What a crazy life Winter had to go through. abuse prostitution and not knowing who you can trust. She was so young and so vulnerable that it created a monster. but in the end. She survived. She can get her life right finally. Very emotional and graphic read.
Loved this book. My heart went out to Winter all she wanted was to be loved and have a childhood out of all the people in her life grandma Rose seemed to have been the only one that truly loved her, but did she really? Winter went through so many obstacles and overcame each one, the biggest was coming face to face with her biological mother and hearing all those secrets, finding out who Tracy was to her and how he was the start of all her troubles. Now Los sold her a false dream and he got his in the end. All Winter wanted to do was turn 18 and receive her inheritance so many people were against her but she came out victorious. I thought she would have approached Los other secret life but she took the high road and found her happiness.
Thank goodness winter aka blue made three this disaster if a life because baby this journey and betrayal is on a whole other level. You did this Shaquoya
This read was enthralling! There were so many twists and turns! There were so many obstacles that Winter went through in order to get to the other side! She was definitely challenged and rose like the river Phoenix thru it all!!!
More plot twists than I expected. This read like a movie . Loved the characters and how descriptive you made them on paper. I’d definitely give this a 12/10❣️
This book had me in a straight chokehold. Spicy & crazy are two words to describe this read. I felt so bad for Winter. The hand that was dealt to her was straight bullsh**. The plots, twists and turns had me glued to the page wondering what would happen next. Love the storyline and the book was tied up nicely. I love me a good unexpected plot twist. This is my 4th read from Author Shaquoya Johnson & she never disappoints. She is definitely a hidden gem in the author industry. Readers definitely need to give her more credit. Great job Author. Can’t wait for your next read.
While this book kept the pages turning, it was a hard miss for me. There were too many characters, too many plots, too many, "How did this happen? moments. As the story came to the last 20%, nothing came together in a sensible manner. At the end of the book, I was disappointed I kept reading. In addition, it was literally every type of trauma you can think of added in the book. I would skip and not recommend this book.
Winter really surprised me with how strong willed she was. Although she’d been through her share of obstacles she turned into someone you didn’t want to mess with so I can see why Los made her his bottom even at a young age. She was really set to make money with Los, even though she held some resentment for him. But whether she decides to leave that life behind for sure is up to her
