*Fabienne was first introduced in The Laplanche Boys* Fabienne has had too many negative experiences with women to ever want to be in another relationship. Linking up and having fun is the kind of time that he's on, and he's not interested in changing that. Even if he meets someone that he likes, Fabienne will entertain them until things start to get too heavy. His main focus is on saving his money and attempting to leave the game, so he can show his mother that she can be proud of him and his endeavors. When life begins to take a lot of unexpected twists and turns, all of Fabienne's plans are derailed and life gets shaken up. The way he deals with stress isn't the best and he soon learns that he may be digging a hole for himself that he can't climb out of.
Havanna has no time for F boys. She has a career that she loves, an amazing daughter, and her life is stress free. Always one for a good time even if it doesn't last a long time, a hook up in Vegas goes further than she anticipates, and Havanna has a decision to make. One that she just might end up regretting but a tattooed, muscular good time is too much temptation for her to resist. Will Havanna get the happily ever after that her best friend Gia wants for her, or will she realize that fairytale romances aren't in the cards for her?
I was living Fabienne until the foolishness with his sister and his mini argument with Havanna . I was about to say I liked him more than Azon but that cheating and being unsafe changed my mind quickly. I’m not sure he deserved a happily ever after.
Fabienne and Havanna have both been burnt by love, so they decided that situationships with no expectations works better for them. I mean, it did work until they both caught feelings and made the decision to enter into a relationship. Let’s just say, old habits die slow and they both struggled with letting those habits go, compromising and trusting each other. The shit is a recipe for disaster and they both needed therapy before they made this bold decision. I love me some Havanna tho!!! She’s a single mom who has her shit together and isn’t afraid to assert boundaries? Yes, she is a queen in my eyes!!! The jury is still out on Fabienne because he has some bitch tendencies and the decisions he makes just don’t add up to the man he portrays . I wanted to bitch slap him a few times because you know, bitch tendencies. I got excited thinking that two commitment phobes trying to navigate a relationship together were gonna give me life, but I was disappointed. The story was full of unnecessary dialogue that took away from me seeing the couple’s relationship develop on page. Too much time was spent on storylines that took my attention away from the couple and I lost interest. If I’m keeping it a buck, I don’t feel like Fabienne deserved a second chance. His reasoning is flawed and it just made Havanna settle and look like a sucker going against her beliefs. Good dick or not, my sis came off as a sucker and ion like that! Overall, I didn’t vibe well with this book at all. Hopefully another book from the author will treat me better.
This author is always a hit or miss for me. This one was a miss, I got to 74% and just gave up. I went to the end and started reading backwards a little lol. Nothing happened in this story, well nothing exciting. You had two ppl that needs healing running around not wanting to be in a relationship due to past experiences. Aside from the two main characters just constantly having sex, and all Havana’s exes popping up back to back (it seems) nothing happened. I mean after 74% they finally got together, but by this time I had skipped so many pages and was over the couple. I hate when the characters spend so much time fighting there feelings just to finally get together in over half the book, then you already know something gone happen where they break up again; now for another good part of the rest of the story they not gone be together again. Then right at the end they get back together and we done missed out on the growth of the relationship. It makes no sense to do this in stories. Reading the end let me know that’s basically what exactly happened. So I’m no longer interested.
I love this series. Fabienne and Havanna didn't want to be in a relationship because of their trust issues. I think Fabienne lost himself when his mama passed. It was just too much for him to take sexing, alcohol, beat up folks it all came from anger. It was good include an up date with Gia and Azon. Fabienne waited Jeanie to tell him she was pregnant. He lost his ish when she told him who she was pregnant by. Havanna stood on what she said. She started second guessing herself about the halloween costume. One minute she wanted him to be there with her, next minute she was angry with him the next. She was thinking that could have been her and Fabienne at the shower. She truly felt sorry when it got shot. Jeanie shot Manny because she got tired of him putting his hands on her. For Fabienne to say he wasn't going cheat and lie to Havanna anymore and to put that on his mama, he is so serious.
Whew what a story! I loved the ending. The women were strong and self sufficient, as were the men! Fabienne just needed to find his one and only! Havana played no games, she was upfront with Fabienne! Their relationship should have come from a place of give and take, but they were new to each other, hence Havanna shoukd.have been grape trio of Fabienne feeling and he could have have expressed hi.self better! Gia and Azon were so good together and A good example to their friends!
The Laplanche boys were as thick as thieves and they were always there to support each other. Fabienne and Havanna both had sworn off relationships due to the fact that they had been burned by relationships in the past. Although they decided to give it a try, Fabienne messed it up with his community relations. After getting burned several times, he realized that he lost the best thing that he ever had with Havanna. Manny got just what he deserved. Azon and Gia were so cute together. Fabienne got Havanna back and I can’t wait to see what Islande brings.
This is the 2nd or 3rd book I’ve read by this NTMA and I’m enjoying making my way through her catalog. She’s a skilled writer and her writing style captured my attention from the first page. Her ability to craft an interesting well written story is top notch. The book was interesting until 90% or so; after which, the storyline progressed at an accelerated pace and the ending seemed rushed and a bit haphazard.
Nonetheless, I like her style and look forward to checking her other books.
Havanna and Fabienne had been hurt to much in their past, that they didn’t trust anyone. Their connection was strong and they wasn’t use to it. Fabienne made a huge mistake and he had so many emotions that he didn’t know how to deal with them. But I’m happy that they are starting over with a fresh start. Now we need to see what Islande gone do next !
This book had the drama, secrets, and lies which kept you intrigued to find out the ending. I loved how each character came alive as they went through certain situations. A lot of issues could have been avoid if they had better communication as well as Fabian learning how to cope with his anger, frustration in a better way than to just trying to drown it out. Would live to read more on these characters.
This was a great read with just the right mix of drama, real-life struggles, and romance. Fabienne’s journey pulled me in—watching him try to leave the game and become better for his mom was powerful. Havanna was strong, independent, and relatable, and their chemistry was undeniable. Their story had twists, tough choices, and emotional moments that kept me hooked from start to finish.
Those Laplanche men have me wanting to give Caribbean men another try lol
Fabienne and Havanna definitely were a perfect match in many ways. Getting an update on Azon and Gia was amazing too. My heart aches for Fabienne but he definitely had some toxic ways about him. Havanna is what every woman should strive to be and I love the sisterhood between her and Gia.
Fabienne should've groveled more than that! His ass went 3 days before he even popped up at her house. I'm glad she said they'll date instead jumping back into a relationship with him. And she didn't return the "I love you". 😏
All in all it was a good book. And I'm happy Azon and Gia got their happily ever after ❤️
If you thought Azon (book 1 in this series) was good, then you must read Fabienne. I loved the strong woman that Havannah is and she refused to settle just to say she had a man in her life. Fabienne went through a lot and he did a lot but in the end he humbled himself. Can’t wait to read Islande’s story.
It's definitely worth the read. Fabienne is with the s****. Two people who don't trust the opposite sex. Try to commit to each other. Havanna and Fabienne are met to be, but can they trust each other enough not to mess it up. This book is full of surprises. You don't want to miss out on this couple here. It's absolutely a pleasure reading your books 🥰.

Whew, Fabienne had the worst luck with the ladies! Havana was his speed but she was also quick to drop a man! I love her perspective. Azon and Gia are still going strong. I hope we get a book on Islande next!
Exceptional storyline about trust, loyalty, and disrespect when in relationship with a mate!!! The thing I liked about Fabienne is that he was always honest, until he got that liquid courage/stupid juice in him. Waiting on the next one, Islande!!!
Great read ! Glad to see Azon and Gia still doing good. Fabienne and Havana were a good couple until Fabienne started all that drinking. I don't blame Havana but Glad they working on it. Can't wait to see what's next!
This story show that no matter the gender any one can be burned. But what I like about this story chemistry and trying. Then I hate it takes tragedy to get maturity but sometimes it takes that
