I was born July 29, 1959 in Riverside, CA. I was adopted as a baby and my family moved around California and Oregon before settling down in Arkansas. My father died of cancer when I was six leaving behind my mother, my sister and myself. We moved several more time before finally settling down for good in a little town called Mountain Pine.

After graduating high school, I attended a community college and at age 23 married my first husband. We were married 10 years and had two beautiful children.

After a heart-breaking divorce, I moved to the Florida Panhandle with my two teenagers in 2001, to start a new life and a new job as a technical writer for a defense contractor.

The year 2006 was both the best and worst year of my life. I married my soul mate, David Masincupp in January and in December my 22 year old son passed away suddenly of a drug overdose.

I have always been a writer, but not one that would share my work with others. In 2010 I took an online creative writing class at Northwest Florida State College and that class opened my eyes to the possibility that I could share my work with others and I wouldn’t die.

Also in 2010, I wrote a poem as a tribute to my son, Richard that won first place in a writing contest and has been included in the college’s Blackwater Review and Collected Words from Writers of the Southern Coast.

I entered the NaNoWrimo in 2010 and was challenged to write 50,000 words from November 1st to the 30th. I completed my 50,000 works which laid the ground work for my novel, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. I self-published the novel in 2011 and then re-released it again in 2012 after having it professionally edited.

I am currently working on the sequel to Let Sleeping Dogs Lie and hope to have it released late fall.

I gain inspiration and ideas for my writing from life experiences. I love to read mysteries so therefore I do most of my writing in that genre. My work is character driven and I like writing about strong women who overcome whatever obstacles life throws at them. I also get a lot of my ideas from dreams. I write down my dreams and have several working drafts based off them.

I work full time and write in my spare time. My husband, Davy, my daughter Jessica and my sister, Jesslyn have been a great source of encouragement and support, without them I wouldn’t be where I am at today.

I have made many friends from the writing community and hope to encourage others to pursue their dreams of becoming published author. My only regret is that I didn’t pursue my dreams sooner.
