he's not your typical biker
... the end 🤨
this being said, I liked these two more than the couple from the first book; their relationship was build on a better foundation, it wasn't just lust, definitely and you could easily see that from their interactions

Cute and sweet

This was a really cute and sweet story about two people who overcome the trauma of their pasts to find happiness with each other. The MMC in this story was very different than the other ones - much more of a cinnamon roll and he waited a long time for his girl to be ready. Not a huge plot past the relationship development, but definitely enough to keep my interest. Really looking forward to the next one!

This is the 2nd book in the Nola Rebels MC series and follows Jett & Summer. Jett is the treasurer in the MC and Summer is Cash’s wife’s Deanna best friend.
Jett & Summer both have some troubled past and Jett is so patient with Summer and does everything to help her through her demons. He is such a tough guy and so overprotective of her but at the same time he is so sweet and gentle with her. Their chemistry together is amazing, I adore this couple.
Of course all the side characters are so much fun to read and I can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Wow… Jett and Summer’s story is one emotional roller coaster. They are both two broken people with messed up pasts and demons that still haunt them. But they’re also two pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly together. Jett couldn’t have been more perfect for Summer. He was strong and patient with her, giving her what she needed. She had all the walls with barb wire built up around herself and was so afraid to let anyone in, but slowly she broke through the walls and it was so good to see. She became so much stronger and more confident, and it was all due to Jett. And the spice in this book! Damn. I thought the grape scene was hot, but holy hell!! What comes after with these two is freaking explosive! That scene on the his bike! These two are off the charts hot.
This book was fantastic, the action is a little slow but then BAM everything hits at once! I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen, but at the same time I was dreading it too because I didn’t want to end this book.
I loved Manny and Priest and am kinda wondering if maybe something might be happening there! One of my favorite moments that had me laughing was the scene in the car with Jett, Hawk, Jas and Tag! The tension in that car was so thick. Jas is one tough chic and I love her sass, she’s not going to make it easy on Hawk and I’m so excited for their book next. He really messed up and from his way of thinking in the little teaser at the end, he’s got a rude awakening in store for him.
But how about that little bomb that Razor dropped at the end!!! I’m anxious, and nervous to see what plays out with that. And I’m looking forward to learning more about Rock too! This series is so addictive and I can’t wait for more!

This really walked a fine line between three and four stars, so I'm going to round up to four.
Jett follows the budding romance between Jett and Summer. Both of our MC's experienced sexual abuse as children. Jett was incredibly understanding and patient with Summer when she had any reservations because he truly understood what she had been through.
This had a lot of potential, but I didn't feel connected with the story or the characters. Occasionally, the dialogue was written a bit strangely. This resulted in me being pulled out of the story and hyper focusing on the way it was written rather than what was being said.
I think this was a fun, fast paced read with plenty of spice. If you enjoy MC romances, then definitely check this one out!

The NOLA Rebels are back and this story is for Summer and Jett. Summer is Deanna’s best friend and was around for her as she and Cash fell in love.
Summer and Jett have a history meeting a couple of years earlier while she was in Bracken Ridge and Jett visited, he wanted her then. The distance and the fact that Summer has clearly been damaged and Jett has his own troubled past keeps them apart.
Summer has up and moved to New Orleans to finish her nursing degree and under Hitch’s request, the NOLA rebels are asked to watch over Summer. Jett wants that role but he has no idea how to make Summer his.
With them already having a past it was easy to jump straight into them trying to figure out how to make a relationship work.
Of course, there is the threat from the Devil’s and they make sure to be trouble for the Rebels.
I think, for me, I enjoyed Jett and Summer’s story more than Cash and Deanna's and I think the reason was simply Jett. He might be a biker but he’s one of the sweeter ones and the way he is with Summer is truly sweet. Summer says he’s a cinnamon roll from way back and she’s not wrong.
Looking forward to Hawk and Jas coming next because I think that one is going to have some fireworks.

Celebrating Cash and Deanna’s wedding, Summer is letting her hair down and maybe a little too much but it might be a good thing because she’s able to let her walls down a little and dancing with Jett she finally asks why he hasn’t made his move.
Jett is surprised by Summer’s question thinking she didn’t want that from him, it never mattered to him, Summer would always be his. His to watch over, his to protect and his to keep the other brothers away from. But now he knows that Summer is willing to see where things go, he’s all in.
‘Summer is mine. She was mine the first time I saw her, and I’ve been obsessing about her ever since. It’s been a long time coming, and I can’t fuck this up. Not now.’
Summer’s childhood left her a little broken if it wasn’t for Hitch and Kirsty then she and Gunner could have lived very different lives. With Jett, she feels things she didn’t know she was capable of. He wakes up a part of her she thought was broken.
Summer makes Jett feel alive and for the first time in a long time, it’s more than the club and his brothers that mean something to him. For Summer he is willing to give her everything if he can call her his. Although she was raised in the MC, Summer struggles with the role women play within the club, and letting Jett lay a claim to her and her to become property isn’t something she’s sure she can do.
‘Then I realize, I smell like him. As if realizing at the same time, a grin spreads across his face. When he smiles, the whole world lights up. He should do it more. He frowns a lot. But like this, like this he could do anything.’
Jett wants Summer and wants everyone to know it, being a part of the club she should understand, but finding common ground doesn’t always come easy.
The Devil’s causing trouble will only bring them closer but the Devil’s could cost Jett someone else he loves.

I’m not a huge fan of motorcycle romance. It’s not my thing, but if a story is good, it’s good regardless of the premise. And this one had some of my favorite tropes - in particular the MMC pining for the fmc. A “bad dude” turning to mush over his obsession - but not in a stalkery way.
This book is a standalone second book of a series. There were lots of characters named early on in the book, and I gather most from a previous series. But I don’t care about them and their relationships - though I’m sure people who did read the first series would want an update on the couples.
The story opens with a wedding. Jett has been pining for Summer from afar. And she kinda likes him too. Honestly - it was too sweet how they came together. He’s a lot sweeter than I would have expected in a motorcycle club. So I didn’t get the darkness I thought I’d get with a MC romance. But it was intriguing to have a cinnamon roll bad dude biker who’s not a teddy bear type. The care he demonstrated for summer was just…..awwww
But the “ol lady” and “sweet butts” and “claiming” made me feel icky. Maybe proving I’m not really suited to MC romance because of the intrinsic misogyny.
I can’t say I’m a convert to MC books, but this one was a quick read, low angst and not as dark as expected.

I am absolutely in love with this new to me author and this crazy, mc series of hers. I came to this series for the age gap romance that started the series off, but I stuck around because all these brooding bikers have grown on me and I want to know all their stories. As well as how they manage to get their girl.
Jett definitely did not disappoint. In fact, the scorching romance in this book was some of the best I have read. Ever. And with everything both of these characters have been through in the past, it was all done so beautifully and perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better written romance.
Jett was a fabulous read and I couldn’t get enough of his over protective ways. I love that we got hints of what’s to come in this amazing series. Some doors may have closed, but a few more just flew wide open. It’s nail biting goodness!! 5 Stars.

I was so excited for Summer and Jett’s story. I was immediately pulled in from the first page. They had been dancing around how they felt about one another for so long. Summer thinks she’s broken from everything that happened to her when she was younger. She’s a bit closed off when it comes to Jett, yet feels safe with him. Jett would do absolutely anything for Summer and he’s so understanding and patient. They really open up to one another and realize they have more in common then they thought, and maybe they should give this a real try. As always with the MC trouble comes, and it was intense. I really loved how the friendships grew more in this book too, Mackenzy knows how to pull at all your heart strings, when it comes to this club family. Excited for Hawk and Jas next!

Jett & Summer have lived their fair share of trauma, both survivors. Summer grew up in an MC in Bracken Ridge but moved to New Orleans for school and a new start. Jett is the treasurer of the Rebels MC. When they met two year ago they started a friendship and feelings developed but distance got in the way. Now that summer is in his town and his MC he’s not going to let anything get in his way this time.
Loved Jett, he’s soo not brikerish (IYKYK). I kind of wish he was a little more “bikerish” but i love him all the same.
Summer is a great FMC, strong and independent.

Jett and Summer were teased expertly and beautifully in book 1. But I think the teasing failed the execution. While I didn’t hate the book, I didn’t love it like I did book 1.
Summer and Jett both have hard pasts. I knew their story wouldn’t be easy. But as I reader I didn’t need to be reminded of their hard pasts repeatedly. I wanted them as a couple more present in the book, because what we got was beautiful, but it left me a little high and dry. I wanted to see Jett wooing Summer more. I wanted to see a first date. It left me wanting more that we as readers didn’t get. Their was a lot of outside conflicts, which is par for the course with MC romances, but it took away from their relationship
But this was still an enjoyable read and I for sure thought it would be my favorite. But unfortunately it wasn’t. I do think these two were trauma bonded, so it’ll be interesting to see how they play out in the rest of the series

Their progressive chemistry throughout the story…how it starts with their friendship and later grows into a relationship was so well and beautifully written it had me stealing a glance to read a few pages even as i was working…

Jett is a sneaky cinnamon roll. Tough MC on the outside while giving heart throbbing romance behind closed doors. Summer is a strong willed woman just waiting for fall for the perfect man. Together their love story is not short on the romance or the spice. Watching them grow and overcome their traumas together was exactly what I needed in book two of the NOLA Rebels series. Cannot wait for book three!

I’ve been waiting for Jett and Summer’s book for a long time. I knew these two would be worth the wait.
Jett and Summer met two years ago when he came to the Bracken Ridge MC to help with security. He fell for her at first sight and she was just as smitten. But distance kept them apart. He was in New Orleans with the NOLA Rebels MC.
When she decided to come to New Orleans for nursing school she also had Jett on her mind. They finally start talking and Jett was patient with her. He let her be in control because he could sense something dark had happened to her.
These two shared a horrible childhood and both experienced abuse a child should never have to experience. They trust each other with their truths and Jett tells her he has a brother. Just not that he has an identical twin brother.
I loved how much of a cinnamon roll Jett was for Summer. He was sweet but possessive of her. He wanted to claim her but she had grown up in the MC life and knew what that meant. She was hesitant but in the end Jett won her over.
There is mentions of child abuse but it’s not in great detail. There are some violent moments but it’s not over done.
We get snippets of the next book couple Jas and Hawk. He messed up big time and Jas is having none of him. He thinks he can break her down so it should be an interesting and fiery read.

Jett & Summer’s story is packed with passion, heat, and emotional growth, but there are a few bumps along the way.
Jett and Summer make for an intense couple. Both come with their baggage—Jett, with his dark past and protective tendencies, and Summer, a girl with walls built so high, you wonder if anyone could ever get through them. But with time, Jett shows that he’s the kind of man who knows exactly how to handle Summer’s complexity, offering her the stability and care she needs. Their relationship definitely isn’t easy, but the chemistry between them? Off the charts. I’m talking explosive.
What really stood out to me was how their bond evolves from friendship to something deeper. It’s slow and steady, and at times, I wished the pacing picked up a bit more. The first half felt a little sluggish, with the action and tension only really picking up toward the end. Still, when things do hit, they hit hard.
Jett is, without a doubt, a swoon-worthy hero—gritty but sweet, protective but gentle. The scenes with him, especially his relationship with Summer, were sweet enough to make me smile, even when the overall plot felt a little predictable. I also really liked Summer’s character growth throughout the book. She’s tough but vulnerable, and it’s beautiful to watch her open up to Jett.
As for the spice? Let’s just say it’s hot. The tension between these two is palpable, and when it finally boils over, it’s definitely worth the wait. The chemistry is electric, with one particular scene that had me fanning myself.
I have to say, though, the story wasn’t without its flaws. Some of the secondary plot points—like the conflict with the Devil’s MC—felt a bit rushed or underdeveloped. While the main focus is on Jett and Summer, I found myself wanting a bit more detail in the other areas of the story.
Overall, it’s a solid read with a lot of heart and heat. Jett is the standout character here, and if you’re a fan of slow-burn, protective alpha heroes with a side of steamy romance, this book will definitely hit the spot. That said, I’m hoping the next installment gives us a bit more excitement and tension from the start. If you’re into MC romance with a touch of sweetness, you’ll probably enjoy this one.

This is book 2 in the NOLA Rebels Series (New Orleans).
Who doesn't love a good MC book. This came at a great time as I haven't read one for a while.
It was perfect, had all the action, drama, revenge, rivalry, found family, damaged main characters, emotions, growth, suspense, hilarious banter, love and spice that leaves you feeling hot hot hot.
Also please read trigger warnings as their is sensitive subjects discussed from their childhood.
I liked how I instantly felt like I was part of the family,like I knew them all for years.
Jett and Summer met 2 years ago at another MC's wedding. They had instant attraction then. Jett never forgot her and now she has moved to New Orleans and is under Pres' (Cash) protection. So Jett has decided to take it on him to be her protector (Not for his selfish needs 👀 😂).
Summer is exactly like her name, sweet, bright and loving. Both have very damaged childhood and are ashamed that if the other finds out will think differently.
What I loved the most was how blooming AMAZING Jett was. Despite being this grumpy ruthless MC, he was so soft, gentle, caring and loving he was around Summer. He sensed her discomfort and set everything at her pace and her permission. It was perfect, no wonder the ever reflectant Summer melted like putty.
I did love how they were together, with all the witty banter and sparkling chemistry. There was times I just wanted to shake Summer, as she kept pushing away, then moving forward then back again like a yoyo. But it's very hard to resist these MC's charms and their bulky muscles.
The hilarious banter amongst the other characters was just what was needed and made the story even better.
I can't wait to read Hawk's story next. I have a feeling that one will be good.
If MC, Close Proximity, Opposite Attracts, broody men found family and lots of spice is your thing then give this a read.

Damn it Jett may have stole my heart from Cash, the way he has so much patience with Summer had me melting because even she knows men usually don’t wait. This is the second book is the NOLA Rebels MC Series & if you read the first book Cash, you would know Summer & Jett have had an attraction towards each other but never pursued it. Jett is the treasurer of the club, he owes Cash his life after he basically saved him from the streets & taught him everything he knows. He does have an identical twin named Rock, but they haven’t been close since he got out of prison. Now Summer is the best friend of Deanna who is Cash’s ol’lady, when she moved here for her schooling to be a nurse. She has always felt a connection between her & Jett ever since they first met years ago, but due to her traumatic childhood she always believed she was broken because it seemed men never wanted to be patient with her when it came to pleasing her. What she doesn’t expect is the man that she is falling for to have also suffered a similar childhood, they share the same hurt & it connects them even deeper. The way Jett asks her permission before taking the next step or the way he guides her because he knows she is nervous is probably the hottest part. He not only devours her over & over, but he also worships her body & makes her see that being together is the most beautiful thing. The way she exploded on back of his bike or the fact that he was her first oral, it had Jett want her even more. Jett has the need to claim her within the club, but Summer has been raised in a MC & she hates being known as “property”, but with Jett’s jealousy & possessiveness she knows he needs this & she will do anything for this man because he has already given her so much. Let’s be honest these two go at it like bunny rabbits, Jett is constantly hard when it comes to his Tink & her having the title of his ol’lady makes him want her even more. Now I will say I was laughing so hard when Jas & Hawk start bickering to each other & I can’t wait to read their book because just getting a glimpse into their characters from this book & the first one tells me it’s going to be so damn good!

this story is dual POV between jett & summer, both of which are who either in or very familiar with the MC world. i’m not a huge fan of mafia stories, and i’ve never read a MC story, so i wasn’t sure how i would feel about it. turns out i don’t think MC stories are for me either. the FMC got on my nerves a lot, and did not act like a character who was supposed to be 27.

I honestly loved this one so much! Jett and Summer are both broken people due to trauma they endured as children. They are a lot more similar than they think, putting up walls and never letting people get too close/ in their business. Summer and Jett met each other two years prior and they both felt a spark in their budding “friendship”. However, living miles apart hindered anything from developing. Two years later Summer and her best friend Deanna move to NOLA and Jett is right there to cater to her every need. They are both scared and hesitant to move their relationship further because they feel like the other isn’t interested. It’s honestly a couple months of will they won’t they lol. Finally, it’s her best friend Deanna’s wedding to NOLA Rebels club president Cash and Summer lets loose causing her to down multiple drinks that leave her a little more than tipsy. Deanna assist Jett in taking her up to his room to sleep it off and oh what a great idea that is because they finally overcome that hurdle and open up to each other about how they feel. Progressing in this relationship is slow due to Summer’s reluctance on being “claimed as club property” (being Jett’s ol’lady), her independent nature, and her struggles with being intimate. But Jett is right there not giving up on them and going as slow as she needs with also being making it know that she is his woman and nobody can touch her. He honestly was the sweetest, most swoon worthy “un-biker” (what Summer likes to call him) of the whole MC group. They both grew as individuals and were able to be more comfortable in each other’s company. Their love was so good to see as in flourished as well as their most steamiest times being brought by one another like they’ve never had before. Had a good combination of action, sweetness, steaminess, and down right swoon worthy moments! Can’t wait to see what happens next with Hawk & Jas, I just know this is gonna be such a good enemies to lovers story and I’m counting down the days 🤭

This is book 2 in the NOLA Rebels MC Series. Each story is a standalone and follows a different couple. I still recommend reading in order as you will see snips and pieces of the previous couples. If you want to really get the full experience, I recommend starting with the Bracken Ridge MC series. These stories follow the club members in Arizona and have interconnecting references to this series.
Oh Mackenzy......you bring us another winner with Jett and Summer. You meet them in Gears Book (the previous series that i mentioned above). They both have very dark pasts and sometimes have trouble with relationships because of the trauma they both endured. Both Jett and Summer find their relationship in friendship first that grows over a 2 year period. When Summer decides to move to Louisiana, Jett has his sites set on her and decides that she will be his. Can they get over their past in order to have a future or will their previous experiences ruin all that they could have?
I loved Summer and her tough attitude. She has a terrible past but she doesn't let that stop her from achieving what she wants. Is she scared...Hell ya but she is strong and I love how Mackenzy wrote her character. Then we have Jett...The tough biker whose exterior is so rough ....except around summer. He shows true patience and love for this woman. He is so enamored with her that he waits..... and waits...... until the time is right and he can claim her. Their past was hard to read but Mackenzy can show how trauma and horrible experiences can be overcome with the right partner. I love this series and it will continue to be a top contender for this trope. I give this one 5 stars.

If you read the first book Cash in the NOLA Rebels MC series, then you have already met Jett and Summer. And clearly have felt their connection that they both had towards each other. Jett is the treasurer in the MC where Cash is the President and Summer is Cash’s wife’s best friend. So both Summer and Jett’s lives are intertwined with each other through Cash and Deanna. After reading Cash I was literally dying to read Jett and Summer’s story. I literally ate in up so fast because I had been so excited to read bout their story. Summer comes from a very tragic background and feels broken and lost because of it and Jett wants to be the one to help her because he had dealt with something similar.
The love story was quite emotional but so beautiful and I feel so whole after reading about these two, they finally found happiness and that happiness was together. I loved how Jett had been completely taken by Summer for the very beginning and he would literally move the ends of the world for her. He’s definitely one of the most incredible MMCs I have read about in a long time. And Summer was just so honest and good. She’s the kind of person that you would pray to have in your life as your friend.
Summer and Jett has been friends for some time and there’s always been this unspoken chemistry and angst between them. Their lives has always been intertwined with each other in one way or another, so when they find out they share similar backgrounds this bond grows stronger and turns into something special that they both have been secretly pinning for.
If you love a friends to lovers and MC romance with the one bed trope and a damaged hero and heroine then Jett is just the book for you. It’s soooooo good.

I loved how Jett had been completely taken by Summer for the very beginning and he would literally move the ends of the world for her. He’s definitely one of the most incredible MMCs I have read about in a long time. And Summer was just so honest and good. She’s the kind of person that you would pray to have in your life as your friend.
Summer and Jett has been friends for some time and there’s always been this unspoken chemistry and angst between them. Their lives has always been intertwined with each other in one way or another, so when they find out they share similar backgrounds this bond grows stronger and turns into something special that they both have been secretly pinning for.
If you love a friends to lovers and MC romance with the one bed trope and a damaged hero and heroine then Jett is just the book for you. It’s soooooo good.

Honestly, Jett could not be more of a perfect man for Summer. He was supportive, fiercely protective, understanding and left no room for doubt about his feelings for Summer.
Summer is sweet, shy and a little scared when it comes to building a relationship with Jett.
But Jett not only manages to bring down her walls he is also gives her the perfect amount of support needed for her to build her confidence and become stronger.
These two may have started as a slow burn but once they gave in... Holy Freakin Spice!I mean....

The grape scene.... I will never eat a grape without thinking of these two again.
In the beginning the MC action took a slight back seat to their building relationship but then.. BAM!!

Having witnessed the development of Summer and Jett's attraction in Cash, I was so pleased to see them get their own book and the way the author created their story didn't disappoint.
Both Jett and Summer have dark pasts having gone through similar traumas as children, however, neither of them knows about the other's history they just recognise that they are different from other people. Whilst Jett is a biker through and through and has an ultra possessive, jealous and protective streak, when it comes to Summer he is sweet and cinnamon roll goodness. He's patient and kind, taking his time, which does mean there is some miscommunication between them at first as neither of them acts, but when they do and both admit their feelings they fall fast and hard - a bit like their spicy times.
It's a low angst story with lots of character development between the two as their relationship develops so do they I really enjoyed seeing them open up to each other and the lack of drama between them was refreshing. They are a perfect match and I think the author did a brilliant job with them.
Alongside the development of the relationship between Jett and Summer, we also get the introduction of some new characters such as Rock and the story about the trouble with the Devils continues adding just a little danger to the story. I can't wait to see what happens next in the world of the NOLA Rebels.

This is book 2 in the NOLA Rebels MC series. Interconnected series and should be read in order.
Summer really blossoms in this book. She finally opens up and you see her true self coming to light. Her feeling for Jett are undeniable. With her troubled childhood she doesn’t believe she can have a normal relationship with a man. Especially someone like Jett.
“There’s a dark hole inside me, one that may not ever be repaired. One that I don’t let anyone get near. “
Jett! For being a biker who can be tough and possessive, really shows his un-bikerish side. He is a sweet softie for Summer. How he gentle with her when she needs it.
“Though she’s a grown woman, she has this innocence about her that I want to wrap around myself and bathe in.”
Jett and Summer are a perfect pair of tough and sweet. Jett was able to open Summer up and show her she isn’t broken. Once they realize they share similar traumas, their relationship develops quickly and is beautiful.
“For the first time in my life, I give in to it. I enjoy it. I let his beautiful, sexy mouth take over, and I don’t resist. I can’t. He’s my weakness.”
