Of course it's a five star book. Ransomed Daughter by Eric P. Bishop is the start of a new series by this author. We get to meet Troy Evans and his Omega group and a case of a kidnapped young woman. Will they rescue her in time or will her father recieve her back in bits? Well get the book and find out, I was fortunate to get it and wow, it is a great high speed chase through France and Syria. For those that have read Erics first book The Body Man will recognize his well written style and some new great characters that will hopefully be with us for some time. He has already announced a full length book for 2024 as well as a second Body Man story. I have been fortunate thanks to social media to discover several debut authors these last few years and it bodes well for all of us who loves to read great books with thrilling content. Mark my words mr. Bishop will be around for some time so just jump aboard and enjoy the ride.

Wow, what a fun, paced read! Don’t skip out on this one. Compelling story, intriguing cast of characters that will take you for a ride as they take you on their mission to find Abby.

The introduction of Troy Evans and the Omega Team have been called upon to save the daughter of an oil billionaire in this globe trotting adventure full of suspense, intrigue, and even a few laughs along the way. In about 150 pages, the Eric is able to tell a great story, nails the pacing and begins developing the Omega team into distinguishable characters readers can visualize.

This is the first of what I hope will be many in a series featuring the Omega Team.

From the Author of The Body Man, we now have a great thriller novella about
Good triumphing over evil, in compact form. Not familiar with the novella
I was surprised to finish this book in record time, but not using breakneck speed.
We have a special ops team entrusted to find the kidnapped daughter of a very wealthy family. The daughter has no desire to be returned… The Omega group
will do what they do best and we go along for the ride.
I recommend this to folks who enjoy Gregg Hurwitz, Marc Cameron & Brad Taylor.
My thanks to the Author, Eric P. bishop for a first available uncorrected copy of
title for every comment I had to offer and for my unbiased review.
This is the first book in the highly anticipated series: TROY EVANS Novella

I like the main character of this novella and think a series based off him would be interesting. I'd be willing to read a book based on the Omega Group and Troy. Unlike many protagonists in this genre, I found it interesting that Troy is not portrayed as being well trained in spycraft. Hopefully, if there is a series, we'll see his spy trade craft become better honed.

I thought the plot was 4 stars and the writing style was 3 stars, so 3.5 stars overall. I rounded up to 4 stars because for a novella, I think the author did a good job developing the characters in a short amount of time. The chapter before the epilogue was too ambiguous for me, but hopefully if a book is published Mr. Blue and Mr. Grey will be explained.

Eric Bishop's RANSOMED DAUGHTER is the first of his new Omega Group series. What an outstanding start. Troy Evans and his team are very engaging. Yes they are above average heroes, but they have flaws and emotions that lift the storyline well above the average Triller novel.

Speaking of novels, RANSOMED DAUGHTER is a novella that is joining F.X. Regan, David Darling and others to put new life and interest in novellas. In the growing world of short attention spans, this new trend of novellas will put a serious shot in the arm to get more people to take the time to read.

Finally, this is Bishop at his best. You thought THE BODY MAN was good? Don't wait, buy RANSOMED DAUGHTER now! You won't regret it!

I came across this book recently through an ad in my Facebook feed (likely due to the number of military thrillers I have read and reviewed in the last two and a half years...especially since joining the Military Thrillers Book group).

The synopsis of this short novella, Ransomed Daughter, published on 26 September 2023, is that a young woman has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. Warned not to involve law enforcement, the woman’s wealthy father is desperate to find a way to get his daughter back, not trusting that paying the ransom will be enough. He calls up an old buddy nicknamed The Colonel and asks for help from his Omega Group, an elite black-ops unit will the skills and means to track down and rescue his little girl.

The team, led by Troy Evans, gets to work and uses intellect, intimidation, and technology to get the job done. But rescuing the woman from her captors may turn out to be the simplest part of this complex mission.

Ransomed Daughter introduces readers to Troy Evans, an intriguing character with a lot of potential. He’s highly skilled from his armed forces training and exhibits the hallmarks of a good leader. However, he’s no military lemming who blindly follows orders. Yes, he accepts direction from his superior officer and focuses his team on completing the mission, but he also demonstrates the ability to think for himself, evaluate situations in the moment, and make informed decisions on the proper course of action. Which makes him a highly capable and likable protagonist that readers will want to see more of in the future.

A non-stop dramatic and electrifying thriller novella, Ransomed Daughter is sure to entertain, enthrall, and enrage. Eric Bishop has packed a metric ton of intensity and emotion into this tiny but mighty package (a mere 195 pages).

Containing fast-paced, solid storytelling and a thrill-ride plot, Ransomed Daughter is an engaging and stirring thriller that signals the beginning of a new and exciting series. I would give this novella a strong four stars on a five-star scale as I believe it is a pretty decent introduction to a new team of black-op action stars and would be a welcome read by aficionados of this genre of literature. I am looking forward to the next book in this series (Babylon Will Rise, coming in early December)

As with most of my literary ramblings, these are a few of my five cents worth.

Ransomed Daughter is a novella that introduces the Troy Evans Thriller series by Eric Bishop, a USA Today bestselling author of spy thrillers. The book follows Troy Evans, a former CIA agent turned freelance assassin, who works for a covert group called the Omega Group. His latest assignment is to rescue the daughter of a wealthy businessman, who has been kidnapped by a ruthless gang of criminals. However, he soon discovers that the case is more complicated than it seems, and that he has to face his past and his feelings for his ex-lover, Zoya, who is also a spy.

Eric Bishop is a skilled and experienced writer, who creates realistic and gripping scenes of espionage, combat, and survival. His characters are complex and compelling, especially Troy Evans, who is a flawed but fascinating anti-hero, who struggles with his past and his loyalty. The plot is fast-paced and unpredictable, with surprises and shocks that keep the reader engaged until the end.

Ransomed Daughter is a highly recommended read for fans of spy thrillers, political intrigue, and military thrillers. It is a standalone novel, but it is better to read the previous books in the series to fully appreciate the character development and the backstory. It is a relevant and captivating book that raises important questions about the role of technology, power, and family in our world.

I've been an avid follower of Eric's work ever since The Body Man, but I must say, Ransomed Daughter catapults him to new heights of literary prowess! This novella is a whirlwind of excitement, delivering a relentless, breakneck pace that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the very first page. Eric's writing is not just well-crafted; it's a symphony of words that dances across the page, leaving you breathless in its wake.

Ransomed Daughter is a masterpiece, a tantalizing glimpse into the world of Troy Evans and the enigmatic Omega Group. Eric has set the bar impossibly high with this one, and I can hardly contain my excitement for what's to come.

Author Eric Bishop delivers on his Omega Group Novella. The Ransomed Daughter reads like a movie in length and style. The 140 page novella moves quickly and satisfies the reader with an interesting ending leaving you wanting more! More, please, Mr. Bishop! The Ransomed Daughter reminds me of a mixture of Taken and the modern Mission Impossible movies. I want to know more about The Omega Group and main character Troy Eavns. I’m definitely looking forward to future installments. Also recommended: Eric Bishop’s The Body Man, which is a 5-Star political thriller.

A great start to what is hopefully a long and brilliant series by Eric Bishop.

Troy Evans and The Omega Team are called upon to rescue the kidnap daughter of an oil tycoon, but all is not as it seems. Will the team unravel the mystery and rescue the girl, or will they be too late?

At about 150 pages this novella introduces us to a great cast of characters and provides non-stop action. I'm already looking forward to the next book.

I was first introduced to Eric Bishop through his book, THE BODY MAN. I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to reading RANSOMED DAUGHTER. This Novella, while a quick read, contained a fantastic thriller with solid characters and a great plot. New characters (the Omega Group) that I’m sure we will see them again. And I look forward to reading Bishop’s next installment of THE BODY MAN in 2024

This may only be a novella at just over 100 pages, but boy does it pack a lot in, punchy with a grip like vice that holds your attention

Eric P Bishop is the author of the acclaimed The Body Man a debut thriller of the highest order (recommend you read), so I had high expectations for this book, i was not disappointed.

The opening pages take you straight to the heart of the action, you get a sense of who Troy Evans his and the type of man he is along with the rest of the Omega group, an elite force.

The author has a way of creating gripping scenes which have an overriding sense of realism, this is a fast moving and fast paced read which gets straight to the heart of the action, delivering a gripping and wholly engaging read.

I often feel that when you read a book which involves an elite team that it is vital that they follow their mission through without question, there is no room for questions, a team built on friendship, loyalty and an overriding sense of trust

The book manages to create a plenty of tension and surprising twists, which turn the story on its head, a read steeped with intrigue, in someways it also a read which poses many questions and discerning the truth is not always easy

One thing I found as I read the book was the mental picture forming in my mind of each character and scene, and that is down to the quality of the writing with its vivid and descriptive narrative

Troy Evans is an interesting character, not without his flaws, you feel he has a backstory waiting to get out

As a novella the way the story is broken down into distinct parts gave it more of a succinct feel to each stage, allowing the narrative to move along

I would like to think this maybe the start of the series, it certainly has a lot of potential. A compact thriller that had me fully absorbed

One to recommend and an author to watch out for, Eric P Bishop knows how to write thrillers that keep the reader on their toes and entertained, an automatic buy for me
