I like the depth of information offered on history and customs, but the book is a very dry read and in places the information feels a bit vague and incomplete, like mentioning that you can kayak on the Hanalei river but giving no information about where to go to do that or talking about the mini golf at Anaina Hou community park, but making no mention of the other offerings there such as the fire show.
Great info for food stops, local markets, shopping, getting around by land or sea. I wanted info on hotels, but was referred to fodor.com. I tried the address but it did not go directly to hotel information. I will look elsewhere. I only need three more nights somewhere.
