A New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Elle Kennedy grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, and holds a B.A. in English from York University. From an early age, she knew she wanted to be a writer, and actively began pursuing that dream when she was a teenager.
Elle currently writes for various publishers. She loves strong heroines and sexy alpha heroes, and just enough heat and danger to keep things interesting!
I blink back the moisture coating my lashes. “Why’d it have to be you?” His answer is a kiss.
I have sat on my review for days, completely torn in how to rate this. As much as I loved Misfit, it pains me to admit that I struggled immensely with the second installment.
First, if you're planning to read this as a standalone, stop right there. While each book is a new couple, the story arc continues throughout the series, as well as some character arcs. Rogue was similar to Misfit in which you get primarily the main characters POV in addition to some secondary characters.
Now as for my rating, this was tough. While I liked the drama and enjoyed the mystery of Casey's accident unfold, the romance was completely lackluster. Honestly, I'd go so far as to say I didn't really feel this was a romance at all. While I rooted for Casey and Fenn in book one, the second half of this book had me feeling no sort of way about them at all.
The jaw dropping ending of Misfit revealed a small snippet into Casey's accident, and the entirety of this book is focused on the fall out and the further revelations. We also see Casey take a total personality change. She goes from quiet, demure, and timidly non confrontational to a total ball buster. I didn't hate it, and loved seeing her finally stand up for herself. But it was also so sudden and such a 180, it was hard to buy it at times too.
RJ and Sloane took a turn too. There was a certain thing that Sloane convinces RJ to do that had me seriously judging him and how much he chess to his girlfriend's dramatic flare. As for Sloane, I absolutely LOATHED her in this book. She became intolerable and I really hope we get some redeeming features for her in the next book.
As for Casey and Fenn? I was so disappointed with the romance of this book, I'm still mad. There was a particular event, which I won't spoil, but it seriously ruined any semblance of romance between them. I understand that Casey was mad, but the decision that she made was just...UGH. I hated it. This was even more disappointing by the fact I felt more chemistry with Lawson and Casey than with Fenn. I didn't understand why this had to happen. It felt unnecessary and outside of additional fallout, didn't do much in driving the plot forward. It could have been the same effect had the decision not been as extreme as it was.
Sadly, this book took me 7 days to finish and when I was marinating on my rating, I understood there was more things I disliked than enjoyed. So while the story kept me entertained, the characters frustrated me to no end and the romance was almost non existent. I'm really hoping books three turns things around for me because I'm still super invested in this series.

Rogue by Elle Kennedy is the second book in the new adult Prep series. It is mainly set in New Hampshire at the elite prep school Sandover, and features a group of juniors and seniors. Since her car accident last year on prom night, Casey Tresscott has been pampered by her sister and father and endured whispers and more by those at school. She and her sister Sloane even changed schools. But the rumors followed her. Her friendship with Sandover Prep’s Fenn Bishop has been the bright spot. But Fenn has a secret about prom night, and he thought lying about with the right thing to do. Casey is tired of being submissive and starts to push back with her bullies, seeks out a rebel, and defies her father’s curfews. Fenn enlists his stepbrother’s help to uncover the full story of the car accident.
Told from multiple points of view, I had no trouble transitioning from one to another. The characters were well-developed. Both Fenn and Casey go through dramatic transformations during the storyline. Additionally, there are many characters from book one in this novel giving readers an opportunity to catch up with their lives as well.
The author brilliantly portrayed the attitudes and changes that occurred. The story is well-plotted with a few unpredictable moments. Despite the multiple points of view, the story flowed okay. There are plenty of secrets, unlawful activities, bullying, and more woven into the story focused around the romance of Casey and Fenn. Will the mystery concerning Casey’s accident be fully resolved? There are two major situations at the end of the book that need to be resolved. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Overall, this story is enjoyable with plenty of angst and drama. The author delivers a heartfelt romance that tackles some deeper themes of friendship, family relationships, bullying, teen romances, illegal activities, and much more.

---------------------------------------- My 3.73 rounded to 4 stars review is coming soon.
I am in love with Lawson. I love this entire cast of characters but Lawson steals the show every time he appears on the page. I don't think we're getting his story next, but please, please, pretty please, Elle, don't leave it too long. I crave all things Lawson. It looks like Amy might be his love interest but I'm really hoping not. I'm hoping it's some hot new guy we haven't met yet.
I'm really disliking Silas now. I want to kick his ass so bad.
I love that we get so many POVs and I'm intrigued now a certain someone has made an appearance. I devoured this book in record time and it was even better than Misfit. I thought I had it all figured out, and then toward the end realized I was wrong and picked the culprit just before the big reveal. Made me sick for Casey. I am really looking forward to the next book.
This book reminded me how much I adore Elle Kennedy's writing. She can get me all up in my feels, have me on angsty tenterhooks, and then have me laughing out loud in the space of a few pages. She's a queen.
My only complaint is the lack of seggs between Fenn and Casey and I did not like the Mila set-up. Could quite happily have gotten behind a telling not showing scene there. She makes my blood boil and that entire scene made my skin crawl. Sloane sure loves her sister.
This was just full of teenage drama. The romance was nonexistent. I don’t know what happened with Casey and Fenn I was rooting for in book one but their chemistry was extinguished here. I don’t know how I ever liked Sloane in book one but she was insufferable here with RJ (he seriously needs to grow a pair) attending to her every dramatic whim. And why wasn’t Lawson chaotic here. It was what I loved about him in the previous book. Although I saw that plot twist coming a mile away, I did enjoy all the drama.
Rogue is the second book in Elle Kennedy’s Prep series and picks up right where Misfit left off. To avoid any spoilers, I am going to keep this brief. This series is beyond binge worthy and perfect if you love Gossip Girl (seriously there is all the high school drama). Alternating between multiple POVs you feel like you grow with the characters and empathize with them, even when they make the not so great decisions. There was also an added element of suspense as book 2 centered around figuring out what happened to one of the main characters, Casey, at prom night last year. I love how everything was tied up in the end but how Elle also set the stage for book three, which cant come soon enough!

„Rebela” de Elle Kennedy ne oferă o nouă poveste intensă, cu multe răsturnări de situație, adevăruri ce stau să iasă la iveală și decizii de moment ce pot avea efecte puternice în viitor. Este povestea plină de emoție a lui Fenn și Casey, doi tineri care m-au intrigat pe parcursul primului volum al seriei. Impresiile mele aici: https://justreadingmybooks.wordpress....
The Prep Series is one of my favourite guilty pleasures. It’s full of drama and spice as these prep school students deal with their trauma in unhealthy ways.
Rogue follows Casey and Fenn as they navigate a relationship together despite their friends’ disapproval and the secret Fenn is hiding.
The reason I rated Rogue four stars instead of five is because it doesn’t focus on Casey and Fenn as much as the previous novel focused on RJ and Sloane. However, the reason I rated the novel four stars instead of three is because I enjoyed Lawson and Silas’ chapters.
Casey is the good girl turned bad as she gets sick of being a doormat. I empathize with Casey as she struggled against the box everyone around her put her in and refused to see her as anything different.
Fenn is the typical rich son with daddy issues. There wasn’t anything overly interesting about him other than his secret.
Rogue is not as spicy as its predecessor. To be honest, it’s incredibly tame by comparison.
Overall, Rogue’s strength and weakness is its less central focus on Casey and Fenn. Though I enjoyed the novel as a whole, it felt more like set up for Lawson and Silas’ novels.
***I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Rogue is an addictive, alluring tale that transports you back to Sandover Prep right where Misfit leftover and into the life of Headmaster Tresscott’s youngest daughter Casey as she struggles to discover what really happened the night she almost died, finally confronts the bullies who taunt her day in and day out, and must decide if the boy of her dreams is worth giving a second chance.
The writing is intriguing and smooth. The characters are tormented, hedonistic, and impulsive. And the plot is a clever, captivating mix of mayhem, mischief, friendship, family, heartbreak, desire, teenage drama, first loves, and introspection.
Overall, Rogue is a highly entertaining, delectable treat that is another fantastic addition to what is ultimately turning out to be an absolutely binge-worthy, scandalous Prep series by Kennedy.

Summary: Casey Trescott has had a tough year. After an accident that almost killed her, she has struggled to find normalcy. But the intense friendship she’s formed with Fenn Bishop is threatened when secrets surrounding the accident come to the surface.
Thoughts: Another fun installment in the Prep Series, I loved getting to learn more about Fenn and Casey, the progression of their friendship, and the wrap up of the big mystery of book one. While each installment does feature an ensemble cast with a continuing storyline, so far the books seem to have one big focus - this one was centered around Fenn and his relationships.
I am really excited to continue on with the series. We had a bit more of Silas in this one and honestly, it is making me crave his story. He is such a fascinating character and I love the unrequited love aspect. Fingers cross book three features him. Nonetheless, I’m fully invested and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Well. I liked it. I really enjoyed the first book - even though it's all way too young for me. And too rich and too silly with the drugs and fighting and all. But still. I like this series. And this second book... It was cute. Casey got on my nerves a lot with her immature behavior. But I liked how they all still tried to find out what happened. And then we get the cliffy again! Not a real cliffy but yeah - cliffish... Lawson. Gabe. So much more to tell. GIMME!
This one was 100 times better than the first book. I kinda had my answers to some questions and I wasn’t surprised when things turned exactly how I expected. I’m pretty curious to know what happened to Lawson. He was one of my favs. Is he dead? I guess he is. 🫣
Ever since Casey Tresscott was pulled from a car submerged in a lake and left bleeding by the shore, everyone has treated her with kid gloves. The only exception is Fenn Bishop; Fenn and Casey have only grown closer since Casey's accident. But Fenn is carrying a secret about that night which will change their relationship forever.
I quite enjoyed the first book in this series, MISFIT, which focused more on Casey's sister, Sloane. This one was not quite as juicy and sexy as the first, with more emphasis on the Casey and Fenn angst versus romance. There is also a lot of time spent on figuring out the history and mystery around Casey's accident as Sloane and her boyfriend, RJ, unravel what really happened. I was frustrated by the lack of truth telling here (Fenn letting everyone know the truth from the beginning would have saved a lot of trouble). However, what I love about these books is that they are fun, dramatic, and sexy--and perhaps not the most realistic. They can be silly, and I'm terrified by how much sex and drugs these high school students are engaging in, but these are wonderful escapist reads that I cannot resist. 3.5 stars.
HOLY FREAKING HELL OF ANGST AND EMOTIONAL TURMOIL 😱😱😱. I enjoyed Misfit but I am OBSESSED with Rogue 🤩💔. I am still reeling from what Elle Kennedy did here! Jesus, that… thing… Casey did… and… WHAT??? The … hesitation??? 😱. Don’t get fooled my friends, this is not a concluded second part… it has left so many things WIDE open and I am an emotional MESS! Casey finds out about about Fenn’s involvement in her accident months ago from which she suffered greatly and all hell breaks lose! She breaks things off with him and from there on… they keep breaking each other… him for not telling her the truth… her for the … choice she makes… My HEART 💔😭. “Please don’t leave me.”… UGH I cannot deal 😩. Of course there’s still all the other amazing… and not so amazing characters! I still love Lawson SO MUCH, but what he did??? UNFORGIVABLE in my book… i love him though, he is so broken and misunderstood! RJ and Sloane annoyed me a lot on the beginning with how overbearing they were with Casey, but I get that their actions came from a good place! Silas…. *siiighs*…. The only thing I feel for Silas right now is… anger… he seriously needs to make some changes in the next book… he has seriously gone down the wrong path… or better, paths! In all departments! Sooooo, dear Elle… WHEN’S THE NEXT BOOK COMING???
theres so many charcters so im just going to rate them Sloane: kinda a bitch at the beginning but she redeemed herself Casey: IN LOVE WITH HERRR Silas: die but also ily Lawson: MY BABY DADDY THE LOML CAN DO NO WRONG RJ: sloane has got this man by the BALLS like STAND UPPP 😩😩 Fenn: casey could do better Amy: if her and lawson end uo together i will actually throw hands shes so annoyingggg Mila: kinda hate her for what she did to casey Lucas: IM STILL SHOCKED THAT HE DID THAT AND SENT GABE AWAY Gabe: i get bad vibes…. Duke: why is he so funny but like not good charcter material ALSOOOO i like 75% ship lawson and silas together like ELLE KENNEDY MAKE IT HAPPEN‼️‼️‼️ theywould be so cute
This gave me such a gossip girl vibes! There was mystery, scandals, and romance! This was so much better than the first book! I definitely enjoyed the first book, but this was a slam dunk!
I really enjoyed this one! This series should be read in order since this book picks up shortly after the events of the first book. The romantic focus shifts from RJ and Sloane to Fenn and Casey but all of the characters we met in the first book are back for this installment. I found myself very invested in learning what really happened to Casey the night of the accident.
I loved seeing how things have changed for some of the characters. Casey’s point of view was new in this installment and I thought that her characters added a lot to the overall story. It was great to finally get the answers that I was looking for. I listened to the audiobook and thought that the group of six narrators did an amazing job with the story. Each voice was distinctive so it was easy to identify which character’s perspective had shifted to. I do believe that their performance added to my overall enjoyment of the story.
I received a review copy of this book from Bloom Books.
Wow !
Thank you to NetGalley, Elle Kennedy, and Bloom Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
My mind is honestly blown. THAT ENDING?! What the heck. This book was good, but also tough at times. Casey was going through it during this book, and her journey came full circle. Watching her struggle to deal with emotions and pain, with healing from all the trauma, was hard at times. And Fenn, I just love him faults and all. I absolutely hate Silas currently and I am not here for his villain arc. My heart broke for Lawson (while also being angry at him for betraying Fenn), and I just wish someone would love him and show him his worth. RJ and Sloane were still crazy, yet I can’t help but love them. This book is an entire mess of angst and toxic relationships and love and forgiveness and I just EAT IT UP. I know some people hate the multiple POVs, but I honestly love it. I feel like it really adds to the story and keeps you pulled in for all the craziness that is to come. I feel like although one mystery has been solved, it only opened the door for so many more. Can book 3 come out already?!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
so i REALLY hate to say it considering how excited i was for this book but it just wasn’t everything i was hoping for😞. i didn’t get the giggly excited wow factor i get while reading this and i think it’s because they’re connection felt so idk - limited maybe?
i would have loved loved loved to see a stronger connection after they made up instead it felt short and sad. i genuinely feel like i was robbed of how good casey and fenn could have been! the whole time this book i was honestly shipping lawson and casey which i knew was never going to happen because this fenn and casey’s book.
every time i pick up a book i like to look at some of the non spoiler reviews and i caught myself stuck on all the lower starred reviews and i was highly doubting them but now i understand.
hopefully lawsons book is better because i have been so excited for it to come out! love me a broken man i need to put back together…
