Day 01 - Angel
3 ⭐️
A guy who can see Death. Porn with plot. Definitely interesting if it was a full length and there was pining, but I like it. Just has some spelling and grammar errors.

Day 02 - Bound
4 ⭐️
A guy bought a book which was bound to a soul. It’s very unique, and sexy. It’s one of those that becomes more and more interesting as you read it. This was much heavier on the plot and I was hooked. It ended pretty well and giving mysterious ending slash you can make up your own ending I love these kind of books :)

Day 03 - Claim

This one was porny and kinky. I like the kink part, thou. It falls on the insta side, and I like the plot just fine.

Day 04 - Squeeze
2 ⭐️
Shifter, maybe? I wasn’t paying attention. They’re established couple, figuring out the future sorta. I didn’t enjoy this one, it was pretty bland and boring. Weak start, a bit chaotic and disappointing.

Day 05 - Sound
3.5 ⭐️
Talking scarecrow and a human. Virgins. Hah this one made me laugh a little it was innocently very funny and quite hot 🥵 I like it :)

Day 06 - Legends
2.5 ⭐️
An obsessed paranormal investigator and a Mothman. I really like their interactions it made me smile. However, the story is not really my liking, very fast paced and packed I would like it better if it was focused more on the MCs

Day 07 - Crate

This couldn’t hold my attention.

Day 08 - Mirrors
3.5 ⭐️
Mirror monster. It’s pretty bizarre, but these stories are made for me hahah The story was a mix of sweet and porny I like it just fine :)

Day 09 - Closet
2 ⭐️
Single father and a closet monster. Gay for you. Established couple, but with their backstory prior to the relationship. It’s sweet, but falls on the porny side, and too many sex. Not a fan.

Day 10 - Swim
3 ⭐️
Tentacles!! It’s pretty good, but I noticed the endings of these past three stories are just the same lmao.

Day 11 - Tranquil
2 ⭐️
Archeologist and a mummy. They didn’t have any chemistry and it felt forced. Didn’t like their dynamic and the plot.

Day 12 - Giggle
2.5 ⭐️
A haunted house. Quite thrilling. It’s alright, nothing interesting and I was bored.

Day 13 - Toes
2 ⭐️
Monster dating service. Lacking of plot. Not a fan. I lost interest and skimmed.

These stories lacked of atmosphere and the monsters lacked of personality and physique. Like I couldn’t imagine how they looked like even as simple as the closet monster. It kinda dimmed the ability to enjoy them as characters. They’re all shorties so I guess it makes sense.

I’m so tired of my favorite authors collab-ing with not so great authors because they’re besties. I have learned my lesson repeatedly to not read these two. But I loved Hiers monster compilations so much that I thought this would be another win. It was not. I don’t know how much of it they wrote and what the other author wrote, but Hiers is better than this. 2023 can be over now, thanks.

3 stars. The really cringey banter during sex almost ruined this story. Like… Hiers is usually solid writing sex but this was really bad. 😵‍💫

2 stars. This was just kinda silly. And not in a fun way.

4 stars. Hot. Solid writing.

3 stars. Happy to see Fidi and Matt again from a previous short story compilation but the writing felt off.

Day 5
2 stars… Uh…. Just… uh… 🤔

Also, someone needs to tell whoever wrote this that the dialogue in sex scenes being all sentences that end in exclamations is… not good. Oof.

3.5 stars. It was ok

4.5 stars. Super cute and hot. Wanted more.

3 stars. More with the exclamation dialogue 😵‍💫 You can definitely tell who wrote which stories in this. 😖

Day 9
1 star. More awkward exclamation happy sex dialogue. Gawd. And the word “baby” was used 55 TIMES in a 20 PAGE STORY. Omg. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Day 10
2.5 stars…. The sex is starting to feel repetitive at this point. Which is hard to do with every story having a different monster with some having monster parts but.. *yawn*

3-ish stars?
Never thought I would read a short where they meet, fuck, fall in love, and marry in the span of about 15 pages but here we are.

Zero stars…. The writing. DNF a few pages in. 😖

Another DNF. The sex dialogue is seriously the worst. Ugh.

I'm Rating this book a 3.5, mainly because I thought there would be.. more of a connection between MC's than them just sleeping together? So that part of it didn't work well for me. I like there to be emotion and depth to characters not just for it to be focused on the steamy times. However, I did appreciate the wide variety of the different types of monsters.

Thry were each unique with different attributes and details. There were two stories that really stood out to me, that I wish were full length books. The first one is Vitruvius and Clancy's story. I really liked the idea of Vitruvius being able to come to life more and more, due to Clancy restoring the book he was trapped in. I thought that was really unique and creative and I absolutely loved the concept. I just wish it hadn't ended so abruptly.

The second book I adored was about Keaton and Randall. I truly loved this story, and I hope that at some point it becomes a full length book. I don't want to spoil it for you but the idea and concept were so fun and Keaton was definitely not a monster but he certainly was his own creature.

Overall not a bad collection of stories, it was just way steamier than I was expecting.

First of all, points for the scope and imaginativeness of these stories– there’s a nice range of monsters and scenarios, and they all come to life on the page with creativity and steam. While there’s plenty of heat, I think it’s the core of sweetness and care that exists at the center of each of these stories that I liked the most: these couples are good for each other– emotionally, physically, etc., and their bonds feel real. All of the stories have something to recommend them, but I’ll admit that there were a few definite favorites for me. Day 2 had a twist I should have seen coming but didn’t, as well as a unique take on hurt/comfort (book restoration as emotional and physical healing…gotta love it). I also really liked Day 1. What can I say– apparently I’m a sucker for grim reapers with accents and windex-blue eyes. Overall, an enjoyable collection of stories, well worth a read. 4.5 stars.

Standalone collection of paranormal stories. Single POV. Sweetheart monsters and the humans that care about them, with high steam. This book is full of stories just as described - plenty of monsters finding their human and steaming up the sheets every time. Each “day” is its own individual standalone story and background, different monster, different human character, and different meet-cute story, and the authors deliver on a variety of creative matches. I enjoyed every one of the couples, some were more romantic than others, but all were instantly attached and committed. One major thing I appreciated - none of the humans had a second thought about getting together with a monster, just loved the straightforward acceptance and attraction. Such a fun and entertaining read. 4.5 rounded up

Only about 3-4 of these were good enough to actually read in full and had potential to be great and original ideas.

However, most of these were mid and just spice, which is what the anthology was for, but sometimes mid will always be mid no matter what. Especially when the stories contrast in originality and creativity. Many of them felt very cookie cutter.

I wanted to give this a 2, but it just wasn’t that bad. The good ones were good and the bad ones were whatever. Kinda just had to skip some if I couldn’t get into it. But it’s worth a read if you are down with just going next with some of the stories.

An amazing and fast-paced erotic M/M Monster romance anthology. One of the best I've read. The stories were inspired by horror story prompts, but the short stories are cute, light and exciting. Maybe a little on the cringe-y side, but I don't mind ridiculousness. The stories where protagonists were already in a relationship and where there was some of the dialogue during spicy times were not for me. If you liked touch/staved, misunderstood, non-human genitalia, and trust arcs this is the book for you.

My favourite was Day 6.

My gosh, these shorts were just so adorable! I’m a fan of MM monster romances and was so happy to see this collection of shorts available. These stories were sweet, spicy and didn’t contain the triggers you’d see in the other two 13 Days of Monsters books. I really hope to see a Vol 2 in the future!

Pretty decent

Actually pretty decent for my first dive into this spesific type of subgenre. It's a mixed bag when it comes to stories though. In some, the progression towards the end goal feels smooth, while in others it feels like things go to fast. I can understand realism being mostly unnecessary, but a few ones felt rushed.

This was a great read. This book contains 13 chapters with stories about monsters and their humans who love them. Some of the chapters are with humans who have been with them for a while, while others are meeting for the first time. Lots of heat in all 13 stories. Loved it.

I know the title of the book is “13 Days of Monsters Making Love”, but I needed a little more (even just 10% extra) world building, character development, plot, etc before the schmexy times began. Some of the endings were too abrupt as well.
