Beautiful art and PWP, as usual. I learn to not expect much from this mangaka after her other works. Believe it or not, its porn was not even turned me on, how sad is that for a porn? Beautiful indeed, arousing? nope. I've read another porns, a oneshot, ugly art, but more arousing than this one, in oneshot guys, not 6 chapters like this one. Guess the major turn off is the first two chapters of it. Where our main MC the chiropractor slept with all his patients, without condom too, tsk tsk tsk, his patients (men or women) will get STDs, but nope, forget it, the logic in this yaoi is STD doesn't exist. So, he slept around for fun, and then in chapter 3, his long lost lover finally appeared, I pitied him because his lover the sex worker disguised as chiropractor just threw him aside like that years ago and went into hiding for years, and now, he might get STD from his lover after they reunited, well, okay okay there's no STD in this book, but don't forget this too : it's not like the sex worker will stop having sex with the patients, right? The patients won't like it, why, it's the sex massages that lure them back. I believe if the chiropractor in this yaoi is not a good looking young man, a very ugly and fatty hairy man with potbelly instead, this book will disgust people or creeps them out, it's such a case that happens all the time in hentai or doujinshi where the rapists are ugly and fatty old man. Really human are all superficial, but only a few will admit this trait of them, lol. And me? I'm superficial, I love and appreciate beautiful things (art, fashion, scenery, etc) and beautiful humans, but I love more what's inside, the beautiful minds. The same case with this book, I love its beautiful art, but I don't love what's inside this book, and the beautiful art didn't help, so... 0.5 star for the art, btw.
Minori is a special kind of chiropractor for not so ordinary customers. He serves crime syndicate leaders to celebrities and his fingers are considered magic. Minori's got someone from his past he's running from, but then that person finds him and Minori is forced to face his past.
*Reread 8/1/2022 Boosting my rating up to a 3.5 I wish Sublime would publish this one too. Even if it is just the first chapter I like having the context of this for Fourth Generation Head: Tatsuyuki Oyamato.
I think it's hilarious that I called Minori a sweet precious bean considering what he did, but really he did all that so Souta would hate him since Minori didn't think he deserved to be forgiven. And Souta knew that so he wasn't mad about it. Their relationship was pretty cute all things considered and Scarberi draws great smut so that's always a plus.
*Original Review 10/12/2021* Not my favorite of Scarlet Beriko's works, but still that art really gets me. It's just so so good. I think this was pretty cute. I liked seeing why Minori ditched Tatsuyuki, it'll give me a new perspective when I reread fourth generation head because in my head Minori was just a jerk, but he's actually a sweet bean. Not the most memorable or best couple of Beriko's but I enjoyed it.
Beautiful art (the hands! and the final panel, with the feet... lovely). And that's it. I would have liked it better if it wasn't for the first 2 chapters. 1st chapter a yakuza member comes to Minori to have a massage. Minori seduces him and they have sex. Is the yakuza member the love interest? Wrong. He is just someone to have fun with.
2nd chapter comes a movie star. Minori seduces him and they have sex. Is this guy the love interest? Wrong. He is just someone Minori has fun with.
3rd and following chapters comes a guy who used to know Minori. Is he going to be another hook up? Wrong. He is Minori's true love. Unfortunately by that time I wasn't interested anymore.
[Oh, btw, the blond guy in the cover isn't the love interest. He is one of the hookups.}
Basically, it is about Minori being a massage therapist. And a good way to have a PWP. MEH.
It was an ok read. Since I read Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki first, it just felt weird to have Tatsuyuki there at the beginning (lol). Wish the whole Minori and Souta thing had happened a bit sooner because as it is, I felt like there was something missing (like I couldn't feel for their breakup). Though A+ for smut (hehe)
Lots of smut, weak plot but I think there was one. Read scans at the beach the summer of 2017 but don't want to bulk up my 2017 reading challenge with a bunch of yaoi.
Smutty with beautiful art, but the story starts with two chapters of practically meaningless smut (which could be construed as sexual assault, even if the victims ended up enjoying it). The actual story and romance between Minori and his childhood friend comes a bit too late, and the guilt Minori feels over his friend getting injured (which is not his fault at all) and the way he dealt with it just seemed forced and childish.
I picked this up because I reread @Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki and had learned it was a spin-off of this manga, but honestly, I don’t think these volumes needed to be connected at all - Tatsuyuki only appears in the first chapter of this manga, and Minori only appears in Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki as a fleeting vision. I can’t remember if I had actually ever read this in full before because while I could remember the first chapter where Tatsuyuki shows up, I honestly could not remember anything else of the plot. I don’t think I would ever re-read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
i only “read” (and i say “read” bc i mostly skimmed) this bc it was said to have some correlation to jealousy…unsurprisingly i didn’t like it so woop woop the art is nice tho
Also consent geht anders.
