This book was so Hallmark. I am fully intending to include all the good and bad connotations of Hallmark. She was a complete caricature of a human being. Joy is meant to be overly sweet but stubborn; she's an emotional and flip-floppy lady. Despite being sold as sweeter than a chocolate caramel frappe with sprinkles on top, she was simultaneously so hair-trigger and angry with what felt like half of the people she interacted with. Adam, Haley, and Chad are a solid half, and honestly, I can't think of more than five people she talked to unless you count the cop and BB's barista, and she was angry at them, too! Joy being so uncontrolling over her emotions was a big turn-off and a sign of immaturity, but y'know. Hallmark. If that is what this book is putting, then I am very awarely picking it up loud and clear and partaking in the predominantly feel-good drama. There's more to be said, but in short, if you like Hallmark and a single kiss at the end, then this book is for you.
