Shorter version of all the gospel! Great recap and highlights women in this book. Wouldn’t suggest it to be the first one if you haven’t read Matthew or John beforehand.

This lazy old sinner is finally studying God's Word. I wanted to start with the New Testament because I felt a great need to hear Jesus's own words thru the gospels as presented by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This completes the gospel of Mark. I will admit I preferred the gospel of Matthew more. Mark is more spare of words - the Hemingway of the Bible perhaps?? I am really excited to read Luke now - visions of Linus reading Luke's account of Christ's birth in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" dancing in my head 💕
The Gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, and the most rapid. So much action and information, giving an insight into the daily and filled activities of Jesus. I’d not studied this Gospel before, but it is very deep and makes you view Jesus and your relationship with Him more carefully.
I think outside the theology, I find that Mark (the author) may have known Peter and written down events before any other gospel writer as just incredible. Both from a historical and theological perspective. I love this Gospel. Very helpful in all times, and especially if one has any crises of faith.
