I've stared into the face of Death, falling victim to her deceptively sweet lullaby. Until she released me from her icy grip without any warning, sending me stumbling back out the other side to continue on as if nothing happened.
When I come to in the hospital as their mysterious John Doe, I discover that the past year of my life never happened at all.
But I remember all of it. Every drop of blood shed, every life lost, every bullet fired.
I've been propelled back into a personal hell where I'm fraternizing with the very men whose souls I've coaxed from their bodies.
Where the woman I love has no idea who I am.
Where the driving force behind my revenge is alive and well, and has taken it upon herself to make sorting out my new reality increasingly difficult.
I'm reliving each day as if it hasn't already happened while everyone around me remains oblivious to the truth. My sole objective is preventing history from repeating itself, and I’m failing miserably.
Perhaps I'm death incarnate. Perhaps I'm the embodiment of life.
Either way, I plan to set the scales straight, reclaim my precious little lamb, and take back what's rightfully mine.
We are brought back to Bash’s world after waking up in the hospital. He is on a mission to find Jovie and bring her back into his life.
This book was a fun and crazy ride! This isn’t just a Stalker Romance centered around the spice but it has a great plot focusing around bringing down a secret society.
Don’t get me wrong. We got some great spice with some 🔪 play. The chemistry between Bash and Jovie is good. The only problem I had was how willingly Jovie accepted Bash’s stalking. It almost seemed like she wasn’t bothered by it.

What would you do if you lost everything but woke up in an alternate reality where there's been a reset to before things started to unravel.
That's exactly what happens to Sebastian, the only problem, he's the only one that remembers the past life.
Jovie is alive, but in an Institution because her abusive boyfriend, Gabe, and addict mother set her up. Her friends and family don't believe her account of what happens because Gabe has everyone wrapped under his conniving spell.
This book has a different twist on the events that happened in the first book, giving the characters different options, and expanding on the evil of The Order.
It was easy to read, and although parts of story stayed in line with the first, I definitely like the outcome of this "alternate universe" better than the first.
**Updating to add- I just finished the audiobook and it was fantastic! The narrators perfectly portrayed Bash and Jovie. They truly brought these characters to life and made me love this story even more!
This sequel was amazing! I love the whole concept, and it carried through perfectly from book 1! Bash is such an amazing MMC. In the best way possible, he's a little softer and giving when it comes to his "Stardust." But he's still just as ruthless this time around when it comes to protecting what he loves. We still get all the stalker and "touch her and d!e" vibes that I absolutely love from him.
Jovie is still such a badass for overcoming everything she's been through, and you get a little more insight into some of those events.
I love their chemistry and how they evolved in this sequel. Without giving away too much, they definitely had amazing glow ups. The plot took some thrilling twists and turns that I wouldn't have expected. Some definitely pulled at the heartstrings, though. If I had to critique one thing, I do wish that certain plot points went more in depth towards the end. Some things weren't fully explained, but honestly, it didn't take away from the overall story. Overall, I absolutely loved this duet and would 100% recommend it!
After reading book 1 I was very torn on how I felt about it, I think I ended up giving it 3 stars bc there are aspects of it that I liked but also a lot I didn’t like. Needless to say I was looking forward to reading this one to see how everything concludes and y’all your boy is very bummed with how much I didn’t like this. I’m not sure if my current emotional state is affecting my book reading experience but this just really didn’t work for me.
For starters this kind of started like reading the first book but with new developments, I was also hopeful for Jovie and Bash’s relationship after seeing a lot of reviews talk about how “soft” he was this time around and I did not feel that at all. I just wasn’t caring about any character and I was getting frustrated with Jovie and her family and their dynamics like I don’t recall Halen being so against Jovie and her truth? I also thought that Bash was still going to be getting some type of “revenge” since he now knows who was doing what in the order, but he like…. Did nothing??? Also I really didn’t care about the stuff with “the order” it truly bored me and I couldn’t help but skim and then I just gave up on this book.
Maybe I’ll revisit this again but for right now it’s a no for me dog
I'm so disappointed that I disliked this book this much.
I didn't like the twist the first book ended with, but I thought it could make a really interesting second book. Sadly it didn't for me.
I felt like the characters felt flatter. I wasn't a fan of Jovie in the first, I disliked her in his one. And Bash just got stupid, in my opinion. He got a second chance and he didn't use any information he had to his advantage.
I hated the Order. This book is very centered around the Order and I just hate the cliché: rich man being monsters because they are bored and can afford it. We never got a better explanation or a deeper motive for the Order acting like they act.
At around 80% I got hopeful that we would get an interesting angle to the revenge story, but then the ending just blew it (literally, lol).
Overall, I was very disappointed and wished I hadn't picked this up.
But this is just my personal opinion, and it just means it wasn't for me.
the inner dialogues became repetitive and the character development wasn’t what i hoped for. some minor and major plot points were also left inadequately explained and not in a fun way; there were no allusions as to why certain things had taken place. i had to push through the last 20ish% with only mild interest because i’m stubborn and i hate adding to my dnf shelf. at the very least, finishing this left me with a small sense of accomplishment lol
I don’t know what happened to the character development between book 1 and book 2 but every single character except for the MMC was absolutely infuriating and intolerable for 80% of the book.
The ending of book one left me with my mouth open. After everything the main characters went through, I was absolutely gobsmacked that it ended that way. I knew the second book in the Parallel Prey duet was coming, but I am not ashamed to admit I was frequently visiting the authors social media accounts for updates. It takes authors months to write a book and I gobble them in one sitting.
The connection the main characters share in undeniable. Even coming from vastly different lives, they still share an unbreakable bond. Fallen Prey not only gives the reader answers, but it showcases our beloved dynamic from a completely different perspective. It is so difficult for me to express their journey without giving away key points and spoiling things, so you're just going to have to take my word for it. A fantastic duet worth reading.
This was my first duet from Jen Stevens, but it won't be my last. I look forward to diving into her back log as well as devouring her future stories.
the way i was clenching from the cliffhanger in book one … i immediately RAN to read this when i found out it was released !! i love sebastian and jovie so much it hurts 😭 i was not expecting all those plot twists and how it turned out
sebastian is definitely a lot more “calmer” than book one. but he is still our morally grey “touch her and die” ruthless mmc 🖤 there’s still stalker vibes and absolute mind fuck !! jovie omg. she’s such a baddie. she is such a strong character who completely fell in love with 😍 their chemistry is so unreal !! i love this story so much
I'm so disappointed by the second book. I loved the first one so much, I couldn't wait for the second and it was just so bad. Their "reunion" when she finally remembered him was brushed off so fast. And then the ending just as well. So many kills left and then just with a few pages everything is over and done.

“Death is inevitable. Grief is a privilege. It means you've loved someone enough to want the impossible—for them to live forever.”
Well if that doesn’t sum up the theme of duet, then no other quote does.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶🌶🌶️ 🔥🔥🔥
I’m not totally sure what to think about this duet quite yet, but I will say I liked the first book over this book. We get a little bit more background between Gabe and Jovie, and the story is led differently than what we were told in the first book. Jovie was much stronger in this book, where she stood her ground and made different choices. Bash was so fixated on trying to get her to fall in love with him again, but Jovie was not the same person as she was in the last book. So although he was trying to replicate how they met, the story just felt completely different, and I can’t determine if I like it or not.
My main complaint with the book is how every single piece just fell into place so easily. I was truly hoping that Bash would continue to get his revenge, and in some minor parts he did, but for the majority things just seem to ‘work out’ in the end. It felt that there was no struggle when taking the revenge. It was just too simple for me. The grittiness in the first book did not follow through in the second book and so at parts it was almost boring.
Bash was still the same character since he was the only one to remember anything, so I still continued to love him as a great book boyfriend. 💕

If you haven't read Prey Drive before this, you need to! It's a duet that must be read in order. Trust me, it's incredibly worth it.
Again, what the heck did I just read?
I was thrown into this one with my head still spinning from the ending of the first book. I was trying to get my bearings as I dove right into this and fighting sleep. I NEEDED to know what was happening. How was the author going to spin this around to be something unique and different?
If I thought Book 1 was suspenseful, it had nothing on this one. It had moments of chaos, intensity, surprisingly sweet and tender moments, a whole lot of what the fudge did I just read moments, and more. I just
Jovie - I think I loved her more with this book than the previous one. I feel like we get more insight to her. This was more balanced to see her view of events. But with that slight twist. You're still getting this incredible story and background of what happened in book one with her, but at the same time, something new. Parallel, I swear. She has more depth for me in this book. her spirit gets damaged but I felt her fighting so much harder to get answers and balance. Fighting for her life.
Bash - With this one, you see the softer side of him. I have to say I love him more too. You get a whole lot of insight into him in a way that you didn't before. There's that understanding of why things went crazy for him. you see why he has so much emotion when it comes to all of the things that are happening around him. His desire to make that connection again and answers drives him. He's fighting for more than just Jovie, for sure.
Honestly, the way the author was able to just mash these two characters up, twist them around for both books and make you see them in different lights impresses me. In each book, we see the opposite versions of them. While all at the same time, you're living through several key points.
Not to mention the insanity that is The Order. Like, mind blown how that was all integrated. This was the first duet from this author I ever read and I think I need to dive into some more. Once I can get over this book hangover. I'm still thinking about it a few days later.

𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒚 𝑭*** This book gets right into things after that hell of a cliffhanger in book 1.
We had an idea of what Jovie went through in the first book, but here it really takes us on her journey, through her pain and uncertainty about everything. She has these memories but every time they come within grasp they just fade.
Bash, he remembers everything, he doesn't know what's going on, everything for him is just blending together. He is determined to change what happened, but he might not be able to. He is trying to help Jovie recall all the events, but has 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒈𝒐 𝒃𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏 ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔.
Jovie and Bash's book was one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, I felt this h anger and I'll be honest I didn't want her forgiving anybody 🙈. Bash and Jovies chemistry was hot as ever, the steamy moments between them 🥵....and those last few chapters, I was hooked
Yea, no, this was terrible. Such a rip off of Haunting Adeline from the stalking, to the hunt, to couple murder. The ending was so abrupt. They set it up for their murder spree just for the dad to blow everyone up instead. So lame. The worst part is there was not nearly enough sex to justify the lack of solid plot in this book.
God the editing is horrible. One minute she is saying she has seen him every day, the next chapter she says she hasn’t seen him since an incident 3 chapters ago. Then we have Bash saying “my body may it have taken a life in this timeline…” except, hello, he killed Gabe like 10 chapters ago. My god did anyone read this before it got published?
The time warp/ghost was just so unnecessary. Skip this one y’all.
2.5⭐️… I am still very confused on a lot of things. 1. They didn’t explain the time lapse very well. 2. 200 pages of this book was basically retelling the first book with SOME added information. 3. I started to enjoy it when the Order stuff got brought about with the hunt, but then once Bash was ready to take care of everything, the big ending happened with his dad….Then….nothing?
This was so rushed in the parts I wanted detail and so slow in the parts I already knew from book 1. I still can’t stand the FMC.
I think Jen really could have done well with the confusing ending from the last book and just didn’t hit the nail on the head with this one.
I'm convinced this was written by AI. Chapters upon Chapters of dull inner monologuing. None of the plot twists are explained or make any sense. This books only saving grace is the occasional "good girl". Do not recommend.
4⭐️ 1.5🌶️ This book was a gripping, emotional conclusion to the Parallel Prey duet. This book picks up right where book one left off, and it does not hold back. The tension is high, the stakes are even higher, and the emotional weight of it all is what really carried this story home.
There’s a raw intensity to this duet—not just in the romance, but in the choices these characters have to make. There’s pain, quiet moments of hope, and some beautiful glimpses of healing. The plot kept me engaged the entire time, and while it’s very much a dark romance, there’s something very human underneath all the grit.
🎧 The audiobook was Duet style Narration and it was a fantastic experience. Hannah Chiclana gave such a strong, heartfelt performance—her voice fit the tone of the story perfectly. And Gregory Salinas? Flawless. He brought this broody, dangerous character to life in a way that made him feel both terrifying and deeply vulnerable. Their chemistry in audio was spot-on, especially in the more emotional scenes.
The spice was light but meaningful—1.5🌶️ feels about right. It wasn’t constant, but when it showed up, it mattered. It felt like it belonged to the story, not just added for heat, which I appreciated
📚📚📚 This audiobook was absolutely amazing! Instantly I was hooked and shut off the outside world. The narrators did an amazing job making this book come to life. I totally recommend checking the triggers because there’s definitely some darker ones but i absolutely loved it all. Bash is definitely one of those MMCs that will forever live rent free in my head. Jovie impressed me a bunch with how much she had to overcome. That ending once again I was NOT expecting and my mouth is just in the floor. I binged this audio and can’t wait for more!

✨have you ever read dark romance? If so what’s your favorite book? If not what’s a recent book you’ve added to your tbr?
Now this was a way to end a duet! This book was everything and more.
I didn’t think nothing would top my love for Prey Drive, book 1, but I was mistaken. This book was just as good if not more.
With how book 1 ended, you were left having a reaction along the lines of “WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?” And you pick right up where it was left off. And gosh my heart broke for Sebastian. Right when you are finally loving him and happy he has found love, it gets taken from him and you hurt and get confused with it right along with him. He is giving a second chance with his family but has to fight for Jovie all over again. That proves to be harder than he thought with her not having any idea of their past life together.
My goodness, we have to live through Jovie’s past all over again with her. And let me tell you, it is still just has heartbreaking as the first time. Only this time around I was NOT a fan of her sister. But to see her make the same moves as she did before, even with a little push from Bash, I was happy. Happy to see she was making new friends. Even if I was a little on the fence with that new friendship, thinking if they were really sincere or not. I was sooooo hoping this new friend was not helping cause Jovie pain.
There is still heartbreak that seems to never escape these two. But I am happy to report they finally do get their HEA! You will just have to go through a lot of suspense and twists and pain with them to get to it. But it is totally worth it!
Be sure to check those TW’s before starting. Also if you haven’t read Prey Drive, book 1, you are going to want to start there before starting this book as you will be confused with the way this book goes. . . . 5️⃣🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 10/10 recommendation‼️
This was such a good ending to this duet. It’s been a privilege to get an ARC. When I read the first book, the ending wasn’t anything I expect. I stared jaw dropped at the page for a good minute to process. 😅 I immediately went to find book two and lucky me I was only a couple months away from it being released. I love the parallel worlds. Not knowing who remembers what had me stressed. The trauma throughout hits so much worse the second time. Even though we had to start over, I never felt like it was redundant or boring. It was beautifully written with so many twists and turns. Read this duet!
5/5 ✨ 4/5 🌶️
“Death is inevitable. Grief is a privilege. It means you've loved someone enough to want the impossible—for them to live forever.” What a way to break my heart, Jen.
Sebastian wakes up and remembers everything, and thinks he lost his love. When leaving the hospital he sees her. He is trying to keep the ones he loves save. Will Jovie remember? Can he keep them from the same fate ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I absolutely love Sebastian and Jovie. Great supporting characters. This book has so many twists and turns. I read it in a day couldn’t put it down. Check your trigger warnings and then go read this amazing book
I can’t even say I’m disappointed because it’s not like I had high hopes. However I must say I prefer this one to the first book. There’s just so many things that never turned into anything. I’m a bit thrown off by the fact that we never really got an explanation for the plot twist in book one.
I saw a review that simply said “why” and I don’t think anything sums this book up better than that. Why??
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this duet, it was really good, the plot twists were amazing, the spice was spicing, the love was loving, over the top possessiveness, it was bloody, it was everything I love in a book, that being said.... the last 10-15% of the book felt a little rush, and that made me sad but still recommend 100%!
I absolutely loved book 1, Prey Drive and was looking forward to reading Fallen Prey. However, I'm saddened to say that this one felt a bit rushed in spots, and I wasn't feeling it.
Thank you for the ARC, Jen Stevens. All opinions are my own.
