Not a bad book, with an interesting perspective on Woody's career up until 1980. There are some great photos in here. The one drawback is that the author goes on and on with summaries (and his own opinions) of each movie, which gets long and is unnecessary for anyone who is already familiar with them.

A short, illustrated volume that probably doesn’t have much value now, but seems to have its head on its shoulders. It’s quite decent actually, and indeed notes when some gags in the 1960s material had dated, etc, even by time of publication in 1980. Conscious of Allen’s role, his context, etc.
