This is a fascinating saga of a woman gradually realizing her father's predatory nature and then committing to finding the truth behind a girl who disappeared (with her father's help) when she was a child. While fascinated, I found that the detail sometimes dragged on with all of the administrative hurdles that she encountered. They certainly were important to her quest, but it lost some narrative cohesion at times in favor of excessive detail. Ultimately, the outcomes were as they were, which may feel unsatisfying or redemptive, I think, but were somewhere in the middle for me.
The book was a great read but sad. The disappearance of a little girl in coatbridge that turned everything around. Sadly finding out your own father was behind it all along with more. It was sad the confession was completely made but I'm happy there is a charity and foundation under the girls name to help those who have been through it but also haven't, especially to keep them safe

We should all have a friend like Sandra; steadfast and relentless in her quest to get to the bottom of a crime even the local police did little about. This story was incredible.
