It’s a book about a very ambitious cop that comes from an even further ambitious family dealing with the loss of her partner and best friend. As she starts to investigate the case that her departed friend has thrusted upon her, she meets the illustrious “adopted brother/best friend” of said partner and sparks fly. As the book goes on you see the FC fall in love while trying to hold onto her career as it becomes clear to see that she is being setup and someone wants her out. I was wrong about my initial prediction on who the Shadow was but it wrapped up nicely. My only complaint was that they wrapped up this career policewoman’s job that she has dedicated her life to into the witness protection rather than her fight to get her job back. She sis however gets her happily ever after so I guess it’s a win all around.
