God’s Prescription For Healing by James P Gills, M.D. speaks of five divine gifts of healing: Natural, Assisted, Inner, Improbable, and Ultimate.

Right up front, I will state that I am a conservative Christian plus I DO read just about any book on cooking, food, diet and healing, so this was a natural for me.

Part 1: Natural Healing
Chapter 1 begins with intelligent design and Designer and starts off with the marvel of migrating birds… “For example, the pectoral sandpiper flies…(approximately 9,940 miles) from Tierra del Fuego in S. America and back again, every year. There is also the unexplained miracle of navigation that brings the Layson albatross home to within thirteen inches of the nest that it vacated prior to leaving for the winter.” This chapter includes an illustration of the complex cell and the DNA molecule.

The following chapters include the difference between disease and illness, the irreducible complexity, examples of design for balance, repair, and cure and the fact that we are designed for health.

Part 2: Assisted Healing
Chapters 6 & 7 covers physician-assisted healing as well as how to be our own best physician.

Part 3: Inner Healing
Chapters 8-12 cover mental alignment, managing negative emotions that are detrimental to our health, prayer, the blessed mind-set, spiritual alignment, and spiritual vs. natural.

“If we could laugh as frequently as a four-year-old, we would have the heart rate and blood pressure of a four-year-old.

Part 4: Improbable Healing
Chapters 13-15 begins with improbable healing in the Scriptures, modern examples, and how to seek improbable healing.

Part 5: Ultimate Healing
Chapters 16-18 shows that we were designed for eternity, our anointed purpose for life, and aligning ourselves to God.

“Intrinsic in every human soul is the desire to live forever…”

Very interesting! I recommend this book to anyone interested in the human body.
