This gripping psychological thriller delves deep into the dark corners of the human psyche, exploring the boundaries of reality. With heart-pounding suspense and spine-chilling twists, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. This is a must-read for anyone who loves a good psychological thriller.
This is a great book for you if you’re like me, and you get a too freaked out by movies or books that are too realistic or “could happen to you.” I definitely did not guess the ending while I was reading, and it wasn’t something that left me with a creeped out feeling, but moreso the idea of “oh wow I didn’t see that coming.” There’s parts of the main character’s daily life that I skimmed through, so as far as thrillers go, I’d say it’s a lighter/quicker read. This is a great choice to bring to the beach or if you’re wanting a good thriller that won’t take forever to finish!
Unstable is a heart-pounding and riveting psychological thriller infused with unpredictable twists and turns. With the grasp of reality on the frail threads of realization, this book will grip you and won't let you go.
The story follows Autumn Fowler who is living a happy, satisfied life with her loving husband and twin daughters. Although her art career hasn't been that height of impressiveness during the recent times, still she was happy with her daily living.
Until the sleep paralysis episodes make a return in her life. Plagued by these suffocating and shackled moments, she finds something even more troubling than what was on the surface level. Autumn is gripped with uncertainties and doubts, these nightmares will soon turn more deadly than ever, threatening the very people she holds close to her heart.
An unputdownable thriller with elements of anticipation, unforeseen twists, questionable events with a whole lot of intrigues and thought - provoking moments that perfectly tap into a terrain of genuine and gripping narrative.
The author truly fleshes out the sleep paralysis episodes, the way how realistically she portrayed these is commendable. You can actually feel the pain, stifling feelings of fear and nervousness permeating through its pages. Absolutely astounding! The characters are well-written and the plot definitely has surprises and intricate twists that kept me glued from chapter one. Good psychological thrillers are the ones that emotionally invest the readers to see the vulnerabilities and complexities along with trickery and assumptions that create a web of unexpected situations and crossroads, where characters are often riddled with ulterior motives and intruding thoughts of right and wrong blurs out..... Well, "Unstable" definitely checks out all the boxes for an extraordinary suspense driven plot.
Readers who love to delve into masterpiece psychological thrillers should definitely read this. It will catch off guard with its incredibly fast-paced and engaging storyline.
O. M. G. I devoured this book. It’s like i couldn’t read fast enough, my heart was pounding the whole time! So many twists and turns. L.A. Brink is a genius with the suspense. Prepare to not sleep until you finish this book!! It will have the readers thinking they’re “unstable”. 😉 ❤️
Not impressed at all. I could not finish. Too much play by play with little action. I didn’t like every detail played out. For example instead of saying we took the girls to the swimming pool, it was a play by play of what happened, who said what, the girls had fun, the husband had fun, the main character had fun at the pool, they put sunscreen on the girls, they needed their floaties on, etc. and none of it was significant to the story. It was just filled in space. Every chapter was like this. The book couldn’t hold my attention.
This is one of the best psychological thrillers I have read. Not one time throughout the book did I get disinterested. I loved all the twists and it kept me wanting to continue reading to find out what was going to happen; even when I should have been sleeping.
Not my typical genre. Once I started, I couldn't put it down! The ending was insanse, and I couldn't believe the twists as they came. Definitely a quick read, and if it's not your typical genre, it would be a good one to get you started.
Got this book from Peoria book fest. Got a signed copy but sadly the author wasn’t there to formally meet her. Still got a pre signed book tho. Boy am I glad I did. Because WOW! What a great read. I’m obsessed with books and this kind gives me Frida McFadden vibes. LOVE LIVE LOVE IT!
This was kinda similar to The Breakdown by BA Paris but a much better twist. The unreliable narrator was done well. Definitely recommend as a quick, capturing thriller.
So many issues. Nothing made sense. Twist made no sense. The constant minute details of the day made no sense. Let's look at one. They pick up their twin daughters at 11 am, 40 minutes from their home. They head to the pool. Using context, they stay at least 2 hours. Then eat lunch at home. Then hours and hours later, they eat dinner. How many hours in the damn day do they have? The inconsistencies of the story kept distracting me. I'm sorry I read this. I only finished because my boyfriend and I had a bet on the ending. Everyone lost this one. Never again.
At first I had trouble reading. The writing level seemed very basic but then it got a little better. And soon I was pulled in and not able to put the book down. Crazy story. I figured a few things out but a lot of it was a complete surprised. Quick read. Not bad for the authors first book Honestly would give 3.5 stars not quite 4
By the end of this book, I don’t know who was more unstable: the protagonist, the author, or me!!! A page-turner to the very end. The. Very. End. I read it in one day…staying up after midnight to finish “just one more chapter”.
