I had dabbled in some watercolor work a few years ago and work has kinda gotten in the way of this creative outlet. I found this jewel of a book inspirational and very easy to follow. Love this ethereal, free spirited medium.

Meh.
On the plus side, using the techniques taught in this book, one doesn't have to draw or pencil sketch anything in first, then paint. But otherwise, the flowers and techniques are really basic. I mean, REALLY basic! Example: most flowers start off with a lighter wash of the general flower's color, then just keep adding depth with darker hues.
Not what I'm looking for, and there are better how-to books out there that I'll look into.
Glad I only borrowed this from the library instead of purchasing.

Best watercolor lessons

I have a stack of books teaching watercolor flowers….but this one outshines them all. The flowers are just gorgeous, flowing and simple and bright. Just what I’ve been looking for. I’ve got both the kindle version and paper version. Can’t wait to get going and I expect I’ll be using this book as a reference book from now on. I love it!

Bianca Rosen, the creative mind behind @artbybianca. Learn how to paint gorgeous flowers like playful pansies, wildflowers, garden blooms, or tropical vibes. I had fun reading and following the easy tutorial instructions.
There are easy-to-follow illustrated instructions that break each step down into just 3-6 illustrations. Bianca’s simple, single-bloom technique is perfect for watercolor newbies. I recently recommended this book to a friend who is just starting with watercolor painting.
