A creative soul, mother of three, wifey, and professional daydreamer, Deja was born and raised in a land of pristine beaches and palm trees called Miami. Her love for all things books started early. At eight, she wrote her first short story on a typewriter her mother gifted her so she’d stop writing on the walls.

Being able to share her stories has always been a dream and today, she writes steamy stories featuring queer and bi-curious women of color in various stages of love and relationships.

She writes strong characters who are unapologetically black, openly discusses trauma and HEAs are not guaranteed.

When she’s not dreaming up alternate universes, she’s hanging out with her little tribe, watching something where the world ends or restaurant hopping.

Deja Elise
At the Deep End: Down Deep : Book 4 of 4 (First Time Lesbian)

Favorite quote in the book Marriage, if anything, was the constant tending of feelings, actions ,and intentions. Like a garden, you had to plant, seed, and uproot the weeds in order for it to thrive. Let anything go too long and soon you’d be overrun by more problems than you can handle on your own.

Bri is doing everything in her power to maintain a positive outlook, even though she can't help but feel disappointed by the unsuccessful outcome of their latest IVF attempt. She's hopeful that the next attempt will be the one that brings them success, so she creates her own manifestation board and prays for their dreams to come true.

What I really appreciated about the author's writing is how they connected this storyline with characters from their previous books. It added a sense of continuity and made the whole narrative feel more cohesive.

As someone who can relate to the struggles of wanting another child, I highly recommend this book. It accurately depicts how the desire for a baby can consume your entire life until the moment you finally hold them in your arms.

Out of all the characters, Bri was my favorite. I empathized with her throughout her journey, as it's easy to say you love someone but being in a marriage can be challenging. It requires compromise and consideration for the other person's feelings. I loved that the author emphasized the importance of making the right choices when it came to childbirth, whether it was through a c-section or a natural water birth. Bri stood her ground and did what was best for her and her babies.

The theme of fertility issues is something that resonates with many people, and my heart went out to Bri, especially when she felt alone due to DeeDee's frequent work travels. It was heartwarming to see Bri and DeeDee finally receive the blessing they had been praying for, creating the family they both desired. The story delves into life's ups and downs and emphasizes the need for communication and positivity, even in uncertain situations. I was so happy to witness Bri and DeeDee find love and build their family together.

I cannot express how much I enjoyed this beautiful story. I highly recommend this book, which is now available on Amazon KU!

a perfect ending

Not gonna lie, this has to be one of the best series I’ve ever read. I think my favorite part was the constant communication and trying to understand each other that Bri and DeeDee did. It was so easy to become invested in their relationship and root for them. I’m so happy for them and how things turned out. They will go down in history as one of my all time favorite couples. 🩷
