This was a really fun series. I really enjoyed reading this series. The action is pretty much non stop. The characters are very well written as well as well developed. There are many humorous moments that had me laughing out loud, lucky for me no one was around. Most of this revolves around the interactions between the talking earth dog and the space cat known as a sphynx. Most of the space ships names are from Egyptian gods. There are many references to SiFi shows and movies. I noted references to Eragon, Terminator, Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings, and Captain America. If you are one who prefers hard science, then this is not your series. Quite a bit of science fiction and fantasy mixed. There is even technology based magic. If you are a fan of good old science fiction and fantasy then I highly recommend this series. There is a great mix of action, humor and a little bit of interspecies romance.
This is a compilation of multiple books from the series, into one large volume.
The main character has the maturity of a twelve year old... There are so many problems with this story that I will stick with the shorter list, what is right.
Main character seems to be a decent representative of Earth. The dog seems to be reasonably intelligent. The AI seems to be smarter than everyone... The bad guys are not worth mentioning.
The secret weapon is a great way to finish off the first book, NOT.
The series gets weaker and weaker as it goes along.
Good price. Lots of words for the price.
Think old serials from the 1930s, but written for a really inexpensive pulp magazine.
A Boy and His Dog 🐕 YA sci-fi👽 I like the idea of this book but the writing is juvenile. I think since the main character is an 18 year old young man, this book is directed towards teenagers. Ridiculous situations with unlikely outcomes fill each book In this complete series. As you can imagine, reading a whole series📚 like this, you notice that there is also some repetitiveness.
I got this e-book from Amazon📚 with Kindle unlimited.
A young man just out of school finds a dying space man in an extraterrestrial spaceship and is convinced to mind link with a dead alien across the universe to save a race of beings about to be annihilated. Near constant VR gaming has mad Kevin a perfect candidate for piloting the unmanned ship. This is the beginning of an adventure of epic proportions. Good Read.
This anthology is classified as a space fleet / space marine title – the categorization and number of high reviews is what led me to grab it. I stopped at about the 8% mark as I realized the target audience is really 6th grade boys. Lots of dialogue, fairly weak structure, and the “science” of the science fiction is not realistic.
Wonderful coming of age series as a young man transitions into adulthood and all that goes with while still managing to save the universe. The first two books were predictable and standard, but the last three made up for that. Follow tge authors recommendation about the reading order and it should be an enjoyable read.
Fun, amazing, engrossing, punny, and one amazing journey. Well worth acquiring for your extreme reading pleasure. Join Kevin and crew for the ride of their lives, you won't regret it.
I tend to read quite a few sci fi opera / adventure books . This series of books should be great for pre teens. Plenty of action within the books. Quite a lot of reference to existing sci go shows of the last 50 years.
This could have been a good story if all of the foolish handed was left out. Also, review of each past book was a waste of time. Smiling the reviews reduced the many book series to a short story.
I read the first book in this series and I enjoy the story. It had some very interesting characters and the world building was interesting. I started the second book and I got to 30% and I decided to quit reading it, the reason is because its to YA for me.
This series takes you on many hair raising adventures with Kevin and his friends. It’s a new twist on a earth human having contact with alien races, plus AI technology. Great read. Big D
Started out interesting and for awhile it was fun and kinda cool. Then people started spells and totally corrupted any kind of Science fiction turning into fantasy fiction. Not my favorite.
It was a bit difficult to start this series, for some reason
Though I did enjoy the series. Definitely YA, which I wasn’t really expecting. In general, good quality writing, though the editing didn’t seem quite as good in the last volume of the series.
The proof reading is better than average but still lacking a bit, especially in the last two books. Good fun read for young adults and teens. Will not strain your brain but could use a bit more sci and a bit less fi.
just a truly badly written series. I forced myself to read though the entire series , time I will never get back. the last books were the worst. Truly juvenile I had hoped for better.
This was a good read with lots of action and adventure, character's for the most part were good and stayed true. I like the stories that jump from earth to space and back with a modern touch. Great series read and would recommend it to anyone.
I started all this quite a while ago I'm not sure that it even had the same name, but by the time realized that I had read some of it I was hooked and had to finish.
Although it requires a willing suspension of disbelief at times, this is a fun book to read. Good characters and an exciting plot line makes for an entertaining book.
