Transferred Descent

by Ess McKinney

The Haze infects your mind, wandering into the deepest and darkest crevices of your subconscious. Its one goal is chaos, and with the neglect of the Guardians, that seems all too easy for it to achieve. But when the Tower falls and the city descends into chaos, the least likely of teams will form to stop it...

Death and the Devil's prodigies, the partnered assassins who attacked the Tower, and a ghost of a girl who stalks the city are all tasked with ensuring the future of their city and their world.

I was given an ARC of this book, my review is honest and voluntary.
Transferred Descent is sort of an enemies to heros LGBT-filled story, filled with twists and turns. I was hooked from the beginning, needing to know what happens next. This is not a 'Happily Ever After' story, there is death, drugging, and violence so check the Trigger Warnings! However, if you are looking for something Queer, heartbreaking, and thought-provoking this is the story to read.
The story switches POV each chapters, between the Main characters - Moral, Jask, Ren, Sol, and Juid.
The world-building happens as needed in the story, and this is more action-heavy compared to some books.
