As far as series finales go, "Terminal Drift" was fairly anticlimactic. Why? Well, it was just another interesting storyline. There was no build up to a final showdown to an epic villain who has been haunting our hero. It was just another story and then the author ends the series.
This time, after months of not being on the payroll of the Council, Rory has been keeping her creditors and debt at bay. At the last minute, Wheelz introduces her to a client who owns a custom car restoration business and this client has a need to deliver a rare and valuable Mercedes to a customer in Las Vegas. Of course, Rory takes the job because she cannot wait to drive the car and Zev manages to invite himself along on the trip. They decide to make a weekend of it.
It seems that Rory and Zev are not the only ones headed to Vegas. Sabella informs Rory that she will be coming to Las Vegas on the second day of their trip to meet with someone. She has booked an exclusive hotel for them to enjoy during the visit.
Delivering the car does not go an easily as it would seem. It seems that a competitive bidder wants his hands on the car by any means necessary and enlists some goons to take possession of the vehicle from Rory and Zev. Of course, Rory or Zev won't allow that to happen and when they deliver the car on time they are rewarded with free show tickets.
While attending the show, Zev is poisoned by a hexed but Rory to the rescue manages to save his life. Neither of them take this threat lightly and they want revenge. Little do they know but this investigation into culprit will have overriding consequences for Sabella as well.
Oh, did I mention that Rory now at the end of her estrangement from the council and they want to meet with her to determine her fate? She will have to make a decision as to whether or not she wants to renew her contract with them or if she wants to go solo. Additionally, new living arrangements just may be made.
I will fully admit that this was a fun read; however, I will also say that it was disappointing for series finale. It just wasn't special nor did it feel like the end. In a way I guess that is good because the author hints that this might not be the end for the characters but there will be a different focus. Who knows? Maybe the next installments will be from Zev's perspective. At any rate, I definitely would like to know what will happen next.

No conclusion, no answers
While I enjoyed reading this series, the last book contained no answers to questions and really no conclusion to the series. It’s like the author just said I’m tired of writing about these characters and I’m done! This is my first time reading a series by this author and I’m not sure I would start another one if this is how her series tend to end. Scratching my head in confusion. The three stars are strictly due to the fact that this series ends on a cliffhanger and it’s totally unnecessary.

I loved reading this series but it feels unfinished. I also found this book to have a lot of grammatical errors in it unlike the previous books. I hope the author changes her mind and decides to continue this series.

not a good conclusion

The book itself isn't too bad, a bit slow at the beginning and a bit rushed in the end.
It has the same issues of the other books in the series with the weak world building and especially with the last three books in the series, I felt like the plot wasn't as mapped out as in the first three.
As for the series in all? Well, the rating goes down drastically. While the plots of the single books are at least entertaining, the overall story arc is a mess of plot holes and poorly timed twists, the world building is too weak for a series that has to rely so much on a magical system and the romance feels more like a friendship thanks to the lack of chemistry.
I don't know if this is going to be that last book in the series or if the author is gonna write more, but for me, this is where I'm gonna stop.

Just came across this series' blurb and will leave a review after finishing it. For book 6, I haven't read it yet, but wanted to offset the troll who rated it 1 star without having read it as it hasn't been released.

An enjoyable read
Another excellent book in this fantasy series. A fast paced and action packed storyline set in a futuristic world where the most powerful magical families rule and everyone else is collateral damage. Highly recommend.

I was surprised to suddenly find myself at the end of the book. I didn’t love how unresolved everything felt, especially given it’s supposed to be the end of the series.
