Almost Happy

Rate this book
Meet Beverley: she’s timid, shy, struggles in social settings and has health problems that prevent her from living life to the full. She is, however, appreciative of the things she does have, a bond with her sister, Dina, who is so different from her, and the love of Troy, her childhood sweetheart who may be caring, but can also be controlling.

When Troy leaves her, Beverley feels free. She meets Jay, thoughtful and unlike any love she has ever felt before, and a lifetime of happiness beckons. But when Jay abandons her unexpectedly, she feels like her world has fallen apart.

Troy is never far away, and when he returns to Beverley’s life and asks for her hand in marriage, she accepts, realising that it’s better to be almost happy than not at all. But these slivers of happiness are threatened when Jay returns, bringing with him secrets that could destroy her world. A world that is so carefully held together with hope.

How can Beverley ignore the betrayal that has torn apart every fabric of her life?
How can she leave everything she loves, so she can finally be free?

Never disappointed

This author does not disappoint with her novels. The character Beverly immediately grabbed me and pulled me into her story. Bev has her own set of problems and life distractions but she is easy to identify with. Her sister Dina is selfish and has her own agenda and it was not apparent to me in the beginning. I don’t want to say anymore and ruin the surprises for the new reader.
A fantastic novel that deserves to be read by you.

I thought this book was a little slow at the beginning but it was very interesting. But it got better 1/2 way through the book. I read it in one day.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.
