Top Takeaways

I was looking for tactics to implement more than stories and principles. But the stories and principles were great.

Read this in one day.

Top Takeaways:

1. Positive thinking is misunderstood. We can't grow beyond our self-image. Work on self-image and then watch things change.

2. Focus more on your customer than on the competition. Serve them well and you'll be rewarded.

3. Resourcefulness is far greater than having resources. Many self-made millionaires started in their mom's basement, car, or garage. They learned to be resourceful and reaped the benefits.

4. You can be loyal to a fault with methods. Learn to TEST ideas, strategies, ads, etc before committing to them.

5. It's ok to borrow ideas from others, tweak it and make it your own. You don't need to lock yourself up in a room for the next greatest invention ever.

If you read business books before, you'll hear a lot of the same principles. It can help to hear things from a different point of view.

If you're looking for a quick read on principles to embrace and practice in your business, you just might enjoy this book.

It was a nice read.. but not as ground breaking as other stuff

I’ve read so many books from Dan, watched a ton of videos, and I do consider myself very “well read” with his material. This latest book is ok, it’s good, it’s serviceable, but many of his other books are off the charts. I usually equate a book’s greatness to how many “highlights” and pages I mark up and this one wasn’t outstanding. Should you read it? Yes, but his other stuff is better.

This is a critically good book for the scrappy small entrepreneurial minded person wondering what it REALLY takes to succeed in business. Part pep talk, part how to , all golden counterintuitive insights.
