I don’t want you. Four little words which can bring your life crashing down.
Fine. Rhett Bardot didn’t want me. I could still live a perfectly normal, happy life.
Too bad he’s my Dad’s best friend, actually more like a brother.
It’s been two years since the night Rhett blew up my dreams of a happily-ever-after, and until now, I’ve managed to avoid all contact with him. I’ve blocked him out of my mind completely.
Now, at 23, I’m a budding artist looking to make it big in the industry. I’ve been invited to a prestigious art convention in Alaska, and I can’t wait to show my work and mingle with other artists.
Even better, Dad found me a cabin in the mountains, allowing me an opportunity to work on landscape painting and save money.
But there’s a storm. And Dad didn’t tell me who owned the cabin.
Now, Rhett and I are snowed in, unable to leave the house. All my feelings, including the humiliation I felt the night he rejected me come flooding back, mixing together and confusing me.
Am I still a child in his eyes?
Or will he realize I’m a grown woman who wants nothing more than to curl up in his massive arms and let him do things to me that I know my Dad would destroy him for?
Do you love a forbidden romance, age gap, forced proximity, dads best friend romance? That’s right, I said dads best friend. If so? This one is for you!!
You know the best part about a forbidden romance in my opinion? The moment the male main characters self control snaps and he finally acts on their connection. And let me tell you, when Rhett’s snaps? Oh. My. God. 🥵. That man went from a solid 6/10 to a 12/10. He became a completely different person in the bedroom and I was not mad about it😏
My only complaint is that it was a little too short for me which made it feel a little too insta love. But, I guess when you’ve always been in that persons life and loved them in some capacity or another it wouldn’t take long for that love to transform into a different kind of love once you acted on the attraction.
Overall, I felt the plot was incredible, the spice was incredible, the characters were relatable and very likeable, and I needed more of this story!!
Ivory is ecstatic over the invitation she received to the Denali Art Expo in Alaska where she could display her best work. To her delight, her father arranged for a cabin in the mountains where she could concentrate on painting beautiful landscapes. He neglected, however, to tell her who owned that cabin.
Rhett Bardot is her dad’s best friend and a world-renowned sculptor. He owns his own business, Immortal Stone, Inc., and made her dad the CEO. She had a huge crush on Rhett since her teen years. She had expressed her feelings to him and was rejected. So she tried to forget him and turned her attentions to her art.
The cabin and view are gorgeous. Her room is amazing with a floor-to-ceiling window. She showers and puts on comfy clothes when she hears the front door close and finds Rhett in the kitchen! She can’t stay here with him! So she will go to the hotel instead. She is still so angry at her humiliation the last time she saw him. She starts to pack when she sees the snow coming down so heavily that she can’t see anything else out there. And the cab company is shutting down and informed her the road to her cabin is blocked for safety concerns. A snowmobile might get her to town, but if the snow continues like this, she won’t be able to see to follow the road. A knock on the door means she now has to confront Rhett and has nowhere to escape. Will he finally get her to tell him what their problem is, since he sees how upset she is? He offers to take her to town on his snowmobile since he is experienced enough to make it down safely. But 12” of snow have fallen. And she realizes her ego should not risk their lives in this crazy attempt.
Stuck together until the storm ends and the roads are safer, Rhett has time to look at her differently now that she is grown. Is she ready to forgive his rejection back then? Is he looking for a second chance to change his mind? Could a relationship go anywhere? Or should they continue to ignore it?
Ivory is an artist and she’s excited to finally be a part of an art expo. She’s excited to be meeting new artists, making connections and showcasing her own work to the public. When her dad hooks her up with a place to stay for free, the struggling artist in her is grateful for the saved expense.
It’s not until she gets there that her dad drops the bomb just who’s place she’ll be staying at. Rhett is a renowned stone sculptor and Ivory’s dad’s best friend. He’s also her secret crush and the one who broke her heart and rejected her after she confessed to him.
When they are snowed in, their forced proximity leads to new revelations and resurrects feelings both MCs thought they’d buried.
Loved that the drama was low here, they both learned to communicate their feelings and that they shared a history with a perfect blend of background story and the feelings of discovering and getting to know a new person. Rhett was always a part of Ivory’s life but in the peripheral. It added that extra layer to their seemingly insta-love story.
Also can’t wait to find out how Amy and Ivory’s dad’s story finally plays out!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When ivy gets invited to a huge art conference in Alaska, her dad surprises her with a stay at his best friend Rhett's cabin. Not knowing about Ivy's humiliating attempt to seduce Rhett at her college graduation party, Ivy is shocked to run into Rhett again. After 2 years, they have both gained perspective on the night and agree to forgive. But, trapped together by the snowstorm, they can no longer deny their chemistry and continued attraction for each other. When Ivy goes to search for Rhett when he fails to return from his hunt for a rabid wolverine attack and gets herself hurt in the storm, can Rhett save her before she freezes to death? How will Rhys (Ivy's dad and Rhett's best friend) react? Juniper Michaels delivers a short steamy read with a satisfying HEA and a wonderful little epilogue.

Stranded is a short and steamy, OTT, forced-proximity, second-chance, girl gets her Dad's best friend romance. Ivory is a 23 year old artist. Rhett is a famous sculptor and her dad's best friend. Ivory has had a crush on Rhett for some time. She confessed her feelings at 21, and he rejected her. She has avoided him ever since. Her father ends up getting her an art show in Alaska and has booked her a cabin. She doesn't know Rhett is the owner, but when he shows up and they are stuck together in a snowstorm, what will happen? Will she be hurt again, or will Rhett see her as a woman? The chemistry was hot🔥🥵. When Rhett finally gave into his feelings, he was all in and full alpha mode. We also get a very happy ending!.

Ivory is an artist who is going to stay in Alaska for some sort of art retreat. The retreat is at a hotel and since she really can’t to pay for a hotel her father arranges for her to stay in a cabin. However, when Ivory gets there she finds out it’s Rhett’s cabin. Rhett is her father’s best friend and she made a pass at him when she was 18 that he turned down. Ivory desperately wants to leave the cabin but a snow storm prevents her from leaving. After a while Ivory and Rhett have crossed all lines and are involved in a hot and heavy romance. Can they continue this romance after the retreat? How will her father react? This was a fast paced novella.
This is a second chance-ish, forced proximity, dad's best friend romance. Ivy and Rhett have a great connection and an attraction that won't be denied. This is a fast paced read that was quick. I liked that this gave history to these two. It was great to see how these two did stuck in a cabin from a storm.
I received an arc copy to read. The book was a fun, light read between two characters who were wildly attracted to each other, although they shouldn't be. However, once they acted on their attraction, there was no stopping their connection. What happens when everyone find out?
I received an arc review copy of this book. I enjoyed the chemistry between the hero and heroine. This was a steamy age/gap romance that hits the spot if you enjoy insta-love books.
I received an advanced review copy of Stranded. I love age-gao, forbidden relationships, father's best friend, and unrequited love. If these are for you, grab Stranded for a quick, fun read.
