So I never write a review, but seeing no feedback has been presented for this book yet, I just had to!
I never heard of or came across the Galah magazines, so I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked up this book on the 'New Items' shelf at my local library. The stunning cover and the title were what attracted me to it, and when I quickly flipped through and saw the beautiful images of the countryside attached to stories I was intrigued and the book had to come home with me.
With every piece of it I read, I felt inspired and uplifted. I live in the city (always have) and I dream of life in the country (always have). Will this book be the final push to do it? I think it's cemented it for me. Reading the stories of others living the life I yearn for and seeing inside their homes, gardens and towns... I slowed down so I could relish every piece of this book and I tried not to finish it too quickly!
Alas, I have this morning and I feel sad it finished but utterly uplifted and inspired by the lives I caught a glimpse of. I think I have to seek out the magazines for more stories and thank you to the editor/producer for sharing all this beautiful work! I hope another compilation comes out next year (hint, hint)
