The Sexton Sisters #2

Falling For My Forbidden Fling

Rate this book
WHAT GOES ON TOUR STAYS ON TOUR, RIGHT?

CHLOE
Even the name Jayden Cooper sends a hot flush of irritation through my veins. His rockstar brother might be about to marry my darling sister, but that does NOT make us family.
Thankfully, there's a continent separating me from his ridiculously attractive but super-smug face. And his arrogant tongue.

I'm rapidly carving my name in the glittering world of celebrity event management... and what better event to manage than the final farewell tour of my sister's fiancé, Ryan Cooper.

It's the biggest gig of my career.
Eight cities.
Eight concerts.
Eight opportunities to propel my business to a global level.

I couldn't turn it down if I wanted to.

The catch?

It involves working with closely with Ryan's agent- his brother, Jayden-Super-Smug-Cooper.

Going on tour with Jayden is almost as inconvenient as the hate-fuelled lust that steals the air straight from my lungs every time he's near.

Someone somewhere is testing me, but I've survived worse. And I'll survive him.

As long as I don't melt under the intensity of his smug but admittedly smouldering stare ...or fall foul of the talents of the aforementioned arrogant tongue...

Especially when technically...like it or not, we're about to be related.

JAYDEN
I've been through hell to get to where I am today.

I'm the best agent in Hollywood's cut-throat industry because I clawed and dragged myself there inch by excruciating inch.

Which is why I refuse to be bossed around by a pushy, Prada-wearing princess when it comes to organising my Rockstar brother's farewell tour. I've got bigger fish to fry, starting with upholding a promise I made a lifetime ago...

But Chloe is about to find out the hard way, what goes on tour stays on tour.

FALLING FOR MY FORBIDDEN FLING is an OPEN DOOR steamy, enemies-to-lovers, contemporary romance, with no cheating, no cliff-hanger, and a guaranteed happy ever after (HEA). This book is a standalone romance that's part of a wider series with overlapping characters. The characters sometimes use profanities because occasionally '"Darn it" just doesn't cut it.

PERFECT READING FOR FANS OF TESSA BAILEY, LUCY SCORE & MEGHAN QUINN.

**** PLEASE NOTE- THIS BOOK WAS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED AS "MY BIG FAT FABULOUS FLING"******

Spice, Spice Baby!

This book has everything you need for a romance, the characters are great, complex and really deep. Chloe was sure to be a complicated character because we met her in book 1 and she’s a confident woman who runs a successful event planning company in Dubai. She’s been burned in the past by a lover and she has a one night rule without complications. She’s suffered losses that she hasn’t delt with that keeps her away from her homeland of Ireland and her sisters.

Jayden is also quite complicated as a character. He’s definitely a player at the start of this book and is a lot like Chloe in that respect, and he and Chloe do not get along. Because Chloe has been engaged to do the event planning for her future brother in laws world wide farewell tour, she must work with Jayden. Things for these two start heating up quickly…and the spice level is high for these two and there is no lack of this in this book. But, the intimacy grows for them both as you read, so the spice makes a lot of sense because the connection grows undeniably as they embark on the world tour.

This is pretty hard to put down once you start.

Sometimes you find an author, you just know will be a favourite and deliver on every book. Lyndsey has definitely done that with this one. She’s brushed off the crown and reminded us why she is QUEEN OF ROMANCE.

This is the second in The Sexton Sisters series, it can be read as a standalone- however, I’d highly recommend the previous book. It will give some details that are mentioned in this book and a massive HEA.

This book is all about Chloe, of course we revisit Sasha and Victoria. However, Chloe is our main lady and centre stage of this one. I love Chloe, she’s fiery, fierce and ruthlessly independent. Her utter hatred of Jayden makes for some great reading in this book.

Chloe has a “no repeats” rule. She is firm on her rules and doesn’t take any rubbish. Gallagher takes us on the journey of her overcoming obstacles and allowing herself to actually “feel”. This has been an emotional journey, filled with moments you laugh out loud, cry and just want to give Chloe a big cwtch.

Jayden is a self confessed manslut, the male equivalent of Chloe. The pair together are completely hilarious and Gallagher has made their chemistry ooze from the pages.

I have been instantly pulled in and kept captive by this one. My Big Fat Fling is a book I have devoured in just one sitting. I have been completely unwilling to put this one down.

Gallagher writes in a way that I have felt as though I have been there with the characters, watching the events play out in front of me. I’ve read all of this author’s books and I can safely say, Lyndsey is an author who always delivers. I admit, this is steamier than previous books but Lyndsey has integrated these perfectly into the pages.

This is a book I absolutely recommend. This is a book that has lifted my spirits and brightened my mood after a tough day. A beautiful read from a queen of the genre.

A must for the TBR. Publishing January 5th.

This is the second book in the Sexton Sisters series - which can totally be read as a standalone but I think you'll enjoy it more if you read the first book first - and it follows Chloe Sexton and Jayden Cooper who can't stand each other but need to put their heads together professionally and plan a farewell tour for Jayden's rock star brother. Once again Lyndsey Gallagher has written a story with such captivating main characters that the reader can't help but root for them. A wonderful story about two people who thought they were meant to go through life alone but end up realizing they may have met their perfect match after all.

Can’t wait to read what comes next!

This is the second book in the Sexton Sisters series but can certainly be read as a standalone.

Chloe, a successful event planner based out of Dubai, gets the chance of a lifetime when she is asked to plan the final tour for her soon-to-be rockstar brother-in-law. The downside: she must work with his manager, Jayden, who is also his brother and possibly the most stuck-up, rude person she's ever met. Or is he?

I got to read an ARC of the first book in this series a few months ago and really enjoyed it so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to read this one! I love the author's writing style. Her books are easy to read, nicely paced, and spicy! I really enjoyed watching Chloe and Jayden both change over the course of the story and you really being to root for them as a couple.

This is an open-door romance and gets pretty spicy. Unlike the first book, where I felt that the spice overtook the plot at times, I felt like the spice really complemented the plot and wasn't too much.

I'm looking forward to the third book in this series and can't wait to read it when it comes out!

Thank you to BookSirens and author Lyndsey Gallagher for the digital copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

MY BIG FAT FABULOUS FLING By Lyndsey Gallangher

Chloe and Jayden have never gotten along and now they have to work together in planning Jayden's rockstar brother's farewell tour.

😊What i liked -

✔ Enemies to Lovers/HEA.
✔ Let me be honest, in the first sexton sister book I did not like Chloe too much . But in this book I understood why she was the way she was.
✔ I thought Jayden was a hoot in the previous book and he was the same in this one too.
✔ It was a treat to read about the many layers of Chloe and Jayden's personality.( complex because of their past but worked so well together)
✔ I loved how bantery they were together but how explosively spicy they were too.
✔ This book is full of drama, twisties, love, heartache and amazingly steamy.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ I would have liked a bit more of the youngest sexton sister too in this one.

📚Who Should read :

💝Romance Lovers
💕Enemies to Lovers Trope Lovers

I absolutely loved this novel! After devouring the first book in the series, My Big Fat Fabulous Christmas, I was excited to dive into book two.

I really liked the banter between Chloe and Jayden, the twists and turns in the story, the travel to exciting cities around the world, the bond Chloe had with Ruby and her sisters, the character growth and the spice... wow! This could be Lyndsey’s hottest novel yet!

A fantastic read, which I highly recommend!

Interesting when a male and female who don’t believe in love meet and both are out for a good time. I enjoyed the back and forth banter and the easy camaraderie between the two. A fun read that’s a second book in series that can be read as a standalone. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

Wow! Lyndsey knocks it out of the park AGAIN!
The chemistry between Jayden and Chloe is off the charts. Two players who think love isn't for them.
My heart felt so full when I finished this book it's has absolutely everything you could want. The banter between the pair is brilliant with great one liners but the story has so much depth without being heavy and the more we learn about the pair we see the heartache underneath.
Jayden is definitely my new book boyfriend, the man has a big heart (and sound very talented 🥵)

Here’s the second installment of the Sexton Sisters book series by @lyndsaygallagherauthor. This time, it’s Chloe Sexton’s story on her journey to dreaming big in carving her name to make way her event management career go globally. However, the universe is trying to play with her. Chloe is going to work with the a man who happens to have a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge in the entertainment business. She’s been hating him since they were kids.

They are both level-headed. They are annoyed to one another. At the same time, they both drive each other crazy. For eight opportunities in eight cities and gigs, will they take this chance to let their hearts be vulnerable to one another? Or will they get away with it?

I am fond of strong female friendship and stubborn women in a story. Therefore, Chloe is a likeable MC to me. The MC’s dynamics are also enjoyable. Watching their chemistry blossom through a fling, it’s such an enjoyable read. It’s as if I am watching a steamy rom-com movie.

The author has developed a slow burn theme in the book because there are instances that the two MC have struggled with miscommunication about their feelings. It’s wonderfully written still despite of those personal struggles. Eventually, their personality has developed as the story progresses. I love it that there are dual POV’s for it has helped me understand the struggles on both sides.

Just like the first installment, it has a lot of surprises. @lyndsaygallagherauthor adds an ingredient in a steamy romance genre. There’s also interesting lives outside the bedroom. For example, Chloe’s career goals, Jayden’s hero complexity, and the support from the other book characters. It adds fun and more entertaining to read.

📚✨Book Review✨📚

My Big Fat Fabulous Fling

Author: Lyndsey Gallagher

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.💫

Notes: I received a copy of this book as an advanced reader, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. This is book 2 in the series and although it can be read as a standalone, I’d highly recommend reading book 1, My Big Fat Fabulous Christmas, first.

What I Liked:

✈️ I have been anticipating a book with Chloe and Jayden ever since they both appeared on page in Book 1 of this series. They did not disappoint!

✈️This book is 🥵. Possibly spicer than book one!

✈️This book was more emotional than you might expect. It started out enemies to lovers who make an agreement to have a fling. Somewhere along the line it flipped to be softer and their interactions were more meaningful.

What I Didn’t Like:

✈️ Halfway through the book I was screaming at them both to stop and talk to each other. I’m not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope, but it didn’t detract from the story… just irked me a bit that’s all.

✈️I don’t like an accidental baby which does happen at one point in this book. Another trope I’m not a fan of, but I still loved this regardless.

Final Thoughts:

✈️ The saddest thing about reading this in advance is knowing there is a third book in the series I now have to wait for. Hopefully not too long though!

This is another good story from this author, related to the characters in “My Big Fat Fabulous Christmas.” That book was a wonderful romance in an Irish castle turned hotel, between the oldest of three sisters and a rock star. The sisters inherited their parents’ hotel business after their parents were killed in a car accident. Readers learn that the rock star’s father ran from Ireland with his sons after causing that accident, abandoning his sons in the U.S. The boys ended up homeless. This book can be read as a standalone, although I was glad to briefly revisit the characters from the prior book. Jayden (the rock star's brother) is now a very successful and hot, confident Alpha. He manages his brother’s career as well as managing other stars. Chloe is the middle sister. She left Ireland to become the top event planner in Dubai. Chloe loves the excesses of Dubai. She's driven professionally, but commitment-shy about relationships. Chloe has baggage from her parents’ death and from a former boyfriend. Jayden and Chloe are asked to manage the rock star’s final tour together, as their siblings prepare to marry. This book has a lot of very adult sexy heat, some suspense, dual points of view and a satisfying HEA. I have really enjoyed this series and can’t wait to read the third sister’s story next. Strongly recommended book! I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4/5

Our story centres around Chloe Sexton, the successful owner/manager of an events company based in Dubai. The other MC is Jayden Cooper - Chloe’s childhood crush and now one of the most ruthless and successful agents in LA. These guys do NOT get on - she thinks he’s a lothario and he thinks she has a silver spoon stuck somewhere… They’re brought together over planning the farewell tour of Ryan Cooper - brother of the infamous Jayden and Chloe’s brother-in-law to be.

It was great to have a strong, female MC who’s successful and feminine but doesn’t take any rubbish. It was also refreshing that her HEA didn’t eventuates through her giving up everything she’d worked so hard to build - as can sometimes be the case.

The initial objections of both the MCs, over why they couldn’t be a couple, are believable - they both have histories that have prevented them from forming attachments with other people. Both Chloe and Jayden are enjoyable characters - their relationship is fun to read and the spicy parts kept it interesting without being overly gratuitous.

Although this is book 2 in the Sexton Sister series, it works well as a standalone story and, for those fans of enemies to lovers, this should tick all the boxes. I would definitely recommend this and look forward to reading the other stories in this series.

This is the second book of the Sexton Sisters series. After reading and loving the first one, I didn't hesitate to pick this one up, and I was not disappointed! Ms Gallagher has such a captivating writing style that really pulls you into the story. It was set at a nice pace and flowed smoothly. The twists and turns in the plot really kept me engaged and turning the pages anxious to see what happens next. Jayden and Chloe are two players who don't believe in love and don't think it could ever happen to them. Chloe is focused on making a name for herself in celebrity event management. She has the perfect opportunity when she gets to manage the final tour of her sister's rock star fiance, Ryan Cooper. A major opportunity that could really put her on the map, but there's one catch. She has to work closely with his agent and brother, Jayden, who she absolutely cannot stand. But as she spends more time with him and gets to know him more, she realizes her impression of him may have been a bit off.
This was the perfect enemies to lovers romance with enough spice to really heat up your kindle! The chemistry between Chloe and Jayden was undeniable and I absolutely loved the witty and cheeky banter between the two. This book was simply captivating and I could not put it down. Really glad I had the opportunity to read this!

Chloe has the opportunity to organise her best event ever, but that means she has to work closely with Jayden Cooper, and she doesn't stand him.

This is the second book in the Sexton Sisters Series, I think this series has to be read in order.

I loved them both in the first book and It was already visible that their chemistry was going to be great. And It really was.

Both are scarred by their past but managed their grieves in the opposite way as their respective siblings (Sasha and Ryan).

Chloe is thriving in her professional live but personally she's unfulfilled. I loved how she's the owner of her fife and treats men the same way we've seen time and again men in countless books before they settle down.

Jayden is ruthless in the exterior but a softie inside, I liked him a lot.

Both drive the other one crazy, and it was great seing how their relationship developed.

Lula is that secondary character that you spot from the beginning that is placed there just to be able to complicate things between the main characters, that side of the story was the one I enjoyed less.

This is being a really good series. Waiting already for the story of the third sister.

Meet two stubborn people, who think love is nothing for them. They think they can't stand each other, but there's always a thin line between hate and live right?

Chloe has left her home after her 21st birthday and she created a successfull business in Dubai. She put her energy and all time into her carrier and has no interest in relationship. She accepts only one night stands.

Jayden has no interest in relationship, he doesn't believe in love. He was declined by own parents and became one for his younger brother. He made his business from nothing.

Chloe gets a chance to expand her business, only problem? She has to work with Jayden.
And yet there is another problem- Jayden is very hot male 🥵🌶️ and it is very hard to resist him. It is gonna be only one onenight stand as always. Is it?
There are so many hot scenes the chemistry is perfect 🥵🌶️.
Step by step Chloe puts her walls down, but Jayden has his own secrets and someone is trying to hurt him a destroying his buisness. Will this couple find their HEA?

This is the second book in the Sexton sisters series, can be read as a standalone.

Lively, witty, fun… and yes, darn pretty fabulous!

I’m new to Lindsey Gallagher’s books, but I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the Sexton Sisters series. It has a great pace and lots of twists and turns, laughs and lusting moments.

Chloe Sexton and Jayden Cooper are sworn enemies with a secret family history. They can't stand one and other, but they can’t stay away from each other because, they are sister to Sasha and brother to Ryan (from the first book), who are about to be married. And, whenever they are forced near each other, their chemistry is more of the attraction than repulsion kind.

This fun romp is filled with lots of spicy scenes, sisterhood, hero complexes, guilt complexes, rock venues, lust, and love. There’s even a little suspense and a wee surprise to keep you riveted. I also loved that this book takes place all over the world -- from Dubai to Edinburgh and Los Angeles to London. Definitely worth a read!

Fave Quote: "Jayden makes me feel safe. I don’t have to pretend to be something I’m not. He sees me. He gets me. On some level, he is me."

This is the second book in the Sexton Sisters Series and it did not disappoint. In book one we caught a glimpse of Chloe and Jayden and somehow knew that there would be an amazing story there!

Chloe and Jayden have both experienced trauma and loss at a young age. They are completely turned off and scared of relationships. Neither of them can handle anymore loss.

The relationship between these two is hot, hot, hot! Their chemistry is palpable!

As readers, we see this unlikely pair grow into a true couple despite what they are thinking and trying to hide.

I loved seeing the family dynamics play out in this book. It was great to have all of the siblings together.

If you are looking for a book to tug at your heart strings and get you to fall in love with love, this book will not disappoint! Lyndsey Gallagher is one of those authors who delivers every single time! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

In the second book about the Sexton sisters, we follow Chloe, a successful event organiser and Jayden, a sexy and also successful artist manager. Chloe's sister Sasha is getting married to Ryan, Jayden's brother, and the prospect of regular proximity is not appealing, because they can't stand each other (even if they are obviously very attracted). The story is set in very different and amazing places like Dubai, Sydney, Singapore, London and of course the Castle in Ireland, home of the Sextons, which gave a special flavour to the book.

There are a lot of steamy scenes (really, a lot) but, at the same time we can see the fragilities and insecurities of this couple. They both have serious commitment issues and they are career oriented, but when they gave up to fight the feelings, they became adorable. I loved the ending.

There will be another book, about Victoria, Chloe's younger sister and I know it will be funny, sexy and romantic, like this book. Can't wait to grab a copy!

Because you carry a shameful secret from your past should you be denied a worthy place on this earth? Why let the past control the present and plans for your future happiness? Embrace opportunities,we are only here as long as our time isn’t up.

We are back with Ryan and Sasha still madly in love and planning Ryan’s last tour. Chloe and Jayden are still at each other’s throats, but are about to plan the final tour together! Both strong willed and successful, will they be able to make it through the world concerts without killing each other? Or, will they give into the increasing sexual tension between each other? Victoria is all grown up,wiser than her years and heading to college. The family saga continues and it’s a page turner.

Wonderful cast of characters, steamy banter, arrogance, self doubt, control issues, hero syndrome, family, fame, luxury… it’s all here. Great read to get you away from regular life.

In the words of the illustrious David Rose, I am constantly impressed by you.

It's rare that I think the second book is better than the first, but in this case it's true. I've read a lot of these sister/brother/friend group romance series and they're all usually fine but not worth the hype. This book really is much better than those. I hope BookTok gets a hold of it and gives it a chance. They'll be as surprised and delighted as I am.

There are two tropes in here that I'm not a fan of (no spoilers) but I think the author wrote them in a way that wasn't frustrating or too left field. A great accomplishment in and of itself.

I'm also usually not a fan of praise kinks. They often come across (for me) as condescending and heavy handed but Jayden has converted me.

Can't wait for the next book.

A fabulous read!!
I really enjoyed the first Sexton sister’s book My Big Fat Fabulous Christmas, so I was looking forward to Chloe’s story and it did not disappoint.
Enemies to lovers is my favourite romance trope, oh the banter! The way Jayden and Chloe poke at each other is truly amusing and makes you laugh out loud at times. But when these two succumb to their off the charts chemistry and get together, the heat level in this book soars… 🔥
The story is well written, easy to read and hooks you right in from the start and won't let go, I found it hard to put down once I started. There's a surprising amount of depth to the main characters and their stories, and both go through growth arcs overcoming a lot of deeply buried feelings and emotions, to get to where they end up.
There are other things going on around them that add to the interest level of the story and provide some surprising twists, and overall, this was a truly enjoyable read.

After reading the previous book, where these two were secondary characters, I was really hoping they would get a book of their own. The chemistry between them was palpable and that definitely was true of this book as well. The dialogue between them is witty and incredibly sexy. Lyndsey has an engaging writing style that pulls you in and makes you want to finish the book in one setting(who needs sleep?!?). She’s great at building up the dramatics and making you feel like you are right there with the characters. This story had me laughing, tearing up, and wiggling in my seat (if ya know what I mean 😘)

Seriously LOVE the Sexton Sisters! I truly enjoy romance novels but Lyndsey is pure genius with the Sexton Sister. I’m conflicted who I love more Sasha and Ryan or Chloe and Jayden’s story!!!!! This is definitely not your typical romance, and what I thought was tantalizing steaminess in the first book…well let’s just say there are LOTS of breathtaking spiciness you aren’t ready for but OH SO HAPPY you did read this adventure. Fortunately, for those who don’t do series Lyndsey Gallagher is SO AWESOMELY TALENTED that you could read this as a stand-alone. However..You will end up reading book 1 because of how amazingly the storyline is out together. I cannot wait for My Big Fat Fabulous First Love…but secretly I’m hoping Lyndsey has something up her sleeve and Sexton Sisters don’t end just yet!

As likeable as Sasha Sexton was in book one, I found her sister, Chloe, the heroine of this book to be annoying. I warmed up to her as the book went on, and trauma from a young age can absolutely change your personality. So, although she annoyed me, I was still rooting for her. Jayden seemed like the perfect foil to her commitment issues since he was almost as messed up as her. The pregnancy plot twist was foreshadowed several times along the way so an involved reader will see coming from a mile away as I did. However, that's not to say I wasn't excited about this turn for them. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. One of the few things that could have improved this book would be Jayden & Chloe realizing they needed therapy to overcome their past hurdles before becoming a family.

Chemistry, Witty Banter, Steam, Angst, Global Travels, Huge Hearted Hero - All the Feels!

This book was the perfect follow-on to my "Big Fat Fabulous Christmas" - you don't have to read them in order- it does work as a standalone, but if you have KU it is worthwhile and more fun to read them in order. I loved that Chloe and Jayden finally got their story, and you knew that there had to be some heat behind all of their "intsa-hate" - which was bourn out when they had to work together to plan Ryan's Farewell tour. There was even a small mystery to keep the pages turning. I loved everything about this book and couldn't put it down- it was well written, had great dialog, well developed supporting characters and I can't wait for Victoria's story. Enjoy!

I really liked this book. Jayden is a famous agent in L.A. and his brother Ryan is out for his farewell singing tour. Ryan is engaged to Chloe’s sister and Chloe has always had a crush on Jayden, but it has been a love hate relationship. Jayden has had a crush on Chloe also, but both have sworn off love and relationships. Until they spend time together. Chloe is an events manager, and she is planning all eight city tours. I thought it was very creative as she set up events to highlight not only Ryan but the cities themselves. It was fun watching Jayden and Chloe learn to communicate and trust. This is a steamy romance with wonderful characters, but there is a lot of depth to their lives that make it even more special. Great book!

My Big Fat Fabulous Fling was, well, fabulous. I adore this author and her books are the perfect steamy-romantic getaway. This is the second book in The Sexton Sister Series and it does not disappoint. Chloe and Jayden’s story is filled with angst, humor, passion, and sizzling heat. I love their vulnerability and unwavering need to always do what is best for the people they love. Gallagher does an amazing job of creating two characters who not only find themselves leaning on each other, but, surprisingly, actually needing each other. Her storytelling is eloquent. The settings are extravagant. The ending… it will warm your heart and curl your toes!

Nobody writes page-turners like Lyndsey Gallagher, and this one was a scorcher that will wipe those January blues clean away! I was dying for Chloe's book after meeting her in My Big Fat Fabulous Christmas, and it didn't disappoint. Chloe and Jayden are so well matched, and the searing heat in this book was equalled by the amazing character ARCs and the plot twists Lyndsey always does so well.

I loved every second of this glamorous, jet-set, spicy as heck romance, and I was rooting for Chloe the whole way, even as I fan-girled all over her.

Can definitely be read as a standalone. I received a free copy and am leaving an honest review.

Chloe Saxton is a commitment-phobe. She has a one-night-rule and up to now no man has made it past it. Jayden is a womanizer and also the manager of her sister's boyfriend Ryan. Since Chloe is organizing Ryan's farewell-tour she has to work together with Jayden. Those two do not get along… but there is a close gap between love and hate.

I couldn't wait for Chloe's and Jayden's story and I was not disappointed. Those two have chemistry! I really enjoyed the story and cannot wait for last Sexton sister and her story!
