The picturesque town of Haven may offer sanctuary for all, but the irony is getting harder to monsters are vanishing. Aline knows better than to meddle. The runaway Princess of Faere learned the hard way what happens when others see what her magic can do. No, it's far better to focus on her own problems like running The Monster's Den and staying off the paranormal council's radar. Tragedy strikes Haven as things are finally starting to come together for the lonely fae, and Aline has no choice but to intervene.
The blows keep coming when the paranormal council initiates a full-scale inquiry into why monsters vanish from Haven. It seems her house of cards is about to tumble. Can she trust the ghosts of her past and the unhinged monsters desperate to be a part of her future to help keep her safe? Will they even want to when they see what she's capable of?
This book is set in the A Monstrous World Series. It's an interconnected standalone that features a new female main character, but it was designed so that you can jump in here if you prefer. It's these characters complete romance. No cliffhangers!
I love the mix of monsters. They are so sweet and loving to Ali, though badass monsters to everyone else. I actually loved these guys a little more than the guys in the first book. There was Atlas, an orc/giant hybrid, Malice, a nightmare demon, Silence, a Seelie fae prince, and Hex, a Fae/kraken hybrid. And of course, all sorts of crazy shenanigans happen when you're a Fae princess on the run for murder.
This was an easy fun read, though it did have what could be a triggering issue being dealt with for some so please check the warnings. I am loving this little monster town of Haven and can't wait for Nadia's but especially Charity's story because Dragons. Sexy dragons.
“I’ve got you,” he says in his language as he brushes his thumb over my bottom lip. “And now that I do, I’m never letting you escape. Try to run, and I’ll be forced to hunt you.” He grins, making the experience sound purely sexual. “You have my solemn vow that I will murder anyone who tries to keep me from you from here on out.” My heart flames in response to his words. I can feel his sincerity, and it’s overwhelming as hell. “I hope you’re happy, little one. You’re mine.”
Another great book by Jillian West! I loved this sweet and spicy romance. I am always a fan of unique peens and appendages - The FMC, Ali’s, variety of monster mates come with tentacles, shadows, and “will it fit” size. Plus, oviposition goodness.
There is very minimal angst. She has four mates (fated and chosen) who are all in and will burn the world down to keep her safe. Her orc/giant mate even goes so far as becoming a serial killer to protect her identity. That’s love!
This book is fast-burn and incredibly spicy. Two of Ali’s mates are virgins, but that doesn’t stop them from deviant thoughts. Ali is mated in multiple forms with MF and group partner combinations (DVP is on order)!
The extended epilogues are the icing on the cake. The Monster’s Wife ends in the sweetest HEA for all.
It is a standalone, but I recommend reading The Monster’s Den first for the best reading experience. There are crossover characters and plotlines.
Genre: Paranormal Monster Romance Tropes/Features: friends to lovers, secret husbands, fated (soul) mates, chosen mates, mixed species pack – nightmare, orc/giant, two fae (one shifts to Kraken), fae FMC in hiding, virgin MMCs, tentacles, shadows, size difference, oviposition, sex club, breeding kink, touch her and die vibes, DVP and group scenes Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV Relationship Type: Why choose MFMMM, fast burn, ALL the spice (fancy peens ahead) Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA (Reading The Monster’s Den beforehand isn’t required but I recommend it for best experience) TW/CW: Available in the Author’s Note
• Monster Romance • Woman on the run • Found family • Infertility topics • Pack full of different monsters • Strong FMC • Affectionate MMCs
I've never really tried out a shifter romance like this and I'm loving it. I've read all of Jillian West's Omegaverse romance books. So these were next on my list. And she's never let me down in the past! 🥰 I devoured the first audiobook of the series and quickly moved on to the second. Especially when I found out it was going to be Aline's book! I loved her character in the first book. These can definitely be read as standalones, but it's been so much fun to follow the series. However, Jillian does a fantastic job of filling you in on what you might have missed.
I LOVED Aline and her guys! Every one of them brought something special to the pack! I enjoyed getting to know them so much! Getting to understand each species(?) has been so much fun!
This was also my first tentacle spice book! And I really wasn't sure what to expect. And hot d*mn it was spice. This whole book was probably the spiciest book I've read by Jillian West. And if you have read one of her books in the past I'm sure that seems like a hard thing to do! But she did it. She does spicy and sweet so well!
I also enjoyed seeing glimpses of Emerson and her guys!
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW Duet Narration Narrated by Melissa Moran and Michael Gallagher
Again! I'm blown away! Absolutely devouring these audiobooks! Melissa has done such an amazing job bringing each of these ladies to life. And Michael, just wow, I can't get enough of his accents. His ability to switch from one accent to another is mind blowing. He's so incredibly talented.
Two things that annoyed me. Why isn't this linked to the series? And why don't we learn where Nadine has gone?
For most of the book I was leaning toward 4 stars but it picks up as you go. I don't read grovel because it never lines up. Her husbands didn't do anything terrible but damn did they grovel. Idk if that was even the authors intention but it was good shit.
Also baby fox 🐙 he gets 5 stars alone because I once tried to shove my little brother in the toliet too
“The Monster’s Wife” is another brilliantly funny monster romance from West. This book is book two in the series, and while you could read it as a standalone, I would highly recommend otherwise.
As we learn from book one, Aline is on the run from something. Or rather, two men. In “The Monster’s Wife” we learn just what it is that she’s been hiding from and the role these two men play.
The harem in this book is delightfully funny. Atlas is half orc half giant and 100% my type. His faith to Aline was beautiful and I love how he remained devoted to her even after the truth was revealed.
Malice was an enigma. He was a new monster to me, and I had trouble visualizing him at times throughout the book. However, he brought so much comedic relief to the harem and it was so needed!
Silence and Hex…my babies! These two fae men went through hell for Aline. I loved their character development and how they stood by Aline unwavering.
Each man helped lift Aline up and make her into a stronger woman. I so enjoyed reading about their journey to becoming free from Faerie, while also seeing them fight for a future. If you’re looking for a charming, comedic monster romance that is equal parts entertainment and seriousness, give “The Monster’s Wife” a read.
4.4 stars. Very similar kind of vibes to ‘Knot Guaranteed’ from this same author. I mean, different, but same same. FMC in this one also has fertility issues. 🤷🏻♀️ There’s other similarities, but I can’t think of them at the moment. Mostly I think it was the overall vibe of the book.
I really enjoyed reading this. It was hot as hell with all the different kinds of monsters and their fun…appendages. 😂
Plus, two of the guys were virgins. Love that shit.
Safety + other info: • interconnected standalone • no MM but two of the guys kiss (they don’t have feelings for each other) in order to show the pain a mate feels when they are intimate with someone else • Silence and Hex both felt pain every time the FMC was intimate with someone else due to the fated mate bond, but the FMC did not know they would know she was with someone else/ it caused them pain, so she is remorseful • FMC hooked up with a bartender a few years ago • FMC celibate for three years • Atlas (orc/ giant) was rejected by the mate his family wanted him to have. This was before he met our FMC. No other info on his past. • Silence (fae prince) celibate 23 years • Hex (half kraken) and Malice (nightmare demon) are virgins • no OW/OM • set at a s3x club (FMC doesn’t offer services, I think she was more of a manager) • One scene where the FMC is intimate with two of her mates and the s3x club watches. The FMC was glamoured to look like another woman for the crowd but her mates do not see the glamour. • One scene where FMC takes her mate to watch two of the side characters having s3x but he does not want to watch them. He only wants to look at the FMC
What a great blend of angst, spice, and sweet! Ali was strong because she had to be, but we get to see her walls come down as Atlas burrows his way into her heart first, with Malice not far behind. Silence and Hex are complete wild cards until we find out from their POVs what happened the day of their wedding in Faere. And when they realize how everything seemed to Ali, they make a real effort to mend the rift. A quote that describes it perfectly, "I can't change the past. I can only do my best to fix our future." As always, I adore that the author gives us multiple epilogues to see things from each character's POV as their HEA comes to fruition. Don't ever stop doing that!! Excited to see more stories from the other monsters!
Absolutely FREAKING loved this book. Delicious ♥️Monster♥️Smut
We get Aline, the fae princess’s story this time around. And the author does a fab job of weaving old characters as well as diving a bit deeper into new ones too.
We have a kraken mate who is also half fae prince, full fae prince who is a soothsayer, a demon who devours people fears and a half orc half giant who is a gem of a dude and former horde leader in faere. WE GET ALL SORT OF MONSTER PEENS AND EGGS PEOPLE WE GET EGGS.
We get Aline’s history meshed in w the incoming mates-the author did a super job if balancing the time among all her men too.
And of course we get perfect epilogues where we get to see their brood and how they live their lives.
🚨Content warnings are always well done by this author and always at the very start of the book.🚨

Aline’s story absolutely held the same story style and overall feel as Emerson’s story in The Monster’s Den, but with very different mates and obstacles. I adore the world building in these books and highly recommend reading them all in order.
Aline is very sweet but troubled. Her past was heartbreaking, even more so when she has to face those she left behind. She’s also a total bad-ash and isn’t afraid to put people in their place when needed. She’s definitely strong fmc goals.
Her mates are all a little psycho with their own backstories that play very well into not only how they interact with Aline but also each other. They’re a drool worthy group and the spice was phenomenal between each of them and their mate!
I can’t wait to get more of this world with Nadia’s story!
If you love monster romance then this is the book for you!! I absolutely loved the first book in this series The Monsters Den and this one was no different! I so enjoyed this story from cover to cover and these monsters are 🥵🤤. This one starts out while the other one is in motion and they intertwine. Aline is a powerful fae and she’s been running from her 2 husbands since her wedding. Hex the kraken and Silence the shadow slayer/prince are the husbands bound and determined to find their wife. Atlas is the orc/giant who has been working with Aline and just wants to get closer to her. Then there is is Malice, the nightmare demon who worships her. I can’t praise this book enough and I can’t wait to read the next one!🖤
Aline’s origin story is heartbreaking, but her men come right in and build her up. Even her complicated relationship with her two husbands is heartbreaking but sweet.
This story also represents for the women who have infertility issues and it’s done in a great way… obviously in a fantasy way as well… but it really was beautifully done.
Anything Jillian West puts out I will read. I love her omegaverse and while she is just going into more PNR Monster I find that this is really just a genre of romance she is going to excel at. I love this world that she has built and I really love seeing the gang fro the first book in this series just consistently showing up! In this we have a nightmare demon with shadows (YES!!!), a fae Kraken prince, another fae prince, and a half orc/giant!!! What else could you want! This also deals with a heavier topic of infertility due to backlash. Our FMC face backlash due to an event that happens in the beginning of the book that we are told about and even witness. Reading this makes me really want to go back and read The monsters den all over again and then this one. It will be a book that I will have in my phsyical collection so i can always remember it when i see it and reread it when I feel like I need a comfort read!
Oh, Ali is one of my favorites in this world. She was lost, hurt, alone, and running from her past when it all caught up to her. Watching her build her pack and forgive her husband's was so beautiful to read. Love this book.
I love everything jillian writes and the monster’s wife went beyond my expectations. This was a lovely read - as are all of her other works. Ali has shot up to the top of the list for favorite FMCs and her men… LAWD 🥵
I was nervous going into this book because the last one was not my cup of tea, but I am glad I checked this one out.
I enjoyed this book. There was more of a build up and backstory to each relationship which made them feel more emotional than just instinct driven lust. Each of the men felt different with their own personalities and struggles to overcome.
One of the aspects I liked the most about this book was the heroine, Aline. She was interesting and had her own unique backstory with external and internal struggles she had to face throughout the story. She was more fleshed out as a character than Emerson, in my opinion, which was one of my main issues with the last book.
You get a little of everything with this group, all of them are a bit unhinged but thats what makes them fun.
The first book was amazing but I just wanted to slap the mc she lives and breaths trauma 😔 she assumed her husband's didn't want her even though she never even talked to them she ran for 20+ years strung along the orc for 3 years and then when her husband's show up she acts like the wounded party and had everyone ready to fight she's just annoying... going to skip through because the woo-woo is boring hoping book 3 is better
Jillian always knows how to give me the perfect blend of freaky deeky spice but still make it super sweet and adorable.
OK so we don't get any grovelling really so much as we really discover what went down but I still feel like the guys made reasonable strides to making amends and proving themselves.
TW for anyone sensitive to fertility issues as this is a main theme that Aline struggles with, and a lot of her inner monologue is very emotional.
MALICE !!! Fave mate hands down, his comments and interactions with everyone he comes into contact with had me cackling. 𝐈 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐲 𝐣𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬. 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.”
My Review Overall: ⭐ 4.5/5 Plot: ★★★★★ Female mc: ★★★★★ Male mcs: ★★★★★ Side Characters: ★★★★☆
════════════════════════════ "From here on out, I’ll walk at your side, fighting beside you, because I have faith that, together, we can tackle anything.” —Silence ════════════════════════════ Second Chance | Paranormal Romance | Reverse Harem
This is the eighth Jillian book I’ve read across her series, and I can already say that A Monstrous World is my absolute favorite of her works. It’s actually a little surprising, because A Monstrous World was Jillian’s first venture into the paranormal genre, but I feel her writing here is stronger, and the story depth is far more complex compared to her other books.
While reading this, I never felt like anything was missing or unbalanced, which is something I occasionally noticed in some of her other works. The scenes between each of the mates are very well balanced; I never felt like any of them were left out. The conflict is heavier and has more depth, but as always, Jillian writes it in her own special way, making us feel so many emotions while still keeping the story light and enjoyable to read. I had so much fun and genuinely enjoyed the entire story.
My favorite character is definitely our FMC, Aline. She’s my favorite FMC out of all of Jillian’s works. Aline is intelligent, badass, so strong, brave, independent, yet still warm. She knows when she needs help and isn’t afraid to accept it; she’s not stubborn. I love how balanced her character is.
“Leave me be. I won’t give grace the next time my friends and family are attacked. Forget I exist. Claim you murdered me after I killed the High Chancellor. I don’t care. But I’m going home and focusing on my future. Anyone who stands in the way of that won’t like the outcome.” —Aline
Hex and Silence are Aline’s soulmates, while Atlan and Malice are her chosen bonds. None of the characters in this book are perfect, hey have moments of misunderstanding and misjudgment, but what I really appreciate is that they acknowledge their mistakes and are willing to apologize. We get to see real character development, growth in understanding, and genuine compromise.
“You’re my fucking soulmate. The gods only give us that gift once per long lifetime. I couldn’t care less if we spend our days fucking and napping and simply enjoying our bond. Children will come or they won’t. The only thing I’m positive I need in my never-ending fucking existence is you.” —Silence
And of course, my favorite part of the story is the epilogues. They’re so warm and beautiful. I love seeing the story years later, watching their children grow up and seeing how mischievous they are with one another. Seeing their happy family Aline, Atlan, Hex, Silence, Malice, and their children was incredibly precious. Their bond and connection mean so much.
One thing I especially love about Jillian’s work is that even though each child has their own biological father, they are all equally loved and belong to all of them. It’s also adorable that the daughters are the mischievous troublemakers, while the sons are the sweet, innocent ones.
“Those babies will be as much mine as they are his. Sure, it’s a genetic impossibility at this point, but any child Ali carries will be mine.” —Silence
Overall, I absolutely recommend this book, and this series. It might feel a bit strange if you’re not used to reading reverse harem stories or books where the characters are monsters, but it’s completely worth it. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Highly recommended!

This book focused on the fae courts and fae politics. I found it confusing: seelie, unseelie, spring court... What?
The main trope here is miscommunication, which I don't love, but it's well done in the sense that you could see how it all happened, and it doesn't feel trivial. There were enough surrounding circumstances that made the miscommunication believable.
Still, the question why Hex and Silence didn't try to get to know Aline before the wedding or tell her how they felt about being her fated mates is never answered. This is a pretty big plot hole. Sure, they had reasons for looking so unhappy on their wedding day, but what about before the wedding? Aline says they never made any effort to get to know her.
The issue of Aline's magic is also never settled. What does her magic do and why is it considered so powerful that it's dangerous? What's so bad about it? She healed her sister, that doesn't sound like a bad thing. I was confused throughout the story because Aline's magic is the focus of why she's in hiding, but it was never properly explained.
I loved that Atlas wooed Aline for three years and watched over her, and that Malice was able to take away her pain. I also loved the devotion of Silence and Hex .
However, again the world-building was weird and skimmed over, because how can Aline not know what would happen when she slept with men other than her mates? Shouldn't that be basic knowledge for all of the fae? You should know your own species' customs and how matings work. It didn't make sense to me that she was unaware.
The truth about her situation was a bit anticlimactic, as was the confrontation at the end . And the fact that five years had passed but the conspirators hadn't acted again, what were they waiting for?? That didn't make sense either.
I didn't feel I really got to know Silence or Hex. Particularly Silence. He felt kinda constipated. And Hex, it's unclear why he had not allowed his monster (the kraken) out for so long. Again, the lack of backstory and world-building. But it was refreshing that two of the men were virgins, although it really didn't seem to make much difference when they got down to the sexing.
There were also side stories about Laz, Vivie, and Saber -- and Chastity, Bane, and the wyvern, which were so skimmed over that they were confusing. In the end did Vivie and Saber get together? Did Chastity and Bane? If both Saber and Bane thought Vivie and Chastity were their mate respectively, why didn't they tell them? How did both couples fix their misunderstandings? It doesn't look like any of the future books are about them, so the outcome should have been much clearer in this book.
I found this book a somewhat dissatisfying read. Aline never has a proper conversation with Silence and Hex. It's just bits and pieces here and there. There didn't seem to be any proper closure or working through their misunderstandings and hurt. Instead of them explaining things to her, she got part of the info by seeing Silence's memories -- and not because he wanted to share them with her, but because Malice was feeding on Silence's pain (to shore up his strength to save the three of them) and Malice let Aline see those memories play out like a movie in Silence's mind. I was not hot on the lack of consent on Silence's part for this sharing of memories and pain.
I wanted to see Hex and Silence cuddle Aline and comfort her to make up for the pain she'd suffered -- and for her to do the same for them. And for them to apologise to each other and explain how they each had felt about the mate bond. Like, how Hex's monster had scented her and instantly became a goner. I wanted the emotional intimacy... but once again, it seemed to be mostly about the sex, especially because of Aline's "quickening" (like going into heat). It was a disappointing read.
This was pretty close to a 5-star for me. There were two things that made it 4 stars. 1. It was ALL about babies/pregnancy/infertility. Literally all the females were getting pregnant, and the FMC, Ali, was always upset about how she couldn't have kids. I understand infertility, on a personal level. But it was pretty unbelievable how EVERYONE was getting pregnant at the same time. It lost its spark. 2. Ali was a BA at first, then became pretty pathetic, and at the end, she wasn't really a BA either (even though the climax was supposed to be her being a scary BA). She spent most of the book being a booby mess. Which sucked.
But aside from those two things, I really did enjoy it. The guys were all super protective, loving, and supportive. It was kind of a bummer that none of them really did the whole courting thing with gifts, but they were all there for her, and I enjoyed each of their powers and forms.
The Characters Malice is a nightmare who feeds off of people's misdeeds, nightmares, etc. He has been visiting Ali in her dreams/nightmares for years, keeping her safe from them. I loved how he's a demon that wants to be better because he loves her and even finds a way to bond with the other guys and be a packmate. He's funny, loving, and is even good with kids. He was my favorite MMC of the bunch.
Atlas is a half-orc half-giant who was turned down by his mate in his tribe due to his giant heritage. He goes to the human realm to start a new life and meets Ali. Ali is He spends the next three years just loving being in her presence and He's my close second or maybe even shares first place with Malice. He tells Ali over and over that he has her back and she'll never be alone again.
Silence is a fae prince from the Spring Court. He was kind of set up with Ali. They met at a meeting thing, and that's how he found out she was his fated mate, along with Hex. The two of them are parated from her when a bunch of stuff happens, and he spends decades searching for her. He has a lot of resentment and anger towards her, but he forgives her more when he gets to feel things from her perspective. He's a nice enough guy, just doesn't really do much.
Hex is the Kraken, well, it's like his human form and kraken form are two in one. The kraken sees what Ali needs and is able to make her feel safe, while the human, Hex, takes a little longer to get on the same page. He's obsessed with her. The way krakens mate and impregnate in this one is pretty interesting, and it goes over it in detail.
Ali is a fae princess who saves her sister's life and is on the run from the fae court that thinks her power is an abomination. She's pretty BA at the beginning, but as more guys enter the picture, the softer she gets. She has a one-track mind and all she thinks about is getting knocked up.
The Plot Kind of hard to give the plot without giving key details. Basically: Ali saves her sister, runs from the court that wants to kill her, mates with an orc/giant and nightmare, is found by her fated mates, runs a sex club, mates with her mates, and____.
The Romance Truthfully, there isn't a whole lot of romance. There's a whole lot of sex, but not a whole lot of romance. Atlas is there first, and there is some romance between the two of them. There's sort of some with Malice, but not really. Basically, just a whole lot of boning and breeding. If you aren't into the breeding kink, then you definitely want to stay away from this one.
Triggers Attempted murder of a pregnant woman (twice) Murder Assault Kidnapping children Threats of rape in a memory Poisoning Voyeurism (consent) Breeding kinks Harsh sex (consensual) Painful sex (consensual) I think that's it
I’m so happy to be back in this world because it’s just always getting better 🙌🏻 I loved getting little peeks into what was going on with Emerson’s guys behind some of the scenes from the 1st book, and after the events that took place at the end. I also loved seeing so many wonderful side characters that are just begging to have their stories told (hint hint 😉😝). As for Aline/Ali & her guys….whewww 🔥🔥🔥 Ali had been on the run from her past for a long time, but her past & present are about to decide her future. Thank goodness she has 4 mates willing to fight for, & with, her. Atlas might be part Orc & part giant, but he is 💯% a marshmallow when it comes to his flame. He is the epitome of knowing his strengths, but not having to throw his weight around to gain respect. And the way he supported Ali during this book….I mean, no one could ask for a better mate, and he is EXACTLY what she needed. Malice is absolutely delicious & mischievous. He may be a nightmare demon, but one person’s nightmare is another’s dream 😈 The way he would do anything for Ali, and the depths he would go to so that any pain & distress was taken from her if he had any say in it. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling whenever he was in a scene 😍 And jeesh, I was not prepared for that little surprise in Chapter 13 🫣😈 I may have squealed a bit 😝😂 As for Hex & Silence….after the little bit at the end of book 1, I wasn’t sure how I felt about them. They seemed liked entitled spoiled brats, but just like Ali, I was so wrong about them. I felt so bad for the pain & torture they endured because of their physical & emotional distance from her. Watching the 3 of them come together on the other side of all that pain, after suffering for so long, was just so sweet & touching to experience. Seeing Ali find the way to her HEA was an amazing emotional roller coaster full of second chances, forgiveness, action, mystery, humor, spice, passion, off the charts chemistry, and deep unconditional love worth fighting for. I’m so excited for Nadia’s story, especially with all the little hints & teasers throughout this book 🥰 I can tell it’s gonna be sooooo good, and I can’t wait to learn more about Malice’s friends 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Oh, and can we talk about how yummy this would be in audiobook form? With Silence’s “English” accent, and Hex’s “Scottish” one. I’m just waiting for the day I hear it’s finally available lol.
Overall: 4 of 5 Romance: 4 of 5 Smut quality: 4.5 of 5 Smut quantity: med-high Reading Anxiety: No Growl count: 27 F/M/M/M/M
------
She is haunted by the consequences of her magic. They are irrevocably drawn to her.
Political intrigue is one aspect of this book, though it’s not the central focus. Rather, the focus is the characters evolving relationships. Not just the men and their woman, but the men in their (hetero) dynamics with each other. The men have to come to terms with sharing their fae. There aren’t too many hitches in that.
Ali is likable. She clearly cares a lot for the few people in her life. She struggles with infertility (), which may be an issue with some. It also has a lot of pregnancy talk.
I really like Atlas. He’s solid, and not just for his DNA, but he is infinitely supportive, even when it’s difficult. He’s her rock. Malice annoys me a bit. Not enough to bother me, but he does deserve some eye rolls. Hex grew on me. I’ve never been into tentacles, but I can see the appeal. He and Silence have dealt with a lot over the last two decades. They warmed up on me before long. The initial impression was horrid though.
I liked seeing them work to overcome their hurts and come together. It was sweet. It comes to a tidy little HEA.
There was no shortage on spice. There is no M/M . Group scenes are included. And with a Growl Count of 27, I don’t think anyone can complain. Grrr indeed.
I do feel that I could have enjoyed this story more had there been more development. More character development, and more relationship development. It was a good read overall!
