A deadly female assassin, four brutally tempting hitmen, and a dark conspiracy that could end them all.
I'm the girl you'll never see coming. Blink and you're dead, another target checked off my list.
Until one night my carefully ordered existence falls apart. A bloodbath and a car crash later, I find myself in the grasp of four gorgeous, intimidating men.
My captors claim they're holding me for my protection. I can't quite believe that.
Even if seeing how skillfully they handle their weapons makes me wonder what their hands would feel like all over me.
I have vengeance to wreak, and no man, no matter how powerful, is going to keep me caged for long.
They think they've caught a wounded little mouse. How could they know they've brought a killer into their home?
But the more I fight for freedom, the more I realize my entire life has been a cage of horrific lies.
What if these brutally tempting men are the answer to my problems rather than the cause of them?
We might just burn down the world together.

The heroine:Dessima (a.k.a. Dess) - she lives and trains in a large house with a bunch of people, most of whom she has never met. They told her that her parents have been taken after her birth by the bad people. The household would protect her from that happening to her. They give her missions, and she is an assassin. She figures the world is a dangerous place and the only way to get out alive, is to be the most dangerous. Aside from when she is on a mission, she is not allowed beyond the boundaries of her room which is hidden behind a bookcase. Though one night the enemy comes to her house, and she is let out of her room to escape. She finds a bunch of people in the house, all brutally massacred. She gets away alive and plans on taking revenge on whomever killed everyone.
The Heroes:Julius, Talon, Blaze, and Garrison - They were The Chaos Crew. A group of mercenaries and assassins. Julius - He is the leader of the crew, and nobody ever questioned him, it is what made them so good at what they did. Talon - he is the muscle. He has a finely honed body for the type of work they do and he is former military. Blaze - he is a computer whiz, could never sit still, mind always in motion, focusing in on all the details for their missions. Garrison - he lays the groundwork for the missions; he is the youngest and newest to the crew. He has a weak stomach but is a social chameleon that could get their players into position at the start of a mission or find out information that Blaze couldn’t get with his impressive hacking skills.
The Story: The Chaos Crew were hired to massacre everyone in the mansion. They are watching video of the mansion to make sure nobody got out of the house when they see Dess outside the place. The crew didn’t like the fact that they missed something, so they decide to follow the girl. They see her hot wire a car in seconds and immediately thought she must have come from the mansion, so they figure she is a loose end that they need to take care of, but they decide to grab her and find out how she was involved.
The guys knocked Dess out and brought her back with them and they were surprised to find her very muscular, obviously she worked out regularly for years for a body like that. What was more surprising were the scars covering her stomach and back and a tattoo at the base of her skull. When she wakes, they question her fully, getting her guard up. The guys don’t know what to think about her. The writing could have been a little better, I found myself getting a bit bored at times. One thing I really disliked was the fact that the guys told Dess that they were cops and she believed them for quite a long time, despite the fact that they didn’t at all act like cops and they never went in to any police station to work. She looked like an idiot for believing that they were just cops that played fast and loose with the law.
This audiobook was in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Vanessa Moyen and Stephen Dexter. I like Vanessa Moyen’s soft, feminine voice, she is great to listen and the only thing I don’t like about her is that after a while she talks so fast that I have to keep checking that I didn’t mistakenly turn up the narration speed. Stephen Dexter is one of my top 10 male narrators. I like his voice quite a bit and can listen to him anytime. He is also great at doing different voices for different characters.
I absolutely adore this series. So many twists and turns keep you guessing what will happen next and it being interconnected with other books makes it so that characters randomly pop up to make things interesting. I listened to the audio for this and the narrators are fantastic and I highly recommend giving it a listen.
DNF at 492. It gets 2 stars because I got about halfway through, and I enjoyed enough of that half to say that it's a decent book. But the full set is over 1000 pages. And if I'm bored halfway through, I don't feel the need to continue on, personally. Not bad, just no longer for me.
Book one, "Killer Beauty," serves as an intriguing introduction to the Chaos Crew, comprising Julius, Talon, Blaze, and Garrison—mercenaries who adhere to their own moral compass amidst their lethal skills. Dess, raised as a formidable assassin in seclusion, unknowingly embodies innocence and vulnerability due to her sheltered upbringing. As the crew's clandestine encounter with Dess unfolds, they unite to unveil truths while safeguarding their own secrets. This initial installment is predominantly an action-packed mystery with nuanced elements of sexual tension, tastefully depicted to align with the emotionally restrained nature of these hardened killers. Expectations of fervent romance or fixation are subtly subdued, appealing to readers seeking a narrative beyond incessant erotica.
In book two, "Killer Lies," the narrative seamlessly resumes from its predecessor's cliffhanger, delving deeper into Dess's enigmatic past. The integration of Dess into the crew catalyzes irreversible shifts in dynamics, compelling each assassin to confront evolving emotions amidst their quest for answers and survival. While tension and passion intensify, they remain complementary to the overarching mystery, ensuring a balanced narrative that transcends mere titillation.
"Killer Heart," the third installment, further unravels Dess's identity against a backdrop of unresolved inquiries and newfound familial complexities. As emotional bonds strengthen within the crew, Dess grapples with conflicting loyalties and confronts the realities she once evaded. Here, the narrative delicately explores the sacrifices and tender connections forged amidst the chaos, elevating the series beyond its initial intrigue.
In "Killer Reign," the series crescendos with heightened stakes and revelations, culminating in a climactic showdown against unseen adversaries. Dess confronts the manipulative forces that shaped her, propelling her towards a reckoning that tests her resolve and loyalty. The series culminates in a gratifying resolution, showcasing character growth and resilience amidst relentless challenges.
The Chaos Crew box set offers a riveting blend of action and mystery enriched by well-paced character development, particularly Dess's evolution from naivety to agency. The authors' restraint in prioritizing relationships over plot twists and revelations ensures a narrative that remains refreshingly multifaceted. With its deft handling of themes such as strength, patience, and trust, this series earns a solid four-star rating, appealing to readers seeking depth within the realm of suspenseful storytelling.
I enjoyed this a lot, personally. I felt like the character development and back stories of each MC was done well. I’m a huge fan of strong FMCs personally, so I really liked Decima, her demeanor, and personality throughout this collection. The male MCs were probably some of my fave I’ve ever read about in a book/series personally. A lot of times with reverse harems we see that they treat the FMC terribly in the beginning, some we don’t know how/if they’ll ever be redeemed. But that wasn’t the case in this collection, and I personally preferred it. I liked that they had an actual reason to be suspicious in the beginning, and that they developed a kinship and companionship somewhat early on. Now, I do wish there had been a bit more romantic/sexual tension within their romance/friendship in the beginning, but that’s definitely not a dealbreaker for me. I enjoyed the morally grey aspect of their personalities, this was ACTUALLY morally grey, and not someone “claiming” morally grey. They repeatedly talked about the fact that they’re assassins, but that they have a code, and they don’t kill people who don’t “deserve” it. I enjoyed that they made Decima seem relatable. She’d been kidnapped and brainwashed her entire life, she had a hard time adjusting to the changes, but not too hard of a time because she’s resilient and has the ability to think critically, which tracks considering she’d been raised as an assassin. (Can keep her feelings out of the way as needed, deal with them accordingly, take in new information, judge critically, take action and move forward) So that was definitely a huge win for me in terms of character development. I do also love the little bit where all the boys admit they love her, but that she wasn’t ready to say it back. I’m glad they gave the FMC a backbone to be able to admit that she’s not ready to say it and that she’s still learning about what love and family really is/should be. I think it was a bit corny when the author made her admit to her love to each of them in front of everyone, one by one. “I love you Talon because… *smooch*”, “I love you Julius because… *smooch*”, “I love you Blaze because… *smooch*”, “I love you Garrison because… *smooch*”. Not my favorite way to someone confess their loved, but it was still cute, just corny lol.
I enjoyed the plot, the thrill, and the mystery. It was a little slow at times, but not unrealistically slow. I don’t know how satisfied I was with the entirety of the plot itself, but I enjoyed the HEA, and the resolution. It tied up all the loose ends, and answered all the questions I had in terms of the plot.
Overall, a good adventure and I the found-family concept.

The chaos crew was a pretty interesting story set up. from a young girl trained in insolation to be a deadly assassin since toddler years, to a crew that only accepts hits for criminals to unalive them chaoticly as possible. each character in the main gang also seems to have some kind of traumaitc past from childhood or early adulthood/late teen years. it was an interesting transition from them taking her hostage just to make sure she's not a lloose end from their latest job, to them falling for her and doing all they can to help her find answers about who she actually is, who originally took her when she was a toddler, to why and all that. what is a bit amusing throughout the series is the guys often forgetting (except well talon i guess) that dess isnt always gonna understand some 'social norms'. for example when they get shocked and upset when they find out she's gotten with each of them and she's confused why its a big deal. or when she's asked what makes her 'happy' and she struggles to think of answers. though for some critque? (possible spoilers) - - - i do feel in places throughout the entire story, that some parts went by a bit fast. like book 1 had the best pacing out of the entire series, but book 2 and 3 had a lot going on that flew by if that makes sense. some parts i wish were slowed down a bit more so we couldve gotten more of an insight for, like with dess's bio-family. we really only kinda saw her interact with her mom, dad and occasionally grandmother or brother. it wouldve been interesting if, before she found out about their dark secrets, we couldve seen her interact more with both her brother and cousin margret, maybe her aunts/uncles too. also some things seemed forgotten to fast too, like 'viper' seemed to be forgotten after mid way into book 1 until the end of book 3. another thing i wanna note, is i would've liked to see the guys interacting among themselves more, out side of the normal pair ups. like we see talon and julius interact one on one, and garrison and blaze at times but i dont really recall like many to any one on one interactions outside of that unless its with dess.
Reading it entirely as one book is why I gave it 5 stars and because I love multiple POVs. The first two books are primarily set up. The first book kept you on your toes, waiting to find out if the crew or Dess figured each other out first. The second book’s plot twist I completely saw coming so I wasn’t entirely impressed. However, the plot twists in the third book were fucking CRAZY. I was so shocked by her family’s background and the whole Blood Hunter thing. The fourth book was just a very satisfying end to the series.
I did enjoy the spice— because why can’t this badass bitch have 4 men? But I felt the scenes were short and to the point.
I loved how each man had character growth because of Dess and how they each said they loved her in their own timing. I also loved how Dess was not in a rush to say it back because she had her own character development to do & was putting herself & discovering her identity first. I really liked Dess as a character, her being the best assassin and then becoming the boss was so satisfying.
KILLER BEAUTY Dess is strong she’s been conditioned that way to do the dirty work of the syndicate who stole her away from her parents when she was very young. The interaction with her and the guys was great especially Talon and I’m looking forward to finding answers in book two. The narration by Vanessa and Stephen was perfect .
KILLER LIES Dess starts to form bonds with all the guys in this book. She also starts to look into who her parents were and what she finds out shocks her to the core. With bounties on their heads can they get to the bottom of everything without losing anyone . Looking forward to the next book.
KILLER HEART Dessima finds out Damian Mallick is her father and they have a family legacy . When she finds out what her family have been doing for over 100 years she’s livid .
KILLER REIGN I get a little sad when a series I love comes to an end . The conclusion was epic I really loved how things turned out and Dessima and the guys get their HEA.
“Not all families mean well. Every villain is part of a family.”
This series was a lot better than I thought it would be. I always expecting a straight smut book, but the story was very engaging! It wasn’t just a smutty reverse harem, but a good mystery and awesome thriller! The characters were enjoyable and I really enjoyed their journey together. But by the last book I had almost completely lost interest, which sucked because the Blood Hunter was a great plot development! I was just kind of over the group at that point and I didn’t care any more. It’s still a good story and the romance is good, albeit rushed. But it’s too long. The ending was really good though! I liked how everything tied together, even though it raised a lot of questions… All in all, the story was.. okay. Maybe if I had read the books individually instead of as a collection like this I wouldn’t have lost interest. But we’ll never know. Shrug.
The tricky thing about writing non monogamous relationships is you have to be able to write each individual person and somehow make it an amicable group and also highlighting each of them in the story. Eva & Harlow did an amazing job at doing exactly that.
I’ve read books about normal 2 person couples, and sometimes even those authors have trouble writing about the history of those characters and why they are the way they are. Plus interests, hobbies, how they work, what their personality is like, etc. These are all important factors to go into making a character and having people love them.
This book portrays every character and their role perfectly! I fell in love with Decima and the Chaos Crew because I felt like I knew who they were as people, and how they operated. Plus the back stories into each of their childhoods was amazing and such an important part of the story.
This dynamic was just 😚🤌🏻 nothing else I can say!🫶🏻
It was the most fun book I have read in a while, although the last book was quite a bit of a drag. One thing about this book is that they didn't make the FMC into a weak, no personality girl after she joined the crew, instead she retained her character persona.
I feel most reverse harem loose the individuality between the FMC's relation with each of the guys, but Dess's connection with the crew was distinctive and they did develop a bond before just straight up getting into a relationship and that something I love about the book.
Each book introduces a new revelation, elevating the series beyond its initial intrigue. Cause most such books have the same problem like a stalker or past family murder guy after the FMC and the guys chasing after them and protecting her. So that is a huge plus for me.
I absolutely LOVED this series of four books, from beginning to end. Although the beginning was just a little slow, it grew into something greater than what to first few pages had showed. The fighting, the love that Decima had been able to grow into and accept with her whole being, the four men who stood by her side through thick and thin? It was absolutely astonishing to read and watch as the once complicated story had unfolded into pure chaos and love. The perfect mix. I never wanted this series to end nor did I even want to put it down. It’s sad now that it had come to an end, but this has turned into one of the best choices in books that I had ever read. It’s astounding and such a great book to read. Highly HIGHLY recommend!!
This is the bind-up of the four books. I liked some of the books more than others but I wasn't keeping track of what was what.
This is a reverse harem book about assassins and mercenaries. There are a lot of fighting scenes, I would check the triggers first because it does go into human trafficking in them, I think in the third and fourth books (not 100% sure, they blended together). As for spice, there is a bit, though I would say it isn't as prominent as the fighting scenes and missions they go on. If you like romantic tension in the books you read, there isn't that much tension in this one. They get together pretty quickly.
Overall I thought it was in interesting story with some twisted and turns that kept me interested.
Add one damsel and a few hot guys all with secrets and get a hot fun read. It was fun and entertaining as these poor souls slowly learn about each other. A touch of mystery and suspense and secrets to be had by all. Kept me reading to figure out what was going on. It was an awesome read and so entertaining with all the action, danger, surprises and the ending. I enjoyed watching Dess come into her own and how she and her boys got closer and learned to work so well together. Glued to the end to see how it would all play out and just how Dess would come out on top. And how they would beat the bad guy. Loved it.
OH MY GOD. Twenty eight hours of audio books, seven months, and four books later here I am.
I have to say, I really enjoyed these audiobooks. It was easy to come back to now and again, and I barely had to remember plot to be sucked in. Every one of the boys are perfect, but I’m partial to Blaze and Garrison, and Des is a bad bad bitch!! I’m sad it’s over :( what am I gonna clean to now?
Also, there needed to be THREE TIMES as much smut as there was. Not even CLOSE to enough!!
Though overall, I really enjoyed this series and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good reverse harem (bc lord knows mama does ;))
I listened to this on audible over a couple of work weeks so I probably didn't get as into it as I could have, but I did enjoy it. I think this might be information heavy enough that it's best to binge it, I own the series and will definitely revisit. It's a very deep plot and there were some connections I missed.
The characters were great but I didn't care for the narrators, I read enough on page to appreciate them though. It's a rough series and the shadows are pretty dark. I was happy to see it all work out and I had to smile with the ending, these guys are sweethearts. 🖤
I got to the third book and decided that I'm not going to keep wasting my time. The first two book were promising; the third one was only getting worse.
THERE IS NO ROMANCE!!!!! I swear there is nothing romantic happening in those books. At list to the third book. It's all focused mostly on the main female and her problems or when there is something dangerous happening but nothing more. I'm a big fun of slow burn, but there is no burn in this one. NO tension. NOTHING
3.5⭐️ I went into this book blind, and I’m really glad I did. There’s a lot about it that I wouldn’t have chosen to read (like a reverse harem set up) but the plot itself was enticing and the dynamics between the characters came across naturally. The editing could have been better in places to parse down sections, which is why I don’t rank this as a 4 star read. There’s spice that increases gradually as you get into the story but it’s not overwhelming/eclipsing the actual storyline.
3.5/5 ⭐ 🌶️🌶️/5 as far as reverse harems go, this one has all the right elements, but there was a lot of slow time in the plot, which I liked, but it was still good. I listened to the audiobook which probably added to my enjoyment.
Desima is a pretty badass character, as are the guys, Blaza ,Talon, Julius, and Garrison all hit the buttons of our trope reverse harem guys, and have their own unique parts to tell them apart , but I wasn't completely blown away by this series.
This was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. The plot twists kept me guessing, and the mix of action and heartfelt moments made the story even richer. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, and their interactions are as complex as they are compelling.
While the spice level is on the lower side, when it does heat up, it's incredibly HOT! I couldn't put this book down! The suspense and tension had me on edge the whole time.
If you have been wanting to read these books, now is the perfect time because you can just go from book to book at one time. I am in love with this world. There is just something about this world that pulls you in and does not let you go. These stories are full of mystery, heat and yup, chaos..... Once you start reading them you will not be able to stop
I love Dess and the first three books a lot, the spice was there but quick and to the point. (No spoilers) By the fourth book I enjoyed the answers I've been waiting for and also the manipulation brought by the ideas of family. I would recommend these books "book". The writing was great and the story was worth it.
3.5. This honestly was better than I thought it would be! I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this series but the plot was really good! It had a lot of twist and turns and I loved the mystery behind everything. The romance portion was ok, nothing special. But I did love the ending and reading about Dess becoming her own person and figuring out what she wanted to stand for.
A big fat no! It’s more pg13 on the murder scenes and pg on the smut scenes! Could’ve used way more and better description of any of the murders and smut. Also for the love all things stop using “sex” or “Chanel” to describe a vagina. The smut is very basic very vanilla and not very well written! If you like dark or even gray romance this is not it!
At first this book seems a bit far fetched, however the more you read and you learn about the characters and their pasts the more it makes sense. About half way through the book it finally grabbed me and all I can say is WOW- don’t give up on it!
Started really strong and I loved the premise. The plot is definitely there and the characters have chemistry. The plot does advance so far that it gets a bit convoluted and the last 2 books seemed to drag a bit. But overall a good read even if I started getting burnout towards the end.

If I could give this book 10 ⭐️ I would. This was really one of the best books I've read. It exceeded al expectations and I had really high expectations to start with. I loved this series so much and I am really sad that I finished it.
I loved this series I did read it all as one book it felt intimidating being the size but once I got into the story it was a fast read with a very thought out plot. The smut was great and I would totally recommend it.
