Blinded Love #3

The Boy Who Makes Her Angry

Rate this book
Przyszła pora na historię Stevie!

Stevie Colvin wyznaje proste zasady.

Oh my word... Stevie’s book will have you on a roller coaster of emotions. Her story is entertaining, exciting, full of emotions and such a great read. I loved going deeper into pasts of these characters. My heart broke, the tears feel but they were worth it all. I don’t want to give much more because this story was amazing and I loved it!!

01/08/2023: Reread. (Audiobook!)

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the author. This review MAY contain spoilers.

If you thought that Jaymerson's story wrecked you and knocked you to the ground, then prepare yourself to be obliterated and buried in rubble. Stevie's story will pull your heart from your chest and leave you in an emotional stupor.

I love that this book picks up where the second book of the series left off but from Stevie's POV instead of Jaymerson's. I had honestly expected the story to backtrack to parts of the series we had already experienced through Jaymerson's eyes. We do get to see some past events through Stevie's flashbacks, which I preferred. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't thrilled to get more of Jaymerson and Hunter and their friends. I would totally support more stories about this group of friends. I would love books dedicated to Jones/Megan, Doug, and Krista/Jason. These characters really grow in your heart and will leave you wanting more of them.

Stevie's character growth in this book was amazing. Her journey is powerful, heart-rending, and by the end of the story very uplifting. She has experienced horrors and heartache in her past and her personality was shaped by these events. She is running from her demons and it is starting to affect her life like she never thought it could. It forces her to accept her feelings and stop running from things she has no control over. Realizing and accepting that she is in love with Chris and that he feels the same for her is a jumping-off point for her to start healing from her past and open back up. Chris's journey was also heartbreaking. He also experienced horrors and pain in his past and when this book starts out he is dealing with some of that all on his own. A chance meeting with Stevie brings them back together and they both start coming to terms with some of the heavy stuff.

I loved the friendships that are shown in the book. The meaning of true friendship is shown through many of the characters. We also get to meet Stevie's New York friends and see how she comes to realize their importance to her and she uncovers the layers of her past and opens up. Friendship is a common theme through this book and I loved exploring it through each of the characters.

I loved the romance in this book. First of all, seeing Hunter and Jayme in a happy place was incredible. I would give almost anything to read a story about them five years down the road. Seeing them and their friend group starting families and their lives falling into place would be the best. I loved the chemistry between Stevie and Chris. It is said in the book that they have both met their match in the other, and it's so true! They are so alike and they deal with their issues in much the same manner as the other. They are perfect for each other and it definitely shows in the writing. I was thrilled with their ending in this book. My heart soared.

The plot in this part of the series is less intense than the previous books but no less impactful. Things mostly take place in a short span of a few weeks, but this is plenty of time to tell Stevie and Chris's story. Things fall into place really well and the story never feels rushed or lacking. I love that the author can express so much and show so much in such a short amount of time for the characters.

Overall, I couldn't be more impressed with Stevie's story! I had such high expectations and I was not disappointed at all. I am wishing on every star that Stacey Marie Brown chooses to write more books in this series. I am besotted with these characters and I can't get enough of them! I would cherish more books from other character POVs and even books set in the future with these characters. If you are searching for a meaningful, well written, expertly plotted, and altogether incredible series then you should pick this one up! I can't give this series enough praise!

***5 ‘Tarzan & Gypsy’ Stars***

I knew going in that this was going to be all kinds of intense and angsty because this is Stevie we are talking about and that girl doesn’t know how not to go big in one way or another...but man the emotional roller coaster this one took me on?? It...I got all teary eyed and sniffly...that doesn’t happen often, it doesn’t. But this book pulled all those pesky feels right out of me and must admit (grudgingly, though honestly) that I loved every second of it!

Stevie is a force of nature and I adored her. She may have a ton of demons riding her and does everything in her power to keep her heart on lock down, which at times causes her to lash out, but she cares deeply about those she calls her own and shows it through her actions. I loved Chris, I wanted to reach out and Gibbs smack him a few times, especially in the beginning, but I ended up loving and adoring the man he truly was. Snarky, loving (even when he’s being an asshat - though I totally got why) and simply a good man with a good heart.

To say Chris and Stevie’s journey was explosive is an understatement. Any time these two were in the same vicinity things got intense and it just showed how well matched they were for each other. While their interactions did sway to the more antagonistic end of the spectrum on the regular, it only served to make the sweet moments that much more meaningful. They saw the good, the bad and the ugly in each other and connected on a level neither could have ever imagined.

I was so happy when it was announced that Stevie was going to get her HEA, because if anyone deserved one it was her, and I wasn’t disappointed in anyway with how her, and Chris’s, journey unfolded. It was filled with frustrating moments and heart breaking ones, but watching as these two worked to battle their demons and come out stronger for it was sooo worth it in the end. Now, there are issues that will be triggers for some, but they are handled very well and only add depth to their story. And as for the supporting cast of characters, I loved catching up with Hunter and Jaymerson and seeing where they were at in their relationship and Grandma Penny was, as always awesome! (I still want to be her when I grow up). I loved Doug, Tristan, Andy and Maxine, but I’m curious with all that is going on with Jones and am hoping that he’ll get some HEA love at some point down the road.

Note: While Twisted Love can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend that you read the first two books in the series, Shattered Love & Broken Love, to truly understand all the connections and emotions between the characters you’ll meet.

This book was amazing as were the other two books in the series. My heart is full of twisted love for this book. The writing is fantastic, the character development is spot on, and the relationship emotions pulls at the heart strings. There is so much depth to Stevie than we realized. I'm so happy we got Stevie's book. I don't think I've cried so much over so many chapters.

Twisted Love is full of angst and heart wrenching scenes but filled with hope at the same time. It's dark but uplifting. I was so frustrated with Stevie's need to run but rooted badly for her to prevail.

This was a fabulous read - although - I will say, you probably need to read the first two to FULLY appreciate Stevie's story. Believe me though, it isn't a hardship because all three books are fabulously written and the stories are amazing! SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS BOOK AND SERIES!

Ok so I just finished Twisted Love by Stacey Marie Brown and I am completely wrecked. I sat in the corner of the couch with my face peering over the top of my kindle pretending the reason my eyes were wet was due to the dog fur allergies. Yeah... #imnotcryingyourecrying! Stevie has more layers than a seven layer dip at a superbowl party! Who knew how much of a badass she truly is! This book is deeeeep!!! I'm talking intense! I started the book thinking I was going to read a few chapters and the next thing I knew it was 7am the next day and the book was done! It was amazing! I am seriously vibing on Megan and Jones though, guys. Something there? Maybe. Hope so. I really need more from this. Time will tell...Give us desperate beggars a hint!! lol Anyway, definitely worth picking up. 5 stars and 2 enthusiastic thumbs up!!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC for this book and picked it up last night to read. I could not put it down. This is the third book in the broken/shattered love series and features one of my favourite characters from it, Stevie.

So we know Stevie as a badass, smart talking, free loving chick who never goes to the same person more than once and is a solid rock for Jamie in her and Hunters story. I was always left wanting to know a bit more about her, why was she the way she was, why did she stay with Tarzan and why did they fall out?

Twisted love tells us and it's an emotional rollercoaster, get the tissues ready because you'll need them not going to lie I bawled like a baby at one point.

I kind of wish there was more interaction between her and Jamie, their interactions seemed a bit rushed and lacklustre compared to the other books but that said her interactions with Tarzan more than made up for it!

Oh my!! I wish I could rate this more then 5 stars! Stacey has seriously knocked it out of the park with this one! I thought the last two books would be hard to beat but she surpassed my expectations with this one!

I have loved all Stacey's books and I'm a huge fan of her PNR series but this one is my favourite of her contemporaries! she seriously brought ALL THE FEELS!!!

Stevie's story was everything! SMB gave me all the feels, it was such a roller coaster of emotions. She had me laughing with the banter and wit but literally sobbing my heart out in other parts. Even when I was cursing SMB for making me cry, every tear was worth it as she put my heart back together at the end.

I so want to rave about this one but if I do it will give the storyline away and this is a story you need to experience yourself. You need to feel every word as it seeps off the pages and into your veins.

Even though this can be read as a standalone as its Stevie's story I would recommend you read the other 2 books first as you will honestly want to know the other characters past stories to fully appreciate and feel it all.

Now I’ve been twisted with so many emotions and I’m completely in love with this series! Twisted Love will make you feel like you’re actually watching Stevie and Chris’s life unfold right before your very eyes. Stevie and Chris are two people scared of love and facing the real challenges of life. Both have been through hell and back in their past and present. When you think nothing else will surprise you it completely throws you off balance. This series will keep you thirsting for more with every turn of the page! These are no normal everyday love stories like you’ve read before. They are so powerful and touching yet sexy and hot at the same time! If you haven’t read Shattered Love (#1) and Broken Love (#2) in the series you are completely missing out!

As always, Stacey Marie Brown brings on the feels. Stevie, what a character and what a story!

Seeing Stevie's PoV, how her panic increased in certain situations and how her mind works was truly a beautiful insight into a mind that has already been hurt enough for a lifetime. Her walls are there for a reason and while you still understand it, you sometimes still want to beat her over the head.

It was raw, hard to read at times but still a breath of fresh air. Her conversation with Grandma Penny was one moment that resonated with me in so many ways. The connection was instant with this book.

This is a truly magnificent character and so are her relationships. Jayme's soul sister, her mother's daughter, her friend's defender and bodyguard when needed, but still the vulnerable girl that can be stronger than all. Stevie's story definitely needed to be told and it was done so magnificently. I'm glad we got to read it.

If I could rate this book 100 stars I would. It’s amazing.
We got a glimpse of Jayme's friend Stevie in the two other books in the Shattered Love Series. They became fast friends at Physiotherapy after they both had accidents. We never knew what happened to Stevie when she had her accident and how it landed her in Physiotherapy. All we know is that her and Jayme became inseparable.

We see Stevie also with Chris a member and friend of the motocross family that he and Hunter were a part of.

This book is 1000% emotional. It will get you pissed at Stevie for her stubbornness. Her huge heart. Her passion. She transforms into herself finally and what becomes of her is a sight to see!

I loved this book from front to back. I know that going into a SMB book that it’ll take me into many emotions and this one didn’t disappoint one bit.

This one is also a masterpiece!

Stevie Colvin has been one my favorite characters in the trilogy and I had high expectations which were more than exceeded!!! The growth of her character was great to see and the fact that Ms. Brown ripped out my heart, stomped on it and set it on fire more than once was amazing. This book is a roller coaster ride; I laughed, cried and at times wanted to knock a couple of characters heads together.

I highly recommend this book but you do need to read Shattered Love and Broken Love before picking up this one!

Let me start off by saying that I was literally jumping when I found out that Stevie was going to get her own book and we were going to find out what her story was because she intrigued me so much in Broken Love. I knew, just knew that I needed to read her story because her sketchiness and her shadiness at times in Broken Love had picked my interest to know what was going on with her.

This book was full of highs and lows that had me either smiling or scowling. I couldn't seem to have one or the other long enough to realize that I was flipping back and forth with my faces.

I loved Stevie so much. I loved her strength, her determination and her ability to push herself. Yeah we got a lot of moments where I just wanted to flip my finger at my kindle but that wasn't going to get me anywhere, but we also got moments where I was fist pumping the air.

I'm not saying much more other than you have to read this book. You will fall in love with Stevie from the moment you start on page 1 all the way to the end. I absolutely love this series and I honestly thought my favorite was going to be Jaymerson, but I think I've switched it up and now have to bump Stevie up above Jaymerson. This girl, man she really stole my heart with everything and anything that was thrown at me in this book.

Gotta read the whole series to understand the supporting characters in the book and to get a better feel of Stevie as well.

4.5 stars This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster ride! I loved Stevie’s and Chris’ story and this is a book that I would definitely read again. Stevie has always been an interesting character to me and I am happy that the author dedicated an entire book to her. She is a likable, complex character and I adored Chris. There were times that I felt that my heart was being ripped out of my chest as they had experienced so many devastating things in their lives . These things affected how they both approached relationships - both with friends and with romance. I found myself laughing at some of their banter one minute to ugly crying the next.

Their relationship is complex and the chemistry between them is palpable. I enjoyed watching how Stevie and Chris both evolved as a couple and as characters. There were parts of the book where I wanted to talk some sense into Stevie as she made some bad decisions and I felt she was behaving selfishly. Yet those decisions fit with her character so I can’t really complain too much. I also liked the appearances from, Hunter, Jayme, Jones, and Doug. Twisted Love put me through all the feels - laughter and tears, heartbreak and love, and hope. This book moved at a good pace, has well-developed likable characters, and has a HEA with no cliffhanger. I would love for the author to write a story about Megan and Jones next. I received this book for free and I voluntarily leave this review.

“Not only did you find your equal... but he found his”

Stacey Marie Brown is a master. Her writing is phenomenal as her words comes to life. This book was fantastic

Twisted Love is the third book in the Blinded Love series. It’s not meant to be read as a stand-alone, so If you haven’t read the first two, definitely read those first.

This book is about Stevie and Chris’s story who we meet in the previous books. With heartbreaking pasts and secrets that neither are willing to share has caused them to keep their relationship at arms length. That is, until they were faced with unforeseen circumstances.

I knew this was going to be a tough one, but wow, I have to say I wasn’t expecting this. It shattered me... but then slowly pieced it back together in the most perfect way
It was raw, heartbreaking, emotional but also filled with friendship, understanding, and love.

I absolutely loved it.
I hope she continues writing more. I feel there are so many more stories to be told. I am totally hooked on this series and have fallen in love with these characters. I guess I’m just not ready to say goodbye

I was blessed with an ARC and this is my honest review

Stevie’s book was just as breathtaking and sob inducing as the first two books.
This story was heartbreaking but you can’t help but root for Stevie and Chris, and that they have their happiness in the end.
The journey this book takes you on is twisted as the title says. The emotional baggage they both hold onto is traumatic and you really feel all the angst and emotions as they try hard not to admit their true feelings for each other.
As with the other two books you don’t see the twists coming and it’s not predictable in any way.
We get see the whole gang again and a couple of new characters are introduced that are fun and really add to overall story.
If you haven’t read the first two books I would recommend you do before reading this. The whole series is truly amazing.
You won’t be disappointed.

Twisted Love is the third book in the series, after reading Shattered Love and Broken Love about Jayme and Hunter and loving their story, I didn’t think Twisted Love could compare. I was so wrong, Stevie and Chris' story was every bit as rewarding to read as Jayme and Hunter's. Stevie and Chris are both broken people from events in their past, both hide behind their scars by pretending nothing effects them. They both have secrets which they don’t share with anyone until events occur that make it impossible to keep their secrets any longer. This was such a good book, I went through many emotions while reading it. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a good love story but keep the kleenex handy.

3.5 stelle

It has been a few days and I’m still in awe of this book and how much it made me sob like a new born baby now that its been a few days since I finished this I hope that I will be able to do a better review then the one that I did initially right after finishing this. So here we go. If I could give this book more then 5 stars, then I would.

Stevie aka Gypsy and Chris aka Tarzan aka Ape-Boy have this unbreakable bond between them. They have also had there share of heartbreak both for completely different reasons. They both try and not admit to there true feelings but really it was only a matter of time before they did and oh my. There story is one of the most emotional stories that I have read. It made me cry so much and I loved every damn second of it.

Stevie is someone that I would love to be friends with. Chris omg Chris I just wanted to dive into this book and give him a hug.

I loved that we were able to see the people from the previous books and how in the beginning of the books we were able to see just how badass Stevie was and that doesn’t stop in this one. She is still as kick ass as she always was.

One of the things that I loved about Stevie was that the people that she had slept with she would remember them by referring them to Disney character’s, I love this because it’s a genius idea but also because I’m a huge Disney fan.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I think that it would be best to read the previous books so that you can get the feel for all the character’s in the story

One of my favourite quotes from this book was “Not only did you find your equal… but he found his” – Grandma Penny

Before reading this book I had not read the previous two books, boy was I in for a heart stopping trip.  Stacey Marie Brown is an amazing writer and now that I'm done with this one I'll be going back to start the first two in this series.  There is angst and scenes that will stop you in your tracks.  Trying not to let too many spoilers out, here is what I enjoyed.

While I enjoyed this one very much there were parts that I did not understand what was going on, most likely because I was missing the information from the first two books.

I love Stevie and how her journey has caused her growth is amazing.  I love how Brown gives Stevie and Chris their own story and the HEA that came with it, long and twisted as it was.

I also loved getting introduced to Hunter and Jaymerson (even though logically I should have read them first).  But at lease when I read them I'll know who they are.

The ways that the different friendships and relationships started and following the growth and how they shined through was amazing.

When talking about the plot, I was on a roller coaster of emotions when following, and while I can't compare to the previous books this one follows the characters over a few weeks of time.  But do not let the fact that everything happens so fast deter you or make you think that it will feel rushed, because it doesn't.

Overall, I was so impressed by Brown's book that I will be going and reading the first two in her series as well as looking into her other books.

Note: Twisted Love can be read as a stand-alone novel, for some of the characters and situations to make sense I would recommending reading Shattered Love and Broken Love first.

I read and loved the start of the Blinded Love Series and have been anxiously awaiting Stevie's story since. Her book did not disappoint. It was an engaging and entertaining read!

Stevie and Chris- aka Tarzan- were multi-layered characters. There was much to be discovered about them, about what drove them, and their layers were slowly peeled back and their truths exposed. What we were given was two very real characters, flaws, hidden insecurities, and all. They had been through a lot and kept everything inside.
Stevie and Chris were continuously raising their walls and pushing each other away, but you could feel how connected they were beneath it all. I loved that even when they were trying to fight their feelings, trying to pretend it was all physical attraction and sexual gratification, it was obvious how much they wanted and needed the other emotionally. I loved seeing the change in them, and the growth of their romantic relationship.

Twisted Love was a rollercoaster ride filled with emotion and angst, and I never stopped rooting for the main characters! The book can be read as a standalone, but the secondary characters are prominent parts of the story, and they all appeared in the first duet. I believe you can read and enjoy this on its own, but would benefit more by reading the series in written order.

Oh my holy hell!!!!!!!!

Stacey has once again demonstrated her ability to produce magnificent, all-consuming stories that will capture your heart and mind.
Twisted Love was just that!

I fell in love with these characters when we first started this series, and finally it is Stevie’s time to shine...to show the world the person behind the mask. And what a person she is.
Strong, kick ass female who has an affinity for Disney character names and one night stands. But she’s more than that. We get to see past her facade. To the person hiding behind the jokes. We see the pain she carries, her vulnerability and the reasonings for it. The person who loves with her whole heart, cares deep, and will literally kick your ass if you hurt the ones she loves. You will hurt for her. You will want to wrap her in your arms and give her a huge hug, and ultimately, you will love her even more.

We finally get an understanding of what really happened between her and Chris, and her real feelings towards him.

You want to see them together. To see them work things out. But with a love like there’s, it won’t be easy.

Misunderstandings, secrets and stubbornness on both parts; who knows what will happen...

I love this series!!!!!

And although this is Stevie’s book and people could say you’d be able to read it as a stand-alone, I wouldn’t recommend it.
To fully understand the dynamics of the relationships I would definitely start with Shattered Love.

Get the wine, the chocolate and the tissues and be ready to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster that you will not want to get off of.
