Shinobu Ohtaka (大高 忍, born May 9, 1983 Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the creation of the manga series Sumomomo Momomo and more recently, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
This Manga starts our humorous. I really enjoyed the characters at the beginning. The farther you read the deeper the plots become. Enjoyable at the beginning, and a must read for the later books. I can NOT wait for books 27 + Characters are real and raw. Everyone has there faults and I feel the author/artist dose a wonderful job of bringing everyones points of view, twisted though they might be, in to clear focus.
(note: I wouldn't recommend this manga for young teens. I fine the sexual innuendos pretty funny as an adult, but not really appropriate for younger audiences. Also the plot gets pretty dark at times. )
The magic barrier is holding the Empire of Leam from attacking until Lady Scheherazade uses a secret weapon (bombs that imitate magic). Aladdin removes his seals and when the Empire of Leam begins to retreat the Kou Empire begins their move.
This was a good volume that brought the different nations together even if it is for war.
I received this advanced copy from VIZ Media through Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review.
This is exactly what I don't like about this series.
World: The art is odd. A battle arc with all these characters and you see how weird the proportions for the humans are, especially Barbados. The wield building is also a mess. Sure we have all the pieces come crashing together but here lies the biggest issue I have with this series, all logic and rules of world building get thrown out the window once the fighting starts. The level of vessels can beat a Magi and other crazy stupid things as long as the story needs it. All the world rules go out the window.
Story: A battle arc which throws all the rules out for the sake of battle and escalating powers and battle and escalating powers, rince and repeat. I don't like the series when it's like this. How did Barbados break the three shields, cause the story needed it so. So how did Alibaba stopped him, cause the story needed it...argh.
Characters: The character are okay. But once all the fighting starts all development and rules go out the window. It contradicts itself constantly. I am so frustrated that I won't even get into it.
Little aladdin is such a fantastic character! But not just him finally seeing Alibaba again just shows what a series this is, he and aladdins relationship is so wholesome and fun, we all need friends like them.
As for the story it's takes so many twists and turns, finally revealing some of the main story and history which is going to be really interesting to see what happens next, plus that last panel, can't wait!
Me muero, me muero, me muerooo.

This is really a great series, even though I put it off for 2 months, I still enjoy it and couldn't stop at all! Haha, I guess this is the series's charisma. The war between mages and warriors is crazy and super intense!
