I don’t know why I like this book so much but I’ve read every version. I’m so glad this is the final finished copy bc I just want to KNOW WHAT HAPPENS SO I CAN MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE !!! just give me the final book in the series CK!
This was boring!! This should be how not to write a slow burn, also the FMC is an idiot, which makes the whole plot of her being in law school unbelievable. If I had to read one more second of her "not wanting a man to distract from her school" I was going to blow my brains out. I felt bad for the MMC and honestly, he deserves better. The only time the characters got along was when they were sleeping together. In conclusion the FMC is a child and you shouldn't read more than the first half of this book.
Will is forever my favorite book boyfriend. I started reading this story years ago on Wattpad and even if the first version holds a special place in my heart, this final one is so good. Cara tends to annoy me at the beginning of the book but I still love her. The fact that the story is character and not plot driven can be annoying to some but it just works so well. I’m excited to see how their story ends. This book is just so special to me, it’s what got me into reading all those years ago and Will & Cara will always be special to me
i read this series when it first came out on wattpad. i was obsessed with it. years later i tried finding this freaking book on wattpad only to find out she took it down. SEARCHED high and low for this damn book bro. i guess she published this book 2 times, i have both versions. and somehow she’s not even done. like how much tweaking you gotta do babes, it was already amazing from the beginning. i just wanna know the ending before i die.
I loved this book so much when it first came out years ago. It’s still amazing, less toxic than the original, but maybe the original just holds such a place in my heart. Still love Cara, William, Jason and Aaron. 💜
i started this series in junior year of college and now i’m going into 3L, so naturally, it’s only fitting i finally wrap this series up.
(fun fact: this book is the reason i pursued a summer placement at a corporate law firm. truly, nothing screams “qualified candidate” like fictional inspiration. thanks, Cara.)
Will’s adamant devotion to Cara is the real hook of the book. although i fancy myself a Jason girly irl, Will has lived in my head rent free over the past 4 years and i make no excuses for it.
i adore character-driven stories. only if the characters are willing to recognize their own imperfections. Cara is the classic “my way or the highway” heroine who cannot fathom there might be perspectives that are equally functional to her own limited worldview. i wish her a speedy recovery from her moral high ground addiction. Will could be equally insufferable as well. i guess it’s what makes them perfect for each other.
now, the part that made me want to slam the book shut: Will and Cara being endlessly impressed with each other for recognizing the most painfully obvious pop culture references. like, yes, we all know oedipus, the flash, and lord of the rings. recognizing “my precious” doesn’t make you profound.
4 ☆ because getting my hands on the first edition of this book marked the start of a very real (and dare i say successful) law journey for me—and i can genuinely trace that back to these characters. e.g: flat whites? my go-to now. the influence is real.
honestly, I only bought this book because I thought the cover was really cool and it’s still my favorite cover of all the books I have (only reason it got 3 stars). I wasn’t really a fan of the actual writing style and I struggled to connect with the characters. Some of their sub plots were just about things that I don’t really believe in. I also could see the vision of Cara’s character in the sense of being really independent, but, in the end, she just seemed needy and unrealistic.
I knew going into this story that it was character driven, that there wasn’t much of a plot. But as the story went on, I could see that adding a plot would’ve helped so much! If there wasn’t going to be a plot, at least make it a little shorter. But if you are looking for a story that is mainly character driven, this one is for you!
This book was great. The story and characters were well developed and interesting. The overall story kept me riveted. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in present day romance.
I read every version of this book and it kept getting better and better. A beautifully written book with a beautiful and entertaining love story. I finished it in two days i just couldn't put it down the new edition is really incredible.
I remember reading this on whatpad this was one of my favorite books I liked the original more but this version is really good. Still made me cry, laugh and feel every emotion Cara felt!!
This a 2-book romance series. I was obsessed with this book for an awfully long time in college. Skin of the Night is a story about the modern woman struggling to suppress her heart's wishes and take it into her control to live life by her own terms. Every sentence , every word , every thought is so real, believable, and written with such a conviction ..
. It lays down all the inner conflicts and dreams and fears of modern youth struggling to balance their mind with with their heart, or conflict between society's expectations to individual aspirations.
I consider this series as the impossible-made-possible feat of Perfection in story, Perfection in character-setup, Perfection in world-building, Perfection in relatability, Perfection in passion , Perfection in Chemistry and Witty Dialogue, basically Perfection achieved in this cliche Romance!
Its been my solace-during-stress, my source-of-passion, my material-for-daydreaming!
Oh My Gawdddddd!!!! This is technically the third time I’m reading the first book of this series BUT it’s now the official rewritten and completed version. I’ll never get over this book and the original wattpad version will forever hold a special place in my heart. Cannot wait to read book 2 and see what the future holds for Will and Cara <3 Asking for a friend… How do I find a William Night?!!!!
