“We should f*ck.” Well, alrighty then. Listen, young Carrie was bold and had absolutely zero filter. To say she was sexually liberated is an understatement. Sis was not afraid of letting Omar know what she wanted, where she wanted it, how she wanted it, or when she wanted it. We stan a confident black female on this side of Goodreads. But, what you need to know about Carrie is, she’s here for a good time not a long time. You see, girlfriend has a deep aversion to love and relationships so your best bet is to keep your feelings to yourself. Omar is a widower of five years and he’s still grieving the sudden death of his wife. He needs a break from his very busy life so, Omar decides to take some me time at his home in Paradise Bay. The only problem with this last minute plan is, Carrie has already booked his house on Airbnb for the same week. When she finds out the homeowner is a former client who she’s been lusting after for quite some time, sis puts in that work to get what she wants. And, what Carrie’s kitty wants, Carrie’s kitty gets. Like Rashawnda said, City Girls are definitely up in this series. I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice surprise revisiting with the Winter Crest crew. Considering how this book ended, I need the author to give us an update on these couples. I wouldn’t be opposed to a wedding special. I’m just sayin’.
Carrie was brave and bold and knew exactly what she wanted from the time she entered her vacation rental. Omar just needed a little time away from his reality…But, when these two run into one another again….it’s like lightning.
I loved Carries bold attitude. “Let’s fck”. Carrie knew she wanted Omar and let him know. Carrie and Omar was a freaky fwb; that club scene 😏. This was a cute steamy short story
Clearly the theme is “Bring a nigga to his knees” all summer 23’ because the girls ain’t playinggggg!!!!!
Carrie was talking that big girl talk all 100+ pages of this read! I mean straight out the airport on some straight heaux sh*t and I was alllllll the way here for it!! City Girls are up 8,000 points after this spicy read!
Carrie rented out the flyest home on Paradise Island and was ready for all the bald head heaux activities however when she showed up to her lavish Airbnb, the owner forgot the home was rented when he decided on a last minute getaway! Carrie was hot in the aśs and Omar was contemplating getting his “feet wet” again after the loss of his wife!!
These folks forever be hollering 🗣️no strings attached meanwhile they’re a whole puppet in these streets with the song and dance to match! It was cute that Carrie and Omar thought their lil fling would end after one week! They put up a good fight but as we know l, love will always get the ultimate K.O.!
Alright now Carrie! This woman was bold, and outright forward with her ish! Closed mouths don't get fed right? From the moment she was on her way to Paradise Bay, she was planning on getting all the D she could handle! After getting to her rented house for the week, she discovers a hiccup, as someone is in HER house! 😂
Omar, wonders who is trying to get into his house while he is trying to get a nap. Well, well, well! Upon opening the door, he immediately knows who she is but can't remember her name. After a bit of back and forth, they decide to share the house for the week. So, the fun begins. Carrie is on a mission to get Omar into her bed. This woman is ruthless in her pursuit to wear him down! But don't get too close or build an attachment, cause she ain't got time for that! Just give up the D early and often, and she is goodt! 😂
Omar, obviously attracted to Carrie, but is feeling tremendous guilt, as he is still mourning his wife. He holds on as long as he can, until the temptation wins. Once he gets a taste, he is hooked. He wonders, how am I going to keep things casual with this woman, when she is everything, I need?
As the week goes on, Carrie begins to feel things she hasn't felt for another and doesn't like it one bit! However, she goes with the flow, because being with Omar feels so good. Both Omar and Carrie got more than they expected on this trip. Dive into this ya'll, its a whole vibe! 👍👍👍
I loved this book!! Shay Davis you never disappoint!! I am hoping to see more of these two in the future. Carrie convinced herself that she didn't need love and no man was capable of loving her. She was fine with the hit it and quit it, no strings attached kind of relationships that didn't leave her connected or tied to anyone. She was ready to have a great time and lots of sex on her week of vacation. What she wasn't expecting was to have a houseguest at her arrival.
Omar owned the property that Carrie rented for the week. He was looking for a week to relax and refresh. Being and single father and provider for his children he just needed some time away. He didn't think to check in with property manager to make sure the space wasn't occupied. What a surprise he was in for when he came face to face with the beautiful woman.
Carrie was determined to have Omar but he was guarded and wouldn't let her in. It had been 5 years since he lost his wife in a tragic accident. He had not let her go or been with another woman since. Hearing his wife's voice she tells him it's time to let go. After feeling more free things are hot and heavy between Omar and Carrie for the remainder of their time together. Carrie thinking she would never fall in love develops feelings for him she doesn't even understand herself but still tries to run from them. Omar also fell in love in that short period of time but knowing her rules he's afraid to share his feelings in fear of ruining the moment.
So glad they lived in the same town and broke down and confessed their feelings and let love win!!
Carrie is an entire vibe, this chic is goals and ooze sex appeal sashaying to the beat of her own drum line and I love her unapologetic confidence to go after what she wants personally and professionally with no regrets or a bit of shame to any part of her game and she’s got game…lots of it.
Omar is book Bae baby. He’s fine AF and his sexy just drips everywhere he walks. I love how he exercises control until temptation wins and he allows himself to feel something other than the weight of guilt and responsibility.
Carrie and Omar were hilarious, the comedy alone is exemplary. It was funny until funny wasn’t funny and undeniable feelings came riding in like a surfer on a big wave. They wanted to vacate their respective lives, maybe rest and reflect before things got crazy, but baby neither got what they came for. The chemistry and heat between them from hello was undeniable and the way the eff’s went down in this book for 7 whole days was sinfully delicious.
Shay Davis is an author that gives you the appetizer, the meal and dessert in her stories leaving you full and wanting more. I did not want this story to end. It was light, funny, romantic, erotic, very unsuspecting and a fun read that I’ll read again and again so let me get a first class ticket to Paradise Bay neooow!
Carrie is a sexual woman and she sets her sights on Omar. You could just read the sexual tension. Omar was giving B.D.E and a widow and responsibilities. Omar reminds me of a dom. Carrie wasn't trying to get her feelings involved. She's type to get hers and and that's it. Omar is different and once he had sexual connection that was it. Omar took Carrie on a real date. Jazzlyn is wise beyond her years. She told her daddy to go to get his girlfriend. He's trying to tell her that's his friend, but she knew the truth.. Ms. Ruby had some words for Omar. He was missing her and she was missing him.
Honey chile, you are in my top five favorite authors! I love that you kept the same characters from Winter Crest, that was dope to me and you even kept their same behavior and temperament. I truly enjoyed this ride with these characters. I’m hoping to see more of them. Even Jazzlyn grown behind🫣😁….without saying too much Omar loved Carrie enough for her to trust him to lead and Carrie was patient and honest enough for Omar to finally receive the closure that he so desperately needed. Great job 👏!
One thing I love about Shay Davis is the fact that sis gonna finish a story and I loved every moment about it. Omar finally gave in to Carrie and Carrie finally know what it’s like to be loved and adored by a man. Jazz was everything cause Omar and Carrie was gonna sit around and be miserable until he got that push. I think she would be great as a mom but she’s scared to try and think she’s too young. Enjoyed this story and how the wife was letting him and the daughter know that it was time and not to miss his opportunity.
I really enjoyed this story. This author hasn’t let me down yet and I hope she provides us with an update on Carrie and Omar. These two were so funny together with their banter and fighting to dominance. Omar was definitely BDE and wasn’t about to let Carrie run things and Carrie couldn’t help but submit to him. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a cute and sweet summer love story.
This standalone is lit. Carrie hoe card got put to rest with my new baby Omar. I don't know if I read ur winter crest book but I gotta see to refreshing my brain. But I would love to have an update on my babies and their new bundle of joy with the bigger kids. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
Okay so in my opinion this had the potential to be a really great story but I’m just not that in to dominate women like that. I mean, freaky yes, but it just didn’t hit for me. But she was a strong woman and I did appreciate that. I gave it 3 stars someone else might give 4 or 5. It was a good story. It’s just so far, book 8 out of 29, it’s my least favorite.
I need more of Carrie and Omar!! I love them! I always enjoy how well Shay give you incredibly funny and very sexy couples! Carrie and Omar definitely gave summertime lovers vibes but it quickly transformed into something so much more. I am fully invested in their relationship and I need more!!
Carrie wasn't looking for relationship she was looking for sexual relations But know emotions or love involved... Omar seems like he been through a lot raising his kids single parent But looks like vacation is what they both needed now looks like he's about to get baby number 3 and happy after with Carrie
He was still mourning the loss of his wife from 5 years ago and Carrie was living her life on her own terms when she walked into his beach house. He was afraid to let go and Carrie wanted him by any means necessary. He finally decided to let go and live for the here and now. What started out as a week long fun fest turned into more. A great read!
This was a good read. Omar had been stuck in his grief and being super dad. Carrie came in like a tornado and turned his and her world upside down. The saying goes if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. Well his planned worked out how he wanted it to. These two deserved love and be happy
Yass Shay… Yasss!! Winter Crest meets Paradise Bay!!! I was hoping these two would get a book after the last Ruby and Ryan story. Omar’s love for his wife is definitely something you don’t see explored to often in the urban fiction world in this manner. If Winter Crest ever comes back, I hope we get an update on this new family!
I like a story with no strings attached couple fall for each other in a week. Carrie should have known she was a goner when started cooking breakfast every morning. I glad Omar’s deceased wife gave him a sign to let go and embraced a new love interest. Nevertheless, they got out of their own way and embraced the inevitable love on each other.
To say I wasn’t ready would be an understatement. I loved the author allowed the woman to be the aggressor in the story. Carrie played no games with what she wanted while your heart strings was rooting for Omar’s happy ending. Great job can’t wait for book talk with this author!
You know, i love your books so much. They are just the right about of nasty funny and real that we need in this industry. I hoped Carrie would get her own story and fall and love and it was a pleasant surprise that she got it and much more. 💕 I loved this real bad. Thank you. 😁
I understand living your best life but Carrie was really trying to be on her city girl situation. Omar needed that energy that Carrie was bringing cause he stayed broken for to long.
Carrie was ready to have a hot girl summer on her week long vacation in Paradise City. Omar hadn’t been involved with a women emotionally or physically, since the death of his wife five years ago. But when temptation shows up at his door, he is ready to let go and live again.
Great book I loved everything about it. This book was good from the beginning to the end. I was so happy that Omar found Carrie because they were definitely meant to me. Again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a short and sweet story. Carrie just wanted to have fun, while Omar was still feeling guilty over the loss of his wife. Eventually walls were tore down and they were in love. Sweet and short!
I enjoyed the chemistry between these two it was everything. Carrie and Omar was not looking for love but found it with each other. I hope they come back for Christmas with a update.
I loved seeing Carrie and Omar together. I loved this story from start to finish and hope to see more of them in the future. I was not disappointed, it was definitely worth the read.
Carrie and Omar's sex scenes were the bomb. They both helped each other in more ways than one. I am so happy that Omar is no longer grieving his wife, and Carrie finally wants to be in a relationship. Great Read!
Absolutely LOVED IT!!! I wanted Omar and Carrie together in the Winter Crest series. I am so glad their story made it to this one. Great transition and writing!! You did that!!!
