This 48-page booklet is a primer on and summary of the author's larger book, Biblical Eldership: Restoring the Eldership to Its Rightful Place in the Local Church (now in its third edition and completely revised).

Alexander Strauch masterfully outlines his thesis by firstly defining what 'Biblical Eldership' is, and then fleshing out the qualifications, character, nature and benefits of a local church leadership that consists of a plurality of elders. He outlines what pastoral leadership looks like and how it is to be accomplished by the apostolic directive of a shared leadership of properly qualified pastor-elders who protect, feed, lead, and help the local church.

The late John MacArthur commends this booklet and book in the following words, 'A fine contribution to the subject of eldership.'
