When David O’Connell joins his family in Port Townsend, Washington for his sister Teresa’s wedding, they wonder why their normally outgoing, cheerful brother has become subdued and secretive. He balks at discussing his last four years as a surgeon in Africa or his fiancée Sylvia, who is coming to visit. Family friend Maddie Leftwood is a serious actress in a sex kitten’s body. The air crackles between David and Maddie from the moment their eyes meet. But over Christmas at the O’Connell Compound, David is fully preoccupied with appeasing his prickly fiancée. David has good reason to tread carefully with Sylvia, but Maddie sees no choice but to move on. She has a leading role at the local theater, where her co-star, local heartthrob Kilo, pours on the charm, drawing her into his web. David knows Maddie is funny and sweet and nothing like the blonde bombshell she appears to be. Maddie knows David is brilliant and complex and refreshingly different from other men. David and Maddie could be great together, if only they can push the reset button. Still, one giant obstacle remains. In Africa, David’s colleagues called him “the magic man.” They didn’t know the half of it.
I really enjoyed the first two books in The Olympic Peninsula series and this one was no different. The O’Connell’s are back in this book and it’s good to see what’s going with them. The Magic Man is a heartfelt tale well-written romance tale. The wonderful characters and the vivid narrative helps to move the story along. You will find yourself falling in love with our MC’s as they navigate their feelings. David is a changed man gone is the happy go lucky man he once was, and it has everyone worried. His past is getting in the way of something that could be amazing, oh and let’s not forget that a one temperamental fiancée. Just who is the Magic Man? The sexual tension is smouldering, but Maddie knows when it is time to walk away no matter what her heart feels. But could there be danger just around the corner? Cat has written something that will hit you in all the feels. With few emotional twists to navigate, the Magic Man, should not be missed. Get your hands on it today and get lost in the pages of this Women’s fiction romantic tale. I cannot wait to see what she brings next in the series.
I was excited to get to dive into another Cat Treadgold story featuring the O'Connell family! The star of this story is David, who has just returned from Africa. He's a doctor that people refer to as the "magic man". He has a fiancée who is a bit on the prickly side. David runs into Maddie at a family get-together and sparks start to fly between them. Maddie soon realizes that David isn't exactly a free man to pursue so she sets her sites on Kilo. Who will win out in the end?
This story has it all and then some! I have really enjoyed this series and I hope more books will follow soon!
Well, I am back again with a review for author Cat Treadgold for her third book in The Olympic Peninsula series, The Magic Man. As with the previous two stories, I must say that I loved it, and I have become a huge fan. This is not something I can usually say about books from the romance genre, but these stories set in Port Townsend, Washington, have become some of my favorites. These characters have begun to feel like part of the family, and it is so much fun to catch up with each and every one of them.
In The Magic Man, we meet David O’Connell who has arrived in Port Townsend to attend the wedding of his sister Tanya. David was normally a happy and very outgoing man who, his family comes to see quickly, has turned into a person who is very quiet and has become quite serious. He tries to avoid any conversation that involves his career as a doctor in Africa or anything that involves his fiancée. During the festivities leading up to the holidays and wedding, David meets Maddie Leftwood, an actress who is also in town for the wedding. Their attraction is immediate, but, of course, nothing is ever that easy as David’s fiancée Sylvia arrives in town as well. As he tries to make Sylvia happy, Maddie decides that nothing will come of this attraction and decides to move forward and focus on the theater production she is starring in. David likes Maddie because she is kind and funny. Maddie likes David because he seems very smart and down-to-earth. But it is never that simple is it? There is just too much in this “magic man’s” past that is getting in the way. Will Maddie and David ever work things out between them...what happened to him in Africa...what about Sylvia? For these answers, you will just have to read the book, and I am sure you will love it when you do.
Cat Treadgold always brings forth excellent, albeit complicated, relationships in the O’Connell family, but she does it very well. In this story, you have a great female character in Maddie, who is strong and wants to succeed as an actress without compromising her values and beliefs, and you have an excellent male character in David - he is complicated and you know there is more going on in his life. This author is able to bring out their personalities and make them seem authentic, given the situations they are in. It makes the reader really want to follow through and find out why David is this way and what is going to be the final resolution.
As always, one of my favorite parts of these stories is the continued involvement of all the secondary characters we have met in previous books. They are all there in full force, and it is wonderful to keep them all involved. It seems to bring the story together when we can follow not only the main couple and their problems but can still connect with all of our other favorites. Just as in the previous books, the plot is interesting, different, and very well-written, and the characters shine. I hope there are other members of the O’Connell family we have not yet met - I can't wait to read their stories.
Quill says: The descriptive and creative writing and the character development in The Magic Man is just what the reader needs and wants. Cat Treadgold has created another book in the Olympic Peninsula Series that is wonderful and not your average romance.
In The Magic Man, Cat Treadgold delivers another layered, emotionally intelligent installment of the Love in the Pacific Northwest series. This time, the spotlight turns to David O’Connell—a gifted but emotionally burdened surgeon—and Maddie Leftwood, an actress whose outer appearance belies the depth beneath. Their slow-burn romance is tangled in secrets, misunderstandings, and the fallout of lives lived on separate continents under very different pressures.
David O’Connell returns home to Port Townsend for his sister Teresa’s wedding (fans will recognize her from The Guardsman), but it’s clear something has changed. Gone is the cheerful, quick-witted brother the O’Connell clan remembers. In his place is a man haunted by his years as a surgeon in Africa—and by something even darker that he refuses to name. His fiancée Sylvia, who soon arrives for the holidays, only complicates the situation. Her presence is brittle, their dynamic strained, and David’s emotional distance deepens.
Enter Maddie Leftwood, a long-time family friend with a reputation that precedes her—thanks to a bombshell exterior and a career in theater. But Maddie is no shallow flirt. She’s sharp, grounded, and emotionally intuitive, immediately sensing David’s inner turmoil. The connection between them is electric, but circumstances—and Sylvia—stand in the way. As Maddie throws herself into a local production with the charming (but possibly slippery) Kilo, David finds himself increasingly unable to ignore what he feels for her… or what he’s running from.
Maddie is a delightful counterpoint. She could have easily been written as a cliché, but Treadgold gives her real emotional intelligence and strength. Watching her peel back David’s defenses while also asserting her own worth is one of the book’s most satisfying arcs.
The O’Connell family dynamic—familiar by now to series readers—is as warm, messy, and real as ever. The cozy holiday setting, contrasted with the underlying emotional tension, creates a poignant backdrop that enhances the stakes without ever feeling melodramatic.
Similarly, the subplot involving Maddie’s theater co-star Kilo adds drama, but doesn’t always feel fully integrated with the main emotional arc. Some readers may find that storyline a little underdeveloped or distracting.
The Magic Man is a soulful, character-driven romance about second chances, hidden trauma, and the healing that comes when people are finally seen for who they truly are. Treadgold has a gift for creating messy, lovable characters who fight for their happiness while carrying the weight of their pasts. For readers who enjoy thoughtful romance with emotional stakes and strong family themes, this one is a must.
This is book three to The Olympic Peninsula series and even though you COULD read this without reading the others (the author does a wonderful job at explaining who everyone is and giving little tidbits to let you know what happened in the previous books), I personally would just recommend that you read them all. You don't have to, like I said the author is wonderful, but I would. Plus once you read one you will want to read the others to learn about these wonderful characters and their somewhat odd stories/lives. In this book you read David and Maddie's story. David returns to the family for his sister Teresa's wedding (her book is number 2). It's odd that he just shows up out of the blue and the rest of the family can't quite get a read on him. He's been a surgeon in Africa for the last four years, but he doesn't want to discuss it. He also doesn't want to talk about his fiancée who's coming to visit around the holidays. Weird right? But they're not the only guests visiting the family. Maddie who is a serious actress is also staying at the O'Connell Compound and she has a leading role at the local theater! Unfortunately her co-star is Kilo, who's the local yoga instructor, Teresa's ex husband, and a huge charmer of the ladies. Even though she is drawn to David, knowing he's engaged and his life is going another direction Maddie is pulled into Kilo's web full of charm and excitement. She's okay with a little theater fling, but it will end when the show does. Right? David wants Maddie, but his life is so complicated right now. He left Africa for a reason, he is busy appeasing his fiancée, and he also needs to figure out some custody issues as well. These two would have been perfect for each other. Time just isn't on their side. Their lives are not on the same path right now. If only they could hit a reset button and meet each other at another time in their lives. Such a great series!! I can't wait to finish it!! Grab this set today if you love contemporary romances with twists and turns and even a little magic!!
I absolutely love this book series, if I could give it more stars on the rating scale I would. The Magic Man is the third book in The Olympic Peninsula series, where we get to read the story of Joe's older brother, David, and find out about what happened to cause him to return from his time working as a doctor in Africa. Not only do we get to follow along with David, but we also get to know Maddie's story. The sparks were flying between David, Kilo, and Maddie, at the end of the last book in this series, it's time to find out which guy she chooses to be with. Also, what is up with Sylvia, David's fiancé from Africa, he claims he will not be marrying but has to deal with issues that are weighing heavily on him. I love that this series takes place in the Pacific Northwest, a place I know very well. Cat Treadgold has done an amazing job portraying the beauty of Port Townsend, and the feeling of unity that is so well-known in its small community. It's great that we get to continue with the story of the main characters from the first 2 books in this series. This group has grown together, but sometimes being together all the time, can lead to feelings of being too close. Will each of the couples be able to work through their marital issues, or will we see some relationships that have been building take a turn for the worse? You will not want to put this book down once you start reading it, the best part, is you do not have to read them in the order that they were written, I prefer to do it this way, but each book can stand on its own just as well. You'll just be missing out on some great stories if you skip any. @Brandy Rymer 12/2023
The Magic Man is book 3 in this series. Bringing us back to The Olympic Peninsula. The author takes the reader on another journey of one of the O’Connell siblings' troubles and journey. Though not completely focused on him, Maddie is the lead in this story. He is very much involved. Maddie finds herself in a triangle. She has feelings for both David and Kilo. While trying to get to know the family her mother is marrying into she finds herself on the O’Connell compound. Where David, newly back from Africa, is staying. She’s intrigued by David, but doesn’t feel like she’s good enough for him. Then there’s Kilo. Teresa’s ex, who owns the yoga studio, screams sex appeal. He knows what he wants and goes for it. Everyone knows it’s not the best idea, but decides to let Maddie make her own decision. Is it a mistake? Should she leave Kilo behind and move on? Well she tried and he’s back now she’s back to being torn. At the same time feels David hates her. David wants to make things right but how? Maddie won’t give him the time of day. He needs to go about it correctly, to truly show her how he feels vs what she overheard. Will he be successful? These books though a series work well as a standalone novel as well. The supporting cast gets their own chapters or parts of chapters, however even then it always ends up back on the books main focus. The O’Connell family is upstanding and extremely loving. However there’s been some broken pieces throughout all 3 books. Will David be able to fix his broken piece? I guess you will have to read to find out!
This is the 3rd book in the The Olympic Peninsula series. These romances are really good reads. Each book does follow a different couples story however the characters do cross over as they are related in some way to other characters in books that come before.
This is David and Maddie's story.
David has returned from Africa for his sisters wedding. But something doesn't seem quite right with him. Gone is the happy carefree man that left for Africa. What has caused his change? Could it the things he has seen as a doctor in Africa or is there something or someone closer to home causing the change?
The connection between Maddie and David is immediate but with David's partner around Maddie decides to move on by meeting Kilo. Now she finds herself in a kind of triangle as she is torn between David and Kilo. She can't stop thinking about David and how well matched they are even though he is taken, but she also knows there isn't any hope as he is spoken for. Which man will she choose? The man who knows her completely or the man who has fallen for the image she portrays.
These stories are beautifully written with so many twist and turns that I couldn't put it down. The characters are so well developed that if feels like they could be members of my own family. These stories show that relationships aren't all sunshine and roses but hard work and learning how to overcome obstacles together. I love these stories
This book intertwines all of the characters from the first two books but focuses on David and Maddie. I liked how even some chapters were from the POV of characters from the other books. David has been a doctor in Africa and has finally made his way back to the PNW. He is pretty secretive and won’t let on why he decided he was done but has made it back for his sister Teresa’s wedding to Liam. Maggie is the daughter of Ali and Liam’s dad’s girlfriend. She is an actress and gets a small part in a local play so decides to stay at the compound. Maddie is attracted to David but isn’t feeling respected so she starts something with Kilo, the local yoga teacher and a fellow cast member. Kilo is a lot and Maddie wants to end it but it makes her feel good. David has to deal with a fiance that comes to visit and a few secrets that he has been keeping. Maddie and David give in to the feelings but he gets a migraine and then it is just a lot of awkwardness between them that everyone in the compound notices. I love all the characters in these books - Ali and Joe are good but he has decided to go on tour again which makes Ali nervous. Teresa and Liam are struggling but love each other. Maddie has to decide if she wants to continue working towards becoming a big name actress and David needs to decide if can put all of secrets and feelings out there.
The Magic Man is the third book in the Olympic Peninsula series by Cat Treadgold. Following the story of Maddie and David. Maddie is a very serious actress, standing on her morals and principles, refusing to bend her will for any part. When a roadblock is placed in her career path, involving nudity for a part, she will have to decide if she can afford to hold to her principles or lose her career. David is a traveler and artist in his own right, he will enter Maddie’s life like a breath of fresh air. His life and passion will pull her down a road that she isn’t sure is for her but she can’t look away from David. David and Maddie’s stories are told in two parts, in Port Townsend and Africa, showing the layers and depth that they are willing to go through for each other. The connection between these two is electric and can’t be denied on any level. As a reader you are often left feeling like the characters are going in opposite ways, but here you find the magnetism puling them together from the first interaction. I have loved to see this series develop, with all the characters, reading how their lives unfold and intertwine. I can’t wait to see where the next book goes. If you are looking a great read, that is full of emotional depth, healing and falling in love than this is the series for you!
The Magic Man is the third book in The Olympic Peninsula series by Cat Treadgold. It is another well-woven contemporary romance with interesting characters, family dynamics, emotion, drama, angst, complications, a bit of a love triangle element, interconnected characters, intrigue, and more. Here we meet David O’Connell who has arrived for his sister Teresa’s wedding (Teresa & Liam’s story ->’The Guardsman’ Book #2). His family notice that he isn’t the man he used to be- what is he hiding? What happened to him to make him so serious, subdued, and secretive? As the story unfolds the intrigue mounts, and when revelations are made, the story doesn’t let go. As with the first two instalments, Ms. Treadgold has woven a great story with complex characters, interesting developments, tension, and emotional touches- which made it really easy to connect with the characters, and completely invest in their story (but, that’s not to say there weren’t a few frustrating moments with them along the way). Looking forward to the rest of the series. Happy Reading…
Having read the previous books in this enjoyable series I was looking forward to this third book and I was not disappointed. It can be read as a standalone story, however the characters do crossover and I love being able to ‘catch up’ with past characters. David O’ Connell has returned to Port Townsend for his sister Teresa’s wedding having spent four years as a surgeon in Africa. His family are concerned about him as he used to be cheerful and outgoing but is now subdued and secretive. He won’t even talk about his time in Africa or his fiancée Sylvia. When David and family friend actress Maddie meet they have instant chemistry, but once his fiancée arrives for Christmas David is soon busy appeasing her. Maddie realises she needs to move on and so when she meets her co-star and local heartthrob Kilo she is soon swayed by his charm. Maddie and David know they could be good together if given the chance, but there are so many obstacles between them, and why do David’s colleagues in Africa call him “the magic man”. As usual the characters and setting are brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, making me feel fully immersed in the storyline.
Another book in the series, another callback to previous characters as the connections continue to grow. The O'Connell siblings are back and this one is about brother David, a doctor serving years in Africa. He has a lot of secrets, a very prickly fiancee, and no desire to talk to anyone about any of it despite his history of being the friendly and engaging sibling. He has come back to Washington to celebrate the wedding of Teresa and Liam.
Maddie is an actress who looks like a total sexpot, but relies heavily on her moral compass to guide her audition choices. When she gets a part in a local theater's production, she decides to stay at the compound. Maddie is wildly attracted to David, and him to her - but when his fiancee shows up she decides she knows when she has lost and it's time to move on. She gets drawn in by her costar Kilo and finds herself in a bit of a love triangle.
As usual, Cat Treadgold has woven a beautiful world, and each step of her world-building hits us with relatable characters, angst, slow burns, and complex relationships and scenarios. Each addition just continues to make the entire series more enjoyable.
This is the third book in the Olympic Peninsula series. I have found each of these books amazing and have read them very quickly. Each book definitely functions as a standalone but I do recommend reading each of them to get all the feels of the series. In this book we are back with the O’Connell family. These siblings all have much love for one another and each lives a very interesting life. This story is Maddie, David, and Kilo. These characters had some true sparks in the second book. The focus is on David and his time in Africa. The author does a fantastic job in this story creating vivid imagery. It is not hard to picture the Olympic Peninsula or Africa. This describes the love triangle between the three main characters in depth and I have to say that I was rooting for each of them at different points. I definitely recommending this book and the whole series! I definitely hope there is more to come from the O’Connell family and the Olympic Peninsula!
Having read the previous 2 books I was rather keen to get stuck into this one because you read of the different family members and you get furious don’t you , so when the opportunity comes knocking to discover more you grab it 😉
Two things that bring families together , weddings and funerals . Fortunately in this instance it’s a wedding ! Yay ! So Teresa is getting married and David her brother , who’s been working in Africa , joins them in Port Townsend . Something is off though , he doesn’t seem himself and there’s a fiancé in tow ….
Family friend , Maddie catches his eye and you can feel the tension between them and David is having a tough time fighting his desires and walking on eggshells to keep Sylvie happy….
Maddie being an actress has an opportunity with the local theatre and she feels she can’t pine after David forever and she catches the eye of Kilo….
There’s so much to love about this book but what really gets me and what I appreciate is the “ humanness “ of the characters , they’re real , their issues are real and they work through them 🥰
The Magic Man (The Olympic Peninsula Book 3) by Cat Treadgold. This is the story of David who has gone home to Port Townsend to attend the wedding of his sister. David has always been fun and outgoing but his family has noticed he is very quiet and not talking about his fiancee or his work in Africa as a Doctor. During the wedding events David meets Maddie who is a actress in town for the wedding. As David and Maddie spend time together they are really enjoying each other's company. Their chemistry is immediate and David knows he can't act on it because of his fiancee. Maddie likes David because he is smart and kind and David likes Maddie because she is sweet and has a great sense of humor. David drops it because he knows that he can't go further because of his fiancee. Maddie also has feelings for Kilo who owns the yoga studio and is sexy! Who will Maddie choose and will she find her happily every after? Will David finally let out his secrets? This is a awesome romance!
We are back with book 3 in the Olympic Peninsula series called, The Magic Man. This time we are following Teresa and Joe's brother David and their family friend Maddie. David has been in Africa working as a surgeon, but when he comes home he is subdued and quiet, not quite his usual outgoing self. He's being secretive and quiet because his fiancée Sylvia is also coming to visit, but his family knows nothing about this. Their family friend Maddie is also home to visit. The chemistry between David and Maddie is undeniable but they both have their own respectable partners. Even though these two have danced around each other for years, neither one of them seems to want to ruin a friendship with a potential relationship. Maddie knows that it is best to walk away as nothing will come of their attraction. Will they see that there is potential or will they always see each other as the one that got away?
The Magic Man: A Love Triangle Forced Proximity Romance by Cat Treadgold 5 Star Review Another romance hits Port Townsend, this time a crazy triangle. Dr. David O’Connell returns for the wedding of Teresa and Liam. David has been a doctor in Africa. He is the friendly O’Connell sibling, but when he needs to talk about his life, he is a closed book. Maddie is an actress who is performing with Milo. She likes David, Milo likes her. This creates and interesting dialogue and storyline. Add in the fact that David is engaged and things get more intense. This book is another masterpiece by Cat Treadgold. The characters are colorful, realistic, and relatable. This is an easy read and almost impossible to put down. I read this series out of order, but would recommend that anyone else read them in order. This will save on some spoilers you would get from other books. Cat Treadgold is a natural storyteller.
Fantastic continuation of this series! I love that you can read these as standalones or as the series. I always recommend reading as a series simply because you will get little details here and there that you would otherwise miss; however, with this series, those details are not so important to each plot that you have to read it as a series. I love that we continue to follow the O'Connell siblings and are now focused on David and Maddie (who is also interested in Kilo, the yoga instructor) and their journey to finding out what they all want. I love the setting of this series, the Pacific Northwest, and I absolutely love Treadgold's writing. You really can't go wrong with this series. There is intrigue, mystery, love, heartbreak, and so much more. I highly, highly recommend starting this series right now...whether it's book 1 or book 3!
The O’Connell siblings return in the third book of The Olympic Peninsula Series, The Magic Man. This installment follows the complicated relationships between David and Maddie and Maddie and Kilo. Cat Treadgood weaves this story with drama, angst, and a slow-burn chemistry that will catch you off guard. David is the accomplished surgeon returning home from Africa after several years away; Maddie is the family friend starring in a local theater production; Kilo is Maddie's handsome, charming co-star. This book is both hot and cold at once, creating a sizzling tension that is hard to put down. As with the other two books in the series, this one can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them in order. I think it helped create a connection with the characters, almost like you're a family friend experiencing the drama firsthand. I can't wait to read more in this series.
Yay, I love that we got to have another in this series. As with all the others, this one lived up to the others. We have a strong female character in Maddie. She goes through a lot of challenges. David O'Connell comes home to join his family and meets Maggie. This is one relationship that I enjoyed watching develop and grow. They have chemistry and were able to work through things. We also got to see familiar faces from the previous books. The author does a wonderful job of giving us some complex stories that keep you engaged and reading. When you finish, you want more. In this, I hope there will be more. This is a romance series that I will always recommend because you end up thinking, enjoying and relating to them.
The Magic Man is book 3 In The Olympic Peninsula Series, as with the first 2, I am a BIG fan of them. Not only because they are just so well written, but because I actually live in Port Townsend and in the first pages, they are at Manresa Castle in which my daughter is actually the Hotel manager. So, these books have been extra fun for me to read. They are contemporary romance full of family, love, drama and all the good stuff. This is David and Maddie's story. All of the characters are well written and interesting which makes them easy to connect with. I of course could not put it down and would highly recommend.
I’ve loved each book in this series, but this may be my favorite so far! In this book we focused on David and hearing about his experience as a doctor in Africa. Maddie and Kilo are also a focus in this story, and it will have you on the edge of your seat forgetting about your real-world duties for a bit. The author sets the scene with such vivid imagery that I felt like I was fully immersed in the Pacific Northwest! While you can likely read this as a standalone without much confusion, I highly recommend reading from the beginning to get the full backstory and experience. Don’t skip this series!
Take me back!!! Whew. I love this author, I love this series. Here we are, book 3... David and Maddie (and Kilo...kinda) While this is the 3rd book, you COULD read it alone, but by reading the whole series, you truly get the whole picture, and understand more of the little things between the characters. I didn't think I'd love another book more than the 1st, but this one is fighting REALLLLLLLY hard for that spot. If you love a great romance, with a little bit of a mystery and alll the good stuff in between, you wont wanna miss this series, or, just this book, (but absolutely read the series if you have the time!!)
The spotlight here shifts to David and Maddie, and the chemistry between them crackles like electricity. David and Maddie’s story was full of tension and spark. Their relationship had that hot-and-cold feel to read, and Maddie bugged me with her negativity but she grew on me.
David’s mysterious past as a surgeon in Africa, his prickly fiancée Sylvia, and Maddie’s sizzling on-stage magnetism—sets the stage for a romance that feels both fresh and tangled
I’m also hoping that Kilo find his ever after because right now in the story I do not like him at all. But that could be my own trauma talking 😏
This book is the third in the series and is just as good as the previous books. I loved getting to know a bit more about David and his situation. Watching his connection with Maddie develop was great to see as it felt real and genuine. The story is well written and has a great pace to it. The author always knows exactly what needs to be done to progress the story. I am really enjoying becoming more familiar with this authors work and cannot wait to discover more. This is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Family friend Maddie is attending Liam and Teressas wedding. She meets Joes brother David and has an instant connection but apparently he is unavailable. She also meets local yoga instructor Kilo and is attracted him. Kilo pours on the charm as they costar in a local theater but there’s something refreshing a different about David. This is the third book in the series. You can read it as a stand-alone but I def recommend to read the other 2 books as you get good developed of the other characters in the series.
The Magic Man is book 3 of this Olympic Peninsula series. It follows the O'Connell siblings David, Maddie and the love triangle between them and Kilo. I was super duper excited to read this one after finishing the last two. This whole series is so well written and so well described that it makes me wanna go there for a visit 😂 I was happy Maddie ended up with who I wanted ( you'll have to read to see lmao) . This can also be read as a standalone just like the rest but as always I highly suggest reading the whole series because they are awesome sauce. I can't wait for more from this author
David has been away in Africa for several years as a doctor treating those in need. The family is trying to figure out why David seems so different from the smart kid who wanted to help others. Maddie is a young actress who is contemplating life as she knows it now and how long she can continue on her path. As with the other books in this series, the author does a beautiful job of character and world building. The Olympic peninsula and the O’Connell family and friends make these book not only fun to read but suck you into the story so you will want to read all 3 books in a day if you could.
The Magic Man is book 3 of "The Olympic Peninsula" series by Cat Treadgold. I want to say as little as possible about book 3, as David and Maddie's journey is just one you HAVE to read for yourself. As with the previous two books Cat has created a soulfull, heartfelt, and absolutely beautiful piece of work here and I cannot express enough how much I want you to read this one. This is an extremely close second favorite (they're all my favorite let's be honest I love this series!), just for how you truly get to see these characters grow right before your eyes.
