This Omega doesn’t do drama, drugs, or hockey players. The first two for obvious reasons. The last because I don’t shit where I eat. As the daughter of the Phoenix Heat’s owner, I know better than to dip my toes into that particular pool. The league is way too small a world, and I am a drama-free zone. When my daddy strongly suggests ( insists) I come home for a visit, how can I say no? But without my besties by my side, there’s no one to stop me from making an epicly stupid decision when I discover the Heat’s captain in a compromising position. I’m suddenly in the one place I swore I’d never be…a hockey player’s bed, forging pack bonds I had no intention of having. When scandal erupts around us, I vow to do whatever it takes to save my new pack, even at my own expense. In a moment of desperation, I lock lips with their nemesis right on the kiss cam. Now, I’m the one in desperate need of saving from the grumpy center of the Chicago Storm. Can this Omega bridge the gap between these mortal enemies, or have I just doomed us all?

For Trigger Warnings, please visit my website. He's So Slick is book one in the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse Universe, a series of fast-burn reverse harem romance standalones. This book includes MMFMM. Each book will end in an HEA and lead into the next book with a new feisty omega and her own rough around the edges, hockey playing alphas.

Meh. More plot holes than I care to even write down. Don't feel like writing out an entire review, so I'm copying and pasting the notes I took while reading, and maybe adding a little.

‼️ Spoilers probably

Wtf why are there only three guys in the cover when she has four mates? And the one missing from the cover is the one that kept fading into the background, was a surprise addition towards the latter part of the book, AND they had all been bonded for weeks and didn't even remember that he wasn't bonded to them until he said something at the very end. Like??? Can this poor character please get better treatment? (Added another note about him below, and it's just so funny to me that the story can be this sloppy about a supposed main character.)

Grovel sucked. Like it wasn't even there kind of sucked. She just needed them so she took them all back smh.

Pretty good smut. If you like fisting and dpv, this has a good scene with those in it. If you like smut in general, this is your read, since it's all over this book.

The most insta-love of insta-loves I've read in a while. Wish there was more push and pull before they were ready to go all in with someone they'd met only moments before.

Surface level connections bolstered by nothing but their insta-feelings.

The first part of the book makes a big deal about her fame and the paparazzi, but then it is never an issue again, even when they publicly come out as a pack. Does the media just not care anymore? No more hounding her? She doesn't need to kiss anyone else to throw off their attention? LMAO

Speaking of which, I added the dubious cheating tag because she had bonded with her Omega and had plans to bond with her alpha, and they were becoming a pack, and then she purposely went on camera and kissed two men (one of them was a rival of her Omega) without telling them. It was clear to us, the reader, that they were also going to end up as her mates, but her actual mates had no idea of that, and it felt icky.

Why have a male omega if you're going to treat him like a beta? His designation comes in and she has to help him through his first heat, and then it is NEVER an issue after that. He acts like a beta, he steps aside and lets her be the omega as if he's a beta, he has no Omega traits other than lots of slick. Why is the book named for him, and why was this such a big part of the beginning story if it's never brought up again? Does he struggle? Does he change at all? No. It was just a useful little thing to bring the FMC together with him and his BFF until it wasn't needed anymore.

No closure with Nash's family drama. How did he take care of it and make it stop? Did that even happen, or was it just a reason to give the grumpy guy a backstory? We're never told.

We're told that the rest of the pack came together and sorted out their differences, and they were planning to buy a house in Phoenix. But we're NOT told what happened with Ziggy's life, and if he got another job in Phoenix, since he was an actual professor at a college in Chicago. This is the same guy that was mentioned above that was an after thought all the time, who they even forgot to bond for weeks until he reminded them he wasn't included in their cute little I-can-feel-your-feelings discussions. He's also not on the book cover. SMH.

“Bright eyes, I’m damn good on and off the ice. Just say the word, and I’ll prove it to you.”

Holy shit! I could not put this book down! It was an absolutely fantastic, sweet read that left me grinning throughout. There is minimal angst (looking at you, Mr. Grumpypants...) and loads of all-in males who are heads over heels for their omega.

For a fast-paced, insta-lust turned insta-love (yay, biology) romance, there is still a good amount of relationship building outside those urges to bite and claim. I loved how the characters took a mental step back before accepting that their biology knew better than their heads. (Well, most of them, once again, side-eyeing the grump).

This fast-burn romance includes two heats, MF, MM, MMF, MFM, and group play! Bonus points for an omega sandwich, some bi-awakening, and lots of biting/claiming. Though there are two omegas, the pack dynamics revolve around the FMC. She is their anchor and light.

While billed as a separate universe, there are cameos of characters from the Knot Yours Omegaverse series. I was so thrilled to see some familiar faces.

I highly recommend this book to omegaverse and hockey-loving readers.

Genre: Omegaverse Hockey Romance
Tropes/Features: sweet omegaverse, Grumpy/sunshine, best friends to lovers, mild age gap, alphahole, chosen family, hockey princess FMC, two omegas, sexy beta, low angst, rival hockey players, two heats, biting, bonding, knots, slick, bi-awakening MM, group play, professor/student play, bondage
Narrator: Mulitple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why choose MMFMM, fast burn, very spicy (two heats and kinks)
Book Type/Ending: Standalone in Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse Universe, HEA
TW/CW: Available on author’s website

There is very little plot in this book - it's mostly smut. This is a hockey omegaverse where 2 of the guys are on a rival hockey team than another one. It's a fairly quick read with insta-lust leading to some pretty quick insta-love, but it kind of worked with the story. Nash Daniels was definitely my favorite character, followed by Ziggy. I also really liked West's dad, which was random, but he was cute.

I honestly have no idea how to rate it. It's not particularly good, and I probably won't ever re-read this, but it's what I was in the mood for.

There is a in this, so if that's not your jam, then maybe this isn't for you. Again, I didn't mind it because it kind of worked for the story.

The ending was extremelyyyyy corny and cheesy. (like, I cringed...lol)

Look, the romance is good, and I love Sinclair Kelly’s writing style, but for the love of the hockey gods, please go to a game before writing the next book. Or at least get an alpha or beta reader who does.

- the starting goalie comes out first, not last
- every line comes out to at the beginning, then the starting lineup is announced after the other players get to the bench.
- the captain is the last onto the ice, not the first
- co-captains aren’t a thing. Alternate captains are, and there are usually three of them.
- 2 shots on goal in a single period from a team that might be headed to the playoffs is ridiculous. 10 shots on goal in a period is low. Two would make them a laughingstock.
- you head to the ‘playoffs’. You don’t head to the ‘championship’ unless you make it to round four of the playoffs.
- also, they’re playing for the ‘cup’.
- they don’t just trade for a new starting center right before the last game of the regular season. That would be flat out offensive. Not just to the other team, but to the centers on the other three lines.
- the rink is surrounded by extremely hard plastic, called ‘glass’. It’s also around each bench. A player couldn’t just walk up and kiss someone on the seat next to the bench.
- a random person couldn’t just sit in an on the glass seat after the first period. Those are some of the most coveted and expensive spots in the rink, they’re not just left empty for whoever after the first period.
- the off season is 5 months tops not 6, but that doesn’t include practices. If they make it to the championship round they might get a month, maybe two off before they’re right back at it.

I’m not going to even touch her getting ice time or them putting a table on the ice right before a game cause 🙄

Seriously, I wanted to like this, but watching or going to a single game would’ve fixed most of these issues. Getting an alpha or beta reader with a clue about hockey would’ve fixed most of these issues. A tiny bit of research would’ve handled the most abhorrent ones (like the length of the off season for example). The blatant laziness blaring off the page regarding hockey is borderline offensive.

I could’ve given this three stars because a 2 for the hockey issues alone seems harsh. But Nash got off wayyyyyyyy too easily after his horrible behavior. More time was spent with the heroine miserable from what he did than was spent with her getting love from her other men during that time or from them being happy afterward. That should say more than enough.

Overall, I really wanted to like this, but instead it just annoyed me. Don’t write hockey romance if you know nothing about the game. This just screams ‘hockey is trending and I want to get a piece of the pie without actually knowing anything about the sport’. I don’t recommend it. And I hope with all of my heart the author is smart enough to do some research before the next one. But I won’t hold my breath.

its a 1-2 if you don’t like omegaverse (me) or a 3-4 if you like omegaverse and insta love on 2.5x speed (not me)

Oh my god. This was so fucking sweet!
I’m swooning, for real.
I loved this.

The banter, the dirty talk, the sex, the sweetness in between..all of it was so good.
I wish we got more time with all of them, just getting to know them better, especially Ziggy, but it was just too good to even care that much.

I’m so glad I picked it up after going back and forth with my interest.

Though, I am a little disappointed that there’s only 3 of the guys on the cover…that doesn’t seem fair.

Way too many plot holes to ignore, nothing really happened, like a problem would arise and the book would just change topics without any resolution whatsoever.
Nash was bland and way too much of an asshole without the redemptive treat, Ziggy had a ridiculous name to moan during sex like be so fucking for real AND he was thoroughly ignored the whole time, they even FORGOT TO BOND HIM for w e e k s like ???? insane. Porter was an omega who had zero omega traits and acted like a beta and the start of the book focus around his sudden omega awakening and the press reaction for it to not be discussed ever again 😭 Huxley was ok.

Can someone explain to me why is there only three men on the book cover if we have four mmcs? And tell me how I just know that the man missing is Zig lol why write him at all if he was just a side character to be tossed aside when the nice calm guy wasn't needed anymore for the scene...

I have more thoughts but I'm too lazy to write them sorry

Let’s give thanks that I already knew what the whole omegaverse world is about and I was able to read this book calmly without getting lost, besides it’s a new author for me and I loved her writing style.

Now let’s continue with the story, all this follows West who is an omega, daughter of the owner of a hockey team and let’s say she is famous just for that but don’t be fooled, our protagonist who has been through so much has a strong attitude and not at all spoiled, I really liked her way of being as well as facing each step with her mates, not being scared and being the voice of reason for all of them because yes, for me she was the one who wore the pants in the whole pack.

And if we talk about the boys each one couldn’t be more different: First we have Porter, our omega who had a late awakening, here is where I go back to stress that knowing about the omegaverse is good because yes, someone can have a late assignment and here was the case, I liked him and I can say he was my favorite of the four, then we have Huxley who is our alpha and is Porter’s best friend and goalie of the team, he like Porter seemed centered, a bit rough but with a huge heart did I like him? yes, I liked that he wasn’t afraid when he was presented with the opportunity to have a pack; now we continue with Nash and oh God this alpha is stubborn, he is on the rival team in a completely different city but by fate West is also destined to him, let’s say that on more than one occasion I wanted to enter the book to hit him and last but not least we have Ziggy who for me was a total surprise, the personality of this beta all calm but also daring won my heart.

I liked the relationship of these 5, without giving spoilers here I liked how they discovered that they liked each other, yes there were some things on the part of the men that was although understandable because let’s face it they were rivals, if it gave me drama and that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars, but otherwise it’s a good story, full of spicy scenes that OH MY GOD WERE VERY GOOD!!! like, I liked them and also full of characters completely different from each other but that complement each other, that is: a perfect pack.

Thanks to the author & Chaotic Creatives for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

3.5 stars.

I enjoyed a lot of the elements in here, but nothing went quite deep enough (except for the knots...🤣). For instance, the male omega thing was awesome... but then, the author had to bring in too many other storylines. West is a great athlete and that almost was a storyline, but fell flat. The whole Nash thing where he does that bizarre grand gesture at the end after peace-outing for over a month without a word? Not my favorite. Ziggy's whole weird BDSM stuff.. like, what was with that rope thing he did? Made no sense.

I'm pretty sure you can't tell you're pregnant within 6 days... but maybe? This is an alternative universe where designations exist.

It was readable and brainless which is apparently, my schtick right now.

back to back omegaverse wasn’t my brightest idea.

not as good as the previous one i read but still had different dynamics that were interesting to read. really didn’t like nash tho. it felt like he was more interested in owner her like property than actually being in a relationship with her. no thanks

Genre: Adult Omegaverse Romance
4/5🌶️
3/5 🪢

Tropes and themes: why choose omegaverse, quasi-scent matches, hockey romance, grumpy x sunshine, MM, bi-awakening, heat/care, team owner’s daughter, kink

Pack Dynamics:
Omega (F): West
Omega (M): Porter
Alpha (M): Huxley
Alpha (M): Nash
Beta (M): Ziggy

Summary:
West grew up in the world of hockey, loves hockey, but has vowed to never date or sleep with hockey players. All of her best laid plans go up in smoke when she attends a charity event put on my her father, the owner of a NHL team. At this event, she meets Porter, a beta player on the team, but shortly after they first meet, Porter finds himself transitioning into an omega. West feels compelled to help him through his oncoming heat, and when his best friend Huxley decides that he’s the alpha these two omegas need, all bets are off. West explores her connection with Porter and Huxley, but she can’t stop thinking about Nash, a rival hockey player she met in Chicago, or his roommate, a beta college professor, Ziggy.

Thoughts:
This was a quick, fast-burn, read but I really enjoyed it. It was perfect as a palate cleanser. The pace was quick but not too fast, and I appreciate that the relationships didn’t beat around the bush. Likewise, I feel like you get to know the characters well, even though there isn’t gobs of character development.
The spice was top notch omegaverse goodness. There was some kinky things that I personally love to see in the genre including, but not limited to: fisting and DVP.
And the love stories were good for the length of the book. Definitely nothing super deep, but I honestly really appreciated the intensity and fast-burn. It was exactly what I needed at the moment.
The only reason this isn’t getting 5⭐️ is because I do feel that Ziggy, the beta, didn’t get as much page time or development and it did feel a little off balance.

Otherwise, this is a great, quick and dirty, palate cleansing omegaverse that I definitely see myself recommending!!

This was my first book by this author and it was a great read.
Fast paced, great characters.
The spice was on point.
I love a Hockey romance but mix in some hot headed Alpha’s and I’m sold!

West is our Omega MFC and she quickly finds herself drawn to Porter, Hux, Nash and Ziggy. But things are not that simple…. Porter and Hux have a rivalry with Nash which causes some conflict as they try to navigate pack bonds.

I will definitely be reading the next book.

“Talented. Brilliant. Incredible. Amazing. Show stopping. Spectacular. Never the same. Totally unique. Completely not ever been done before.” - me pretending to be Lady Gaga but referencing this book.

I loved this so much.

Stupid hotheaded alphas. An omega and a twist. A charming little beta surprise. Hockey. Heats. Heart. Vibes. UGH.

And in my dreams West was the omegaverse version of Connie Moreau and these do-do birds were more of the mighty ducks and that made my giddy and my heart happy and even with a trope I HATE I loved everything and this book is about to be my new personality.

I loved it. 10000/10 simply for vibes alone would absolutely read it again 17 more times omg I need you all to read this Sinclair Kelly PLEASE KEEP WRITING FOREVER THANK YOU.

This book was fantastic. There were parts that had me laughing out loud. This is part of a shared universe. You do not need to read the other books but I would recommend it.

Back to the goods. I am not going to spoil anything. Just know there is hockey, omegas, heats, and slick. Make sure to read with your favorite fuzzy socks, a fluffy blanket and copious amounts of ice cream.

I think Cadence and Barrett will be the next installment. ;)

Gah hero

I LOVED this one.

The change to kick us off really and her being the hero there. The rough patches and bit that make you wanna smack em.

Sinclair did an amazing job writing, the characters are ones you fall for. And the plot is the relationship building and growth.

The plot is 4 ⭐️
The spice is 5🌶
The tw is 0, its low as its light and fluffy ov hockey✔️

Unrated - DNF 25%

Why do I have to be such a picky bitch??

I don't like reading Omegaverse books that contain two omegas. I just can't do it. I need the FMC to be the center of the relationship. I can't enjoy Omegaverse stories with two needy omegas where the alpha attention has to be split.

At the beginning of this book, Porter awakens as an omega and starts going into heat. He and Huxley have been best friends since childhood and love each other. So West (FMC omega) and Huxley (Alpha) help Porter (male omega) through his heat. They all end up bonded.

There are two omegas and one alpha. Both men already love each other, so West is kind of the outlier in this relationship. Eventually, one other Alpha is added to the harem, but two alphas and two omegas do not make a balanced pack.

Anyway, I'm not rating this book because that wouldn't be fair since I don't like the dynamic being written.

Another hit! Sinclair Kelly writes great Omegaverse books! I loved that we were in the same world she created from her Knot Yours series. Kelly took a different approach to pack building than what I've read in other OV books and it worked well. The was a lot of spice and it was well written. The character development and relationship building fell on the more superficial side so that prevented me from giving this 5 stars. I did find it hard to keep all the characters straight for the first handful of chapters because every one has a masculine/androgynous/surname sounding name.

DNF. I didn’t know/understand what Omegaverse was so that’s on me. I thought I was getting a hockey Why Choose. The “knotting” and such is not my thing, I’m too visual of a reader.

Might be someone else’s thing though. It’s decently written.

This was a DNF for me. I got 10 chapters into the audiobook and I just couldn’t do it. The male narrator was brutal to listen to and there was no build up with the plot whatsoever. I guess this style book is just not my vibe.

Goodness gracious I loved this book!

I always love the insta-love that comes with so many omegaverse stories, where they just know and feel that instant need to be together. I adored West's character. Porter and Hux were such an adorable pair of besties that balanced each other out so well. I loved Nash the absolute grump and Ziggy's character was such a pleasant surprise.

I also really loved that West's dad was such a supportive human, it was so refreshing to see.

This book was full of delicious spice, hilarious banter, and that omegaverse sweetness.

I did receive an ARC copy of this book but I'm leaving this review voluntarily

⭐️4.25. This is a standalone, but is also connected to the Knot Yours Omegaverse. You don't need to read the others to read this, but I would say you need to read some kind of Omegaverse before reading this. As it dives right into all the nitty gritty of their biology, and unless you know the basics of it, it might be confusing.
I absolutely loved this book! As with most Omegaverse, it's insta love to the extreme. I loved the addition of a hockey romance too, as well as a "bad-boy Alpha", and a definite "golden retriever beta." Perfection. It brought the heat in soooo many ways it was a straight-up sin (or sin-bin...becauae it's a hockey romance 😂), and those ways made up at least 60% of the book. I just love the dynamics of pack life, and the chemistry/biology of it all.

I'm easily impressed and don't take many books seriously. Even not knowing anything about hockey I know that there were multipleeee things that were inaccurate, but I don't know ENOUGH to care haha. Smut is top tier hot in my humble opinion. Had never read omegaverse and it's what I thought it would be...magical bonds, possessiveness, whining, biting lol besides some plot points being used just for emotional reasons and never touched on again it was good!

eh it was okay. I feel like there was not enough development in their relationship. Everything happened so fast and they never really addressed the elephant in the room or atleast it wasn't privy to the readers. There was just a large time lapse and boom problem fixed.

I'm all for insta love especially in these types of stories but I still want them to get to know each other and figure out their dynamic together. Since it was just okay and it was pretty short, I gave it a 3/5.
