When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

Heart dtopping adventures
I have just finished all 31 of the Patricia Fisher adventures. They were all extremely entertaining. I found the exploits of an out of shape fifty something to be lots of fun. And Patricia has a distinctive method of solving crimes. It's sort of a " flying by the seat of her bloomers" technique. Once I started, I couldn't stop. Loved them all.

Amusing & Interesting
Enjoyed this little series mostly, the heroine, Mrs Fisher, is quite clever and also amusing at times. Loved the development of the characters, with the exception of Gloria, feel she’s a little too over the top with no limits. I like the way the team works together, but occasionally Mrs Fisher is a little egotistical, which is as irksome as Gloria. All in all, the series is smartly crafted, and to think! A lot of it happens on a cruise ship!

Can Patricia keep her?
This is an Amazing series!! Steve Higgs is a creative, intense, humorous writer. All of his characters have such wonderful in-depth personalities and each person plays off the other to make a fantastic book. In this adventure so much happens but the main storyline is about Patricia and her crew being shadowed by a murderous sadistic, master of disguise man and his cohort who feels no pain & is a gigantic giant of a man that has his own sadistic streak. The race is on to see who can find the wreck of the San Jose first. The San Jose is a ship that supposedly sank with a treasure worth billions. Who will find the wreck first and also solve the mystery of who killed a man who swallowed a fortune in gems aboard the ship, Aurelia. Patricia has solved many high profile cases and sent many criminals to jail for life.
You will enjoy every moment of this excellent series, Steve Higgs wraps up everything in a breathtaking surprising ending!!!

Such a great, fun read!
These Patricia Fischer mysteries are such fun! I have been binge reading every one I can find and I was sad to reach the end of this boxed set, even though I couldn’t put it down! The characters are all I would want as friends, and I have become quite attached to every single one of them! These are great books and immensely entertaining! I highly recommend them!

As usual, Mrs Fisher’s adventures don’t disappoint
In this continuing series, Mrs. Fisher and her team face new mysteries and unexpected adventures together. The characters are fun and quirky. Danger, disaster, and sometimes hilarity keep the stories moving at a fast pace. I like the way Steve Higgs keeps a continuing central mystery throughout this set of books. (Aside to Mr Higgs: I do not wish to see Buddy sneak aboard the Aurelia again in the future!)

Steve Higgs has written many books, all mysteries, and I'm working my way through them all, ignoring all of the other books I'd planned to read this year. They're that good, and the Patricia Fisher, Ship's Detective collection is among his best work. I'm looking forward to more Patricia Fisher stories.

entertaining stories
Patricia Fisher and her friends solve mysteries on land and at sea. Be forewarned that the mysteries aren’t completely solved in one book, although the mystery for that book is solved. There is a larger story that flows through the series. Very entertaining and humorous.

Wacky crazy plots. Good friends. Klutzy Patricia tripping and falling into swimming pools. Her amazing brain stores and sorts clues while everyone is flailing around spending the Maharaja's money (thanks to him!). Steve Higgs never ceases to entertain. However, got to say, I don't think Gloria is a good add to this series.

Many late, late nights unable to stop reading!!
This box set is a cozy mystery lover's dream. I love mature women Smith books. Each book is a great mystery on its own but they complement the previous mystery. Mrs. Fisher and team cross the globe with ruthless crooks and killers to defeat.

Fantastic read
What a fantastic series of books. They are amusing, colourful, suspenseful and very lively. I enjoy all the characters, the plots and most of all the love that has developed between the characters. Even the dogs are wonderful. I take my hat off to Steve Higgs for his fast paced writing and his amazing imagination. I can’t read them quick enough.

Fun reading!
I really enjoyed this set of books. Fun and funny, trying to figure out each mystery before the authors reveal. They are clean reading. Imaginative. Just what I love, adventure, imagination, and no smut! Read the first 2and I guarantee you will be hooked to read the rest of the set and looking to finding more of Steve Higgs books. Enjoy!!!

I absolutely love this series.
I'm thoroughly invested in Mrs. Fisher and her associate. I'll be looking for other books by Mr. Higgs to keep me entertained. I'm curious about Blue Moon, Priscilla the wedding planner and all the peripheral chapters who are spinning out there and, undoubtedly in Mr. Higgs' imagination.

I love these stories! The characters seem so real, and their adventures and mysteries are so varied, and the writing is so enthralling that I can barely stop reading! The stories just carry you along on a wave of humor, love, and friendship, and I for one am grateful to go with them. I can’t wait to keep reading along!

I just love Steve Higgs Patricia Fisher series. They are entertaining, adventurous, always something different. I like how the characters are interwoven from one book to another. Sometimes I can figure them out and sometimes I can't. Just a fun read. I especially like Patricia and Allister.
