After finding her family’s barn in flames and witnessing her father’s murder, Beth Troyer becomes the killer’s next target. She narrowly escapes death when the murderer turns on her, but now she’s left temporarily blind. She’ll have to rely on former family friend Gideon Bender to keep her safe until her eyesight returns. But with a killer who’ll stop at nothing to find her, staying alive might just be impossible…
Amish Witness to Murder is a really great read. I'm usually not in to Amish books too much, but this one being a suspense kept me reading.
Beth is a witness to her father's murder and the murderer sees her. He tries to kill her but only wounds her. And it leaves her temporarily blind. Enter her neighbor Gideon. With a killer after her, he does everything he can to protect her, all the while trying to help his sheriff friend find the killer.
The ending was surprising to me. I didn't have a clue to who did it and why.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, and this is my honest review.
Who has been waiting for the next Amish County Justice book? This gal, and I’m thrilled! In Amish Witness to Murder, author Dana Lynn gives us the story of Beth Troyer and Gideon Bender. We’ve become quite familiar with the Bender family in previous books. Beth arrives home to bring her father lunch, and instead witnesses his murder. She narrowly escapes death herself, but not without some effects. Temporarily blind and with no other family nearby, she has to turn to Gideon for help. They used to be best friends, but when her sister (and his former fiancé) up and abandoned the Amish life, Gideon abandoned her and her dad’s friendship. The killer is after Beth now, and whether she forgives him or not, Gideon is determined to keep her safe. Can they make their way back to friendship…or even love? With “Gott”, all things are possible! Settle in because you won’t be able to stop once you start reading, plus it has my favorite, an epilogue! I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
In her notes, author Dana R. Lynn reveals that this is the final book about the Bender siblings, and all I can say is Wow! This captivating story kept me fully engaged in Beth Troyer and Gideon Bender's race to escape a killer. I felt Beth's fear and I marveled at her strength and perseverance; I admired Gideon's protective nature, but I wondered how he would ever convince Beth that he no longer had feelings for her sister Miriam. Would their long-time friendship become something more?
Amish Witness to Murder checks off all of the boxes for romantic Christian suspense! Danger, mystery, friendship, and faith make this a story that you don't want to miss, and there's also a reunion with the rest of the Bender family. Grab a copy today!
I received a complimentary copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.
Dana R. Lynn is by far one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors. I especially love her books about the Amish and enjoyed reading each of her books about the Bender siblings. Reading Gideon and Beth's story I fell in love with the characters. The whole book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time wondering what was going to happen next and hoping they would catch the person responsible for what happened to Beth's father and her injuries and the person now trying to kill her. And I loved Gideon's fierce determination to protect her despite her determination to keep him at a distance at first before she finally gave in and let him help her. And despite everything that she went through throughout the book she never lost her faith in God or her determination to survive. For anyone who enjoys Dana's books or the stories about the Bender siblings this book is a must read.
Just finished reading Amish Witness to Murder by Dana R. Lynn Set aside time when you start reading this book because you will not want to put it down. Lots of twists and turns as Beth has witnessed the murder of her Dad. She has been attacked and is blind. Her childhood friend Gideon is offering to help her. But now the killer is coming after her. Her sight has returned. Will Gideon still protect Beth? Can Beth involve Gideon and his family with this danger?
Amish Witness To Murder by Dana R. Lynn. This is another great story and it is Beth Troyer who is in shock to find her families barn is on fire! After she witness's a man who is responsible for this terrible crime can her friend Gideon Bender keep her safe from the bad guys! This was another great suspense story that will keep you reading and turning the pages late at night! I highly recommend this book! I was given a compilatory copy and this is my own honest opinion!
Thank you in advance to the author, Dana R. Lynn, for providing a complimentary review copy. A positive review was not required nor requested, and all words are my own.
I’ve been reading this series going back to May 2022’s Amish Cradle Conspiracy (book #13), and I have the first 12 books on my extensive and out-of-control TBR (which I am TRYING to get under control 🫣🤪🤣).
While this is the 18th book in the Amish Country Justice series, it is the fifth (5th) and final book of the Bender siblings’ story.
The other characters connected to the Bender family were introduced in the following books. Though I don’t know how far back some of the characters go.
📘Amish Country Threats (#10) (introduces Nicole) 📘Amish Christmas Escape (#12) (introduces Jack) 📘Amish Cradle Conspiracy (#13) (introduces Steve; features Nicole & Jack) 📘Her Secret Amish Past (#14) (Joss and Steve; introduces the Bender Family) 📘Crime Scene Witness (#15) (Micah Bender; introduces Lissa) 📘Hidden Amish Target (#16) (Zeke and Molly) 📘Hunted at Christmas (#17) (Isaiah and Addison)
Another draw was that book cover! Book covers can be exciting, they can be dull. Then, there’s the reader’s preference. Some prefer people, some prefer only landscapes, others like the illustrated covers (the ones that, to me, can come off cartoonish).
I rarely get excited about covers. For the most part, I’ve liked some and not liked others. Some do tend to stand out in either good or bad ways. But, this one? As the kids today say, it’s lit 🔥🫣 I mean, it’s LIT! One can almost feel the heat coming off it. So, it draws the reader’s attention to it. Not likely to forget that cover.
As usual, it is the story between the cover that matters the most.
Returning to this story:
The Bender siblings (as featured in the books so far):
✳️ Christina/Joss (born Christina Bender; kidnapped at the age of 2) ✳️ Micah (Deputy U.S Marshal) ✳️ Zeke ✳️ Isaiah (bounty hunter) ✳️ Gideon (Christina/Joss’ twin; still with the Amish order)
Additional returning characters:
🚓 Sgt. Steve Beck (married to Joss) 👒 Edith Bender (mother to Micah, Gideon, Zeke, Joss, and Isaiah) 🪚 Nathan Bender (father to Micah, Gideon, Zeke, Joss, and Isaiah) 👒 Molly (Zeke’s second wife) 👩🏻 Lissa (Micah’s wife) 👧🏻 Shelby (Lissa’s daughter) 👩🏻 Addison Bruce-Johnson-Bender (widow, husband was an officer killed in the line of duty; re-married to Isaiah)
The author introduces:
👒 Beth Troyer 🎨 Francesca Brown (a forensic artist)
Even though books like this are clean – free from questionable language and no spicy intimacy – there are some elements that might be troublesome for certain readers. In this one; there is obviously arson, homicide by a gun, and a strong connection to drug dealing and trafficking.
With that said …
This will, through the course of the book – and, especially near the end – have spoilers about the other siblings and stories. This is why I strongly recommend reading at least the books listed above, paying close attention to books #14-#17 for the Bender siblings. Nicole (from book #10) is mentioned in this book – with a “surprise”.
Knowing this was going to be Gideon’s story, I HAD to read it. There was no “eh, looks like it might be a good one”. It was “I NEED this book!”. After all, Gideon is Christina/Joss’ twin, and his life was impacted by her disappearance. Now it’s his turn for a happily ever after.
Speaking of Gideon’s siblings, I found it quite interesting that his sister married a detective, Micah is a U.S Marshal, and Isaiah is/was a bounty hunter. Then again, Micah and Isaiah’s careers were influenced by what happened to Christina/Joss, which makes sense. It is strange that being her twin, Gideon wasn’t compelled to leave his Amish life behind for revenge or justice.
But, the disappearance of his twin isn’t the only heartbreak Gideon has suffered.
That’s where the author takes the readers – into another one of Gideon’s heartbreaks. It wasn’t Beth who caused his heartbreak – it was her older sister, Miriam.
But, Beth can’t worry about the sister who ran off and joined the Englisch community. Beth is too busy trying to stay alive. In addition to coming home and seeing her family’s barn in flames – which she can’t understand why – she also witnesses someone murder her father and injured in the exchange.
Despite the fact that Gideon basically ghosted his friend Beth after her sister dumped him, he still feels a kinship and friendship towards Beth. Even he knows he was wrong to completely forget about Beth. Despite being a pacifist, he’ll do what he can to protect her. She’s not too sure about accepting it though.
Like her, he misses their friendship, and she knows far more about Miriam’s motives than poor Gideon. But, they also know that now is not the time to revisit the past or try to patch things up, even though they’ve harbored feelings for each other with the other not knowing it.
Almost right from the beginning, the author drops readers into an intense firestorm. Peril awaits both Gideon and Beth at each turn – nowhere is safe, and certainly not their plain community. But … where can they go as the police try to put the pieces together?
Dana R. Lynn has readers on the edge of their seats with this intense and riveting read. It definitely held my attention which each turn of the page. I was immediately drawn right in, and it seemed like the chapters were shorter in this new format. I didn’t want to put this down for any length of time. Sadly, life and illness derailed me a few times. But, when I got back to it – it was just as intense as when I walked away. While it was romantic-suspense, it bordered more on suspense, with the romance being a small portion – less than about 10% of the book. Which, I didn’t mind at all. Some stories work better with 50/50; 90/10; 80/20. It is how the author presents the story that makes it work.
I absolutely enjoyed the fact that the Bender family was mixed Amish/Englisch. It leaves me wondering and how many mixed Amish/Englisch families there are in real life. I think it would be interesting to research. And, also does it differ between the Old-World Amish and New World Amish?
I am excited to read the next book set in Sutter County. And, since it is being released in August, I won’t be spoiling it by expressing my excitement that Francesca Brown, the forensic artist from this book, will be one of the main characters.
It’ll be interesting to meet a new cast of characters or rather an additional cast. I’m hoping some of the previous characters do pop up here or there.
I am eager to see if Beth’s sister will have a more prominent story down the road. I am really interested in her before and after story. I actually wanted a bit more than what was presented here as I felt there was something else going on. That could also be the nature of the genre – suspense. But, I’m going to hope the author revisits that particular story down the road.
Another conclusion I need – Daisy. Due to a temporary situation, Beth was given a service dog – Daisy. Yet, by the end – I felt so sorry for the poor dog as it seems she’d been forgotten 😳🫣
However, it was interesting in reading how the Amish viewed and treated their dogs as opposed to how the Englisch do. Their view on horses was also as interesting. The Amish see them more as a work/practical animal, where the Englisch see them as a work and sport animal.
Most suspense books don’t have an overwhelming humor element, some don’t even have a single moment – which, given the topics and genre – is understandable. There’s no right or wrong way.
I only mentioned it because of a scene in the book where Gideon and Beth are traveling with someone. Their driver mentions an aggressive driver must’ve gotten his license out of a cereal box 🤪🤣 I was in hysterics! It truly lightened the tone of the book for a moment while injecting a bit of real life. Who hasn’t asked that question or made that statement during a trip out amongst the populace? It was a delightful moment in yet another great read by the author.
If you’re like me, and have been keeping up with the Benders – you need to read this book. This is a wonderful closure to the Bender family story.
As this is distributed by the Christian line from Harlequin, and is an Amish story, there will be mentions of the faith. These are quite mild and not overwhelming.
I love this series! Set in Ohio, it’s the ongoing story of the Bender family. Gideon has known and been friends with Beth Troyer all his life, until her sister stepped in between them. Now, Beth has endured some tragedies and needs help. Plenty of action in this story.
Amish Witness to Murder(Amish Country Justice #18) by Dana R. Lynn Beth Troyer is heading home when she smells smoke ands realizes that it’s her barn that’s on fire. Beth witnesses her father’s murder and the murderer hits her in the back of the head causing blindness. Gideon was her best friend and the boy she loved until her sister stole him. Gideon is on the volunteer Fire and Rescue so he shows up and finds Beth on the ground bleeding from a head wound and her father shot. Gideon doesn’t want anything to happen to Beth even though he has separated himself from the Troyer family because of Miriam’s falsehood towards him. Can Gideon keep her safe with a murderer after her? Can Beth allow him to help her after he turned his back on their friendship? Will Beth be permanently blind? This was my first book I have read from this series and I loved it. I will definitely be reading the others. This book was full of suspense, intrigue, friendship, family and mystery! I received this ARC book and I’m leaving my honest review! A must read!
AMISH WITNESS TO MURDER by Dana R. Lynn is the 18th book in the Amish Country Justice series. It’s the exceptional written, suspenseful story of Beth Troyer’s brush with death and the run for their life adventures thereafter with a former friend, who she has no choice but to lean on, as she struggles with the temporary blindness brought on by the man that murdered her daed.
Beth and her sister, Miriam, had been raised by her daed after the passing of her mother when Beth was just two. It broke her daed’s heart when Miriam jumped the fence to the Englisch world leaving only a short note behind. Every since, it had been just the two of them. Beth was headed home to fix her daed lunch, when the Sutter Springs, Ohio volunteer fire department flew by her. She soon realized that it was the Troyer’s barn, that housed the family’s auction business, that was on fire. Knowing that the men would do all they could to contain the fire and save as much as possible, she went in search of her daed. It was at the back of the barn that she saw a large, bearded man she’d never seen before with a choke hold on her daed. Although he won’t fight the man, he did manage to get loose and was walking away. When to her horror, she saw the man pull out a gun and shoot her daed in the back. When she screamed it alerted the man to her presence and he turned to shot her. The gun didn’t fire and Beth ran only to be hit from behind with something that knocking her out. When found, taken to the hospital and eventually came to, she found out that the hit she took and the fall cause almost total blindness. She could see some shadows and light but no distinct shapes or faces. How was she going to survive? With the death of her daed, she has no one to turn to.
Gideon Bender had once been extremely close to the Troyer family. He’d always considered Beth his closest friend, but it was Miriam that caught his heart. When he found out she was only having fun and had no intentions of marrying him, he cut himself completely away from the whole family. It was his way of dealing with the betrayal he felt. It was Gideon that found Beth unconscious behind the barn. In that instant, he knew how unfairly he had treated Beth and Amos. He’d never have a chance to make amends to the man he admired and that had treated him like a son. He would though do all within his power to protect Beth and to help find the person responsible for bringing this sorrow to her.
With her home trashed after someone seemed determined to find something and after an attempt on Beth’s life at the hospital, even with a posted guard, it was decided that going to Gideon’s family home would be safer than the hospital. It pays to have a brother-in-law that was a Sargent on the police department, a brother that was a former bounty hunter and another brother that’s a U.S. Marshall to help keep them protected and safe. Going by her home when given the all clear from the police, Beth knew it would be hard to do, even if she could see. Even with her misgivings of how Gideon had abandoned their friendship, she was glad he was there to support her. That help became even more necessary when it seems that the man out to get her would try to burn down her home with them in it. Barely managing to escape through a second story window, it became very apparent that someone was definitely out to kill Beth.
Can Gideon manage to keep his promise to himself to keep Beth safe? Can they outrun and use Gideons “genius” way of thinking to outsmart the one’s determined to kill them? Can Beth forgive and forget the hurt of how Gideon broke their friendship bond? Will her blindness have her looking at things differently? Can Gideon prove to her how very sorry he is making it possible for them to more forward? Is it possible that the break up with Miriam was God’s way of telling him he didn’t pick the sister he was really in love with for all the right reasons? Will Miriam come back and if so, how will that affect things? Can they capture this evil man with a beard that took Beth’s daed all too soon? Can they prevent him from harming anyone else? Will Beth’s vision problems turn out to be permanent or temporary?
AMISH WITNESS TO MURDER is a well-written highly suspenseful story that will grab you from the first page and carry you as fast as you can turn the pages to the very last satisfying page. It’s a story on the bonds of friendship, love and strength of family, intrigue and mystery, second chances and dangerous situations. Dana R. Lynn wraps it all in a wonderful thread of faith that says never give up because God has it all in hand. HE’s beside you just waiting for you to ask. AMISH WITNESS TO MURDER is a FIVE STAR book that needs to be on everyone’s must read list! I highly recommend it to anyone that loves a fabulous story – be it Amish genre, inspirational romance, a suspense story or just an amazing read.
I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own. #AmishWitnessToMurder #DanaRLynn #LoveInspiredSuspense #InspirationalRomance #Amish #mustread
Amish Witness to Murder by Dana R. Lynn (Amish Country Justice Book 18) To identify her father’s killer… she must stay alive After finding her family’s barn in flames and witnessing her father’s murder, Beth Troyer becomes the killer’s next target. She narrowly escapes death when the murderer turns on her, but now she’s left temporarily blind. She’ll have to rely on former family friend Gideon Bender to keep her safe until her eyesight returns. But with a killer who’ll stop at nothing to find her, staying alive might just be impossible… This is Beth Troyer's story. This is Gideon Bender's story. She should have been home an hour ago. Grimacing, Beth Troyer flicked the reins to coax the elderly mare from a plodding walk to a trot. She was on the way home from town to fix lunch for her father when she heard the familiar sirens coming her way. Two minutes later, the first emergency response vehicle crested the hill behind her, blasting its horn in warning. Clicking her tongue, she gripped the reins tighter in her hands and slowed the buggy before she steered the faithful family mare to the side of the road. Obediently, the animal plodded to the shoulder. Miriam’s haus. Gideon Bender buried the well-known sensation of bitterness working its way into his mind. He could taste it on his tongue. But now was not the time to dwell on her betrayal. He couldn’t let it matter. No matter what his former almost-fiancée had done to him, her family was innocent and needed help. Tom, the driver, pulled in behind a familiar police cruiser and opened the door. I recommend this book. Amish Witness to Murder by Dana R. Lynn is a 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Dana R. Lynn . I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own. From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith. Amish Country Justice Book 1: Plain Target Book 2: Plain Retribution Book 3: Amish Christmas Abduction Book 4: Amish Country Ambush Book 5: Amish Christmas Emergency Book 6: Guarding the Amish Midwife Book 7: Hidden in Amish Country Book 8: Plain Refuge Book 9: Deadly Amish Reunion Book 10: Amish Country Threats Book 11: Covert Amish Investigation Book 12: Amish Christmas Escape Book 13: Amish Cradle Conspiracy Book 14: Her Secret Amish Past Book 15: Crime Scene Witness Book 16: Hidden Amish Target Book 17: Hunted at Christmas Book 18: Amish Witness to Murder Book 19: Protecting the Amish Child
A fast-paced story that kept me turning the pages from start to finish. Beth returned home after some errands to find the barn on fire and her father locked in a struggle with an unknown assailant. She watched in horror as the man pulled a gun and shot her father, then turned his attention to her. Only the arrival of the fire department saved her life, but his attack left her temporarily blind. One of the volunteer firefighters found her and her father.......
Gideon is a former family friend. He and Beth were good friends until her sister set her sights on him. After Miriam's betrayal, Gideon cut himself off from Beth and her father. Now, he realizes what a mistake that was and regrets that he will never be able to make amends to the man who treated him like a son. He is determined to do everything he can to protect Beth and help bring the killer to justice.
I ached for Beth. From watching her father get murdered to being dependent on someone else for everything, it was hard for someone as independent and self-sufficient as she was. Harder still was being dependent on Gideon after the way he abandoned their friendship. Her reluctance to trust him was understandable. Gideon is determined to win back her trust and quickly realizes that Beth has always held his heart. It takes some time for Beth to come around and trust him with her heart again. I liked the ending and how she waited to be sure her feelings weren't affected by the danger they experienced.
The suspense of the story was terrific. Beth's fear was intense, but so was her determination to catch the murderer. The twists and turns involved in staying one step ahead of the killer's intention to eliminate the only witness to his crime kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. The intensity increased with every attempt the killer made as he became more desperate to stop Beth from identifying him. Though I knew it would work out in the end, there were times when I wasn't sure how they would survive.
I enjoyed seeing characters from previous books in the series. Gideon's police officer brother-in-law, Steve, played an essential role in this book. I also enjoyed seeing Micah, Zeke, and Isaiah again and catching up on their lives. Now that we are done with the Bender family, I can't wait to see what the author has next!
Loved this book! I was hooked from the first page. I don't normally read many Amish books but this was so riveting I just kept reading until I had to quit and then started reading again and read until I finished it. I just had to know who was attempting to murder Beth after she saw her father get killed by someone. Her friend Gideon arrives at her house to assist with the putting out the fire at the workshop building. Beth doesn't know why her father was killed or why the building was set on fire. She hasn't seen Gideon in a couple years, since he and her sister broke up. She feels a bit awkward accepting Gideon's help and his family's hospitality, but she doesn't feel safe staying at her place with someone attempting to kill her. She is worried the killer will try to get her at Gideon's family home but agrees to stay with them. While walking the killer again tries to get her but she eludes him and Gideon eventually finds her hiding. She finally decides she needs to go to another town to stay with extended family so that Gideon and his family stay safe. Fast forward a bit and we find that Beth and Gideon are trapped in Beth's bedroom while packing her bag for the trip. The only way out is through her bedroom window but the outside wall is on fire, so they have to exit quickly to the roof and jump to the adjacent tree and climb down. Beth is fearful that she will fall or die while trying to get out. They make it out safely and realize that she really isn't safe anywhere in the area. Will Beth make it to her extended family safely? Will the killer be caught? You'll have to read the book to find out.
Amish Witness to Murder is book 18 in the Amish Country Justice Series that is written by Dana R. Lynn. Gideon Bender finally gets his own story. I have been waiting for his story. The author has really hit it out of the park with this story. Readers have gotten to know the Bender family through previous stories.
Beth and her sister, Miriam were raised by their father after their mother died. Beth still lives at home and is running late one day to meet her father for lunch. She sees smoke coming from the road she lives on and says a silent prayer.
Gideon had his heart broken by Beth's sister, Miriam. She ran off to the English world. He is a volunteer fire fighter and he is called to the scene of a fire at an Amish Household. He soon discovers that it is the Troyer household. He is checking the scene out, and he stumbles across Beth badly hurt.
It becomes clear that Beth stumbled across something she was not supposed to. She has a target on her back, and Gideon needs to put aside his feelings and protect her.
This book is packed full of action and suspense. You will want to keep turning pages to find out what happens next. Who would want to hurt an Amish man? I loved all the heart pounding action in this story.
The author has done an amazing job with Gideon's story. This is one that I was waiting on. The book is well written, the storyline is engaging.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.
Beth Troyer has been traumatized both mentally and physically after witnessing her father's murder. Now a killer, bent on revenge and erasing any witnesses to his depraved behavior, is determined to kill Beth as well.
Gideon Bender used to be Beth's best friend, at least until he broke heart many years ago. Their relationship has never been the same. However, now that her life is in danger, she will have to trust the Bender family, and most especially Gideon, while also guarding her heart as well.
A ruthless killer keeps the excitement and energy levels high and anticipatory as they not only are trying to survive, but are also trying to outwit this killer while trying to solve the mystery of why this has happened.
I felt such empathy for Beth. She has lost everything, and now she is on the run for her life. I admire her tenacity and her strong faith. She never loses focus on the fact that prayer does change things and God is ultimately in charge. I breezed through this book in one afternoon. The quick pace of the plot was perfect for me, and the suspense and intrigue were on target as well. I love the Bender family and their extended family. It was good to catch up with old friends from previous books. If you enjoy a suspense-filled mystery with a little romance on the side, you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If you haven't read a Dana R. Lynn romantic suspense book before, what in the world are you waiting for??? I've read a pretty fair number, and every one rivals the best I've read.
Amish Witness to Murder falls neatly into Lynn's Amish Country Justice series. Beth Troyer witnesses her father's murder and is nearly killed herself as she runs from the scene. The blow to her head causes temporary blindness which makes her unable to work with a sketch artist. Can she stay out of the clutches of a murderer intent on silencing the only witness to his crimes?
Gideon Bender has known for a while that he made a terrible mistake when he fell for Beth's deceitful sister, Miriam. When she dumped him to go Englisch, he lost not only her but his best friend, Beth. Finding an injured Beth outside her family's burning auction barn, Gideon steps in to rescue her, and ultimately to protect her as a killer dogs her steps.
Can an Amish pacifist keep Beth out of a gunman's sights long enough to have his brothers (who are no longer Amish ) arrest the killer?
This story had all the action readers could want, and a happy ending, too. Reading this will make you want to go back and pick up all of the rest in the series. It's Amish suspense, with a hefty dose of faith. I loved it !
This is by far a great story from author Dana Lynn. There is no story she writes that have disappointed.
In Amish to Murder, Beth Troyer becomes a target after she sees her beloved father killed. And the man who did it as well. But the clue she has to who done it fall into a darkness when she is left temporarily blind. Gideon a friend of the family finds her and is determined to help her despite the distance that came between them.
But with her blindness and attacks at her, Gideon and the sheriff are determined to keeping her safe and alive before the killer finds her.....again.
Can she recover her sight in between attacks at her? And help identify the person who murdered her father? Will they embrace the closeness they feel for each other or will the distance keep them apart?
The end will have you in awe for the identity of the person will shock you.
I received an ARC from the author/publisher all stated here are my own. I was not required to post a positive comment.
I’ve been waiting for Gideon Bender’s story for at least two books now, and Dana R Lynn did NOT disappoint! Gideon Bender and Beth Troyer used to be best friends until a betrayal tore them apart. When Beth witnesses her father’s murder and is temporarily blinded by the same man, she must rely on Gideon and his family. Faced with a killer who will stop at nothing, can Gideon keep Beth safe long enough to realize the mistake he made in Enid by their friendship?
I’ve loved Gideon’s character for a while now and Beth Troyer is a perfect match for him. Strong, hardworking, and outspoken, Beth is no shrinking violet. I loved her fierceness and willingness to trust, a rare combination in heroines. The stakes were high throughout the story but didn’t take away from the budding love story. It was also great to see cameos of other favorite characters.
This was a fantastic end to a great series on the Bender family. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Lynn takes us next!
Beth Troyer comes home to find her family's barn on fire and then witnesses her father's murder. Why was her father murdered, what was going on? Beth narrowly misses the killer's crosshairs when the murderer turns and sees that she saw him. Beth is lucky and escapes death, but is knocked out by the killer, leaving her temporarily blind. Beth must rely on a former family friend, Gideon Bender to keep her safe until her eyesight returns. But can she trust him, he already hurt her once before? Beth must put that a side with a murderer on the loose who will stop at nothing to find Beth and silence her for good, Beth and Gideon must fight for their lives and stay alive. This book is full of twists and turns that keep you wanting to read more and more to find out if they will make it out alive. A great read and I highly recommend it! Great job Dana!
Beth Troyer arrives at home to find the barn on fire and goes to find her Dad, but instead witnesses her Dad’s murder behind the barn. The killer tries to kill Beth in his attempt to get away. The knock to Beth’s head causes temporary blindness and Beth has to rely on her estranged childhood best friend Gideon Bender and his family to be her eyes and protectors from the killer who is trying to kill her now because she saw the murder.
This book had me at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next to Beth and if she would be able to survive the multiple attempts on her life.
I would highly recommend reading this book if you love action-packed inspirational suspense stories.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. The review expressed here is my honest opinion.
Left temporarily blind when attacked after witnessing her father's murder, Beth Troyer must rely on her estranged, childhood best friend, Gideon Bender, to be her eyes and protector. The killer relentlessly pursues Beth in her quiet Amish community. Will Gideon be able to keep her safe?
Filled with continuous action, this book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen to Beth next, and how or if she would survive it. Dana R. Lynn always snags and hold your attention from start to finish. She did not disappoint on this one either. I strongly recommend reading this if you like action-packed, twisty, intriguing, inspirational suspense.
I received an advance copy to read and all opinions are my own.
This fast-paced story will keep readers on the edge of their seat. The suspense starts early on, and Beth's fear is palpable. She's determined to find the killer, but the killer is just as determined to prevent that from happening.
It's easy to connect with and root for Beth, who's lost everything and now doing all she can to save her life. Her faith is strong, which is encouraging in the face of danger. For readers who are familiar with the Amish Country Justice series, they'll enjoy seeing characters from the previous books. It was wonderful to see Beth and Gideon get their own story.
While this is a great addition to the series, it can be read as a standalone novel.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.
This book is the last book with the five Bender siblings. Needless to say, I have read them all. It was nice to return to Ohio to read the last story about Gideon Bender. I loved how this story ties in with the lives of the other siblings and to learn how their families had grown. Gideon’s story is a story of forgiving the past, and realizing your future has always been there in front of your face. It’s a harrowing tale of trying to stay a step ahead of a cold blooded killer that doesn’t care how many people he hurts or kills in his path. Great plot line, story well developed and interesting characters. I enjoyed the book very much.
Dana R. Lynn gives us another fast paced, action filled suspense and romance with Amish Witness to Murder. Beth and Gideon’s story is filled with tense and tender moments as Beth and Gideon renews their friendship after Gideon promised to keep her safe from the killer who murdered her father. Travel the journey through the tale that gives way to how the Bender’s family assist to protect loved ones, renewed friendship, forgiveness, budding romance while hope and faith in God shows His hand is upon them despite the past.
I received an early copy of this book from the author without any obligation to write a positive review. I have shared my own sincere thoughts.
I’m sad to see the final book in the five Bender siblings story as I love this family. Lots of suspense to keep you biting your nails with subtle romance boiling below the surface to keep you turning pages. Beth endures so much trauma with grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. She finds that her former best friend becomes the rock she can trust and rely on. A story of faith, family, forgiveness, and rising from the ashes literally and figuratively. A quick read that is very entertaining. I received a complimentary copy from the author. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
Each of this authors Love Inspired Suspense books are packed full of action, twists and turns but most Importantly they all have characters that soon become your friends as you get vested into their stories. Beth Troyer and Gideon Bender story by far was my favorite as each of them holds true to their faith even when it’s put to the test. This is a quick read with page after page of heart stopping action. I loved it and ‘encourage you all to read as well. I was gifted a copy but not required to leave a review. Happy Reading
Amish Witness to Murder by Dana R. Lynn is book #18 in her Amish Country Justice series. Once again we are back with The Bender family. This story focuses on Gideon Bender and former family friend Beth Troyer. I have loved all the Bender family books and this one is no exception. It will definitely have you holding your breath until the very end. The whodunit will also keep you guessing until all is revealed. And best of all, we get an amazing epilogue. =) So grab a hot cup of tea, settle in with a blanket, and spend the afternoon/night reading this thrilling tale. I'm so happy I did! I was given a copy, but all opinions are my very own.
