teeming with nightmarish infected terrors.

And Pete, a once loyal police officer deeply committed to the city he loves, finds himself torn between protecting its people and the desperate search for his missing wife, whose life hangs in the balance.

As the outbreak intensifies, and as their paths converge, they must face a myriad of dangers, from rampaging infected hordes to the unpredictable depths of human nature.

Can these unlikely heroes overcome their fears and find a way to save themselves, or will they succumb to the nightmarish forces that surround them?

Brace yourself for a pulse-pounding post-apocalyptic tale of violence, sacrifice and darkness in a terrifying new world. Packed with complex characters and laced with the author's trademark shocking twists, The Infected Chronicles have begun, and this relentless, page-turning fight for survival will leave you breathless.

The first book was okay. A little bit different then other Zombie Books. The focus is on the star characters, and this focus is huge.

I am now at book three in the middle - and it is still the first day, still in the first 7 or 8 hours.
It is great to have a background on the characters, it is great when not the entire focus is on fighting. But in this books - it is way, way too much.
It would be no wonder if I would dream of the background from the characters. This entire three books could be in one book if not for the repetition of repetition of repetition and so on.

After Book one you knew everything by heart what the characters are thinking, what they are regretting - it is always the same and it goes on and on and on. Like I said - if it would not be for the internal monologue of the same memories, the same regrets, the same thinking, it would be only on book - cause other then that, a bit runing, always escaping in the last moment (30times? or more?) there has nothing happend.

And there are so much logical errors - yes it is fiction but still. A lot of them ran and ran, never drinking - but at least three have repeatedly pissed themself. Not once, not twice... A child, I understand. Maybe an adult once - but twice? Without drinking?

"Fighting" Scenes - more like oh my god I am gonna die, cause they are feet away from me, I must run, but the window is closed. Oh yet I have enough time to open it and get through even if they were only feet away and are often described as so very fast.

How did Keira escape from the childrens ward when the infected were so close and the chair wobbled or even fell over? And after that escape she is outside or where from the hospital and sees her dead standing bevor the childrens ward through all the smoke?
And before that, what elevator closes its doors when it is not working? Fire safety?
Later in the school when David wants to escape - the door is only opened from the outside. Yet againg - fire safety? Fire escapes?

And I understand that it is good sometimes to have a bad character. But Pete? Pete is a police officer, harrassing his wife, then killing the new boyfriend, thoughts like multiple personalitiy - psych evaluation as police officer? Never heard?

It is too much - illogical, character monolouges, the story does not progress. I stopped at the middle of book three, I just could not read it anymore - and I have read more then 240 Books this year - more then 90% of them with Zombies or alike - and other then this series I only stopped reading one other series.
So I am not even that critical I think.
I read "Survivin the Virus" Series from this Author - and I rated it 4 Stars - all books of it. So I really dont know how this series is so bad for me - personally. Sorry, but I can not help it.

A very tense narration

I've read and watched several versions of apocalyptical stories, zombie style, but this is the first time I see the focus on the victims just before they are bitten. It's more common to follow only the survivors, so let's say it honors the fallen as well as the survivors.
This is a thriller, no doubt about it, there is always something happening. The fast pace narration leaves you no room for peace.
Every chapter explores the point of view of one character, for those who stay alive longer they will have more than one chapter. The characters are realistic with different tones or grey.
Looking forward to reading the second book.

Like a prequel

Knowing it is the first in a series I was reading it trying to take in all the information about quite a large group of characters all at once and hopping around between their stories took me while to get on board with each of their stories especially as I was wondering who it was important to care about and who might bite the bullet early on! It was a good story telling how things got started jut you could definitely feel that it was written to set up a series and almost had a feeling of a prequel about it written after the fact to go back and explain. Will be interesting to read more in the series and see how it progresses.

Could not have asked for a more perfect zompoc book!

So fast-paced and engrossing, I could literally feel myself running! This book follows five different characters in five different scenarios running and trying to escape the beginning of the zompoc. The zombies are runners, and bites are contagious. The characters' stories are so well written that you become dragged into their struggles, feel their doubt, fear, and losses. I only found two misspelled words in the entire book.

I love a good action packed horror novel with memorable characters, and high stakes. That's what this book was; a fun, harrowing journey from beginning to end.

I'll admit, the repetitive lines and phrases did get to me; there were a lot of sentences that didn't need to be repeated. But I do understand the author trying to emphasize the dire situations. So, I overlooked it for the most part.

Overall, a great read for any zombie fan!

Good Beginning of the End

I've had this book in my Kindle Library for awhile now. I'm glad I finally go to it. It was good but has some errors so I had to re read some parts. It had some funny parts too so I was thinking its a comedy. I can't believe the things the characters were doing. Who really knows what we'd do in apocalypse though. Now I'm invested in the story, I'll read on to see if anyone else survives.

Super enjoyable read!!

Great characters, great storytelling and all in all just a great book to start what promises to be a highly satisfying series. I enjoyed the characters, the action, and yes, even the zombies. It’s fast paced and hard to put down, so bravo to the author, well done indeed!

Hard to put down

At first I thought that this was going to be a bit let down. I was very much impressed with it. You have to read this book. A word of advice, ignore the titles of the chapters it was confusing at first but then I just started reading the chapters it flowed better for me. You need to read this book it will be very hard to put down once you get started.

Good premise but slow and repetitive writing

I am up to book 3 but don’t know if i can handle the constant repetitive prose. The story idea is great and i am interested to see where author takes each character however every step is drawn out and repeated and i find i need to skip every second page to keep the story moving along.

Good story line

Really enjoyed the alternating POVs. I like reading different perspectives and they way different people process situations. Easy to read, great characters, and intense drama to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Gripping start to the series

I was hooked from the 1st page, such a page turner. I love that it was from different perspectives of different characters. I can't wait to find out more about this series.

This is a great beginning to an epic zombie apocalypse book. The characters are fantastic and relatable. They draw you in and the story keeps you there until the end.
