"From the Torrid Past" is the story of D'Arcy and Keele.

Woah! What an angsty, yet sweet and pleasant read!

Four years ago, our h was trapped in an abusive marriage, when she meets an enigmatic stranger, has the first pleasant sexual experience of her life, becomes a widow the same night and runs away to America to lick her wounds..later finding out he left her with the fruit of his lovemaking!
Now a single mother to a vivacious son who is raised by her uncle, aunt and herself, she travels back to Greece to interview a rich owner to a shipping firm, only to come face to face with her nephew- OUR HERO! She expects it to be an one off incident, and rushes back home- but the H chases her, declares he will marry her, adorably woos not just her- but her son, her family and claims her as his- vowing never to let her go. But will the truth of her son's paternity change everything?

Honestly, this surprised me! The hero was just so jealous and nice, I loved it. We know from the moment he saw her, he wanted her. Even with his re-entry, he manipulates everything around her so he can be with her- going as far as to legally adopt her son and give him all the love and care, just because he belonged to the heroine!! She tries to escape, but he does not let her go LOL. Even when he discovers the truth, he is never "mean" as such, just utterly smitten. I love heroes like him! The heroine just made a mess with all her small lies, but she was neither a doormat, nor unlikable. And also has a nice ending and epilogue! Glad the OW/evil aunt were not able to cause a single problem lol!

Almost a 5 star read- just not because it lacked that..oomph!

She stood up for herself but I didn’t like it that he never told off any of the OWs (and there were so soooo many). They will continue to interfere in her life and he basically told her to put up with them Grrrr,

They had a one night stand a few years before when she was married to a mean guy. She got pregnant, but she never told him. Her husband then died in an accident and she left. The book starts when the H and h coincidentally meet again in Greece.

He is mad about her. A rich, dominant, besotted, passionate, determined, jealous hero. 5 stars for him.

I didn’t like that she was married to someone else before and that she slept with him while she was married. The marriage was bad, but still. She didn’t leave her husband because of financial reasons.

And she isn’t a nice person. The way she treats his employees. The way she treats him. Her overall attitude.

And also keeping his son a secret while all the time - from their very first meeting - he has been nice, loving and protective towards her. He has never said or done anything wrong, so why keep his son a secret?

Anyway, I don’t like her, she doesn’t deserve him, so that’s why it’s 4 stars and not 5.

This was a great story. The H was so insane for the h and never mistreated her. I was surprised bc you usually find abusive H's in old HP books. But this H was determined to have her and pursued her endlessly. The only thing I didn't like was the h. She was kind of a b!%.

This gets four stars only because the hero loved her from the beginning and never stopped.
