Author Central: Free Marketing for Writers: Publicizing your Book in the Amazon System

Amazon can be very confusing at times. There’s the massively large Amazon storefront system, which lists books from a wide variety of publishers, large and small. Then there’s the Kindle Desktop Publishing (KDP) system, run by Amazon. Confusingly, the KDP system lets you publish not only Kindle ebooks, but also paperback books and hardcover books on a print-on-demand system.
Then there’s a third book-related area on Amazon. This is Amazon’s Author Central area.
Author Central is a homepage for all authors who have books listed on Amazon. These books do NOT NEED TO BE PUBLISHED by Amazon. You can publish your books through Lulu, Barnes & Noble, Ingram Spark, or any other publishing house. The Amazon Author Central area lets you organize your books all in one place. It lets you create a biography, mention upcoming projects, and most importantly, gather up followers.
Amazon will then MARKET your new books directly to those followers, so they get email messages when your new books release.
This is a huge, free, wide-reaching opportunity that all authors should take advantage of.

This book is full of information that authors will benefit from knowing. It’s definitely a learning tool for a first-time author, and includes insights into how to make the most out of your writing experience. I’m glad this book was suggested for me to read, as it was very helpful.
