In the 20th century, astonishing discoveries have surfaced which point to the existence of a transcendent, extra-dimensional Creator. Furthermore, numerous recent discoveries now confirm the incredible scientific and historical accuracy of the Bible as well as the supernatural origin of its text.In this four-pack series, Chuck Missler and Dr. Mark Eastman examine this evidence and conclusively demonstrate that the Bible is an integrated, supernatural message system whose origin is from outside our time domain
Author Chuck Missler wrote in the first chapter of this 2016 book, “We directly experience time and three dimensions (length, width and height) but additional dimensions exist past the ones we see with our physical eyes… We can’t feel those additional dimensions with our fingers, but they affect us… in more ways than we can imagine. This book is the first in a series, the introduction of our exploration of the nature of reality… Throughout all of these investigations, we find the brilliant engineering of the One who spoke it all into being. In this study, we’re going to explore the implications of Einstein’s theories of relativity. We’ll examine the physics and then delve into the ways his breakthrough ideas tie in with what the Bible says about our destiny.” (Pg. 1-2)
He observes, “We face a real conundrum when we consider the matter of fate versus free will. The Scriptures seem to acknowledge both. Yes, God has plans and purposes for us, things He has determined in advance for us. And yes, we are held responsible for the choices we make. Yes, we have a free will, we have the power to create and destroy, to rescue and to devastate in real, lasting ways. Yet we are predestined to accomplish certain goals. That sounds like a paradox, but only when viewed from within the constraints of the Time dimension. When we stop looking at the linearly, we find that the paradox evaporates.” (Pg. 3)
He states, “The universe is not as straight forward as it appears. According to Edward Witten’s M-Theory, there are at least 10 dimensions, plus supergravity. The human race has long believed in the spiritual, but through physics we now understand there truly are additional dimensions beyond those we directly see and touch.” (Pg. 24)
He argues, “There are dozens of [Bible] passages that treat space as something that can be stretched. In fact, it gets worse than that. According to the Bible, space can be: *Torn… *Worn like a garment… *Shaken… *Burnt up... *Rolled up… That’s an important set of descriptions. If the heavens can be rolled up, that means there must be an additional dimension in which to roll it up. After all, a two-dimensional photograph can’t be rolled up in two dimensions… It has to have three dimensions available for rolling to be possible. In order for space to be rolled up, there must be an additional dimension that allows that kind of movement. These texts all imply that there are additional spatial dimensions past the four we directly experience.” (Pg. 28)
He explains, “Gerald Schroeder … is a nuclear physicist … [and] an Orthodox Jew… he offers an interesting viewpoint about the days of Creation. He points out that the stretch factor of the expansion of the universe is about … 10 [sic] with 12 zeros after it… These add up to about 16 billion years… if we shrink that down by the expansion factor of the Universe, we get six days. Did God build the universe in six literal days? It could be. Do those days now appear to be [1,000,000,000,000 times] greater than they once were? It could be. Schroeder sees the expansion of the universe as strictly a stretch factor---and he correlates the expansion of the universe to the apparent differences from the six days of Creation during which only God’s clock weas running. Adam showed up on the last day. It’s one possible way to explain the apparent discrepancy between Genesis 1 and the common dating of the universe.” (Pg. 29-30)
He observes, “The beauty of creation rests not just in humankind alone, but in all of nature. From the smallest to the largest, the universe demonstrates great balance and symmetry. More than that, philosophers and scientists alike have long notes that the universe seems perfectly balanced to allow life on Earth to exist. the very laws of physics---from the fundamental forces that hold atoms together to the forces of gravity and electromagnetism---are just right for the existence of molecules, the formation of heavy elements, the health of the Earth’s magnetic field, and the stability of planets and starts. It’s an amazingly choreographed dance, and those who study physics understand details that are easily lost on those who don’t.” (Pg. 54)
He states, “Australian physicists Barry Setterfield and Trevor Norman … outline the mathematical evidence that the speed of light in a vacuum is not constant at all. When I first learned about this research and mentioned it in our Bible studies, I was visited by Hugh Ross and some of my other physics friends who very gently tried to counsel me against promoting the scientific heresy that the speed of light is not a constant. They… meant well in trying to keep me out of trouble. I chose to stick with Barry and Trevor’s position, and it has been repeatedly confirmed… theoretical physicists Andreas Albrecht and Jo ao Magueijo … pointed out a number of puzzles that could be explained by a one-time faster speed of light… team of physicists under Paul Davies … discovered (to their shock) that the speed of light appeared to be slowing down… Barry Setterfield … found a statistically significant decay in [the speed of light]… A comparison of dates … from archaeology, corals, tree-rings and atomic dates from radioactive isotopes … [over] almost 5000 years. They all demonstrate that the speed of light has slowed over the centuries.” (Pg. 70-72)
He says, “if we take Genesis 1:1 in Hebrew and plug in the numerical values of each of the Hebrew letters and the numeric value of the words and make the following calculation, we get a very interesting result… Now, let’s look at … John 1:1. If we read the Greek and make the same calculation … we get another very interesting result… I’m amazed that these two dimensionless mathematical constants are embedded in the Biblical text. We can argue and say, ‘That’s just a weird coincidence,’ except the math of that coincidence is ridiculously absurd… I suspect there are dozens of other clues like this that link the constants of the universe to the Biblical text, placed there by the Holy Spirit as a fingerprint.” (Pg. 75-76)
Missler’s views will be of great interest to some Christians (and be dismissed by some others).
Lots of physics to show underlying precepts. The whole point is, God is. His Word is true and there is ample evidence for it, if you care to look for it. Way more than you could ever imagine. Crux of the matter is, your choice - what will you choose to believe and live for? Challenging
I love how Chuck makes science understandable for the non-scientist and then fully ties that to the reality of who we are, who God is and His amazing love for us. I devoured the book!
The book goes into sophisticated scientific analysis that is already done. It effectively compares Biblical words and science. References are available for those who really want to research the details.
This series of lectures was first released on audio cassette back in the 90's. The material is based on Chuck Missler and Mark Eastman's book THE CREATOR BEYOND TIME AND SPACE, and most of the information holds up surprisingly well. However, there are a few dated references to things like computer diskettes, as well as a couple references to notions now under heavy dispute, such as the belief that a Japanese fishing boat once drug up the rotting carcass of a plesiosaur. The four "briefing packs" contained in this set are as follows: "The Creator Beyond Time and Space," "The Bible: an Extraterrestrial Message," "Immanuel: Deity of Messiah," and "The Divine Watchmaker." All of these lectures are good, but I personally preferred hearing Mark Eastman, simply because I'm so familiar with Missler's material. As a medical doctor, Eastman is particularly good at detailing the various problems with the idea of molecules-to-man evolution, and his lecture on the divinity of Jesus debunks the false premise that Jesus didn't claim to be God, and that the Bible never presented him as such.
I listened to the original lecture this "book" was based on. It was interesting, but, once again, I'm disappointed by Missler's tendency to repeat himself ad naseum in these topical studies. There was nothing in this lecture that I haven't heard Missler say countless times elsewhere (apart from his unnecessary summary of Robert Heinlein's short story "All You Zombies"). For one thing, the first session of this two-part study is virtually identical to "Hour 1" of Missler's LEARN THE BIBLE IN 24 HOURS series.
Chuck Missler has written several intriguing books and this is one of them. I recommend this book highly. whether you are a Christian or not you will find the information presented to be a rewarding experience.
